Born Dec. 25, 1909, in Buckwheat Valley, Snyder County, he was a son of the late Emory E. and Sara Caroline "Carrie" (Brown) Snyder. His wife, I. Pauline (Womer) Snyder, whom he married June 29, 1934, survives.Also surviving are: sons, George D. Snyder, Richfield RR1, and Roger A. Snyder and Edward E. Snyder, both of Richfield; sisters, Mary Arnold, Mifflinburg, and Esther Davis, Forty Fort; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Lawrence Snyder, Arthur Snyder, John Snyder, Robert Snyder and Raymond Snyder; and two sisters, Emma Leitzel and Ruth Regester.
He was educated at the former Fayette High School in McAlisterville.
At 16, he began working at Richfield Bank, where he worked for over 20 years. He retired as a poultry farmer in the early 1960s.
He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Richfield, and was a charter member of the Richfield Lions Club. He was a member of the Richfield Sportsmen's Club, the Richfield Fire Company and Ambulance League and the Williamsport Consistory. He was a life member of the Loyal Order of Moose No. 1562, Newport.
He was also a member of Lafayette Lodge No. 194 Free and Accepted Masons, Selinsgrove. He received his 50-year Masonic pin of recognition in September 1998.
He enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
A Service of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Richfield, with the Rev. Andrew C. Weaver officiating. Interment will be in Richfield Union Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at George P. Garman Funeral Home, Mount Pleasant Mills, and from 10 a.m until the time of services Friday at the church.

Donna B. Snyder
Born Dec. 10, 1930, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Clarence W. and Alice (Thompson) Branthoffer. Her husband, Robert E. Snyder, died June 28, 1995.
Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Phillip L. (Robin S.) LeBo, Thompsontown RR2, and a son, Matthew B. Snyder, Thompsontown; and two grandsons.
She was a 1948 graduate of Thompsontown High School.
She retired in 1991 as a purchasing agent for the Pennsylvania State Game Commission, Harrisburg.
She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Thompsontown, the Altar Guild of the church, and the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 260, Mifflintown.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Thompsontown, with the Rev. Glenn E. Heasley officiating. Interment will be in Thompsontown Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of services Sunday at the church.

Edith (Kephart) Snyder
Born Aug. 16, 1907, in Houtzdale, she was a daughter of the late A. Wesley and Elizabeth (Hayden) Kephart. Her husband, Richard F. Snyder, died April 13, 1989.
Surviving is a sister, Sara Knudson, 303 Kishacoquillas St., Lewistown.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Herman Kephart; and three sisters, Nora E. Goss, Mildred Lansberry and Sue Foster.
She was a 50-year member of First Presbyterian Church, Lewistown, and a member of the Eastern Star.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Robert Zorn and the Rev. Jacob T. Traxler officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of services Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Mary Lou Snyder
Born Nov. 18, 1925, in Houtzdale, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Alton M. "Herb" and Bessie Marie (Brown) Herbster. Her husband, Harry E. Snyder, preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 1975.
Surviving are: a son, Barry M. Snyder, Macdoel, Calif.; sister, Mrs. Daniel (Betty) Benson, Newark, Del.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard A. Herbster.
Early in life she was an assistant for Dr. Cohen and later she was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewistown. She was also a member of the Ich Dien Bible Class.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, July 11, at the Hoenstine Funeral Home, Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Clifford Miller officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
Family will receive friends from 12 p.m. Sunday until the time of services.

Robert 'Bob' Arthur Snyder
Born March 15, 1928, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Foster and Jeanette (Bingaman) Snyder. His wife, Anna Mary (Kearns) Snyder, whom he married Nov. 16, 1950, survives.
Also surviving are: a son, Robert A. Snyder Jr. of Sunbury; a sister, Marjorie (Snyder) Maunder of Lewistown; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, William D. Snyder, in 1962 and one brother, William Foster Snyder, in infancy.
He was a life member of the Americus Hose Co.
He worked for the American Viscose Corporation, Lewistown, for several years. Later, he began his career in radio broadcasting at WMRF Radio in Lewistown. Moving to Sunbury, he became a prominent radio, news and program director for WKOK, WSEW and retired from WMLP-WVLY in 1992.
He was also active in his family business, The Peppermint Lounge, and was the sound engineer for two local bands in the 1970s, Chance and Thunder.
Friends will be received from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the David T. Zweier Funeral Home Inc., 157 Chestnut St., Sunbury. Immediately following, there will be a gathering at the family business, The Peppermint Lounge. There will be no viewing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Rodney L. Snyder Sr.
Born June 2, 1953, in Lewistown, he was the son of James C. and Jessie L. (Yorks) Snyder of Lewistown. His wife, Nancy L. (Pannebaker) Snyder, who he married Nov. 28, 1970, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Rodney L. Snyder Jr., Lewistown and Angela M. Laub, Hazleton; brothers and sisters, Barry K. Snyder, Teresa R. Snyder, and Douglas J. Snyder, all of Lewistown, and Jamie L. Moss, Wake Forest, N.C.; and two grandsons.
He was a 1971 graduate of Chief Logan High School.
He was a welder/press and shear operator at Ford New Holland, Belleville.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. George H. Mark officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Mifflin-Juniata Special Needs Center or to the Mifflin-Juniata Special Olympics, both at 401 Yale St., Lewistown, PA 17044.
Steven E. Snyder
Born Aug. 21, 1954, in Lewistown, he was a son of Donald H. "Pete" and C. June (Smith) Snyder, 308 Eighth Ave., Burnham. His wife, Jan C. (Watson) Snyder, whom he married Oct. 4, 1975, survives.
Also surviving are: daughters, Corinne N. Snyder and Jennifer L. Snyder, both at home; and a brother, Edward C. Snyder, 10 Ridge Road, Lewistown.
He was a 1972 graduate of Penn Highlands High School, Chief Logan Campus, and a 1974 graduate of Williamsport Area Community College.
He was employed as a welder at New Holland North America.
He was a member of the Reedsville Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Warrior Club.
He coached the Reedsville girl's softball teams and assisted with girls basketball. He was also an avid hunter.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Kenneth Longfield officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Kenneth W. Socie
Born Oct. 16, 1936, in Beaverdale, he was the son of the late Peter and Laura (Clark) Socie. His wife, Carole (Carnell) Socie, whom he married Oct. 26, 1957, survives.
Also surviving are: sons, Kenneth Socie, West Chester, Craig Socie, Lititz, Douglas, Chesapeake, Va., and Thomas Socie, Mohnton; a sister, Mrs. Fred (Shirley) Neyhard, Ephrata; and seven grandchildren.
He worked in various management positions in the Lancaster, Lewistown, and Indiana, Pa. areas. He retired in 1996 from the Prudential Insurance Company of America, after 35 years of service.
He was a member of the Hempfield United Methodist Church, where he served on the Board of Trustees and was head usher for the 8 a.m. service.
He was past president of the Lewistown Chamber of Commerce, the East Petersburg Jaycees, the Lewistown Rotary, and the Lancaster Association of Life Underwriters. He was a member of the F&AM 587, Manheim; the Tall Cedars of Lebanon; the Valley of Williamsport Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite; and the BPOE Lodge 931, Indiana, Pa.
Services will be held at 10 a.m Friday at the Hempfield United Methodist Church, 3050 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, with the Rev. Thomas W. Fries officiating. Entombment will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lancaster.
There will be no public viewing, but friends may call from 6:60-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, 247 Main St., Landisville or from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: the Building Fund of Hempfield United Methodist Church, 3050 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA 17601.
