Darcy J. Chamberlain, 58, of Stroudsburg, died Saturday, May 13, 2017, at the Lehigh Valley Hospice House - Pocono in East Stroudsburg. She was the widow of Richard E. Chamberlain, Jr. who died March 27, 2015.
Born on March 28, 1959 in East Stroudburg, she was the daughter of the late Lee Barnes and Lorna Lou (Warncke) Koehler and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.
Darcy was a reading specialist at the Stroudsburg School District for 24 years. She was a graduate of Stroudsburg High School; received a Bachelor’s of Environmental Science in 1983 and a Reading Specialist Master’s degree from East Stroudsburg University; and also obtained numerous post graduate credits in Education.
Darcy was an avid supporter of music and the Arts and liberal causes. She loved reading and encouraged others to read. She was a big fan of old movies and television programs and the occasional cosmopolitan. Her love of travel included many family and friend trips, but most of all, her love of Waupoos and time spent there with friends and family was time looked forward to by all. Darcy was also always behind the scenes, wielding a needle and thread or guarding the prop table at every Stroudsburg High School play.
Beloved by her former students, colleagues, family, and innumerable friends, Darcy will be remembered for her nurturing nature, joyous spirit and conviviality.
Surviving are a son, Douglas McCoy and wife Cherilyn; daughter, Emelia Chamberlain; two step-daughters, Lauren Chamberlain and Melissa McCoy Billingsley; a daugher at heart, Jessica Pierson Tressler; a brother, Christopher Koehler and wife Susan; and three grandchildren, Ryley, Lorna Lee and, Eliot McCoy.
A celebration of life will be held from 1:00pm to 4:00pm on Saturday, May 27, at her family home on Bryant Street in Stroudsburg. Cremation was private.

William "Bill" C. Christman

William C. “Bill” Christman. 56, of Spirit Lake, Idaho, passed away on April 8, 2017 at Hospice of North Idaho. He leaves behind his loving wife Charlene (Sperber) Christman with whom he spent 36 years of his life.
He was born December 7, 1960 in East Stroudsburg to Florence L. (Hilliard) Scerbo and the late Charles F. Christman, Sr..
Bill served in the U.S. Army from 1978 to 1983.
He worked as a client service manager for Ross Point Truck Repair in Post Falls, Idaho for 18 years.
Bill enjoyed showing and teaching the guys he worked with new things, and was a wealth of information when it came to his extensive knowledge of mechanics.
He also enjoyed camping with his family, being outdoors in the mountains, and helping others. He belonged to a small men’s group through church.
Bill loved spending time with his family and was dedicated to ensuring that his wife and family were happy.
In addition to his wife and mother, surviving are a son, Anthony; daughters, Teresa and Deanna; grandchildren, Christina and Daniel Duval; sister, Katherine A. Titus and husband Donald of East Stroudsburg; brothers, Charles F. Christman and wife Hope of Allentown and David A. Christman and wife Sonia of Canadensis; step-sister, Vicki Boushell and husband Jeffery of Hartwell, Georgia; step-brother, Donald Frick and wife Amanda of Sycamore, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, Joseph F. Scerbo; and two brothers, Gregory A. and Gary B. Christman.
Services were held on April 23, 2017 at Bell Tower Funeral Home in Post Falls, Idaho. Cremation was private.
Don T. Broyles
(May 21, 1961 - May 1, 2017)
Don T. Broyles, 55, of Effort, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his home. Don was the loving husband of Sandra (Cizon) Broyles. They would have celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on September 4, 2017.
Don and his wife moved from New Jersey to Pennsylvania in 1990, where they eventually settled in Effort. Don worked as a HazMat truck driver for more than 30 years. He took part in, and enjoyed numerous trucking competitions. He loved trail riding with his wife Sandra on his horse, Big Bandit, and loved his dog, Little Bandit. He also loved spending quality time with his family, often taking trips in the R.V..
We have been blessed with the presence of Don in our lives.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Sandra; daughter, Melissa Rutigliano and husband Nick of State Island, NY; son, Bruce Broyles and wife Brooke of Lehighton; and daughter, Heather Vresics and husband Ryan of Wind Gap. He was the loving grandfather of Daniella, Nicholas and Jonathan; and he will also be deeply missed by his brothers, John and Kenneth Broyles.
A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00PM on Sunday, May 21, at the home of Don and Sandra Broyles.
William C. Lotz
(September 29, 1933 - April 26, 2017)

