Flo Hornbeck-Manter, 89, of Stroud Township, died Thursday morning, November 23, 2017, upon arrival at St. Luke's Hospital - Monroe Campus in Bartonsville after being stricken at home. She was the wife of Lloyd E. Manter.
Born on November 20, 1928, at home in Stroud Township, she was a daughter of the late James F. Sr. and Iva (Cyphers) Frailey.
She was a lifetime resident of Monroe County, graduated from Stroudsburg High School in 1946, and in her early years worked as a secretary for Katz Brothers. Later she owned and operated Hill Meadow Stables in Stroud Township.
Flo was a member of Reeders United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, surviving are a son, Byron Lininger and wife Mary of Stroud Township; three grandchildren, Brook Lininger, Braden Lininger and wife Shelly, and James Lininger; two great-grandchildren, Willo and Holly; a brother, Rev. Leo Frailey and wife Nancy of Columbus, OH; a sister, Nancy Treible and husband Raun of Clermont, FL; many nieces and nephews; and four step-children, Janice Carrig, Lucinda Monson; David Manter and Robert Manter and their families. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Oyer and Emma Jean Singer; and a brother, James F. Frailey.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 2 with visitation beginning at 1:00PM followed by the memorial service at 2:00PM at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. Flo's brother, Rev. Leo Frailey will officiate. Cremation was private and burial will take place at a later date at Reeders Methodist Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Merrill J. Reddinger, Jr.

Merrill J. Reddinger Jr. 81, of Stroudsburg, died Thursday morning, November 23, 2017, while under hospice care in his daughter's home in Coopersburg. He was the husband of the late Daphne (Molsted) Reddinger who passed away in 1987.
Born on April 7, 1936 in Bangor, he was the son of the late Merrill J. Sr. and Elizabeth (Roberts) Reddinger.
As a graduate of Bangor High School in 1954, Merrill enlisted in the Navy and served his country for four years. Following his service, he moved back to Bangor and marriage Daphne Molsted, whom he met in Honolulu, Hawaii while in the Navy. He then attended East Stroudsburg State College and received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1965. He worked for 25 years for the state of PA as a Health Inspector with the Department of Environmental Resources. In addition to his position with the State, he also worked along side his brother Gary Reddinger, as co-owner of the family business at Cherry Valley Trout Hatchery.
After his wife’s passing in 1987, Merrill enjoyed many years of traveling during his retirement with his long time companion, Janet Perrine.
Surviving are a daughter, Kimberley Horvath and her husband Mark of Coopersburg; two granddaughters, Lindsey and Chelsea Horvath; a brother, Gary Reddinger of Cherry Valley; several nieces and a nephew, and his long-time companion, Janet Perrine of Stroudsburg.
Services will be held on Sunday, December 3, with visitation beginning at 1:00PM followed by the memorial service at 2:00PM at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. The cremation was private and the burial will take place at a later date at the Flicksville Cemetery.
Flowers may be sent to William H. Clark Funeral Home. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Ernest E. Lesoine

Ernest E. Lesoine, Jr., 79, of Cherry Valley, died Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at home. He was the husband of Lucille R. (Riddle) Lesoine with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.
Born on November 27, 1938 in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late Ernest E. Sr. and Eleanor (Parker) Lesoine and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Ernie worked as a welder at Trumatic and Patterson-Kelley and also owned and operated Ernest Lesoine Excavating.
He was a member of J. Simpson Africa Lodge No. 628 F&AM;, Old Tyme Tractor Club, and Jacktown Tractor Club.
He enjoyed four wheel truck pulling and tractor pulling.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Beverly Jones of East Stroudsburg.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 2, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg with visitation beginning at 9:30AM followed by memorial service at 10:30AM. Cremation was private.

Nelson C. Shirk

Nelson C. Shirk, 83, of Stroud Township, died Wednesday evening, November 29, 2017, while under hospice care in his home. He was the husband of Vivian R. (Miller) Shirk with whom he shared 53 years of marriage.
Born on August 27, 1934 in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late Carl and Florence (Menzel) Shirk and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.
He was a 1953 graduate of East Stroudsburg High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Nelson worked as a printer at the former Hughes Printing until retiring in 1996 after 41 years of service.
In addition to his wife, surviving are three children, Deborah Blystone of Stroud Township, Russell Smeltz of Wooddale, and Karen Kaulfers and husband Joseph of Meridian, MS; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother, Wesley Shirk and wife Betty of Lafayette, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
The memorial service will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, December 6, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. Cremation was private and there will be no visitation.

Newlin E. Collins

Newlin E. Collins, 80, of Jackson Township, died suddenly on Friday, November 24, 2017, upon arrival at St. Luke's Hospital - Monroe Campus in Bartonsville after being stricken at home. He was the husband of Marjorie F. Young-Collins.
Born on December 5, 1936 in Pennsauken, NJ, he was the son of the late Newlin and Roberta (Hunter) Collins, and lived in Monroe County since 1982 moving from Morristown, NJ.
He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for J.C. Pillion Construction Company in Morris Plains, NJ.
Newlin was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Stroudsburg; and a former member of NAACP and the Lions Club.
In addition to his wife, surviving are two children, Candace Collins of East Stroudsburg and Dean Collins of Stroudsburg; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother, Ronald Collins of Camden, NJ; two sisters, Marilyn Evans of Morristown, NJ and Carol Hill of Sicklerville, NJ; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Orville Collins.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 2, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 831 Ann Street, Stroudsburg, with the viewing beginning at noon followed by the homegoing ervice at 1:30PM. Pastor Carl McCullough will officiate. Private cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to American Diabetes Association.
