Wilmer Lee Lockett Sr.
JACKSONVILLE - Wilmer Lee Lockett Sr., 80, of Jacksonville, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, in Howard. Born July 9, 1920, in Belscena Mills, Clearfield County, he was the son of the late John and Emma Lockett. He is survived by a companion, Geraldine Gates, her seven children, 23 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also surviving are: children, Mrs. Donald (Evelyn) Knouse and Wilmer Lockett Jr., both of Lewistown and Harold Lockett, Mifflintown; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Ira (Martha) Knepper, Lewistown, Lloyd Lockett, East Waterford, and Mrs. Paul (Florence) Henry, Burnham; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by six sisters and one brother, Nellie Demovick, Clair Lockett Sr., Maude Fultz, Edith Knepp, Laura Yarevitz, Bertha Farleman, and Emma Jane Lockett. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. He retired from Koffmans Trucking, Bellefonte. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the W. Robert Neff Funeral Home, 837 Main St., Howard, with Pastor Pat Ficarra officiating. Interment will be in the Jacksonville Cemetery, Marion Township.

Carl W. Logan Sr.
BRADFORD - Carl W. Logan Sr., 70, of 106 Tuna Cross Road, Bradford, died Saturday Dec. 2, 2000, at Bradford Regional Medical Center. Born July 30, 1930, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Carl and Florence (Eisenhower) Logan. His wife, Shirley M. (Norton) Logan, whom he married Dec. 26, 1967 in Dallas, Texas, died May 19, 1998. Surviving are: children, Carl W. Logan Jr., Seattle, Wash., Cindy Thompson, Jamestown, NY, Denise Benjamin, New York City, NY and Rhonda Logan, Yorktown Heights, NY; sisters and brothers, Lucile Boyer, Linda Hensel, Barb Sechrist, Joanne Markley, Roger Logan, and Joseph Logan, all of Lewistown, Geraldine Hunter, Hobart, Ind., Carol Marrow and Peggy Persey, both of Mesquite, Texas, and Fenton Logan, Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was a 1948 graduate of Lewistown High School. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He worked as a chemical salesman for Apter Industries. Early in life, he worked with his father in the restaurant business and after the service, he managed the JC Penny Store in Bradford and worked for Montgomery Ward store in Texas. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 33 South Ave., Bradford, with the Rev. Mark Hollis, pastor of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, officiating. Interment will be in Limestone Cemetery, New York. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Family requests donations be made to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.

Joseph J. Lommo
BURNHAM - Joseph J. Lommo, 75, of Fifth Avenue, Burnham, died at 2:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000, at Lewistown Hospital. Born Dec. 10, 1924, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Domenico A. and Maryanna (Mangino) Lommo. Surviving are: brothers and sisters, Florence S. DeLauretis and Mrs. Frank (Eleanor) Troiani, both of Lewistown, Mrs. Elmer (Rosie) Iovine, Lock Haven, Mary L. Bender, Milroy and John J. Lommo, Reedsville. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. He attended Temple University and the Gulliard School of Music, New York. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theatre. He was a professional jazz musician, having played the banjo, guitar, and bass for many professional bands. He was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 106 N. Dorcas St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Father Thomas Marickovic officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, where full military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 7011, Lewistown. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, where Rosary services will be held at 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to: the Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 106 N. Dorcas St., Lewistown, PA 17044.

Irene M. (Hamman) Long
ORANGEVILLE - Irene M. (Hamman) Long, 88, formerly of 183 Valley View Street, Orangeville, (Stony Brook Circle), died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, at the Orangeville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born Sept. 30,1912, in Entricken, she was a daughter of the late Harry Edgar and Margaret (Brindle) Hamman. Her husband, Earl C. Long, died May 13, 1949. She is survived by nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by six children, Carl E. Long on Dec. 15, 1971; William E. Long on July 7, 1934; Dorothy M. Long on Sept. 27, 1933; John N. Long on Sept. 30, 1965; Gary L. Long on May 15, 1993 ; and Beverly I. Romig Pennypacker on Feb. 19, 1989; and a granddaughter, Patricia Long on June 25, 1981. She worked at the Viscose silk mills in Lewistown in her younger years. She had also worked as a cook in the Mechanicsburg area and later owned and operated a boarding home in Indiana, Pa. She retired in 1984. She was very active in the VFW and was a past president of the Lewistown VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Her hobbies included shuffleboard. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Lind Memorial Cemetery in Lewistown, with the Rev. Douglas H. Lyon, Pastor of the Shiloh Bible Church in Almedia, officiating. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. today at the McMichael Funeral Home, 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton.