William C. Lotz, 83, lifetime resident of Hamilton Square, died suddenly on Tuesday morning, April 26, 2017 upon arrival at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of the late Martha Jean (Kemmerer) Lotz with whom he shared 58 years of marriage at the time of her death on March 8, 2012.
Born on September 29, 1933 at the family home in Hamilton Square, he was the only child of the lateWilliam and Mary (Haney) Lotz.
He was a Korean War veteran having served in the United States Army in 1954.
In his early years, Bill worked at ACME in Stroudsburg and Dorshiemer's Meat Market in Brodheadsville; and then was a lineman for PPL from 1965 until his retirement in 1995.
He was a lifetime member of Christ Hamilton United Lutheran Church, and a member of the VFW in Sciota, Shriners, and Pocono Lodge #780 F&AM; in Cresco.
Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman having traveled across the country and to Canada on fishing trips.
Surviving are two sons, Edwin E. Lotz of East Stroudsburg and James W. Lotz and wife Maureen of Pottsville; and two grandchildren, Trevor J. Lotz and Brianna E. Lotz both of Pottsville.
The viewing will be from 4:00 to 6:00PM on Sunday, April 30, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. There will also be a viewing on Monday, May 1, from 10:00 until 10:45AM in the Lighthouse building at Christ Hamilton United Lutheran Church, 419 Bossardsville Road, (village of Hamilton Square), Stroudsburg. The funeral service will begin at 11:00AM Monday in the church sanctuary with Rev. David Danneberger officiating. Burial will follow at Laurelwood Cemetery in Stroudsburg.

Clair M. Whitmore
(June 2, 1947 - April 23, 2017)
Clair M.Whitmore, passed peacefully from this life to his heavenly home on April 23, 2017 at St. Luke's University Hospital in Bethlehem. Married on February 14, 1970, he was the husband of Amy (Young) Whitmore of Kunkletown.
Born on June 2 at home in Paradise Township, he was the son of the late George "Dick" and Carolyn (Nauman) Whitmore and enjoyed his lifetime of 70 years in Monroe County.
Clair was a musician since a young age; beginning with The 5 Teens, a band that provided square dance music to benefit Boy Scout Troop #93 and included cousins and friends with his mother calling the dance patterns. From there he performed with The Vestels, a local band popular in the 1960's. As a relative of the musical Nauman family, he sang with and accompanied Ronald Nauman, Laumont Nauman and The McWilliams Brothers Band.
Spring would call Clair to Peck's Pond and to the streams of the Poconos where he enjoydd days of successful fly fishing. During a family trip to The Grand Canyon he had the opportunity to fish the Colorado River. Fall and winter started the preparation of numerous bear and deer hunts. Over the years, friends and family would migrate to the family's century old hunting cabin in Pike County.
Clair was the proprietor of A. C. Whitmore Signs and Designs. A very talented artist, he could manipulate a paint brush as though it was a natural appendage. His biggest joy was producing hand carved gold leaf signs, some with 3-D sculptures, In the 1980s he was the proprietor of Excalibur Leather and Clock Shop where he created hand carved leather accessories, vests and sheepskin lined carved guitar straps.
Clair attended York Academy of Arts, York, PA and was a Pennsylvania Fish Commission Deputy for 10 years. A member of Christ Hamilton United Lutheran Church, he served on the church council for many terms, sang in the choir, and served on the Pastoral Relations Committee.
In addition to his wife, surviving are a son, Donald of Queens, NY; several aunts, LaVerne (Farley) Peechatka of Jackson, VA; Betty (Fred) Serfass of Boyertown, and Florence Uganst and Dorothy Kauffman both of Stroudsburg; brothers-in-law, Scott Young and John (Catherine) Young both of Snydersville; a sister-in-law, Barbara (Steve) Young-Snider of Sedona, AZ; precious nephews, Eric (Genn) Young of Evanston, WY, Stephen (Kristen) Young of Kennett Square, and Jason (Jennifer) Young of Buford, GA; many great nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins. His cherished lifelong friends, Robert and Rozanne Hedgelon; were valued companions in Clair's life.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, May 2, at Kellersville Cemetery on Kellersville Drive (village of Kellersville) with Rev. David Danneberger officiating. A time of fellowship with luncheon will follow in the Lighthouse building at Christ Hamilton United Lutheran Church in the village of Hamilton Square.
