MIFFLINTOWN - Robert J. Parson, 65, of Mifflintown RR3, died at 6:01 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000, in the emergency room of Lewistown Hospital. Born Aug. 23, 1935, in Nossville, Huntingdon County, he was the son of Hannah (Fry) Parson of Mifflintown RR1 and the late John B. Parson. His wife, Barbara K. (Beckwith) Parson, whom he married July 6, 1958, survives. Also surviving are: daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Cindy) Bomberger of Port Royal RR1, Mrs. Kevin (Rhonda K.) Weader of McClure, and Jennifer A. Parson of Harrisburg; and five grandchildren. He was a 1955 graduate of Juniata Joint High School, Mifflintown. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Germany from 1958 to 1960. He retired as a truck driver with UPS and then worked as a custodian at Juniata High School. He was a member of Union Lodge 324 F&AM, Mifflintown; the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Juniata Valley Forest 88; and the Teamster's Union. He was Methodist by faith. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. James R. Harper officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown RR4, where military honors will be provided by the Juniata County Veterans Council. Friends may call from noon until 1:45 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, at which time a Masonic service will be held. BEAVER SPRINGS - Kenneth C. Partchey, 65, of Beaver Springs, died at 12:22 a.m. Monday, Aug. 28, 2000, at York Hospital, York. Born Jan. 4, 1935, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Bruce and Effie (Walter) Partchey. His wife, Freda C. Stade, whom he married Dec. 22, 1956, survives. Also surviving are: three daughters, Lisa A. Gormley, Gettysburg, Brenda L. Abraham, Fairfax, Va., and Sandra K. Litvin, West Chester; two sisters, Nadine Shehan, Raleigh, NC, and Violet Clark, Malta Home, Granville; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Partchey in 1974, and two sisters, Rosaline Norman in 1971, and Doris Miller in 1992. He graduated from Derry Township High School in 1952 and from Mansfield State Teachers College in 1957 with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. He received his Master of Music Degree from Eastman School of Music in 1963 and completed his Doctorate of Education from Penn State University in 1973. He taught instrumental music in the Smethport, Otto-Eldred and Mansfield schools. He also taught music and brass ensembles at Wilkes College and Gettysburg College. After retirement, he directed the Shippensburg University Band for a semester and taught a year in the Gettysburg elementary schools. He was a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity and the Lewistown Elks Band. His interests included family, composing music, writing poetry and the outdoors. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Christ United Church of Christ in Beaver Springs, with his nephew, the Rev. David Watts Sr., and the Rev. Chip McCommons officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Fund Development Department, 9500 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44195. The Aurand Funeral Homes, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown, is in charge of arrangements.
LEWISTOWN - Richard Y. Partchey, 83, of US Highway 522 S., Lewistown, died at 5:55 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000, at Frey Village Retirement Center, Middletown. Born June 17, 1917, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Luther N. and Rebecca E. (Yocum) Partchey. His wife, Esther M. Partchey, died March 3, 2000. Surviving are: children, Mrs. Todd (Diane) Berube, Florida, Mrs. David (Paula) Vicars, Oregon, and Mrs. Tim (Angela) Wolford, Etters; stepchildren, Mrs. Jess (Cheryl) Moser, Mertztown, and Loretta Davis, Strodes Mills; a brother, Robert S. Partchey and a sister, Grace Partchey Batot, 736 S. 29th St., Harrisburg; two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter and three step-grandchildren. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. He was self-employed in the rental business. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge 143, Lewistown. Services will be held at 10 a.m. today at the Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. William Fetrow officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
BELLEVILLE - Elizabeth N. Peachey, 76, of 21 Greenhouse Lane, Belleville, died at 12:01 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000 at her residence. Born Sept. 21, 1923 in Belleville, she was a daughter of the late Samuel D. and Jemima (Zook) Kanagy. Her husband Rufus D. Peachey preceded her in death on May 7, 1993. Surviving are: children, Samuel R. Peachey, Katie A. Yoder, Daniel R. Peachey, Annie M. Yoder and Hettie S. Yoder, all of Belleville; a sister, Sarah M. Yoder, Middlebury, Ind.; 31 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Old Order Amish. A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Daniel R. Peachey residence, 41 Greenhouse Lane, Belleville, with Bishop Daniel M. Peachey and Bishop Louie D. Peachey officiating. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Belleville. Friends may call Monday afternoon and evening at her residence, 21 Greenhouse Lane, Belleville. Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville is in charge of arrangements.
