BELLEVILLE - Annie B. Yoder, 90, of Valley View Haven, Belleville, and formerly of Milroy, died at 2:05 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, at the nursing home. Born Sept. 2, 1909, in Belleville RR, she was a daughter of the late John S. and Sallie (Yoder) Peachey. Her husband, Albert M. Yoder, died May 10, 1980. Surviving are a son, Floyd J. Yoder, Belleville; a sister, Linnie L. Peachey, Belleville; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters. She was a homemaker, and a member of Locust Grove Mennonite Church and the Valley View Haven Auxiliary. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Valley View Haven Chapel, Belleville, with the Rev. Max Zook and the Rev. Erie Renno officiating. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m until the time of services Thursday at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Valley View Haven, 4702 E. Main St., Belleville, PA 17004, or to Locust Grove Mennonite Church, 3358 W. Main St., Belleville, PA 17004. Donald E. Baggus Funeral Home, Belleville, is in charge of arrangements.
BELLEVILLE - Baby Boy Yoder was stillborn Sunday, April 18, 1999, at the home of his parents, Korie L. and Annie M. (Swarey) Yoder of 4598 Front Mountain Road, Belleville. Surviving are: brothers and sister, Stephen N. Yoder, David J. Yoder, and Anna M.Yoder, all at home; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Noah B. Yoder, Belleville; and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen F. Swarey, Allensville. Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Monday at Whitehall Amish Cemetery, Belleville. Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, was in charge of arrangements.
MATTAWANA - Caroline M. Yoder, 96, of Beverly Healthcare-William Penn, Lewistown, formerly of Mattawana, died at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000 at the nursing home. Born Jan. 20, 1904 in Mattawana, she was a daughter of the late David J. and Carrie F. (Setzler) Yoder. Surviving are a brother and sister, Gerald D. Yoder and Myra Kauffman, both of McVeytown RD, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Richard W. Yoder, Donald L. Yoder and Helen Yoder and Mabel Shehan. She was a school teacher for more than 40 years, having taught in several one-room schoolhouses in Bratton, Oliver and Wayne townships. She retired as a second-grade teacher from Mattawana Consolidated School in 1969. She was a member of Pine Glen Church of the Brethren, where she taught Sunday school for many years. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pine Glen Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Donald E. Peters Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the Pine Glen Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 p.m. Sunday until the time of services at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Pine Glen Church of the Brethren, 61 Pine Glen Road, Lewistown, PA 17044. BELLEVILLE - Catherine E. Yoder, 94, a resident of Valley View Haven, Belleville, formerly of Maple Grove Road, Belleville, died at 7:20 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, at Valley View. Born July 6, 1905, in Mill Creek, Star Route, she was the daughter of the late Joshua B. and Mary Ellen (Zook) Zook. Her husband, Elmer E. Yoder, died July 4, 1976. Surviving are: children, Willard J. Yoder, Huntingdon RR2, Roland G. Yoder, Belleville, Mrs. Robert (Marie) Allison, Hickory Lane, Mill Creek, Mrs. Leonard (Ruby) Yoder, Allensville, Mrs. James (Rhoda) Campbell, Belleville RR, and John K. Yoder, Sarasota, Fla.; sisters, Fannie R. Zook, Allensville and Mary Yohn, Allensville, whom her parents raised; 18 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughters, Shirley Grace and Rachel Yoder; son, Peter E. Yoder; sisters, Phoebe Oyer, Anna Zook, and Bertha Zook; brother, Chauncey Zook; two grandsons and one granddaughter. She was a homemaker and a member of the Maple Grove Mennonite Church, where she was a member of the Beacon Light Sunday School Class and a song leader. She enjoyed gardening with flowers and vegetables. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Maple Grove Mennonite Church, Belleville, with ministers Kenneth E. Litwiller and Galen Sharp officiating. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Belleville. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Donald E. Baggus Funeral Home, Belleville. LEWISTOWN - David W. Yoder, 53, of 209 Peach Orchard Road, Lewistown, died at 11:16 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2000, at his residence. Born Sept. 13, 1946, in Lycoming County, he was a son of Mae E. (Eck) Browne of State College and the late David H. Yoder. His wife, G. Jane (Sunderland) Yoder of 209 Peach Orchard Road, Lewistown, whom he married May 22, 1977, survives. Also surviving are: children, David W. Yoder Jr., Reedsville, Christopher L. Yoder, Krista Everly and Julie Swope, all of Lewistown, Jennifer Yoder, Lancaster, and Jannette Rapp, Yeagertown; brothers and sisters, Susan Maples, Houston, Texas, Gary Yoder, Bonnie Martin, and Connie Stahlman, all of Bellefonte, John Yoder and Skip Browne, both of State College, and Donald Browne, Howard; and three grandchildren. