Ilse Eggert, 90, of Stroudsburg, died Wednesday, September 9, upon arrival at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg, after being stricken at home. She was the wife of Erich Eggert.
Born on August 5, 1925 in Poland, she was a daughter of the late Johann and Katherina Henkel.
Her life was her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Kurt Jurgen Eggert and his wife Lisa of Douglaston, NY and Manuela Tufano and her husband John of Marshalls Creek, three grandsons, James Eggert of Douglaston, NY, Michael Tufano and his wife Kristin of Charleston, SC, and Matthew Tufano and his fiance Corynn of Bethlehem; two brothers, Helmut Henkel and his wife Melita of Florida and Ernst Henkel of Germany; a sister, Irmgard Jacobs of Maine.
There will be a greeting time for family and friends at 12:30PM followed by a memorial services at 1:00PM on Sunday, September 13, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 139 Craigs Meadow Road, East Stroudsburg. The Rev. Dr. John Harding will officiate. Cremation was private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Lorraine Cruse
(August 15, 1924 - September 10, 2015)
Lorraine Cruse, 91, of Stroudsburg, died Thursday morning, September 10, at Brookmont Health Care Center in Effort. She was the widow of John R. Cruse who died March 13, 1993.
Born on August 15, 1924 in Stroudsburg, she was a daughter of the late Forest Heller and the late Mae (Garris) Heller-Kressly. She was a lifetime resident of Monroe County until this past January when she moved to Bethlehem to live with her daughter and son-in-law.
She was a bookkeeper for Stroudsburg Gas for 23 years.
Lorraine was a member of Stroudsburg United Methodist Church; Stroud Township Fire Company Auxiliary; and the Thomas P. Lambert Post 2540 VFW Auxiliary in East Stroudsburg. She was also a former volunteer with PATH.
Surviving are four children, Carole Everitt and her husband, Richard of Stroudsburg, Phyllis Kulp and her husband, John of Bethlehem, Lori Peck and her husband, Brett of Pocatello, ID and Duane Cruse and his wife, Juli of Helena, MT; 11 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Shaffer and a grandson, Brad Conrad Everitt.
Viewing will begin at 10:00AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00AM on Monday, September 14, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. The Rev. Robert Shank will officiate. Graveside services and burial will be at 9:00AM on Tuesday, September 15, at Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg.

Hazel G. Kaniper
(July 13, 1911 - September 6, 2015)
Hazel G. Kaniper, 104, of Stroud Township, died early Sunday morning, September 6, at Pocono Health System Hospice House in East Stroudsburg. She was the widow of Maurice E. Kaniper who died in 1985.
Born on July 13, 1911 at home in Tannersville, she was the daughter of the late George and Lottie (Newhart) Mader and lived in Monroe County for most of her life.
She attended Churchman's Business School in Easton and worked at Heberling Agency in Stroudsburg for many years.
Hazel was a very active member of East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking for the holidays and making Easter candy for the church.
Surviving are a son, M. Neil Kaniper of Stroud Township; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Mader and Harry Mader and two sisters, Gladys (Mader) Teeter Marsh and Helen (Mader) Featherman.
Viewing will begin at 10:00AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00AM on Friday September 11, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. The Rev. James Todd will officiate. Burial will follow at Laurelwood Cemetery in Stroudsburg.

Jason A. Haley

Jason A. Haley, 32, of East Stroudsburg, passed away early Saturday morning, October 10, 2015 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Northampton County.
He was the best father in the world to Isabella (5) ; loving husband to Sandy (Meola) Haley with whom he shared 10 years of marriage on July 8, 2015; and cherished son of Julieann and Dave Hall of New Cumberland.
Also surviving are two step-sisters, Lauren Hall and Leslie Hall; grandmother, Betty L. Colahan of Mechanicsburg; grandfather, Arthur E. Hall of New Cumberland; and his in-laws Jim and Lynn Meola.
He worked as a machinist at Lamtec Corporation in Mt. Bethel since May of 2011.
Jason was an avid baseball player and golfer.
He was a fan of the Cleveland Indians, Miami Dolphins (no matter what anyone said) and the New York Rangers.
Jason loved spending time with family and friend, where many memories and stories of him were made. He was full of life and laughter and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will begin at 4:00 followed by a memorial service at 6:00PM on Thursday, October 15, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. The Rev. Nina Patton-Semerod will officiate. Cremation was private.
Charles "Denny" Deardorff
(May 23, 1946 - July 9, 2015)

Charles "Denny" Deardorff, 69, of Smithfield Township, died Thursday evening, July 9, at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg.
He was the husband of Joanne E. (Freed) Deardorff with whom he shared 46 years of marriage.
Born May 23, 1946 in York, he was the son of Lorraine J. (Smith) Deardorff and the late Charles H. Deardorff.
He lived in Monroe County for most of his life and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1967-1971 and did a tour in Vietnam from 1970-1971.
He attended East Stroudsburg State Teacher's College where he played football from 1964-1966; and was recently inducted into the ESU Hall of Fame.
Denny owned and operated Rudy's Tavern in East Stroudsburg upon his mentor, Rudy Manheim's death in 1981. He could always be found at the end of the bar telling jokes and old stories and he was a big supporter of numerous community charities.
In addition to his wife and mother, surviving are two daughters, Kelly Quaresimo and her husband Joseph and Abigail D. Deardorff all of East Stroudsburg; a sister Beth Mohler and her husband Rick of Vermont; and nephew C. Jason Mohler and his wife Krystle of Philadelphia.
Viewing hours will be from 1:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:30PM on Tuesday, July 14, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. The funeral service will begin at 11:00AM Wednesday, July 15th, at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Shank officiating. Burial will follow at Laurelwood Cemetery in Stroudsburg.
