Elmer F. Possinger, 90, of Snydersville, died Wednesday morning, February 15, 2017, at Whitestone Care Center in Stroud Township where he was a resident since 2012. He was the husband of the late Freda L. (Martz) Possinger with whom he shared 65 years of marriage at the time of her death on August 1, 2014.
Born September 18, 1926 at the family home in Reeders, he was the son of the late Charles and Florence Possinger and step-son of the late Mary Armitage.
A lifetime resident of Monroe County, he was a World War II veteran having served in the United States Army from 1945 to 1946.
After working for other construction contractors, in 1960 he founded his own business which later with his wife and sons became the family business, E.F. Possinger and Sons, Inc. of which he was president and operated for many years. They began with only a few pieces of equipment, a dump truck and a few dollars in hand with a dream to become a construction company during some of the hardest periods this country has ever experienced.
Elmer was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1136 in East Stroudsburg, Pocono Lodge #780 F&AM; in Cresco, Lehigh Consistory-32nd Degree, and Fraternal Order of Eagles #1106 in Stroud Township.
Surviving are his son, Nyles J. Possinger and wife Kitty of Snydersville; four grandchildren, Ryan Possinger, Kyle Possinger, Rachel Possinger and Kelly Powers; five great-grandchildren, Alexander Seidel, Sophia Seidel, Crosby Powers, Nola Powers and Brantley Possinger; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Elmer Roy Possinger; daughter-in-law, Dottie Possinger; and four siblings, Doris Mackes, Helen Rutt, Russ Possinger and Ben Possinger.
Viewing will begin at 10:00AM followed by the funeral service at 11:30AM on Tuesday, February 21, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. The Rev. David Danneberger will officiate. Burial will follow in the Possinger family plot at Custards Cemetery in Bartonsville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to the Possinger Memorial Fund, (a scholarship award benefiting an exceptional vocational-technical student at the Stroudsburg High School each year), 173 Second Avenue, Phoenixville, PA 19460.
Carolyn W. Gargone
(January 23, 1925 - February 12, 2017)
Carolyn W. Gargone, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother passed away on February 12, 2017, age 92, in Cedar Hills, UT with family gathered around her.
Born January 23, 1925 to Frank J. and Florence Brown Weller in Stroudsburg, PA. She graduated from Stroudsburg High School and worked as a junior draftsman at Line Material in East Stroudsburg during WWII. After the war she marriage and lived in the Stroudsburg area raising her five children from her first husband Darrel K. Gehris.
Carolyn was later employed in the commercial loan department at the former First Eastern Bank, Stroudsburg, PA retiring in 1988. She was a member of the East Stroudsburg Presbyterian Church serving in various positions and offices. She was also an active member of the Presbyterian Women, Portland Methodist Quilters Group, sang in the choirs of both the East Stroudsburg and Portland Presbyterian Churches and was a charter member of Thomas P. Lambert Post VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Stroudsburg.
Carolyn served over 35 years on the East Stroudsburg Salvation Army Advisory Board, serving as chairman for many years and was honored as a Life Member of the Board upon retiring from active service in 1998. Besides her long work with the Salvation Army, she also taught Sunday school at both the Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg Presbyterian Churches, was a Brownie Troop leader and knitted hats, mittens and made quilts as a community service for use at local food banks in Portland and the surrounding area.
In addition to the many church and community services she performed Carolyn loved gardening, feeding and watching birds, reading, crossword puzzles and traveling but spent most of her time loving and caring for her family. She was always seeking ways to help and be of service. Her loving and caring nature and acts of kindness will never be forgotten. Her children and friends were her world.
She is survived by her son David K. Gehris (Debra), Alpine, UT; and daughters Darlene Miskinis (Richard), Conshohocken, PA; Lou Ann Snyder (Don), Portland, PA; and Rebecca Rivera (Michael), Bradenton, FL. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter Carole L. Gehris, parents, step-mother Regina Weller, brother Franklin E. Weller and second husband Anthony Gargone.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 20, at 11:00AM with a viewing one hour prior to service at the Wm. H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg, PA with interment immediately following at Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg, PA.
Her family would like to express their great appreciation to the staff at The Charleston Assisted Living Center and Shelley for their loving and caring support.

