Jerry T. Walls
Born Sept. 17, 1926, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late John T. and Bessie M. (Smetzer) Walls. His wife, Pearl E. (Gonsman) Walls, whom he married in 1948, survives.
Also surviving are: a son, Jerry I. Walls, 201 Tuscarora St., Port Royal; sisters, Anna M. Hampton, Malta Home, Granville, Eleanor Miller, Sherwood Drive, Lewistown, and Flo Wileman, Hawstone; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Walls, Bruce Walls, and William Walls.
He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was a laborer and worked for Overhead Door Corporation, retiring in 1991.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with the Rev. Jacob T. Traxler officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Carole A. Walter
Born April 28, 1946, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of Anna Dobson, New Lancaster Valley and the late Clayton H.W. Lash. Her husband, Roger "Fuzz" Walter, whom she married Nov. 23, 1974, survives .
Also surviving are: children, Jessica Walter and Robert Walter, at home, and Tony Lash, McClure; sister and brothers, Mary Knepp, Thomas Lash and Charles Lash, all of New Lancaster Valley; stepfather, James Dobson, New Lancaster Valley; stepsisters and stepbrothers, Brenda Fisher and Phyllis Fisher, both of McClure RR, Barbara Knepp, Middlecreek, Mary Edminston, North Carolina, Martin Dobson, New Lancaster Valley, James Dobson Jr., Burnham; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Clayton Lee Lash.
She had worked for the former Beaver Shoe Factory, Lyon Fashions and Scotty Fashions. She enjoyed sewing.
Services were held Thursday, with Pastor Nancy Moyer officiating. Interment was in the Vira United Methodist Cemetery.

The McClure Chapel of Aurand Funeral Homes Inc., North Brown Street, McClure, was in charge of arrangements.
Dorothy R. Walter
Born March 30, 1910, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Ella (Brought) Mackneer. Her husband, Blain A. Walter Sr., whom she married Aug. 17, 1929, died July 12, 1985.
Surviving are: children, Blain Walter Jr., Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Gavel, Mrs. Russell (Ruth) Rose, all of Essex, Md., Mrs. Herbert (Arla) Patton, Riceville, Tenn., Mrs. George (Clara) Smith, Reedsville, Mrs. William (Marie) Deimler, Tularosa, NM, Mrs. Vas (Joyce) Balamontes, Northeast, Md., Mrs. Charles (Judy) Malone, Burkittville, Md., and Janet Ford , Ridgely, W. Va.; 31 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was the last of her immediate family having been preceded in death by a son, Dale Walter; brothers and sisters, Walter Mackneer, Lewis Mackneer, Earnest Mackneer, Joseph Mackneer, Lelita Moyer, Lydia Mackneer, Myrtle Mackneer, and Mary Mackneer.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Bruzinski Funeral Home, Essex, Md.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Miriam M. Walter
Born Feb. 3, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Phillip A. and Minnie M. (Martin) Apple. Her first husband, Charles "Tiney" Earnest, died in 1944 and her second husband, Roswell Walter, died in 1965.
Surviving are: a daughter, Marjorie E. Schilling, Cache, Okla.; a sister, Dorothy Lefferts, Mount Pleasant Mills; one granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.
She was a seamstress at the former Charles T. Saylor Shirt Factory for 15 years and she also provided daycare for many area families.
She was a member of the Beavertown God's Missionary Church, Middleburg RR1, where she taught Sunday school in the Primary Department for many years.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Beavertown chapel of the Aurand Funeral Homes Inc., 316 W. Market St., Beavertown, with the Rev. James Plank officiating.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mardella R. Walters
Born Nov. 22, 1934, in Kistler, Mifflin County, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Reck and Alverta (Myers) Reck Keller. Her husband, Clyde A. Walters, whom she married July 2, 1957, survives.
Also surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Dean (Jana) Hutchinson, Mifflin; brother and sister, Lawrence Reck, Manheim and Delores Price, Port Ritchey, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
She was retired from Scotties Fashion, Lewistown.
She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Mifflin and a former member of the International Garment Worker's Union.
She enjoyed working with various crafts and shopping.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Mifflin, with the Rev. George S. Reynolds officiating. Interment will be in St. Stephen's Lutheran Cemetery, Licking Creek Valley.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown and from 1 p.m. until the time of the services Sunday at the church.

