LEWISTOWN - Marie C. Mohler, 96, of 9 Shaw Ave., Lewistown, died at 5:45 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at Ohesson Manor. Born May 25, 1904, in Belltown, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Sallie S. (Goss) McClellan. Her husband, Samuel B. Mohler, died Sept. 14, 1983. Surviving are: sons, Lynn S. Mohler, 1922 N. Daniel St., Arlington, Va. and Richard M. Mohler, 12 Fairview Place, Lewistown; brother and sisters, Luther T. McClellan, 413 E. Walnut St., Lewistown, Mrs. Robert (Maybelle) Phenicie Heisler, 203 Grand Parkway N., Lewistown, and Evelyn McClellan, 411 E. Walnut St., Lewistown; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. She was a sales clerk for many area businesses and in early life, she was employed at the American Viscose Corporation. She was a member of the Calvary Bible Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Roger Reece officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Rock Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of the services Sunday at the funeral home. YEAGERTOWN - Walter C. "Whitey" Molek, 77, of 27 Eden Drive, Yeagertown, died at 4 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2000, at 220 Ewardtown Road, Burnham. Born Jan. 11, 1923, in Daisytown, he was a son of the late Jozef and Emily (Galica) Molek. His wife, Marguerite (Kerstetter) Molek, whom he married in 1947, survives. Surviving are: three sons, David W. Molek, Yeagertown, Joseph M. Molek, Reedsville, and Nicholas A. Molek, Milroy; brother and sister, Thomas Molek, Yeagertown, and Helen Carpenelli, Scenic Hill; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. He retired as a manager of the Kovalchick Corporation after 41 years of service. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown, with Major Raymond Simpson officiating. Interment will be in Birch Hill Cemetery, Burnham. BELLEVILLE - Julia H. Moore, 88, a resident of Valley View Haven, Belleville, formerly of 725-A Highland Ave., Lewistown, died at 9:25 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2000, at Lewistown Hospital. Born May 8, 1912, in Hazel, KY, she was a daughter of the late Ben and Julia (Hill) White. Her husband, James L. Moore, died in 1977. Surviving are: a son, James W. Moore, Outlook Pointe Commons, Reedsville; twin sister, Jewel Wilson, Waterloo, IL; a cousin, with whom she was raised, Charles W. Leeper, 139 Academy Hill, Lewistown; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was a sales lady for 30 years at Danks and Bon Ton department stores, Lewistown. She was a member of Lewistown Presbyterian Church. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with the Rev. Robert L. Zorn officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Belleville. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services Thursday at the funeral home. MCVEYTOWN - Phoebe A. Moore, 73, of 3131 Ferguson Valley Road, McVeytown, formerly of Eustis, Fla., died at 12:38 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000, at Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin. Born Aug. 24, 1927, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson and Clara (Zimmerman) Brannon. Her husband, Elbert L. Moore, died June 12, 1994. Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Stuart (Karla) Michael, Wheaton, Ill.; brother and sister, Nelson Brannon, Maitland and Sara Royer, Goss Terrace, Lewistown; and two grandsons. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell and William Brannon; a sister, Elizabeth Packer; and two half-brothers, Bruce Miller and James Miller. She was a clerk at Junior Foods and Florida Foods, in Florida. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with Dr. Ivan J. Fahs officiating. Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery, Lewistown. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the funeral home. LEWISTOWN - Delores A. Morningstar, 57, of 720 W. Fifth St., Lewistown died at 8:20 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000, at her residence. Born April 27, 1943, in Dover, Del., she was the daughter of the late Warren O. and Olive P. (Crum) Metz. Her husband, Norman B. Morningstar, died May 28, 1997. Surviving are: sons, Todd L. Morningstar, 720 W. Fifth St., Lewistown and Kevin B. Morningstar, 829 S. Wayne St., Lewistown; sisters, Barbara J. Stringer, Lewistown RR and Linda Folk, Lewistown; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Bradley J. Morningstar on Dec. 31, 1989 and Gordon J. Morningstar on July 19, 1989 and one brother. She was employed by Empire Kosher Poultry for 21 years. She attended the Church of the First Born, Lewistown. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Jodie Wilson officiating. CENTRE HALL - Charles D. Morrison, 64, of Sand Mountain Road, Centre Hall, died Thursday, July 20, 2000, at his home. Born May 3, 1936 in Granville, he was a son of the late Albert E. and Grace F. (Buchanan) Morrison. Surviving are: sisters, Mary B. Harpster, 6 Chestnut St., Beaver Springs and Audrey A. Bell, 3621 US Hwy 522 North, Lewistown. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and William Morrison. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the United States Army. He worked for many years for Faylor Middlecreek, and later for construction companies in State College as a heavy equipment operator, retiring in 1990. He was a member of East Derry Fire Company. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, at Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown with the Rev. James A. Yoder officiating. There will be no viewing. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice. Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown is in charge of arrangements.
