BEAVER SPRINGS - Harvey A. Keefer, 88, of Beaver Springs RR1, died at 7:25 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at his home, following a brief illness. Born April 15, 1912, in Fisherville, Dauphin County, he was a son of the late Charles S. and Cora E. (Hassinger) Keefer. His wife, Marjorie M. (Schechterly) Keefer, to whom he was married April 15, 1934 by her father, Rev. John R. Schechterly, in McClure, survives. Also surviving are: three daughters, Mrs. Elmer R. "Bud" (Marian J.) Reed, Carlisle, Mrs. Gerald E. (Darlis S.) Aumiller, Mechanicsburg and Mrs. Wayne (Marjorie "Peggy") Aigler, Beavertown; sister and brother, Mary Wetzel, Elmira, NY and Clarence Keefer, Norristown; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Keiter and four brothers, Norman, Marlin, Ralph and Elmer Keefer. He was a member of Beavertown United Methodist Church. In 1974, he retired from the Selinsgrove Center after 17 years in the laundry department. Earlier in life, he worked at Standard Steel, Burnham and the former Keefer Roller Mills. He enjoyed watching birds, gardening and fishing. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Beavertown United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Thomas Schroeder officiating. Interment will be in the Adamsburg Cemetery, Beaver Springs. Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the services Tuesday at the church. There will be no evening viewing. The Aurand Funeral Home, Beavertown, is in charge of arrangements.
REEDSVILLE - Betty F. Keiser, 77, of 5844 E. Back Mountain Road, Reedsville (Barrville), died at 11:05 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2000, at Lewistown Hospital. Born Aug. 27, 1922, in Reedsville, she was a daughter of the late William F. and Stella (Worrall) Royer. Her husband, Marlin E. Keiser, died March 14, 1974. Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Marlene) Smith, 402 Electric Ave., Lewistown; sisters and brothers, Gladys E. Seiler, Mrs. Ronald (Mary) Henry, Fred H. Royer, James P. Royer, Ronald K. Royer, all of Lewistown, Mrs. Jack (Dorothy) Bradley, Mrs. Harold (Eleanore) Smith, Edward L. Royer, Robert L. Royer, Marlin E. Royer, Glenn P. Royer, all of Burnham, Helen E. Strange, Freemont, Calif., Mildred I. Majestic, Berwick, William F. Royer, Disputanta, Va., and Charles L. Royer, Belleville; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Dean E. Keiser, on Jan. 8, 1961. She worked for 30 years in the tire fabric department of the American Viscose-FMC Corporation, retiring in 1974. Services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Donald E. Baggus Funeral Home, Belleville, with the Rev. Gerald Peachey and the Rev. Raymond S. Peachey officiating. Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville. There will be no viewing. Memorial contributions may be made to Barrville Mennonite Church, 48 Barrville Mountain Road, Reedsville, PA 17084.
MCCLURE - Louise P. Keiser, 70, of McClure, died at 8:58 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at her home, following an extended illness. Born April 16, 1930, in Decatur Township, Mifflin County, she was the daughter of the late Russell V. and Naomi P. (Bowersox) Knepp. Her husband, William L. Keiser, whom she married May 7, 1952, died June 17, 2000. She is survived by children, Mrs. Rohn (Patricia A.) Ledden, Richard N. Keiser and Kenneth W. Keiser, both of McClure; a child she helped raise, Brad Wright, McClure; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Zelepha) Sheriff and Mrs. Howard (L. Joanne) Lindsey, both of Lewistown, June E. L. Wright, Luther Knepp, Calvin Knepp and Gary Knepp, all of McClure; two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister and eight brothers. She worked with her husband on their farm until his retirement in 1980. She was a member of Samuel's Church, McClure, a member of the Bannerville Fire Company and the ladies auxiliary. She enjoyed listening to music. Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the McClure chapel of Aurand Funeral Homes, North Brown Street, McClure, with the Rev. Clark Kelsey officiating. Interment will be in the Samuel's Church Cemetery, McClure RR1. MCCLURE - William L. Keiser, 79, of McClure, died at 2:32 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 2000, at Lewistown Hospital. Born May 27, 1921, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Earl and Dessie (Stuck) Keiser. His wife, Louise (Knepp) Keiser, whom he married May 7, 1952, survives. Also surviving are: children, Mrs. Rohn (Patricia A.) Ledden, Richard N. Keiser, and Kenneth W. Keiser, all of McClure; a child, Brad Wright, McClure, whom he helped to raise; a sister, Mrs. Ronald (Shirley) Summers, Mifflintown; two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an aunt and uncle who raised him, William and Bertha Keiser; five sisters, Mary Jackson, Helen Hubbart, Sarah Murphy, Dorothy Harlon, and Kathryn Kreamer, and a brother, Francis Keiser. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He retired from farming in 1980 after 43 years on his Decatur Township farm. He was a member of the Bannerville Fire Company and he enjoyed hunting and nature. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Beavertown chapel of Aurand Funeral Homes, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown, with the Rev. Clark Kelsey officiating. Interment will be in the Samuel's Church Cemetery, McClure RR1, where graveside military services will be provided by the American Legion Post 942, McClure. Friends may call 4-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where family will be present 7-9 p.m.
