He was born Feb. 20, 1911 in Mill Hall, Pa., a son of the late Richard C. and Olive (Bower) Stevenson. His wife, Esther Klinefelter, whom he married June 27, 1939, preceded him in death Oct. 17, 1997.
Surviving are: children, Diane Berry, Lock Haven; James Stevenson, Rigby, Idaho and Alan Stevenson, West Chester, Pa.; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Galbraith, Mill Hall; Mrs. Harold (Mary) Robb, Mill Hall; R. Dean Stevenson, Mill Hall and Francis P. "Pug" Stevenson, Mill Hall; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: three brothers, Thomas Stevenson, Hillery Stevenson and Richard C. Stevenson Jr. and a grandson, William Berry.
He attended Mill Hall schools.
He retired in 1981 from the Lost Creek Golf Course, Oakland Mills, where he had been a golf pro and greenskeeper. He had previously worked at Toftrees, State College, Nittany Country Club, Mingoville and the Clinton Country Club, Mill Hall. He had also worked in shipyards in Baltimore, Md. during World War II.
He enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
Services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 2, 1999, at the Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, 320 Main St., Mill Hall, with the Rev. James H. Redmon officiating. Interment will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall.
Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 1999, at the funeral home.
Edward J. Stewart
Born Nov. 17, 1955, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Edward D. and Sue (Stidfold) Stewart.
He is survived by a brother, William S. Stewart, 82 Schoolhouse Road, McVeytown and a stepbrother, Paul Kurtz, McVeytown.
He was a 1975 graduate of Chief Logan High School.
He was employed as a forklift operator at Masland Industries from 1987 to the present.
He was a lifetime member of the City, Hook, and Ladder Fire Co. and a member of the Elkwood Hunting Camp and the Hillbilly Club, Spring Mills.
Services and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
There will be no public viewing but family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
Memorial contributions may be made to: the S.P.C.A., RR1, Centre Hall, PA 16828.
Neil J. Stewart
He was born Feb. 7, 1925 to the late Roy S. and Kathleen (Peace) Stewart.
His wife, Patricia R. (Ross) Stewart, survives.
Also surviving are, a daughter, Nancy L. Eckert, Mechanicsburg, a son, Donald L. Stewart, Etters, a brother, Robert Stewart, Lewistown, three granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.
He was an Air Corps veteran of World War II.
He was retired from the United States Postal Service, Mechanicsburg.
He was a member of the Shiremanstown United Methodist Church, Shiremanstown and the Mechanicsburg Club, Mechanicsburg.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000 at Shiremanstown United Methodist Church, 125 E. Main St., Shiremanstown with the Rev. John A. Ile Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in the Juniata Memorial Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
Arrangements are being handled by Funeral Home, 8 Market Plaza Way, Mechanicsburg, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shiremanstown United Methodist Church, 125 E. Main St., Shiremanstown, Pa. 17011 or Silver Spring Ambulance Association, 12 Eleanor Dr., P.O. box 177, New Kingstown, Pa. 17072.
Dorothy A. 'Dot' Stimely
Born July 7, 1924, in McAlisterville, she was a daughter of the late Harry T. and Rhoda M. (Swartz) Ehrenzeller. Her husband, David P. Stimely Sr., whom she married Nov. 16, 1940, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Donna J. Bonson, Milroy, Mrs. Gerald (Connie) Knepp and David P. Stimely Jr., both of McVeytown; sister, Ruth Dunmire, 46 Open Hearth Manor; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers, George and Jack Ehrenzeller and sister, Pauline Suloff.
Early in life, she worked for Mertz Restaurant, McVeytown, the Arrow Shirt Factory and Avisco until 1972. She then worked for Dave's Amoco until retirement.
She was a member of the Spring Run Church of the Brethren and taught the Shining Star Class of the Sunday school. She was a Girl Scout leader and helped with the McVeytown Ambulance and Fire Co. She was also a member of the Raystown Swingers and the Logan Squares, Lewistown.
She was an avid hunter.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Spring Run Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Jerry Miller officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
There will be no public viewing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: the Spring Run Church of the Brethren, Ferguson Valley Road, McVeytown, PA 17051 or to HOSPICE: The Bridge, 1126 W. Fourth St., Lewistown, PA 17044.

William C. Stimmel
Born Dec. 29, 1921, in Port Royal, he was the son of the late William C. and Alba (Miller) Stimmel. His wife, Jane (Shepley) Stimmel of Port Royal RR1, whom he married Sept. 14, 1946, survives.
Also surviving are: sons, William C. Stimmel Jr., Colville, Wash. and James F. Stimmel, New Bloomfield; sisters, Jane Robinson, Port Royal RR2 and Mrs. George (Anne) Hench, Elizabethtown; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brother and sisters, J. Robert Stimmel, Pauline Zook, and Bennette Miller.