Louise L. Ward
Born Nov. 24, 1924, in McClure, she was a daughter of the late Ira C. and Susan Ella (Lepley) Kline. Her husband, Tennis A. Ward, whom she married April 5, 1947, preceded her in death on June 26, 1990.
Surviving are: a daughter, Susan C. Rager, McClure; two sons, Ronald L. Ward, York, and Andrew K. Ward, McClure RR2; a brother, Robert Kline, Burnham; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters. Pauline Maurer and True Wilson, and three brothers, Ned, Sherman and Spencer Kline.
She retired from Saylor Shirt Factory, Beavertown, and had previously worked at Standard Shirt Factory, McClure.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, McClure.
She enjoyed fishing, walking and spending time with family.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the McClure chapel of Aurand Funeral Homes Inc., North Brown Street, McClure, with the Rev. Phil Thorsen officiating.
Interment will be in McClure Union Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. today at the funeral home, when family be present from 7-9 p.m.

David M. Warner Sr.
Born Dec. 1, 1945, in Altoona, he was a son of Virginia E. (Maines) Britcher of Mifflintown RR1 and the late Samuel J. Warner. His wife, M. Darlene "Maggy" (Fike) Warner, died Feb. 15, 1999.
Also surviving are: children, David M. Warner Jr., Mexico, Richard C. Warner, Port Royal, and Kelly M. Wakefield, Thompsontown; a sister, Mrs. Stanley (Pam) Richardson, Mifflintown RR4; seven grandchildren; stepfather, Jay E. Britcher, Mifflintown RR1; and a step-brother, David J. Britcher, Mifflintown RR1.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel B. Warner, on Oct. 29, 1996.
He was a 1963 graduate of Juniata Joint High School, Mifflintown.
He retired as a foreman for Conrail, where he worked in the diesel shop in Enola.
He was a life member of the Mifflin Fire Co. and the United Railway Supervisors Association.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal, with Pastor Joe Samples officiating. Interment will be in the New Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Sara Frances Swanger Warner
Born April 13, 1911, in Mifflin County, she was a daughter of the late Clayton and Mary (Sheehan) Swanger. Her husband, John A. Warner, died Nov. 29, 1976.
Surviving are: children, Bernyce Aumiller of Lewistown and Thomas Swanger of State College; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She had been employed as a food service worker at Penn State for 14 1/2 years before retiring in 1973. Prior to that she worked at the Arrow Shirt Factory in Lewistown.
She was a member of the Woodycrest United Methodist Church in State College.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Koch Funeral Home, State College, with the Rev. Michael G. Trimmer officiating. Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery, Lewistown.
Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. until the time of services Monday at the funeral home.

MILROY - Jerry T. Walls, 72, of 632 Naginey Road, Milroy, died at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, 1999, in the emergency room of the Lewistown Hospital.
MCCLURE - Carole A. Walter, 53, of McClure, died at 4:43 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, at Beverly Healthcare-William Penn, Lewistown, where she had been a resident for the past two weeks.
MT. AIRY, Md. - Dorothy R. Walter, 89, a resident of the Pleasant View Nursing Home, Mt. Airy, Md., formerly of Reedsville and Essex, Md., died Tuesday, July 13, 1999, at the nursing home.
SELINSGROVE - Miriam M. Walter, 90, a resident of Penn Lutheran Village, Selinsgrove, formerly of Beavertown, died at 10 a.m. Monday, March 8, 1999, at the village.
MIFFLINTOWN - Mardella R. Walters, 65, of Mifflintown RR3 (Rockville), died at 3:04 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, in the emergency room of Lewistown Hospital.
GRANVILLE - Louise L. Ward, 75, of the Malta Home, Granville, formerly of McClure, died at 9:30 p.m. Jan. 27, 2000, at the Malta Home.
MIFFLINTOWN - David M. Warner Sr., 53, of Mifflintown RR2, formerly of Mifflin, died at 9:28 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 1999, in the emergency room of Lewistown Hospital.
STATE COLLEGE - Sara Frances Swanger Warner, 88, of State College died Friday, April 30, 1999, at her home.