Dorothea C. McNeese

Dorothea C. McNeese, 85, of Pen Argyl, died Thursday morning, February 9, 2017, at Easton Hospital in Easton.
Born on February 18, 1931 in Jersey City, NJ, she was the only child to the late John and Charlotte (Gunlock) Vallas.
She was a member of Eclipse Chapter #226, Order of Eastern Star in Lyndhurst, NJ.
Surviving are her son, David J. McNeese and his wife Alexis of Reeders; and three grandchildren, Amanda, David and Victoria McNeese. She was preceded in death by her husband, William McNeese.
Burial will take place at 11:00AM Wednesday, February 15, at Fairview Cemetery in Fairview, NJ. There will be no viewing.
Marian M. Selig

Marian (Miller) Selig, 89, of Pocono Lake, passed away peacefully on Monday evening February 13, 2017, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center. Marian will be lovingly remembered by her husband Robert C. Selig, Sr., with whom she celebrated 70 years of marriage in November 2016 with a family gathering at Mountain Laurel Golf Club.
Born in Pocono Lake, she was a daughter of the late Floyd and Mary (Schauffler) Miller and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.
She was a 1945 graduate of Tobyhanna Township High School. Her faith was very important and she held the distinction of being the most senior member of Salem United Church of Christ. She was a life time member of American Legion Auxiliary Post #413. For several years she and her husband were avid square dancers and Marian called Round Dances as part of their club participation while her husband called the Square Dances. Marian was devoted to her family, had a warm personality and generous heart. She loved spending time with family and hosted many family milestone celebrations. Most recently she looked forward to weekly visits to Pocono Lake Senior Center to visit and play bingo.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; and in addition to her husband is survived by seven children, Robert Selig, Jr and wife Mabel of Pocono Lake, Nancy Turha and husband Thomas of Bethlehem, Mary Ellen Bankus and husband Robert of Pocono Lake, Linda Snyder and husband Jeff of Bartonsville, Janet Sutliff of Pocono Lake, Laura Deane and husband Sean of Pocono Lake, and Loretta Daubert and partner Brenda of Freeland; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: Harry Miller, Nelson Miller, Eleanor Currey Walker, Kathryn Ockenhouse, Floyd Miller, and Horace Miller.
A Celebration of Life service will begin at 11:00AM on Thursday, February 16, at Salem United Church of Christ, 108 Church Street, Pocono Pines, PA; where friends and family may call from 10:00 to 11:00AM. Pastor Michael Lonergan will officiate. Burial will follow at Pocono Lake Cemetery in Pocono Lake.

Kevin J. Kosmerl
(September 7, 1956 - February 9, 2017)
Kevin J. Kosmerl, 60, of Stormville, passed away Thursday morning, February 9, 2017 at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Elizabeth A. (Heid) Kosmerl with whom he shared 33 years of marriage.
Born on September 7, 1956 in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of Lucy B. (Marshall) Kosmerl of Delaware Water Gap and the late Samuel A. Kosmerl; and lived in Monroe County for most of his life.
Following in the tradition of his late father, he was a master chef and went on to own and operate Trails End Cafe in Delaware Water Gap for 14 years.
He shared many great memories as an avid skier, golfer and fisherman with his closest friends and family.
In addition to his wife and mother, surviving are two daughters, Courtney Knowlton and husband Tyler of Brockton, MA and Kara Kosmerl and fiancé Jon Stoltenberg of Abington, MA; two sisters, Karen Benetti of San Pedro, Belize and Cynthia Anderson and husband Royal of Oak Creek, CO; a niece, Tania Smith and husband Scott of Delaware Water Gap; and many additional nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life from 4:00 to 7:00PM with a service at 5:30PM on Monday, February 13, at the annex building of the Presbyterian Church of the Mountain, Main Street, Delaware Water Gap.

Richard A. Wilk

Richard Anthony Wilk, 76, of Saylorsburg, died Friday morning, June 17, 2016 at Pocono Health System Hospice House in East Stroudsburg.
Born on January 19, 1940 in Irvington, NJ, he was a son of the late Bruno and Estelle (Przybylowicz) Wilk and lived in Monroe County for the past twenty years moving from Union, NJ.
He served in the United States Airforce and worked in sales.
Richard enjoyed radio controlled airplanes and was a ham radio operator.
Surviving are three children, Thomas Wilk of Onalaska, WI, Richard Allen Wilk of Walnutport, and Cathleen Wilk of Catasauqua; two grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Wilk of Parsippany, NJ.
As per his wishes cremation was private and there will be no services.