He was a 1939 graduate of the Port Royal High School.
He was the former owner of Kauffman's Dairy, Mifflintown.
He was a member of the Port Royal Lutheran Church, where he was in the church choir and a former church councilman.
Memorial services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Port Royal Lutheran Church, Port Royal, with the Rev. Marton J. Roberson officiating. Interment will be in Old Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.
There will be no public viewing but family will receive friends from 3:30 p.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to: the Port Royal Lutheran Church, PO Box 267, Port Royal, PA 17082-0267.
Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal, is in charge of arrangements.
Shawn Bradley Stoltzfus
Also surviving are: paternal grandparents, John F. and Linda (Yoder) Stoltzfus of Lewisburg RR2; maternal grandparents, Glen D. and Salome (Yoder) Yoder of Middleburg; paternal great-grandparents, Henry and Mary Stoltzfus of Wisconsin and Alvin F. and Malinda Yoder of Mifflinburg RR2; maternal great-grandparents, Steven and Alice Yoder of Indiana and Kore E. and Annie Yoder of Belleville; and numerous cousins.
Private services were held Sunday at the Shady Grove Amish-Mennonite Fellowship Cemetery, Buffalo Road, Mifflinburg RR2, with Joseph S. Peachey officiating.
The James L. Schwartz Home for Funerals, 247 Chestnut St., Mifflinburg, was in charge of arrangements.
Donald M. 'Ike' Stoner
Born Dec. 17, 1907, in Mifflintown, he was a son of the late Henry Irvin and Mary Albertha (Bossert) Stoner. His wife, Beatrice M. (Book) Stoner, died May 12, 1990.
Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Eleanor) Reeder, Harrisburg; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Ramsey, Verna Stoner, and Helen Stoner.
He was a 1931 graduate of Gettysburg College, where he was active in varsity football and baseball and was a member of the Phi Delta Theta National Fraternity and the Pen and Sword Honorary Activity Society. In the 1930s, he played baseball on the Juniata and Perry Counties Leagues.
He was a United States Army veteran of World War II.
In early life, he and his wife were operators and part owners of Renninger and Stoner Chick Hatchery, Mifflintown. Later he worked for the Auditor Generals Department and with the World War II Veterans Bonus Bureau, Harrisburg. He then was employed as a clerk in the Mifflintown Post Office until his retirement in 1973.
He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, Mifflintown, the Mifflintown American Legion Post 298, and the AARP.
He enjoyed collecting baseball cards and stamps.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Guss Funeral Home, 20 South Third St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. William N. Esborn officiating. Interment will be in the Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown, where full military honors will be provided by the Juniata County Veterans Council.
Friends may call from 1 p.m until the time of the services Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: the Messiah Lutheran Church Building Fund, 3 S. Third St., Mifflintown, PA 17059.
Joseph Lee 'Joe' Stoner
Born Nov. 21, 1979, in Lewistown, he was the son of Lee Stoner Jr. of Gary, Ind. and Carlene (Rodgers) Powell of 619 Valley St., Lewistown.
Also surviving are: brother and sisters, Joshua Stoner, Bethany Stoner, and Lydia Stoner, all at home; half brother, Matthew Powell, at home; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rodgers, 408 Knepp Ave., Lewistown; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Stoner Sr., 727 S. Grand St., Lewistown; maternal great-grandfather, John "Sandy" Deer, Caughnawaga, Canada; paternal great-grandmothers, Virginia Stoner, Mifflintown and Marion Ernest, 18 Woods Lane, Lewistown; stepfather, Scott D. Powell Sr., 619 Valley St., Lewistown; step-grandmother, Mary Powell, 14 Goss Terrace, Lewistown; stepbrother and stepsister, Scott Powell Jr. and Jessica Powell, both of 172 Klondyke Drive, Lewistown.
He had been employed by the Salvation Army Rehab Center, Altoona.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. John S. Walters officiating. Interment will be in the Maitland Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

LEWISTOWN - Edward J. Stewart, 44, of 2737 US Highway 522 North, Lewistown, died of natural causes at 12:01 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, 2000, at his residence.
MECHANICSBURG - Neil J. Stewart, 74, of Silver Spring Township, Mechanicsburg died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000 at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Township.
MCVEYTOWN - Dorothy A. "Dot" Stimely, 75, 5830 U.S. Highway South, McVeytown, died at 2:49 a.m. Sunday Nov. 14, 1999, at her residence.
PORT ROYAL - William C. Stimmel, 77, of Port Royal RR1, died at 10:55 a.m. Monday, Oct. 11, 1999, at Lewistown Hospital.
LEWISBURG - Shawn Bradley Stoltzfus, infant son of Chester Samuel and Regina Eileen (Yoder) Stoltzfus, of Col. John Kelly Road, Lewisburg RR2, died at birth at 4:53 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 1999, at Brookside, Mifflinburg RR2.