BELLEVILLE - Ivan D. Peachey, 67, of 2750 Route 655, Belleville, died at 5:02 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11, 2000, at Lewistown Hospital. Born Nov. 17, 1932, in Reedsville, he was a son of the late John E. and Katie (Spicher) Peachey. His wife, Ruth (Peachey) Peachey, whom he married May 15, 1954, survives. Also surviving are: children, Kathy L. Beimborn, West Bend, Wis., Betty A. Ross, Sunnyvale, Calif., John E. Peachey, Lewistown, Diane M. Yoder, Hayward, Wis., and Shirley K. Peachey and Karen J. Byler, both of Belleville; brothers and sisters, twins Raymond S. Peachey, Rebecca S. Yoder, David S. Peachey, Marian R. Peachey and John B. Peachey, all of Belleville, Sarah A. Yoder, McVeytown, and a twin brother, Irvin J. Peachey, Belleville; and 18 grandchildren. He was a farmer, retiring in 1996, and a van driver for the Amish. He was a member of Allensville Mennonite Church, where he was in the Bereans Sunday school class and taught Sunday school. He had also served as a church elder and a coordinator for the Mennonite Disaster Service. He was on the board of directors for Agway and served as president for the Farmers Milk Haulers for a number of years. He enjoyed traveling and resided in Florida in the winter. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Allensville Mennonite Church, with the Rev. Philip Barr and the Rev. Max Zook officiating. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery. Family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the church. BELLEVILLE - Samuel T. Peachey, 79, of 3530 E. Back Mountain Road, Belleville, died at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000, at his residence. Born Jan. 19, 1921, in Belleville, he was a son of the late Noah L. and Hettie (Yoder) Peachey. His wife, Salina H. (Peachey) Peachey, survives. Also surviving are: children, Rachel H. Peachey, Alta M. Swarey, and Lizzie N. Swarey, all of Mifflintown, Katie A. Peachey, Annie S. Peight, Hettie O. Peachey, Leah M. Peachey, Olive E. Peachey, and Lydia J. Peachey, all of Belleville, Salina H. Kinsinger, Leola, Sylvia A. Swarey, Rockville, Ind., and Ada L. Hassel, Bedford; brothers and sisters, Ezra Y. Peachey, Korie N. Peachey, David N. Peachey, Lomie E. Peachey, Joseph N. Peachey, Dan N. Peachey, and Fannie H. Swarey, all of Belleville, Annie E. Peachey, Loganton, Lizzie C. Kanagy, Wisconsin, and Stephen N. Peachey, Allensville; 68 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Old Order Amish. Services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at the David R. Peachey residence, East Back Mountain Road, Belleville, with Bishops Louie Peachey and Noah L. Peachey officiating. Interment will be in Whitehall Amish Cemetery. BELLEVILLE - Urie J. Peachey, 77, of 2400 SR 655, Belleville, died at 3:17 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000, at Lewistown Hospital. Born April 5, 1923, in Belleville, he was the son of the late Aaron J. and Katie M. (Peachey) Peachey. His wife, Naomi I. (Kurtz) Peachey, whom he married Nov. 16, 1946, survives. Also surviving are: children, Glen L. Peachey, Belleville and Gladys Leasure, Lewistown; brothers, John Peachey, Wellman, Iowa, Earl Peachey, Galesburg, Ill. and Sanford Peachey, Goshen, Ind.; and three grandchildren. He was a retired farmer and worked in the Truss department at Allensville Planing Mill and was a truck driver for Farmer's Co-op. He was a member of Locust Grove Mennonite Church, the Senior Men's Sunday School Class, and the Mennonite Disaster Service. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Locust Grove Mennonite Church, Belleville, with the Rev. Mayard Beitzel and the Rev. Max Zook officiating. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery. Friends may call 6:30-9 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services Saturday at the church. ALLENSVILLE - Nathan J. Peight, 23, of 46 El Ray St., Allensville, died of natural causes at 7:47 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Born Sept. 20, 1976, in Lewistown, he was a son of Jesse and Malinda (Peachey) Peight of 60 Mill Road, Allensville. His wife, Christina (Brubaker) Peight, whom he married June 3, 2000, survives. Also surviving are: maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Chris B. Peachey, 79 Grand St., Belleville; brothers and sisters, Loretta J. Peight, Wilma G. Peight, Janice M. Peight, Benita J. Peight, Lester J. Peight and Ervin Peight, all at home. He was the owner and operator of Peight's Trucking, hauling logs, and a member of the Rock Haven Church of God in Christ Mennonite. His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Rock Haven Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Peachey Road, Belleville, with ministers Amos Peachey and Sylvan Yoder officiating. Interment will follow in Rock Haven Mennonite Cemetery. Friends will be received 3-4:30 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rock Haven Church of God in Christ Mennonite, 146 Peachey Road, Belleville, PA 17004. Baggus Funeral Home, 3813 W.
