TECUMSEH, Okla. - Donald L. Bailor, 53, of Tecumseh, Okla., formerly of Lewistown, died at noon Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma. Born March 8, 1947, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Thomas P. and Grace E. (Hastings) Bailor. Surviving are: brothers and sisters, Edward E. Bailor, Milroy, George E. Bailor, Harrisburg, Elizabeth J. Earnest, Naples, Fla., and Rose A. Hoar, Lewistown. There will be a private memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday at the Grace Brethren Church, Taylor Park, Reedsville. The Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh, Okla., was in charge of arrangements.
WILMINGTON, Del. - Patricia P. Bailor, 82, of Wilmington, Del., died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, after a brief illness. Born March 30, 1918, in Tyrone, she was the daughter of late Paul J. and Loretta Bailor. She is survived by a brother, Paul J. Bailor Jr., Wilmington, Del. She was a telegraph operator for Western Union, retiring in 1973. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Lewistown, with the Rev. Thomas Marickovic officiating. Interment was held in Juniata Memorial Park Cemetery. The Doherty Funeral Home, Wilmington, Del. and Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Lewistown, were in charge of arrangements.
MOUNT UNION - Harold T. Bair, 83, a resident of Huntingdon Manor, Huntingdon, formerly of Morgan Street, Mount Union, died at 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at the manor. Born July 31, 1917, in Mifflin County, he was the son of the late Daniel McKenley and Martha Evelyn (Rosensteel) Bair. His wife, Clarabelle (Brouse) Bair, whom he married in 1940 in Juniata, died Nov. 27, 1983. Surviving are: children, Harold E. Bair and James D. Bair, both of McVeytown RR1 and Sally A. Clark, Mount Union; 15 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Max Bair. He retired in 1979 after 40 years of service as a trackman with the Pennsylvania Railroad. He attended the St. Peter and St. Paul Orthodox Church, Mount Union. He was a lifetime member of the Mill Creek firehall and a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge 220, Huntingdon. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with the Rev. Father Stephen Kundla officiating. Interment will be in Mount Union Cemetery. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
MILROY - James R. Baker Sr., 69, of 1111 Locke Mills Road, Milroy, died at 8 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at his residence. Born July 8, 1930, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late John J. and Elizabeth Mae (Toner) Baker. His wife, Donna J. (Kenawell) Baker, whom he married Feb. 11, 1952, survives. Also surviving are: children, Kathy Hannon, Treaster Valley, Karen Baker and DeAnn E. Kuhns, both of Milroy, James R. Baker Jr., Reedsville and Robert E. Baker, Lewistown; sisters, Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Young and Mrs. Marion (Hazel) Semler, both of Reedsville, Mrs. Meredith (Mildred) Pennebaker and Mrs. Donald (Florence) Kline, both of Lewistown; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John D. Baker and Robert G. Baker Sr. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He worked in Machine Shop I of Standard Steel, Burnham for 42 years, retiring in 1995. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, with the Rev. Kenneth Longfield officiating. Interment will be in Salem Cemetery, Siglerville. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
MIFFLINTOWN - Philip E. Bargo, 69, Mifflintown RR5, died at 1:45 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, at the Brookline Manor Home, Mifflintown RR1. Born Jan. 14, 1931, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Merril and Esther (Warner) Bargo Sr. His wife, Freda (Rowles) Bargo, survives. Also surviving are: a son, Blain S. Bargo, Harrisburg; stepchildren, James E. Wileman, Honey Grove, Glenn D. Wileman and Maryln Forsythe Solt, both of Mifflintown, and Sandra Haines, Lewistown; two brothers and a sister, William Bargo, Harrisburg, Clifford Bargo and Mabel Beale, both of Port Royal; three grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Merril, Raymond, Richard and Howard Bargo. He was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the New Life Assembly of God Church, Mifflintown, the American Legion Post 298, Mifflintown, the VFW Post 7011, Lewistown, and the Central Juniata EMS. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the New Life Assembly of God Church, Mifflintown, with Pastor Jack Twombly officiating. Interment will be in the East Waterford Cemetery. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Henry Funeral Home, Honey Grove, where the family will be present from 7-9 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until the time of the services Saturday at the church. The family will provide all flowers, but memorial contributions may be made to: New Life Assembly of God Church, Industrial Park Road, Mifflintown, PA 17059.
LEWISTOWN - Larry L. Barker, 52, of 68 Central Ave., Lewistown, died at 5 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at Hershey Medical Center, Hershey. Born April 6, 1948, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Robert D. and A. Madeline (Fisher) Barker. He is survived by brothers and sisters, Robert D. Barker and Mrs. Barry (Beth) Peters, both of Lewistown, Carl J. Barker, Newark, Del., and Mrs. Stanley (Linda) Kess, Mooreshill, Ind. He was a store manager for Macy's, New York, N.Y.; Abraham and Straus Dept. Store, New York, N.Y.; and managed several Bon Ton Stores in Pennsylvania, including the Lewistown Store. He was a member of Rhodes Memorial United Methodist Church, Lewistown and was a volunteer for the Mifflin-Juniata County United Way, Lewistown. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family at Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: the Lewistown Dialysis Center, 611 Electric Ave., Lewistown, PA 17044.
PORT ROYAL - Thelma I. Barner, 65, of Port Royal RR2, formerly of Harrisburg, died at 9 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2000, at her residence following a lengthy illness. Born June 25, 1934, in Susquehanna Township, Juniata County, she was the daughter of the late William R. and Helen (Houseworth) Barner. Surviving are: children, David Barner and Hilda Sakowsky, both of Harrisburg, John Barner, Cecilia Carbaugh and Ginny Swartz, all of Port Royal, and Peg Brubaker, Mifflintown; five brothers and three sisters; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was a homemaker. She had attended Calvary Temple, Harrisburg. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Ronald C. Sheaffer Funeral Home, 16 Westfall St., McAlisterville, with the Rev. Barry Brubaker officiating. Interment will be in the Maze Cemetery, Thompsontown RR1. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the services Tuesday at the funeral home. LEWISTOWN - Sharon L. Barraclough, 57, of 880 Parcheytown Road, Lewistown, died at 5:57 a.m. Friday, Dec. 22, 2000 at Lewistown Hospital. Born April 5, 1943 in Lewistown, she was a daughter of Gerald R. and Violet R. (Neff) Bloom of 3152 Route 522 North, Lewistown. Her husband Frederick W. Barraclough, whom she married Sept. 29, 1962, survives. Also surviving are: a daughter, Holly Baker, Harrisburg; brothers and sisters, her twin Karon Zimmerman, Yeagertown, Geraldine Harpster and Carol Bloom, both of Lewistown, Judy Aultz, Burnham and Darrell Bloom, Mount Union; and one granddaughter. She was a 1962 graduate of Chief Logan High School. She was a supervisor at Lewistown Specialty Yarn for 26 years. She was a member of The Old Fashioned Baptist Church. Her services will be private and held at the convenience of the family with Pastor Lenny Coates officiating. Interment will in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown. Hoenstine Funeral Burnham Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 26 N. Brown St., Lewistown, PA 17044.
