Arline G. Dotter, 92, a resident of Pleasant Valley Manor and formerly of Smithfield Township, entered eternal life on Thursday morning, March 9, 2017, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono in East Stroudsburg. She was the widow of Russell T. Dotter with whom she celebrated 66 years of marriage at the time of his death in May 2016.
Born on October 20, 1924 in Lackawaxen, she was the daughter of the late Arthur H. and Anna (Hessberger) Haupt.
She worked for the U.S Post Office in Lackawaxen and at Bixler's Jewelry Store in Easton; and was a very successful Avon Representative for 46 years, having achieved many awards and sales levels.
Arline was a member and Past Royal Matron of the Dorothy Lim Memorial Court Order of Amaranth; and a member of the Red Hat Society - Scarlet O'Hatters, the Eckert-Haupt Veterans of Foreign War Post 5635 Ladies Auxiliary in Lackawaxen, and the former Grace Lutheran Church in East Stroudsburg.
She enjoyed bowling and camping, and was an avid card player with many clubs. In her early years she was an accomplished pianist.
Arline brought many smiles and much laughter to her friends. She was a loving wife and mother to her husband and six children and her door was always open to the many people who needed her at any time. A more caring and compassionate woman would be hard to find, indeed!
Surviving are five children, Glenn R. Dotter and wife Colleen of Salida, CO, Wayne T. Dotter and wife Holly Newcomb of East Stroudsburg, Denise A. Rogers and husband Richard P. Sr. of Green Lane, Nanette L. Eckel and husband Christian of Richville, NY, and Gregg E. Dotter and wife Rae Anne of Howard, CO; 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Darline A. Dotter on February 28, 2016; a granddaughter, Heather Rogers; and four brothers, Harold Haupt, Donald Haupt, Raymond "Bud" Haupt and Warren "Pete" Haupt.
Visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00AM followed by the memorial service at 11:00AM on Saturday, June 24, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. The Rev. Dr. John Harding will officiate. Cremation was private and burial will take place at Lackawaxen Cemetery.

Bruce C. Owens
(February 6, 1974 - April 28, 2017)
Bruce A. Owens, 43, of Stroud Township, died early Friday morning, April 28, 2017, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg in Bethlehem. He was the husband of Susan (Deiter) Owens with whom he shared eight years of marriage on April 4th.
Born on February 6, 1974 in East Stroudsburg, he was a son of Marie (Roth) Youngken of Orange City, FL and the late Clarence E. Owens, Sr..
He was a life-long resident of Monroe County and 1992 graduate of East Stroudsburg High School.
Bruce was formerly employed by Pocono Produce and currently worked for H & K.
He was a 24 year member and past Chief of the Stroud Township Volunteer Fire Department; and was also on the bowling league at Skylanes in East Stroudsburg.
In addition to his wife and mother, surviving are three sons, Wyatt, Lucas and Bryce Owens all at home; two brothers, Chris Owens and wife Melissa of East Stroudsburg and Ted Owens and wife Mary Ann of Hamburg; a sister, Traci Van Eik and husband Marc of Middletown; a half-sister, Allie Matthew and husband Pete of Carlisle; a half-brother, Clark Springer and wife Lisa of California; step-mother, Sandy Owens of Carlisle; an uncle, Larry Roth and wife Vicki of Scotrun; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and his best friend, Chris Staples.
The viewing will begin at 9:00AM followed by funeral service at 11:00AM on Monday, May 1, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. Fire company chaplain, Brian McCartney will officiate. Burial will follow at Sand Hill Cemetery in Shoemakers.

Donald G. Conway
(June 30, 1925 - April 30, 2017)

Donald G. Conway, 91, of Cresco and formerly of Tannersville, died Sunday, April 30, 2017, at Pleasant Valley Manor in Hamilton Township. He was the husband of the late Gloria Conway who died February 17, 1991.
Born on June 30, 1925 in New York, he was the son of the late Abraham and Helen (Hetzel) Conway and lived in Monroe County since 1990.
He was a World War II veteran having served in the United States Army.
Don was chief school custodian in Greenlawn, NY prior to retirement.
He was a member of B.P.O. Elks #319 in East Stroudsburg and Greenlawn Fire Department in Greenlawn, NY.
Surviving are seven grandchildren, Eric Muchansky and Lisa Brown both of Atlanta, GA, Jimmy Muchansky, Kathleen, Kerry Muchansky and Lori Muchansky all of Long Island, NY and Donna Muchansky of Florida.
As per his request, there was no viewing or service and private burial with military honors took place at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, NY.
Carolyn H. Pohl
(February 29, 1932 - May 14, 2017)
Carolyn Heydt Pohl, 85, of Paradise Township, died Sunday, May 14th, 2017, at Grace Park in Stroudsburg, PA.
Born on February 29, 1932 in Paradise Valley, PA in the "Sunset Cottage" at Paradise Falls Lutheran Association, she was delivered by Dr. Nina Price. Carolyn was the daughter of the late Harold E. and Hilda D. (Keltz) Heydt.
Prior to retirement, she was a special education teacher for the IU 20. She worked in the Pocono Mountain and East Stroudsburg School Districts; and prior to the IU20, she worked in the Neshaminy School District in Bucks County.
Surviving are two children, David H. Pohl of San Diego, CA and Jo Anne Pohl of Paradise Falls: two grandchildren, Rachel and Annika; and three sisters, June H. Katz, Nancy H. Hopkins and Geraldine M. Cramer. She was predeceased by her sister, Demis Heydt.
A Memorial Gathering of family and friends will be held at Paradise Falls Lutheran Association at the "Lounge" (103 Beach Road, Cresco) on Friday, May 19th, from 4:00 to 7:00PM. Cremation was private and burial will take place at the convenience of the family at Keokee Chapel Cemetery in Paradise Valley. Lynn "Lenny" S. Marks
(December 12, 1931 - May 16, 2017)
Lynn "Lenny" S. Marks, 85, of Hamilton Township, died Tuesday morning, May 16, 2017, in Ormond Beach, FL. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Janet (Wilbur) Marks.
Born on December 12, 1931 in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Spence T. and Jean H. Marks.
Lynn was a 1950 graduate of Towson High School in Towson, MD; attended Gettysburg College in Gettysburg; and graduated from GM Institute in Flint, MI.
He held various jobs throughout his lifetime but spent many years as the "best" bartender in the Poconos. He owned and operated Lenny's Tavern in Stroudsburg; and prior to retirement, worked with his wife in the Kellogg Insurance Agency.
He was a 42 year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1106 in Stroud Township where he served as president and chaplain.
Lynn was a former golfer and an avid Yankee fan.
In addition to his wife, surviving are three daughters, Cheryl (Brian) Gower, Linda (James) Searer and Kriste (Jeffrey) Stewart; a son, Lynn S. (Claire) Marks II; three stepdaughters, Lori (Brent) Clayson, Jill (Joseph) Minarik and Bonnie (Mark) Beaver; a stepson, Michael (Kathleen) Hudecek; 19 grandchildren; 13 great grandhildren with another expected; two sisters, Carol Richards of Immokolee, FL and Nancy Chapman of Lake Oswego, OR.; two nieces and three nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson, Matthew S. Marks.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 3, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg, with visitation beginning at 10:00AM followed by the memorial service at 11:00AM.
