PORT ROYAL - Huldah S. "Huddie" Beale, 88, formerly of Port Royal RR1, died at 10:05 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2000, at Locust Grove Retirement Village, HC 67, Mifflin.
Born Aug. 11, 1911, in Spruce Hill Township, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Nevin and Bertha (Harter) Swartz. Her husband, Edgar F. Beale, died March 11, 1977.
She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by brothers and sisters, the Rev. Frank J. Swartz, Sr., Dr. Oramel Swartz, Stanley Swartz, Claude Swartz, Oscar Swartz, Emma Hubbard, Della Brackbill, Alma Ritter, Ethel Landis, and Mary Weber.
She was a retired seamstress, having worked for the Mifflintown Dress Factory.
She was a member of the Rock Full Gospel Assembly of God Church.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal, with the Rev. Paul C. Parrish officiating. Interment will be in Old Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
MILLERSTOWN - William B. Beamer, 80, of Millerstown RR2, formerly of Altoona, died at 2:20 p.m. Sunday, July 4, 1999, at the Locust Grove Retirement Village.
Born Jan. 15, 1919, in Altoona, he was the son of the late G. Melvin and Ida (Beacham) Beamer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Madeline (Gilpatrick) Beamer.
Surviving are: children, Mrs. Ronald (Donna) Thomas and William B. Beamer, both of Lewistown, and Mrs. Jeffrey (Lori) Strine, York; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army in Italy in the 196th Signal Photo Corps.
He worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad as a photographer in the test department. He then worked for Sam Rey Shops in Hollidaysburg as a quality control inspector until retiring in 1968.
He attended Grace United Methodist Church, Lewistown and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Altoona, serving as superintendent of Sunday schools and senior youth director. He was a life member of Hiram Lodge 616, Altoona and a 50 year member of the Harrisburg Consistory of Freemasons. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Mutual Beneficial Association of the Brotherhood of Railroad Employees; belonged to the Thompsontown Lions, the Walker Grange, and was past president of the East Juniata Band Boosters Association.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 12 at the Alto-Reste Park in Altoona., with the Rev. Ed Moore officiating.
There will be no public viewing.

RICHFIELD - Rebecca V. Beatty, 95, of the Zendt Nursing Home, Richfield, formerly of Beavertown, died at 7:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, at the nursing home.
Born June 17, 1904, in Walker Township, Juniata County, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Austin and Edna Pearl (Keiser) Fulkroad. Her husband, James Robert Beatty, preceded her in death Aug. 17, 1956.
Surviving are: a son, James Robert Beatty II, RR7 Bedford; two sisters, Alice Smith, Beavertown, and Elsie Davis, McAlisterville; a brother, Jay Lloyd Fulkroad, McAlisterville; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter at birth, Barbara Ann; three sisters, Rhetta Carvell, Pearl Hartinger and Isabella Reigle; and three brothers, Henry Austin Fulkroad, Paul Keiser Fulkroad and Karl Fulkroad.
She retired from Charles T. Saylor Shirt Factory in 1982, after 21 years of service as a seamstress. She had also worked at the Standard Shirt Factory for seven years as a machine operator and at the American Viscose.
She was a member of Manbeck Mennonite Church, Beaver Springs RR1.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Beavertown chapel of Aurand Funeral Homes Inc., 316 W. Market St. Beavertown, with the Rev. Carl Geisinger officiating. Interment will be in the Adamsburg Cemetery, Beaver Springs.
Friends may call from 12:30 until the time of the service today at the funeral home.

CARLSBAD, N.M. - William "Leroy" Beaver, 58, of East Derrick Road, Carlsbad, N. M., died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, at his home.
Born March 18, 1941, in Fairview, he was a son of the late Lester and Margaret I. (Stayrook) Beaver. His wife, Phyllis N. (Burton) Beaver, whom he married in 1969.
Also surviving are: daughters, Priscilla Rhodes, Carlsbad, N. M., and Patrilla Wright, Hobbs, N.M.; brothers and sisters, Fred Beaver, Wilmington, Del., Theodore Beaver, Council Bluff, Iowa, and Helen Shotzberger and Esther Peck, both of Lewistown; and five grandchildren.
He was raised in Longfellow and attended both Lewistown and Chief Logan High School.
Early in life, he had worked at a service station and the Chrysler Plant in Wilmington, Del. In 1959, he moved to Carlsbad, where he worked at Garrett Lumber and then at Kerr-McGee Potash (now Mississippi Potash), medically retiring in 1999.
He was a member of Church Street Church of the Nazarene, Carlsbad, N.M.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Church Street Church of the Nazarene, Carlsbad, N.M., with Pastor Ed Kneeland officiating. Interment will be held at Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, N.M.

LEWISTOWN - Harold L. Beckenbaugh, 74, of 270 Jacks Creek Road, Lewistown, died at 4 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2000, at his residence.
Born June 11, 1925, in Spring Run, he was a son of the late Glenn and Sara (Forrester) Beckenbaugh. His wife Vivian (Long) Bratton Beckenbaugh, whom he married in 1975, survives.
Also surviving are: a son, Robert Beckenbaugh, Lewistown; step-children, John Bratton, Christiana, Janet Rhodes, Thompsontown, and Charles Bratton, McVeytown; a brother, Jim Beckenbaugh, Lewistown; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Beckenbaugh.
He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II.
He was an electrician for D.C. Goodman in Mount Union and Lepley's Electric in Lewistown.
He was a member of the Huntingdon VFW.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. William J. Danis officiating. Interment will be in Mount Union Cemetery.

LEWISTOWN - Lester C. Beers, 86, of Valley View Retirement Community and formerly of 26 Valley St., Lewistown, died at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10, 1999, at Valley View Haven, Belleville.
Born on Oct. 19, 1912, in Perry County, he was a son of the late Harry A. and Mary B. (Powell) Beers. His wife, Mabel A. (Lewis) Beers, preceded him in death on March 24, 1994.
He was the last of his immediate family, having been preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
He was employed by Skills of Central Pennsylvania and, in his early life, was employed by Standard Steel. He was a member of Burd House Inc.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Jacob T. Traxler officiating. Interment will be in Mount Rock Cemetery, Lewistown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
EAST WATERFORD - Mary E. Behel, 84, East Waterford RR1, died at 2:47 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born April 13, 1915, in Altoona, she was a daughter of the late Zinc and Bertha B. (Keith) Lafferty. Her husband, William D. Behel, died Oct. 23, 1982.
Surviving are: children, Mary E. Burdge and William D. Behel, both of East Waterford; brother and sister, Chet Lafferty and Sara Gram, both of Altoona; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and making quilts.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the John L. Agett Funeral Home, 18875 Main St., Dry Run, with Pastor Terry Lafferty officiating. Interment will be in Upper Tuscarora Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Waterloo.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and from noon until the time of the services Friday at the funeral home.

LEWISTOWN - Thelma M. Behel, 93, a resident of Ohesson Manor, Lewistown, formerly of 217 Bratton Ave., Lewistown, died at 4:20 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 1999, at the manor.
Born Feb. 19, 1906, in Clearfield, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Fay and Jessie (Dale) Henderson. Her husband, George A. Behel, died Aug. 2, 1985.
Surviving are: a sister, Mrs. Samuel (Montie) Lewis, East Petersburg; stepsons, John C. Behel, Mechanicsburg and George R. Behel, Orlando, Fla.; and several step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
She worked in the coning department of the American Viscose Corporation for 30 years, retiring in 1956.
She was a member of the Lewistown Presbyterian Church.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Bruce A. Hinderliter officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Rock Cemetery.
