BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. - Pearl I. Klinger, 85, a resident of Meadow View Manor, Bridgeport, W.Va., formerly of West Sixth Street, Lewistown, died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2000, at Meadow View Manor. Born Jan. 7, 1915, in Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Jesse and Anna P. (Woods) Snook. Her husband, Ralph M. "Angy" Klinger, died May 22, 1978. Surviving are: children, Mrs. Glenn A. (Barbara) Knepper, Bridgeport, W.Va. and Keith M. Klinger, West Sixth Street, Lewistown; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by a brother and a sister. She was a homemaker. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family, with the Rev. Jacob T. Traxler officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown. There will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: the American Diabetes Association, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 202, Harrisburg, PA 17110. Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.
SELINSGROVE - Russell M. Klock, 80, of N. Eighth St., Selinsgrove, died at 10 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2000, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg. Born April 23, 1920, in Augustaville, he was the son of the late Joseph and Beulah V. (Hetrick) Klock. His first wife, Marjorie B. (Hummel) Klock, whom he married March 24, 1940, died May 20, 1975. His second wife, Catherine (Waite) Klock, whom he married April 1, 1979, died Dec. 25, 1998. Surviving are: sons, Terrence R. Klock, Bloomsburg and Chris R. Klock, Selinsgrove; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Robert Waite, Beavertown, Paul Waite, Hummelstown, Margaret Keiser, McClure, Alma Mitchell, Troxelville, Linda Weikel, Camp Hill, Connie Ranck, Millmont, and Debra Johnson, Williamsport; 26 step-grandchildren; 46 step-great-grandchildren; and numerous step-great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph David Klock, who died in infancy; and three brothers, Charles Klock, Edwin Klock, and Paul Klock. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater and was awarded four Bronze Stars and the World War II Victory Medal. He worked in construction and then for PennDOT, Snyder County. He retired from Beavertown Knitting, Selinsgrove, where he worked in shipping and receiving. He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, Troxelville, the American Legion, McClure, and was a past member of the LOOM No. 1173, Selinsgrove. He enjoyed reading and gardening. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the V. L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove, with the Rev. Timothy Bingman officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Selinsgrove, with military honors conducted by the VFW and the American Legion, both of Selinsgrove. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to: the American Cancer Society, Central Susquehanna Unit, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701-3945.
BELLEVILLE - Beulah E. Knepp, 90, of 6038 SR 655, Belleville, died at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, at her residence. Born Feb. 20, 1910, in Barrville, she was the daughter of the late Harry Joseph and Gertrude May (Moore) Sweitzer. Her husband, William Allen Knepp, died Jan. 21, 1963. Surviving are: children, Harold B. Randolph, Belleville and Wanda K. Knepp, Reedsville; a sister, Pearl T. Brennon, Kennilworth, NJ; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Gary Allen Knepp in 1941; brothers and sisters, Marian Frankhouser, Clara McKinley, Maurice Sweitzer, Melvin Sweitzer, Eugene Sweitzer, and Arvad Moore. Earlier in life, she had worked at the American Viscose Corporation, Lewistown. She was a member of the Reedsville United Methodist Church and the Dorcas Sunday School Class of the church. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, with the Rev. Richard J. Bender officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Belleville. There will be no viewing. Memorial contributions may be made to: Reedsville United Methodist Church, PO Box 235, Reedsville, PA 17084.
BURNHAM - Clifton V. "Ginny" Knepp, 85, of 422 Dry Valley Road, Burnham, died at 11 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2000, at his residence. Born March 28, 1915 in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Harry M. and Bertha Mae (Oldt) Knepp. His wife Geraldine (Benner) Knepp preceded him in death in 1989. Surviving are: children; Mrs. Kenneth (Geraldine) Furner and Mrs. Joseph (Donna) Sheetz Sr., both of Milroy, and Robert C. Knepp, John E. Knepp and Mrs. Robert (Christine) Soccio, all of Burnham, 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theatre. He was employed in Machine Shop 1 as a machine operator at Standard Steel, Burnham. He retired due to disability in 1976. He was a member of the Walnut Street United Methodist Church, Burnham. He was a member of the United Steelworkers of America, Local 1940, and a member of the American Association of Retired Persons. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, First Avenue, Burnham, with the Rev. Larry K. Lutz officiating. Interment will be in Birch Hill Cemetery, Burnham. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home. The family will provide all funeral flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to Walnut Street United Methodist Church, 203 N. Walnut St., Burnham, PA 17009.
