Born Jan. 16, 1897, in Mifflin County, he was a son of the late John H. and Minnie (Hough) Stumpff. His wife, Jessie H. (Moore) Stumpff, preceded him in death.
Surviving are: children, Walter B. Stumpff Jr., Tuscaloosa, Ala. and Mrs. Dr. Wallace B. (Nancy H.) Rummel, St. Petersburg, Fla.; nine grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
He was a United States Army veteran of World War I, having served two tours and was the last World War I veteran in this area.
He was a retired dairy and livestock farmer. He was also a retired rural mail carrier in Mifflin County, where he started carrying mail by horse and buggy, later by motorcycle, jeep, and finally by car.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lewistown and was also affiliated with the Westminster Presbyterian Church, St. Petersburg, Fla. He was president of his 1916 high school class, a member of the Lewistown Masonic Lodge 203, Lewistown, and the Rural Mail Carriers Association.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Wallace B. Rummel and the Rev. Daniel E. Rummel officiating.
Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery, Lewistown.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Barbara J. Stuter
Born Oct. 20, 1941, in Logan Township, Huntingdon County, she was the daughter of the late Harold Eugene and J. Irene (Wilson) Knode. Her husband, James C. Stuter, preceded her in death on May 24, 1998.
Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. John (Jennifer) Baker II, Wimbledon, England; and a sister, Mrs. Robert (Brenda) King, Huntingdon RR2.
She was an LPN at the Big Valley Area Medical Center for Dr. Harlan Abbott.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Belleville, where she was in the church choir, a member of the Sunday school and a teacher. She was also past president of ELCA, Mifflin County Breast Cancer Survivor in Rotunda, Harrisburg and a member of the Mifflin-Juniata Unit of the American Cancer Society. She had been the Nurse of Hope, and a Reach to Recovery and Road to Recovery volunteer.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Belleville, with the Rev. Lois Martin officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6:30-9 p.m. Thursday at the Donald E. Baggus Funeral Home, Belleville.

Elizabeth G. Sullivan
Born April 25, 1914, in Holyoke, Mass., she was a daughter of the late James and Sarah (Geoghegan) Gilbert. Her husband, John L. Sullivan, died Oct. 30, 1994.
She is survived by a grand niece and grand nephew.
She was the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by a niece, Katherine (Prendergast) Nixon, whom she raised; five brothers and two sisters.
She assisted for 26 years in the Golf Pro Shop of Lewistown Country Club.
She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church and an honorary member of the Lewistown Country Club.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Lewistown, with the Rev. Father Thomas Marickovic officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 10-10:45 a.m. Saturday at the Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown.

Leroy Z. 'Toy' Suloff
Born May 9, 1908, in Mifflin, he was a son of the late David L. and Irma V. (Zeiders) Suloff. His wife, Madelyn (Hower) Suloff, whom he married in 1935, survives.
Also surviving are a son, David L. Suloff, 309 Park Drive, Reedsville; one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.
He was the last of his immediate family and was preceded in death by a stillborn son, William.
He was a supervisor in Tire Fabric at FMC for 45 years.
He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Lewistown; the Tall Cedars of Lebanon; the Elks Club 663, Lewistown; and the Masonic Lodge 203 F&AM.
He was a pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Dale Hippensteel officiating. Interment will be in Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of the services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Anna Grayce Summers
Born Feb. 28, 1934, in Altoona, she was a daughter of the late Clayton Hayes and Harriet (Kaufman) Wyke. Her husband, Robert W. Summers, died in 1974.
She is survived by a brother, Paul H. Wyke, Altoona.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
She was a bartender at the Log Cabin for 10 years and a cashier at Decor Lanes, Lewistown.
She was a former member of VFW Post 7011, Lewistown.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
There will be no public viewing.

Bertha E. Sunderland
Born Jan. 19, 1919, in McVeytown, she was a daughter of the late James and Sarah (Moist) Renninger. Her husband, Charles O. Sunderland, whom she married March 31, 1937, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Mrs. Walter (Sandra J.) Amtower, Montoursville, C. Larry Sunderland, James L. Sunderland, Diane E. Rodgers, and Edward L. Sunderland, all of McVeytown; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ray A. Sunderland on March 17, 1994; four sisters; and one brother.
She was a homemaker and a member of McVeytown United Methodist Church.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 S. Market St., McVeytown, with the Rev. Marian E. Hartman officiating. Interment will be in Mattawana Cemetery, McVeytown.
Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Stella Mae Swanger
Born Jan. 24, 1920, in Burnham, she was the daughter of the late James and Gertrude (Bay) Walker. Her husband, William E. Swanger Jr., whom she married in 1957, survives.
Also surviving are: a son, William E. Swanger III, Mechanicsburg; a sister, Della Diven, Milroy; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
She owned and operated 'The Loft," a gift shop in Middleburg.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Dillsburg, the Order of the Eastern Star, the White Shrine, and was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Dr. Philip Lynch officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the services Friday at the funeral home.

Vincent P. 'Bin' Swanger
Born Sept. 25, 1916, in Yeagertown, he was a son of the late W. Earl and Margaretta (Snook) Swanger. His first wife, Amelia Swanger, died in 1988. His second wife, Tressie (Clinger) Swanger, whom he married in 1989, survives.
Also surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Karen K.) Rishel, Florida; brothers and sister, Herbert L. Swanger, Florida, Willliam E. Swanger Jr., Dillsburg, Laverne Kathleen Brenneman, Mechanicsburg, and Donald J. Swanger, Camp Hill; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II.
He had worked at F.M.C.; was manager of Johnson's Hardware Store for 24 years; and worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue, retiring in 1980 after 4 1/2 years.
He was a lifelong member of the Holy Communion Lutheran Church, Yeagertown. He joined the Yeagertown Lions Club in 1946 and served as zone chairman, deputy district governor, secretary for two terms and president for three terms. He had 100 percent attendance and was a charter member of the Lion's Club.
He was general chairman of the Yeagertown Sesquicentennial in 1992, treasurer of the Yeagertown Civic Group in 1993 and 1994, and grand marshal of the Sesquicentennial Parade and received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Holy Communion Lutheran Church, Main Street, Yeagertown, with the Rev. Phillip Tundel officiating. Interment will be in Holy Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today at the Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown.
