Born Aug. 6, 1946, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of Bertha A. (Fye) and Samuel H. Lash Sr., of Parkview Avenue, Lewistown. Her husband, Clair E. "Skinner" Smith, whom she married March 4, 1966, survives.
Also surviving are: daughters, Mrs. Lee (Amy) Phillips, 173 N. Main St., Milroy and Lisa A. Smith, at home; brothers and sisters, Frances J. Marsh, Samuel H. Lash Jr., Joseph L. Lash, and James R. Lash, all of Lewistown, Walter L. Lash, Luann J. Lash, Ruth L. Lash, and Joyce L. Wray, all of Milroy, and Joan M. Stailey, McConnellstown; and two grandchildren.
She was a 1964 graduate of Chief Logan High School.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Milroy Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with the Rev. Edward P. Fleming Sr. officiating.
Interment will be in Birch Hill Cemetery, Burnham.

Carl E. Smith
Born July 29, 1912, in Pine Grove, he was a son of the David M. and S. Agnes (Heickes) Smith. His wife of 63 years, Vera I. (Hepner) Smith, survives.
Also surviving are: a son, Carl D. Smith, New Germantown and two granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theatre as a Navy Seabee.
He retired in 1975 as foreman of the truss shop of Juniata Lumber, Mifflintown. He was also a self-employed carpenter and early in life, he was employed by Pennsylvania Railroad, Enola.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Ronald C. Sheaffer Funeral Home, 16 Westfall St., McAlisterville, with the Rev. Donald W. Raffensperger officiating. Interment will follow in St. John's United Methodist Cemetery, McAlisterville RR1, with military honors given by the Juniata County Veterans Association.
Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services Wednesday at the funeral home.

E. Alice Smith
Born Aug. 4, 1911, in South Fork, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Michael J. and Annie (Beck) Bodenschatz. Her first husband, Max Hutchinson, preceded her in death June 11, 1951, and her second husband, R. Leroy Smith, preceded her in death March 9, 1991.
Surviving are: children, Mrs. Richard (Shirley) Miller, 8535 Route 522 South, Lewistown, and William B. Hutchinson, 95 Spruce Drive, McVeytown; stepsons, Ross L. Smith, 8426 Route 522 South, Lewistown, and Joseph E. Smith, 9499 Route 522 South, Lewistown; a brother and sisters, William Bodenschatz, 112 Terrace Blvd., Lewistown, Violet Pearson, 709 W. Fifth St., Lewistown, Mrs. John (Myrtle) Woods, Mechanicsburg, and Verna Zentack, Cresson; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, seven step-great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Lawson, two grandsons, one brother and seven sisters.
Early in life she was employed by American Viscose Corp. and later in life she was a homemaker.
She was a member of Lake Park United Methodist Church and the Ladies Bible Class of the Sunday school.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Raymond T. Brinson Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewistown.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Edna M. Smith
Born in British Columbia, Canada, she was the daughter of the late George H. and Elsie (Boulton) Smith.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
She was a school teacher for the Mifflin County School District for 37 years, retiring in 1974.
She attended the Presbyterian Church, Lewistown and was a member of the Retired Teacher's Association of Mifflin County.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Robert Zorn officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Eva N. Smith
Born Jan. 19, 1907, in Glen Rock, she was a daughter of the late Harvey C. and Elizabeth M. (Bortner) Brenneman. Her husband, Howard F. Smith Sr., preceded her in death.
Surviving are: sons, Donald E. Smith, Dover, Larry K. Smith, Milroy, and Terry L. Smith, Crossville, Tenn.; brother and sister, Stewart L. Brenneman, Florida, and Margaret Fisher, Glen Rock; 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Evelyn N. Cross, and two sons, Howard F. Smith Jr. and Roy E. Smith.
She was employed at the former Charles G. Summers Jr. Inc., New Freedom, for 25 years.
She was a member of Kish Valley Grace Brethren Church, Reedsville, and the Fountain Square Senior Center, Milroy.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary Inc., 24 Second St., New Freedom, with the Rev. Douglas D. Sabin officiating. Interment will be in Bethlehem Steltz Cemetery, Glen Rock.
Friends may call from 12:30 p.m. until the time of services Friday at the mortuary.
Florence E. 'Flossie' Smith
Born May 2, 1900, in Beaver Springs, she was the daughter of the late Charles Andrew Peter and Mollie (Specht) Ulsh. Her husband, Ira B. Smith, died May 28, 1971.
Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Marlin (Fae) Klinger, West Hurley, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Ulsh; two sisters, Jeanette Diehl and Mildred Fullard; and a half-sister, Carrie Hoch.
She and her husband operated PineHurst, a tourist home outside of Mifflintown from 1940 to 1969.
She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Mifflintown, where she was a Sunday School pianist and very active in the EverReady Sunday School, the choir, the Women of the ELCA, the Needlers and was formerly the church organist.
She was a member of Friends of Locust Grove, where she played the piano and volunteered thousands of hours in many capacities. She also played piano for the residents at Brookline Manor and Retirement Village, and sang with the Community Chorus.
She was the 1998 recipient of the Community Service Award from the Mifflintown Rotary Club.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Messiah Lutheran Church, Mifflintown, with the Rev. William Esborn officiating. Interment will be held in Mt. Rock Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Friday at the church.

George W. Smith
Born Aug. 13, 1917, in Windsor, he was a son of the late William Smith and Callie (Green) Tome. His wife, Jeanette M. (Miller) Smith, whom he married February 14, 1957, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Ronald H. Smith, Selinsgrove Center, Irene A. Kile, Yoe, Joyce E. Kreider, Red Lion, Janet L. Porter and Lois J. Woods, both of Lancaster, and Connie L. Anderson, New Port Richey, Fla; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Romaine M. Dillman in 1994, and Diane E. Smith in 1976; and two sons, Robert G. Smith in 1952, and Steven H. Smith in 1954.
He was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was self-employed for 11 years at Smith Mobil Station in Loganville and was an estate manager for Tall Timbers Lodge, Adams County, and Jackson Lodge, Mifflin County. He retired as an employee of Dallastown Area School District.
He was a member of Hummel's United Methodist Church, Middleburg.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Burg Funeral Home Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, with the Rev. Golden A. Gaither and the Rev. Marlin E. Bowes officiating. Interment will be in Mount Rose Cemetery with full military rites provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today and from 12 p.m. until the time of services Friday at the funeral home.

G. Foster Smith
Born Dec. 16, 1900, in Yeagertown, he was a son of the late U. Grant and Annie M. (Shontz) Smith. His wife, Helen (Wray) Smith, died March 5, 1950.
Surviving are: daughters, Mrs. Richard (Phyllis) Thompson, Lewistown, Shirley L. Lepley, Beaver Springs, and Mrs. Robert (Nancy) Bogar, Snook Road, Alfarata; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers and sister, G. Orrie Smith, J. Herbert Smith and B. Francis Smith and Helen Jones.
In early life, he was employed by Standard Steel, Burnham, Mann Edge Tool, Lewistown, and the American Viscose Corporation, Lewistown.
In 1930, he built, owned and operated the Log Cabin Inn until retiring in 1963. After retirement he owned an ice-cream truck which he operated at various state fairs.
He was a charter member of the Shade Mountain Hunting Camp and a 50 year member of the United Commercial Travelers.
He was also an avid hunter and a licensed pilot.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, at Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Kevin Brophy officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family at Juniata Memorial Park.
