Born Aug. 9, 1911, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Robert P. and Mary L. (Bair) Strouse. His wife, Mildred M. (Bletz) Strouse, whom he married July 17, 1932, died Dec. 2, 1996.
Surviving are: children, Ruby M. Long, Centre Hall, Walter R. Strouse, Spring Mills RR2, John L. Strouse and Samuel C. Strouse, both of Bellefonte, Frank D. Strouse and Rick A. Strouse, both of Spring Mills; 18 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
He was employed at White Rock Corry of Jacksonville and Pleasant Gap; was a foreman at the Harry Eby Paving Plant in Pleasant Gap; and was also a supervisor and road master of Gregg Township.
He was a member of Gregg Township Fire Co., Spring Mills.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising peacocks.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home, 120 West Main St., Millheim, with the Rev. Warren MacEachern and Associate Pastor Lori Forman officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Millheim.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Alda L. 'Peg' Stuck
Born Feb. 24, 1919, in Newport, she was a daughter of the late Oliver and Mary (Dietz) Hartzell. Her husband, Edward R. Stuck, whom she married May 18, 1940 in Manassas, Va., survives.
Also surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Kay) Eagler, Thompsontown; sisters, Clee Kireta, Hummelstown, Marian Bender, Thompsontown RR, Berniece Felmlee, Camp Hill, and Shirley Coffman, Lewisberry; two granddaughters and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by brother and sisters, Donald Hartzell, Ruth Hartzell, Betty Rheem and Helen Maurer.
She was a 1938 graduate of Newport High School.
She had been employed as a seamstress at the Thompsontown Garment Factory, as a secretary for Branthoffer's Oldsmobile, Millerstown, and as a secretary for the Thompsontown State Shed. She and her husband owned and operated Stuck's Racing Service (concessions at the Port Royal Speedway) from 1955-1965; the Bermudian Drive-In Restaurant, York Springs; Stuck's Drive-In Restaurant, Mechanicsburg; and Stuck's Mobile Home Park, Shiremanstown.
She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Thompsontown.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles and soap operas.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Thompsontown, with the Rev. Louise L. Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in the church Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services Thursday at the church.

A. Mildred Stuck
Born Feb. 3, 1913, in Union Township, Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of the late John Andrew and Myrtle A. (Stuter) Crownover. Her husband, Rush G. Stuck Sr., died Aug. 28, 1987.
Surviving are: children, Kenn G. Stuck, Milroy, Thelma Byler, Rush G. Stuck Jr., Glen P. Stuck, Dean G. Stuck, and Neil G. Stuck, all of Belleville; a sister, Evelyn Packard, Reedsville; half sisters, Mrs. Robert (Donna) Pry, Hershey, Mrs. Jay (Altheda) Shade, Anaheim, Calif., and Mrs. James (Darlis) Dell, Huntingdon; 22 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; a grandson; sister and brother, Mary Crownover and Jesse Crownover; half sisters, Arlene McFadden, Vergie Crownover, Ruth Yoder, and Esther Crownover; and stepmother, Alta (Hostetler) Crownover Habbershon.
She was a homemaker and a correspondent for the Belleville Times and the County Observer, writing The Rockville News for many years.
She was a member of Watts Memorial United Methodist Church, Belleville, and had attended Rockville Mennonite Church. She was an honorary life member of the Belleville Fire Company and ladies auxiliary and a member of the Stroup-Alexander VFW Post ladies auxiliary.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Donald E. Baggus Funeral Home, Belleville, with the Rev. Harold Sharp officiating. Interment will be in Machpelah Cemetery, Belleville.
Friends may call from 6:30-9 p.m Friday at the funeral home.