DALLASTOWN - Jacqueline A. Knepp, 69, of Dallastown, died at 6:27 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000, at the York Hospital. Born Nov. 21, 1930, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late John and Geraldine (Getz) Harbst. Her husband, Richard A. Knepp, died Oct. 2, 1991. Surviving are: daughters, Barbara Woerpel and Bonnie Schell, both of York, and Kelly McElroy, Red Lion; brothers, John Harbst Jr. and William Harbst, both of Lewistown; five granddaughters and two great-granddaughters. She was a homemaker. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, with the Rev. Mitchell M. Galloway officiating. Interment will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
LEWISTOWN - Nina C. Romig Knepp, 79, of 407 Columbia St., Lewistown, died at 9:15 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2000, at University Park Nursing Center, 450 Wauplelani Drive, State College. Born Feb. 7, 1921 in Close Mountain, W.Va., she was a daughter of Albert Enos and Tenie Grace (Knotts) Knotts. Her first husband, Paul K. Romig Sr., preceded her in death on May 3, 1968. Her second husband, William G. "Sike" Knepp, preceded her in death on Dec. 16, 1981. Surviving are: children; Paul K. Romig Jr., Bellefonte, Anna Grace Moyle, Mrs. Chuck (Jean) Krepps and Mrs. Gregory (Ruby) Koontz, all of Lewistown, Mrs. Jerry (Jane) Spigelmyer, Burnham and Mrs. Ronald (Ruth) Smalldon, Sun City West, Ariz., brothers and sisters; Mable Gould, Davis, W.Va., Albert Enos Knotts Jr., Brandon, Fla. and Howard Knotts, Biloxi, Miss., 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. She worked for many years as a custodian of the Masonic Temple of Lewistown. She was a member of the Gospel Chapel Church of Lewistown. A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hoenstine Funeral Home, Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with Mr. Charles Arentz officiating. Interment will be in Salem Cemetery, Milroy RD. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. LEWISTOWN - Millard A. Knepp, 73, of 119 S. Walnut St., Lewistown, died at 1:01 p.m. Thursday, July 27, 2000, at Lewistown Hospital. Born Oct. 30, 1926, in Burnham, he was a son of the late William Andrew and Hilda (Gringich) Knepp and stepmother, the late Viola (Gilbert) Knepp, who raised him. His wife, Pearl (Kreps) Knepp, died in 1991. Surviving are: children, Mrs. Lynn (Beverly) Goodhart, Belleville, Gary Lee Knepp Sr. and Robert J. Knepp, both of Lewistown, and Barbara J. Knepp, at home; brother and sister, William "Billy" Stimely and Phyllis Wilson, both of Lewistown; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Dean E. Knepp, in 1980. He retired from Overhead Door Inc., Lewistown, where he was a truck driver for 17 years before retiring due to disability in 1989. He was a member of Vira United Methodist Church and later attended Salvation Army Church. He was a member of the Lewistown Moose Lodge 143, the Granville Grange, the Central District Volunteer Firemans Association and a life member and former secretary-treasurer of United Fire Company. He was also a former officer of the Mifflin County Playground Association, a former officer of Woodlawn Playground Association, a past president of Lewistown Legion of the Moose, and he volunteered at Ohesson Manor, Lewistown. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with Captain Eddie Purvis and the Rev. Richard W. Shilling officiating. Interment will be in Vira United Methodist Cemetery. Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where a special Moose Memorial Service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to: the Salvation Army, 9 S. Dorcas St., Lewistown, PA 17044, or United Fire and Rescue, 26 W. Third St., Lewistown, PA 17044.
LEWISTOWN - Rosanna M. Knorr, 82, a resident of Ohesson Manor, Lewistown, formerly of 808 W. Fourth St., Lewistown, died at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000, at the nursing home. Born July 8, 1918, in Sunbury, she was the daughter of the late Harry William and Carolyn C. (Weir) Bottomstone. Her husband, Donald Knorr, died in 1978. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters. She was employed in the accounting department of the American Viscose Corporation for 12 years. She was Methodist by faith. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Ted Janke officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park. Friends may call 7-9 pm. today and from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the services Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: the American Cancer Society, 26 N. Brown St., Lewistown, PA 17044.
