Dr. Gail C. “Doc” Fegley, 91 of Stroudsburg passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 25th. He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth “Betty” (Schugard) Fegley. In addition to his wife, surviving are a son, Kirk Fegley (Kendall) of Lawrenceburg IN, and several wonderful nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was a resident of Monroe County for the past 67 years.
Born November 11, 1923 in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Reuben and Laura (Stokes) Fegley. He is preceded in death by his brothers Venard and Winston.
A graduate of PA State College of Optometry in Philadelphia, he was an optometrist and practiced in Stroudsburg for 45 years. Following his college graduation, he obtained fellowship in the Academy of Optometry.
Doc was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Stroudsburg.
As veteran of WWII he served in the US Army stationed in the Pacific Theater.
Doc’s love for the community was evident by the countless hours he dedicated to various charities and organizations. Over the years he was a member and past president of the Stroudsburg Lions Club, Rotary Club of the Stroudsburgs and Torch Club. He formerly served on the board of directors of Burnley Workshop and P.A.T.H. . He also delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. As a long-time volunteer at the Pocono Medical Center, Doc logged in well over 1, 000 hours of service where he delivered inter-office mail with a smile and chocolate kisses.
He played on the 1938 state basketball championship team with Hazleton High School. Doc’s passion for sports continued throughout his life as he played softball in Stroudsburg and was an avid golfer and bowler.
Visitation will be held at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street Stroudsburg, Saturday, September 12, at 10:00 am with a memorial service to follow at 11:00am.

Jeffrey W. Heck

Jeffrey W. Heck, 66, of Stroud Township, passed away suddenly, Thursday, August 6, at home.
Born on August 14, 1948 in Pulaski, VA, he was the son of Louise (Vandenberg) Heck of Stroudsburg and the late John W. Heck. Jeffrey was a Palmerton High School graduate and has lived in Monroe County for the past 12 years.
Jeffrey served in the National Guard for six years.
He attended Zion United Church of Christ in Stroudsburg where he was known for playing his trombone. Jeffrey also volunteered and played trombone at local retirement homes. He loved to draw and drew beautiful caricatures of people with their old cars. Many people recognized him for wearing his special cream colored hat around town.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister, Janet Salek of Stroudsburg; and a nephew, John Nickolas Salek of Brooklyn, NY.
Viewing will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, August 10, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. The funeral services will be noon on Tuesday, August 11, at Zion United Church of Christ, 14 North 8th Street, Stroudsburg.

George M. Sox

George M. Sox, 88, of Stroud Township, passed away Tuesday evening, July 28, at Pocono Health System Hospice House in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of the late Dolores F. (Mengle) Sox who died October 5, 2004.
Born on June 21, 1927 in Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late Arthur and Mary E. (Featherman) Sox and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.
He served in the United States Navy.
George was a lineman for Met-Ed until retiring in 1987 after over 35 years of service.
He was a member of Stroudsburg Seventh-Day Adventist Church; Stroud Township Volunteer Fire Company; and Four County Fireman's Association.
Surviving are three children, Robert George Sox and his wife Aileen, of Boise, ID, Julianne Felker and her husband Robert, of The Villages, FL and Steven Sox and his wife Donna of Lakeland, FL; five grandchildren, Amy Pitcher and her husband Jonathan, Bruce Felker, Kevin Felker and his wife Sabrina, Danielle Branch and her husband Shane, and Tiffany Stafford; and five great grandchildren, Abby Pitcher, Michael Schultz, Dakota Branch, Tyler Stafford, and Lucas Stafford. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah A. Weber.
Viewing will begin at 10:00AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00AM on Friday, July 31, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. The Rev. Livingston Aaron will officiate. Burial will follow at Stroudsburg Cemetery.

Kathleen K. Bryant
(May 10, 1928 - July 11, 2015)
Kathleen Elizabeth Bryant, 87, of Stroudsburg, passed away on July 11, 2015, at Pocono Medical Center after a short illness. She was the widow of David M. Bryant with whom she shared 65 years of marriage at the time of his death on December 12, 2012.
Born on May 5, 1928 in Morristown, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Cecil C. and Beulah M. (Mathena) Carper, formerly of Wharton, NJ.
Upon retirement from the insurance business, Kathleen moved to Pennsylvania in 1983. She and her late husband were long-time members of Mountain Manor Golf Club, where they spent many happy hours playing golf together and organizing and running tournaments for club members. Golf was a year-round passion and they spent their winters in Myrtle Beach, SC enjoying their hobby. Kathleen also loved playing pinochle and card games with family and friends, doing crossword puzzles, and playing the slots at local casinos.
She was a cherished mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed by her four daughters: Barbara Baczynski of Stroudsburg, PA, with whom she lived, Donna Flannery and her husband Dennis of Avon, OH, Kathleen Henderson and her husband Robert of Landing, NJ, and Susan Jameson and her husband Fred of Hackettstown, NJ; 10 grandchildren, Douglas, Sean, Michael, Kristin, Tara, Renee, Thomas, Lynne, Katie Ann and Patrick; and 3 great-grandchildren, Marcus, Aaron and Ryan. Her sister, Ruby Mae Drake and brother, Charles Carper, preceded her in death.
Kathleen's family would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Jeffrey Bair.
Kathleen's life was celebrated by her family in a private service.
Doris P. Rogalinski

Doris P. Rogalinski, of Bushkill, died Wednesday, September 2, at home. She was the widow of William J. Rogalinski who died June 20, 2004.
Born in New York, NY, she was the daughter of the late Myron and Helen (Copeland) Press. She served in the United States Navy as a Pharmacist's Mate Third Class from 1944 until her discharge in 1946 when she moved to Pennsylvania.
She was Laboratory Director at Pocono Medical Associates until retiring in 1986.
Doris was a 30 year member of RSVP and volunteered at Bushkill Outreach for 30 years.
She was an avid reader and library patron.
Surviving is her granddaughter and in-home caretaker, Angel Rogalinski. She was preceded in death by a son, Paul W. Rogalinski on March 27, 2009.