WARSON WOODS, Mo. - Mary Anne Hanna Morton, 70, of Warson Woods, Mo., formerly of Lewistown, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, at St. Joseph Hospital in Kirkwood, Mo. Born Jan. 23, 1930, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Harold P. and Sarah F. Hanna. Her husband of 50 years, Robert C. Morton, survives. She was a member of the Lewistown High School Class of 1947. After a year at Blackstone College, Blackstone Virginia, she transferred to Penn State University and completed her degree in 1951. Also surviving are: children, Robert C. Morton Jr., Columbia, Mo., Mrs. Stephen (Betsy) Derringer, Chesterfield, Mo., Mrs. Stephen (Susan) Gaertner, Webster Groves, Mo., and Thomas Morton, Corral Springs, Fla.; a sister, Sarah E. Gibboney, Belleville; and eight grandchildren. She was a homemaker. A memorial service will be held today at Bopp Chapel in Kirkwood, Mo. Interment will be private in St. Louis, Mo. LEWISTOWN - Gladys J. (Lucas) Mosgrave, 81, of 466 Summit Drive, Lewistown, died at 5:40 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, at the Lewistown Hospital. Born Jan. 4, 1919, in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence G. and Mary E. (Benney) Lucas. Her husband, Guy E. Mosgrave, whom she married May 31, 1942, survives. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence G. Lucas Jr. in 1975 and a sister, Mrs. Everett C. (Lillian) Haines in 1986. She was employed as a supervisor for the Department of Public Assistance for 33 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Lewistown Presbyterian Church, and was an ordained elder and deacon and served on both boards; was a member of the Church Chancel Choir, the Lay Readers Guild and director of the Cherub Choir for a number of years. She was also a member of the Westminster Club; past state president of the Gradale Sorority of Pennsylvania; life member and Past Worthy Matron of the Lewistown Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star 283; member of the Past Matrons and Past Patrons of District 9-A; and a member of the Order of White Shrine of Jerusalem. She was member and Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary, Lewistown Chapter 26-Knight's Templer; the Lewistown Music Study Club; the Lewistown Twentieth Century Club; and the Lewistown Women's Club. She served on the Board of Rainbow for Girls and was a past mother advisor. She was a life member and past president of the Lewistown Hospital Auxiliary; member of the Lewistown Hospital Board of Trustees; life member of the Lewistown Hospital Healthcare Foundation; and was an active Lewistown Hospital volunteer. She was past member of the Board of Directors of the United Presbyterian Homes of the Huntingdon Presbytery; member of the Board of Directors of Odyssey Inc.; founding member and past president of the Mifflin-Juniata Arts Council; member of the BPOE 663, Ladies Auxiliary; member of the Lewistown Country Club; member of the Historical Society; member of the Board of Directors, past president of Ridgewood Inc., Lewistown; life member of the Pennsylvania Association for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals; and a volunteer for the American Red Cross Blood Services. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Lewistown Presbyterian Church, 17 E. Third St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Bruce A. Hinderliter officiating. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family at Juniata Memorial Park. Order of the Eastern Star services will be held at the graveside. There will be no viewing, but family will receive friends following the service in the Baraca Room of the church. Family will provide all flowers, but memorial contributions may be made to: the Lewistown Presbyterian Church, 17 E. Third St., Lewistown, PA 17044 or to Presbyterian Homes, Attn: James Hanley, 220 Newry St., Holidaysburg, PA 16648. Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N.