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was general manager at Foss Jewelers in State College. He was a member of the Lewistown Lodge F&AM No. 203, the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and the Lewistown Kiwanis Club. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Ralph Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery, Lewistown, where graveside military rites will be conducted by VFW Post 7011, Lewistown. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, where a masonic service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Brookline Hospice, 230 S. ALLENSVILLE - Elizabeth M. Yoder, 89, a resident of Valley View Haven, formerly of 371 Allensville Mountain Road, Allensville, died at 7:27 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, 1999, at the retirement home. Born Aug. 8, 1909, in Belleville RR, she was the daughter of the late Jonathan D. and Mary (Yoder) Kanagy. Her husband, Irvin L. Yoder, died in November of 1978. Surviving are: children, George T. Yoder, Churchville, Va., and Kathleen Lin, Chicago, Ill.; brothers and sisters, Amanda Kanagy, Aaron D. Kanagy, Verna M. Peachey, and Jonathan D. Kanagy, all of Belleville; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lina Peachey and Mary Peachey, and a brother, Amandus Kanagy. She was a retired kindergarten teacher who taught at St. John Lutheran Church, Belleville, and later at the Belleville Mennonite School. Also, she served as librarian at the Allensville Library for 10 years before retiring. She was a member of the Allensville Mennonite Church and a former Sunday school teacher. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Allensville Mennonite Church, with the Rev. Philip Barr and the Rev. Paul Bender officiating. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at the Donald E. Baggus Funeral Home, Belleville. CHRISTIANA - John I. Yoder, 85, of 60 Buck Run Road, Christiana, died on Saturday, April 10, 1999, at the Fairmount Rest Home, Ephrata. Born in Belleville, he was the son of the late Jesse and Sadie (Yoder) Yoder. His first wife, Agnes E. (Kauffman) Yoder, died in 1966. His second wife, Ada R. (Kurtz) Yoder, whom he married March 25, 1967, survives. Also surviving are: children, Mrs. Wilmer (Gladys L.) Martin, East Earl, Vernon C. Yoder, Christiana, Mrs. Melvin L. (Carol Jean) Beiler, Gordonville, Mrs. Charles G. (Fern) Bauman, Leola, Mrs. LaVern J. (Janie) Yutzy, Lititz, John D. Yoder, New Holland, and Glenn R. Yoder, Terre Hill; brothers and sister, Chester Yoder, Hatfield, Norman C. Yoder, Phoenix, Ariz., and Barbara Peachey, Belleville; 19 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Yoder and a sister, Amanda Byler. He was a farmer in the Christiana area. He was a member of the Maple Grove Mennonite Church, Atglen, where he was a past Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed hunting and reading his Bible. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Maple Grove Mennonite Church, 549 Swan Road, Atglen, with the Rev. Herman N. Glick and the Rev. Enno E. Jurrison officiating. Interment will be in Millwood Mennonite Cemetery in Gap. Friends may call from 6:30-8:30 p.m. today at the church and from noon until the time of the service Tuesday at the church. BELLEVILLE - Jonas D. Yoder, 82, of 702 Schoolhouse Road, Belleville, died at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 1999, at his residence. Born April 24, 1916, in Belleville, he was the son of the late Noah D. and Lizzie B. (Peachey) Yoder. His first wife, Nancy B. (Renno) Yoder, died Oct. 11, 1983. His second wife, Katie L. (Bender) Yoder, survives. Also surviving are: children, Sadie R. Peachey, Muncy, Mollie R. Peachey, Noah D. Yoder, and Lizzie N. Kanagy, all of Belleville; brothers and sisters, John N. Yoder, Oakland, Md., Sadie Brenneman, Stanwood, Mich., Mary E. Swarey, Beaver, Ohio, Korie N. Yoder, Allensville, Annie B. Kanagy, Fannie M. Peachey, and Noah B. Yoder, all of Belleville; 41 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and nine step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three children, Katie R. Peight, John K. Yoder, and Leroy J. Yoder; an infant brother and brother, Rufus Yoder; and a sister, Amelia E. Brenneman. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Old Order Amish. Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Daniel N. Peachey residence, Schoolhouse Road, Belleville, with the ministers, John K. Brenneman and David M. Yoder officiating. Interment will be in White Hall Amish Cemetery, Belleville. Friends may call from noon-8 p.m. today at the Yoder residence, 702 Schoolhouse Road, Belleville.
