Alice M. Altemose, 90, of Stroud Township, passed away on Wednesday, August 15th in Whitestone Healthcare, Stroud Township. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Altemose who died in 2001.
Born on May 11, 1922 in Monroe County, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Widdoss) Post and had lived in the area most of her life, having lived in Florida for 13 years returning to the area in 2002. She had worked at National Drug in Swiftwater and at the East Stroudsburg University.
Alice was a member of the Berean Bible Fellowship Church in Stroud Township. She enjoyed sewing and most of all, her family.
She is survived by a daughter, with whom she lived, Cheryl J. Smith and her husband, Lewis of Stroud Township; two sons, Thomas Altemose and his wife, Barbara and Michael Altermose and his wife, Arlene, all of Stroud Township; five grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren; a sister, Sarah Emma Hoffner of Mechanicsburg; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Agnes Decker, Howard Post, Helen Balmoos, Ruth Decker, and Barbara Brush.
There will be a viewing on Monday, August 20, from 10:00 to 11:00AM followed by funeral services at 11:00AM in the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg with Pastor Davis Duggins officiating. Burial will follow in the Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to the Berean Bible Fellowship Church, 1028 Valley View Drive, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
Gerald "Jerry" F. Beagle

Gerald "Jerry" F. Beagle, 86, of Brodheadsville, passed away Wednesday morning, July 29, at Brookmont Healthcare Center in Effort. He was the husband of Joyce M. (Miller) Beagle with whom he shared 39 years of marriage.
Born on April 7, 1929 in Scranton, he was a son of the late Walter Winfield and Matilda "Tilly" (Gates) Beagle.
He was a World War II veteran having served in the United States Army.
Jerry worked at Tobyhanna Army Depot for 30 years, where he traveled all over the United States and to Germany.
He loved jazz and big band music, dancing and fishing with his grandchildren.
In his early years he played semi pro baseball in Portsmouth, OH for the Philadelphia A's farm system team.
In addition to his wife, surviving are three sons, Jarrod Winfield Beagle and his wife Maria of Brodheadsville, Harold Cortright and his partner Rick Evans of East Stroudsburg, and Mark Cortright of Ellijay, GA; a daughter, Anita Swartz and her husband Todd of Mountainhome; four grandchildren, Samantha Beagle and Katherine Beagle both of Brodheadsville, Amanda Graham and her husband Timmy of East Stroudsburg, and Todd Swartz of Mountainhome; a great granddaughter, Rylee Graham of East Stroudsburg; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a son, David James Beagle; a brother, Donald Paul Beagle; and a grandson, Travis T. Swartz.
Viewing will begin at 10:00AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00AM on Tuesday, August 4, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. The Rev. Nina Patton-Semerod will officiate. Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg.
Catherine M. Boris
(May 4, 1919 - August 13, 2015)
Catherine M. Boris, 96, of Bartonsville, having moved from Scottsdale, Arizona in 2011, passed away early Thursday morning, August 13, in the Whitestone Care Center, Stroud Township. She was the wife of the late Peter Boris.
Born on May 4, 1919 in Carbondale, she lived in Arizona since 1976, moving there from Hiawatha, New Jersey.
She is survived by a daughter, Margaret Wyckoff and her husband, Frederick Jr. of Bartonsville; and her son-in-law, Al Faber of Scottsdale, AZ; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Elizabeth Gilbert and Carol Faber; and a great great granddaughter, Olivia Cardiello.
Private cremation will take place in the H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
Arrangements are under the direction of the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main St., Stroudsburg.
Alberta M. (Finch) Weber, MD
(January 27, 1926 - July 18, 2015)
Alberta M. (Finch) Weber, M.D., 89, died Saturday morning, July 18th.