LOYSVILLE - Robert B. Keith, 81, of Loysville RR1, died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2000, at Harrisburg Hospital. Born Oct. 30, 1919, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late William A. and Nancy (Zimmerman) Keith. His wife, R. Alma Keith, survives. Also surviving are: children, William V. Keith, Portsmouth, Va., Robert B. Keith Jr., Newalla, Okla., John A. Keith, Newport, Mary A. Keith, Tampa Fla., Rose A. Reynolds, Boulder, Colo., and Nan C. O'Shea, Hanover; three grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a 1946 graduate of Penn State University. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired salesman for Helena Chemical Company, Shrewsberry. He was a member of the American Legion Post 177, Newport; a member of Gamma Sigma Delta Agricultural Society; the Ickesburg Lions Club; and the Pennsylvania Potato Growers. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville. Private interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville RR2. MIFFLINTOWN - Tressie M. Kendrick, 87, of Brookline Manor, formerly of Mifflintown, died at 3 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, 2000, at Brookline Manor. Born on Feb. 1, 1913, in Juniata County, she was daughter of the late Charles and Catherine (Henry) Bardell. Her husband, Melvin S. Kendrick, died Aug. 11, 1995. Also surviving are: a sister, Pauline Davis of Dillsburg; a step-brother, Paul Leach of Blain; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Wesley Bardell, a step-brother, Robert Leach, and a step-sister, Helen Cross. She had worked for Triangle Pacific in Thompsontown in cabinet finishing. She was also a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Services wil be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with Jack Taylor officiating. Interment will be at the New Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
JACKSON, N.J. - Emily Madeline Kennedy, 77, of Jackson, N.J., died Friday, June 2, 2000, at Kimball Hospital, Lakewood, N. J. Born Jan. 30, 1923, in Belleville, she was a daughter of the late Maxwell T. and Harriet (Price) Dahlen. Her husband, Robert Kennedy, preceded her in death. Surviving are: a daughter, Helen P. Stark, New Hampton, N.H.; stepmother, Marion (Bulick) Dahlen, Belleville; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by sister and brother, Kathleen Bonfiglio and Frederic John Dahlen. Funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family, with the Rev. Lois Martin officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Belleville. Donald E. Baggus Funeral Home, Belleville is in charge of local arrangements.
MULDROW, Okla. - Ruth M. Zook Kerling, 92, formerly of Belleville, died Monday, June 19, 2000, at the home of her daughter in Muldrow, Okla. Born April 17, 1908, in Belleville, she was a daughter of the late Amos B. and Mattie (Esch) Glick. Her first husband, Eli K. Zook, died in 1955, and her second husband, Arthur Kerling, died in 1972. Surviving are: children, Marjorie Barcell and Dorcas Millar, both of Muldrow, Okla., and Timothy Zook, Oregon; brother and sister, Mrs. David (Ida) Kanagy, Belleville, and Vernon Glick, Oakland Mills; 18 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. She was a homemaker. Services were held June 20, and interment was in Muldrow, Okla.
