LEWISTOWN - Logan Bratton Thompson, 86, of 6 North Parkway Court, Lewistown, died at 3:45 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23, 2000, at the Lewistown Hospital. Born Sept. 17, 1914, in Altoona, he was the son of the late William and Henrietta (Bratton) Thompson. His wife, Alma (Frederick) Thompson, preceded him in death on Sept. 11, 1987. Surviving are: children, C. Fred Thompson, 1128 W. Fifth St., Lewistown and Lynn A. Thompson, 215 Shady Drive, Lewistown; sisters, Eleanor Black, Liverpool and Roseann Ebersole, Altoona; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. He was supervisor at Noerr Motor Freight for 43 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Grove Memorial United Methodist Church. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. William J. Danis officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to: the Mifflin-Juniata American Cancer Society, 26 N. LEWISTOWN - Patricia Y. Olnick Thompson, 62, of Lewistown, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, at Beverly Healthcare-William Penn, Lewistown. Born Nov. 20, 1937, in Burnham, she was the daughter of Ottie (Foltz) Olnick of Lewistown and the late Joseph Olnick. Also surviving are: children, Mrs. Joseph (Cynthia) Buchanan, Belleville, and Joshua Thompson, Lewistown; a sister, Nancy Wills, Lewistown; two granddaughters and two nieces. She had worked for the Tri County Drug and Alcohol Program, Lewistown; the Mental Health-Mental Retardation, Lewistown; and held several other secretarial jobs in the area. She was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Lewistown. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15 at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 106 N. Dorcas St., Lewistown. Family will receive friends at the memorial service. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice: The Bridge, 1126 W. Fourth St., Lewistown, PA 17044 or to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School, 106 N. Dorcas St., Lewistown, PA 17044. The Cremation Society of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, is in charge of arrangements.
THOMPSONTOWN - Thelma P. Thompsontown, 69, of Thompsontown RR2 (Locust Run), died at 11:22 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2000, at Sunbury Community Hospital. Born June 22, 1930, near East Salem, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Pauline (Kauffman) Hart. Her husband, Paul M. Thompson, whom she married Jan. 20, 1954, survives. Also surviving are: children, John R. Thompson, Millerstown RR2, and Mrs. William (Joan) Dill, Northumberland RD2; a sister, Nancy Shelley, Etters; and two brothers, Thomas Hart, Mifflintown RR3, and Robert Hart, McAlisterville RR1. She was a graduate of Thompsontown High School. She worked as a seamstress, employed last at Lyon Fashions, Millerstown. Services and interment will be private, and held at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing. Family will provide all flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to Hershey Medical Center, Intensive Care Unit, 500 University Drive, Hershey, Pa. 17033, or to the charity of one's choice. Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, is in charge of arrangements.
LEWISTOWN - Laura S. Till, 89, of 192 Ort Valley Road, Lewistown, died at 8:20 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, 2000, at Ohesson Manor, Lewistown. Born Sept. 23, 1911, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Mary Ellen (Kimberling) Derk. Her husband, Joseph E. Till of 192 Ort Valley Road, Lewistown, whom she married Sept. 2, 1939, survives. She is also survived by a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Sharon) Webster, Waldorf, Md.; a sister, Mary E. Derk, Lewistown; two grandchildren and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Leona Warfel, Mildred Todd, and Loraine Derk. She was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Lewistown. A Christian Wake service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Lawrence R. Coakley officiating. Private interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park. Friends may call 1 p.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 106 N. Dorcas St., Lewistown, PA 17044.
LEWISTOWN - Pamela A. Tomlinson, 45, of 5 Goss Terrace, Lewistown, died at 10:34 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, at Lewistown Hospital. Born Aug. 13, 1955, in Upland, she was the daughter of Arthur R. and Beverly A. (Patterson) Tomlinson of 164 Windy Way, Reedsville. Also surviving are sisters, Linda Goss and Susan Pfirman, both of Milroy, and Beverly McClellan, Lewistown. She was a 1972 graduate of Penn Highlands High School. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lewistown. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, with Pastor Karen L. McCachren officiating. Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. Judes Childrens' Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
PAXTONVILLE - Adaleen G. Treaster, 92, a resident for the past four years of Kramm Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Milton and formerly of Paxtonville, died at 1 a.m. Friday, June 23, 2000 ,at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg. Born April 21, 1908 in Milroy, she was a daughter of the late William Robert and Nancy Jane (Culbertson) Pecht. Her husband, Joseph Raymond "Ray" Treaster, whom she married in 1926, preceded her in death on July 24, 1963. Surviving are: children, Robert E. Treater, Paxtonville, Lois M. Thompson, Shamokin Dam, Margaret J. Dunkin, Shamokin and H. JoAnn Bingman, Lewisburg; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, W. Glenn Treaster, on Jan. 28, 1998, by brothers, Charles and Russell Pecht, and by sisters, Mary Pecht, Ruth Civitts and Edna Kauffman. She was a 1926 graduate of Milroy High School. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting, and spending time with her family. She was a member of Paxtonville United Methodist Church. Services will be held at noon Monday at Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg, with the Rev. Darrell J. Lamos officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Evangelical Hospice, 1 Hospital Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837.
BELLEFONTE - Dolores Lorraine Treaster, 71, of Centre Crest, Bellefonte, formerly of rural Centre Hall, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, at Centre Crest. Born Oct. 5, 1929, in Yeagertown, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Eva Broome. Her husband, Vincent "Vince" Treaster, whom she married Jan. 27, 1956, died July 31, 1998. Surviving are: daughters, Joanne Kahley, Lewistown, Shawnee Turek, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Patti Rowles, rural Centre Hall; and three grandchildren. She was a 1947 graduate of Derry Township High School, Lewistown. She had been employed by Suburban Propane and Corman Insurance and then became a homemaker and assisted her husband with horse training and showing on their farm near Centre Hall. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Mark B. Heintzelman Funeral Home, 226 Pennsylvania Ave., Centre Hall. Interment will be in Zion Hill Cemetery, Colyer. BELCAMP, Md. - Mildred M. Treaster, 99, a resident of Lorien Nursing Home, Belcamp, Md., formerly of Milroy, died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, at the nursing home. Born Oct. 14, 1901, in Milroy, she was the daughter of the late U. Grant and Gertie Miller. She is survived by three daughters, Arlene Bullock, Havre de Grace, Md., Joan Smith, Mifflintown, and Carol O'Dell, Aberdeen, Md.; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, W. Dean Treaster and a brother, Willis Miller. She was a housewife. She was Protestant by faith. Services will be held at the convenience of the family and interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy. The Evans Funeral Chapel, 3 Newport Drive, Forest Hills, Md., is in charge of arrangements.