Janet A. Long
PORT ROYAL - Janet A. Long, 82, of Port Royal RR1, died at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at Brookline Manor Convalescent Home, Mifflintown RR1. Born Sept. 28, 1917, in Port Royal, she was the daughter of the late Merton W. and Maude (Yeigh) Long. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lois M. Long and a brother, Merton W. Long Jr. She was a life member of the Port Royal Lutheran Church. Private graveside services will be held at the Old Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal, with the Rev. Marton J. Roberson officiating. Interment will follow. There will be no viewing. Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal, is in charge of arrangements.

Naomi Eleanor Long
MILLERSTOWN - Naomi Eleanor Long, 77, of Millerstown RR2, died at 11:12 p.m. Tuesday, July 4, 2000, at the Lewistown Hospital. Born April 24, 1923, in Greenwood Township, Juniata County, she was the daughter of the late Cloyd Edward and Mary Elizabeth (Tschopp) Long. She is survived by a brother, Roland E. Long, Kaysville, Utah; a sister, Mrs. Warren H. (Carolyn G.) Ferguson, Millerstown; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, William G. Long in 1969 and James O. Long in 1974, and a sister, Minola Mather in 1995. She was educated in the former Wilt's Grammar Schoolhouse and the Centre Grammar Schoolhouse, both in Greenwood Township. She worked as a discrepancy clerk for the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue, Harrisburg for 30 years, retiring in 1970. She loved gardening. She was Lutheran by faith and attended the Faith Lutheran Church, Richfield RR1. She was a member of the Millerstown Fire Co. and its ambulance league. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the George P. Garman Funeral Home, Mount Pleasant Mills, with the Rev. Timothy W. Bingman officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Millerstown RR2. Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the services Sunday at the funeral home.

Lloyd L. 'Lad' Lyter II
HAMLIN, W.Va. - Lloyd L. "Lad" Lyter II, 52, of Hamlin, W.Va., formerly of Lewistown, died Friday, July 21, 2000, at his home. Born Nov. 7, 1947, in Rome, NY, he was the son of Lloyd L. Lyter of Bradenton, Fla. and the late Mildred (Goff) Lyter. His wife, Linda (York) Lyter, survives. Also surviving are: children, Mrs. Sam (Tracy) Smith, Cross Lanes, W.Va., Salina Lyter, Hamlin, W.Va., and Todd Lyter, Okinawa, Japan; a sister, Lynn L. McDonald, Bradenton, Fla.; and five grandchildren. He was a graduate of Auburn University, Auburn, Ala. He was a chemical engineer and former employee with the State of West Virginia D.E.P. He was also a musician and currently played with The Just Squirrels Band. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Riverside Pavilion in Coonskin Park, Charleston, W. Va., with Steve Hill officiating. Private burial will be held at a later date. Friends may call from 5:30 p.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the park. Memorial contributions may be made to: the Lloyd Lyter II Memorial Education Fund, PO Box 305, Hamlin, WV 25523. The Elk Funeral Home, Charleston, W. Va., is in charge of arrangements.

Audrey J. Macknair
LEWISTOWN - Audrey J. Macknair, 70, of Ohesson Manor, Lewistown, formerly of 3055 U.S. Highway 522N, Lewistown, died at 6:25 p.m. Monday, Sept.11, 2000 at the nursing home. Born March 23, 1930 in Decatur Township, Mifflin County, she was a daughter of the late Ammon M. and Mona (Deamer) Spigelmyer. Her husband Blaine W. Macknair, whom she married July 29, 1949, survives. Also surviving are: children, Mrs. Lee (Teresa) Cunningham, 538 Alfarata Road, Lewistown, Mrs. Gary (Shirley) Mummah, McAlisterville RR1, and Mona Macknair, Mark Perry and Norman L. Macknair, all of Lewistown; a brother Melvin Spigelmyer, Flowertown; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Stephen Cunningham, an infant brother, Robert Spigelmyer, and a sister, Evelyn Winegardner. Early in life, she was employed at the Arrow Shirt Factory and then became a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was an avid cake-baker and bingo player, and she also sewed hand-made Barbie doll clothing. She was a member of the Women's Moose Lodge No.143. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Inc., 108 First Ave., Burnham, with the Rev. Clyde B. Singh and the Rev. Ted Janke officiating. Interment will be in Vira Methodist Cemetery. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mifflin-Juniata American Cancer Society, 26 N. Brown St., Lewistown, or to the American Diabetes Association, 2040 Linglestown Rd., Suite 106, Harrisburg, PA 17110-9568.