Born on January 27, 1926, in Port Jervis, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Bertha Finch. She was raised in Hawley, PA, and graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1943. After Penn State, she graduated from Temple University with her medical degree in 1946. She did her residency at the Harrisburg Hospital, where she met her future husband, Dr. Otto R. Weber. The two were marriage in 1952 and settled in Linglestown, PA where they had a joint medical practice for ten years. In 1962, they moved to Stroudsburg, where she practiced family medicine. During this time, she served as President of the Monroe County Medical Association. In 1986, she and her husband began serving as medical missionaries in what is now the Congo. While in Africa she served in a bush hospital in the United Methodist Mission in Kapanga. In 1990, she returned to Stroudsburg, and, even though she was retired, she maintain her license in order to provide medical service by establishing and serving as a physician at Pocono Medical Center, Well-Baby Clinic; serving as physician for Pleasant Valley Manor; and, serving as a relief physician for East Stroudsburg University Health Center. She also volunteered and served on boards with Monroe County Health Services, Monroe County Children and Youth, and Pocono Healthy Community Alliance. She stopped practicing medicine the last day of 1999. As she said, “I rang in the new century retired from my life’s work.” She continued to be active by volunteering her time with the Quiet Valley Historical Association, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Torch Club, Church Women United, and Stroudsburg United Methodist Church. She has received multiple honors and recognition for her service over the years from the Pocono Chamber of Commerce, the Elks, Pocono Medical Center, Monroe County Commissioners, and the Pennsylvania General Assembly.
She loved building doll houses and collecting dolls, doing genealogy research, and playing Scrabble. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Otto R. Weber. She is survived by five children, Lawrence P. Weber and his wife, Ruth, of Stroudsburg, Dr. Charles A. Weber and his, wife, Kathy of Colts Neck, NJ., Kathy Godshalk of Bangor, Phillip Weber, of Stroudsburg, and Dr. Jeffrey Weber and his wife, Audrey, of Stroudsburg; and 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 22nd, with a viewing from 10 to 11, and the service beginning at 11am at Stroudsburg United Methodist Church, 547 main Street, Stroudsburg. A private burial will be held at the Hershey Trust Co. Cemetery, Hershey, PA.

Christina Couch
(May 4, 1921 - August 16, 2015)
Christina Couch, 94, of Stroudsburg, died Sunday evening, August 16, while under hospice care in her home.
Born on May 4, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Celiscini and Louisa (Jiancketti) Ferritti and lived in LaBar Village for the past five years moving from Panther Valley, NJ
She was a member of St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church in East Stroudsburg.
Surviving are two children, Judy Alfieri and her husband Jim of East Stroudsburg, and Peter Marra of Lady Lake, FL; grandchildren, Lisa Alfieri of East Stroudsburg, James Alfieri and his wife Teresa of Panther Valley, NJ and Richard Cunzo of Port Jefferson, NY; and great grandchildren, Noah Dickison of East Stroudsburg, Connor and Brady Alfieri of Panther Valley, NJ and Samantha, Richard and Allison Cunzo of Port Jefferson, NY. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Christie Ann Cunzo.
Cremation was private.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30AM Saturday, August 29, at St. Matthews Roman Catholic Church, 200 Brodhead Avenue, East Stroudsburg; followed by burial at Hillside Cemetery in Rutherford, NJ.
Memorial remembrances may be made to St. Jude's Childrens' Hospital or to Make-a-Wish Foundation.
Thomas "T.J." Joseph Kearns
(February 15, 1965 - July 25, 2015)
Thomas Joseph Kearns, lovingly known as "T.J." or "Tom Petty", born on February 15, 1965, passed suddenly from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident July 25, 2015.
T.J. was raised in Martinsville, New Jersey, and attended Bridgewater East High School. He resided in Shawnee-on-Delaware and was employed at Pocono Mountain Harley-Davidson. He was also self-employed as a roofer in the area.
Growing up and as an adult, T.J. was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved the thrill of being out on the water in his kayak, catching those elusive stripers, as well as the calm serenity of watching a sunrise or sunset over the water. He had a love of life, people and all living things that is most rare today. He shared his smile, spirit and positive attitude with all he came in contact with. He was a free spirit who will be missed by many.
T.J. was a member of the Beltzville Bar and Grill Pool team in the Palmerton league for the last two years. He also shot pool for Team Pocono Pub since 2010.
T.J. had a love for motorcycles and spent much of his free time riding.
T.J. was preceded in death by his loving father, Thomas Joseph Kearns, and his mother, Isabel Ann (Blechar) Kearns. He is survived by his sister, Tracy (Kearns) Lewchuk of Blaine, Minnesota; his nephews, Ryan and Dillon; and his niece, Nicole Lewchuk.
A memorial ride from Pocono Mountain Harley-Davidson to his service at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg, will begin at 4:00pm, Sunday, August 9th. The service will begin at 5:00pm. There will be a Celebration of Life at The Original Pocono Pub in Bartonsville beginning at 7:00pm with karaoke that he loved so much.