Lorie A. Stuck
Born Feb. 14, 1975, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of Robert L. and Billie (Hockensmith) Stuck of 906 N. Pine St., Burnham.
Also surviving are maternal grandmothers, Reiko Hockensmith, Camp Hill and Anna Holley, Fontana, Calif.; and a brother, Robert L. Stuck Jr., State College.
She was a 1993 graduate of Indian Valley High School and a graduate of Lock Haven University, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in social work.
She was a social worker for Franklin County and worked part-time for Cornell Abbraxs.
She was a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Heller- Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with the Rev. John S. Walters officiating. Interment will be in Birch Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ruth M. Stuck
Born Dec. 25, 1922, in Monroe Township, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Lee E. and Bessie C. (Graybill) Strawser. Her husband, Herman P. Stuck, whom she married June 2, 1950, survives.
Also surviving are: a sister, Orpha Strawser, McAlisterville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Lehman Strawser.
She attended Stony Run Grammar School, Richfield RR1.
She was a homemaker and loved to crochet, can fruits and vegetables and feed and watch hummingbirds.
She was a member of Richfield United Methodist Church.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ronald C. Sheaffer Funeral Home, 16 Westfall St., McAlisterville, with the Rev. Brittan Stimeling officiating. Interment will be in Neimond's Cemetery, Richfield RR1.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where family will be present from 7-9 p.m.

Fred A. Stump
Born Feb. 1, 1924, in Peru Lack, Juniata County, he was the son of the late Edmund Kerns and Tirzah Jane (Pyles) Stump. His wife, Dorothy Ann (Lance) Stump, whom he married June 11, 1960 in Chester, Pa., survives.
Also surviving are: children, Timothy Allen Stump, Charlottesville, Va. and Jennifer Morrow Koller, Stephens City, Va.; a sister and a brother, Agnes Jean Walker, Bath, Pa. and Warren Q. Stump, Mifflintown; and two grandchildren.
He was a graduate of the Thadeus Stevens School of Technology, Lancaster and served as a private first class in the U. S. Army during World War II.
He was assistant department head with the American Viscose Corporation and supervisor with the FMC Corporation and Avtex Corporation, retiring after 42 years of service.
He was a member of the Kernstown United Methodist Church; past master of the Masonic Lodge 625 AF&AM, Concordville; the Order of the Eastern Star, McKinley Chapter 19 in Winchester, Va.; and the United Methodist Men.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Kernstown United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mary Beth Blinn officiating. Interment will be held at Shenandoah Memorial Park, with military honors conducted by the VFW Post 2123.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today at the Omps Funeral Home, 1600 Amherst St., Winchester, Va., where a masonic service will be held at 7 p.m.

Isabelle V. Stump
Born Aug. 18, 1909, in Milford Township, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late George M. and Bessie May (Pry) Varnes. Her husband, John F. Stump, died Nov. 23, 1967.
She is survived by a sister, Ruth V. Landis, Port Royal, and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry M. Varnes and J. Glen Varnes; and four sisters, Margaretta V. Nace, Kathryn V. Sheets, Helen Wharton Kepner and Mary Grace Varnes.
She was a seamstress, retiring from Juniata Garment, Mifflin.
She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Mifflintown and a life member of the Mifflintown American Legion Post 298.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown. Interment will be in Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Carrie Breckenridge Stumpf
Born Dec. 24, 1907, in Harrisburg, she was a daughter of the late James Hull and Anna B. (Coons) Breckenridge. Her husband, Sherman William Stumpf, died March 30, 1978.
Surviving are a sister, Gladys B. Reeves, Carlisle and a brother, William H. Breckenridge, New Cumberland.
She was preceded in death by a half-brother, Harry H. Detwiler.
She attended Chambersburg Business School.
She was a secretary for the Federal Civil Service, retiring in 1963.
She was a member of the Lewistown Presbyterian Church from 1939 to 1983 and a member of the Pine Street Presbyterian Church in Harrisburg. She was also a member of the American Association of Retired Persons and the National Travel Club.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Woodlawn Memorial Park, Harrisburg.
There will be no public viewing.
Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.

SHIPPENSBURG - Lorie A. Stuck, 24, of 19 1/2 N. Penn St., Shippensburg, died of natural causes, Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at her apartment.
