Lawrence H. Hardy III, 65, of Cresco, died early Friday morning October 27, 2017, at Lehigh Valley Hospice House - Pocono in East Stroudsburg.
Born on June 28, 1952 in East Stroudsburg, he was a son of Adelaide (Batchler) Hardy of Cresco and the late Lawrence H. Hardy Jr..
He was a lifetime resident of Monroe County and served in the United States Marines Corps.
Larry worked at Rock-Tenn in Delaware Water Gap for 25 years.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman; and enjoyed mowing grass with his John Deere tractor and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his mother, surviving are two children, Lawrence H. Hardy IV and Lisa Bartholomew both of Saylorsburg; six grandchildren, Tyler, Billy, Alex, Zoe, Marc and Giuliana; four great-grandchildren, Austin, Isabella, Nexus and Hadlee; three siblings, Fred Hardy and Anna Marie Burch both of Stroudsburg, and David Hardy of White Haven; and nieces and nephews.
The viewing will begin at 10:00 AM followed by funeral service at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 1, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. Burial with military honors will follow at Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg.

Thomas "Moon" B. Mullen

Thomas "Moon" B. Mullen, Jr., 80, of Paradise Township, died Saturday morning, October 28, 2017, while under hospice care in his home. He was the husband of the late Margaret "Joyce" (Siglin) Mullen who died April 3, 1998.
Born on April 22, 1937 in East Stroudsburg, he was a son of the late Dr. Thomas B. Sr. and Imogene (Price) Mullen and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.
He worked as a truck driver for Consolidated Freight and as a heavy equipment operator.
Tom was a life member of the Barrett Township Volunteer Fire Company.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Reed Mullen in 2014; and a brother, Patrick Mullen in 1987.
Memorial services will be held at noon on Saturday, November 11, at the Barrett Township Firehouse, 6690 Route 191, Cresco. Cremation was private and burial will take place at Keokee Chapel Cemetery.

Loretta Anthes

Loretta Anthes, 90, of Stroudsburg, died Wednesday afternoon, April 12, 2017, while under hospice care at Grace Park where she was a resident.
Born on April 23, 1926 in Knox Dale, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Marie (Dinger) Moore.
She owned and operated the Thornhurst Tavern for several years.
Loretta was an active member of East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church, volunteered with Salvation Army and sang in the Golden Chords.
Surviving are six children, Gail Cavanaugh of Southampton, NJ, Brian E. Workman of Newnan, GA, David A. Workman of Henderson, NV, John Ramsey of Mt. Pocono, Peggy Blair of Georgetown, TX, and Jack Lester of Corsicana, TX; six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two sisters, Karen Wolf of Knox Dale and Cheryl Martin of Lancaster; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Richard Workman and Louis Anthes: and twin daughters, Jean Hedin and Janet Loveday.
Visitation will begin at 10:00AM followed by the memorial service at 11:00AM on Friday, April 21, at East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church, 83 South Courtland Street, East Stroudsburg. The Rev. James Todd will officiate. Cremation was private.

John Ernest "Jake" Jacobsen

John Ernest "Jake" Jacobsen, 70, of Canadensis, died Thursday, October 9, while under hospice care at home.
Born on September 14, 1944 in Plainfield, NJ, he was the son of the late John and Virginia (Whiting) Jacobsen.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era and was a plumber and truck driver.
John was a member of the Pocono Lodge #780 F&AM; and also Commander since 2006 and member of the Evans-Blitz Post 922 American Legion in Canadensis.
Surviving are: three children, John Harley Jacobsen and his wife Maureen of Phoenixville, Amber Lee Jacobsen of Wilkes-Barre and Joseph Jacobsen of Ormand Beach, FL; three grandchildren, Dylan Romero, Hayden West and Grace Ann Jacobsen; a sister, Kathleen Busby of Charlotte, NC; and his fiance, Cyndi Vanderweel and her daughter, Lyndsay Vanderweel and grandchildren, Joshua and Avery Garsky.
There will be a memorial visitation from 1:00 to 3:00PM on Saturday, October 18, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main St., Stroudsburg. Private cremation took place at H.G. Smith Crematory in Stroudsburg.
Linda Leigh Bisbing

Linda Leigh Bisbing, 56, of Stroudsburg, died Saturday, January 28, at Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. She was the widow of James M. Bisbing who died June 17, 2010.
Born on March 6, 1955 in Morristown, NJ, she was a daughter of the late John Robert and Martha (Jones) Schwarz and lived in Monroe County for the past 30 years.
She worked as a waitress at the Lantern Diner and then at the Arlington Diner for 29 years.
Linda was a member of the Walnut Valley Church in Blairstown, NJ.
Surviving are a sister, Elizabeth Decker and her husband Ron of Lafayette, NJ; a brother, Howard Schwarz and his wife Barbara of Newton, NJ and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Sandra Schwarz and Jo-Ann Jennings and a brother, John R. Schwarz, Jr..
There will be no services at this time. Cremation will take place at the H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to be used towards funeral expenses c/o Clark Funeral Home.
Joseph M. Shukaitis

Joseph M. Shukaitis, 89, of Smithfield Township, passed away on May 16, 2014 at VNA Hospice House in East Stroudsburg, in the comfort of his famiy. He was the husband of Nancy (Michael) Shukaitis, sharing 67 years of marriage.
Born May 24, 1924 in Mahanoy City, he was a son of the late Joseph and Alice (Stanaitis) Shukaitis. He was a resident of the Smithfields most of his life. He was a member of St. Matthew's Roman Cahtolic Church in East Stroudsburg.
Joseph was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Merchant Marines after graduating from Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY. During the war, he served on several liberty ships, earning medals for service in the Atlantic, Pacific and Mediterranean-Middle East war zones and the U.S. Dept. of Transportation/Maritime Administration Victory Medal for Active Service during WWII.
He worked at Patterson-Kelley Co., East Stroudsburg for 32 years, retiring in 1982 as manager of standard products, Heat Exchanger Division. His hobbies were working in his large garden, landscaping, making wine, intricate wood-crafting artwork and 10-year membership of the Beverly Hills (Florida) Craft Club.
A graduate of Mahanoy City High School, Joseph attended East Stroudsburg State College and University of Pittsburgh Dental School. He obtained a teaching degree from Rollins College, Florida.
Joseph was past president of St. Matthew's Parents' Association; past president of Shawnee Fire Co.; treasurer of Dutch Hill Gun Clug; a radiological monitoring officer for Monroe County Civil Defense; an ambulance attendant with Bushkill Ambulance Corps; and a member of the Delaware Valley Conservation Association.
In addition to his wife, Nancy, Joseph Shukaitis is survived by his four children; his daughter, Alice (Shukaitis) Olenick and her husband, David of Waitsfield, Vermont; and three sons, Alan J. Shukaitis and his wife, Patti of Pen Argyl, Andrew Shukaitis and his wife, Sandy of East Stroudsburg, and Arthur Shukaitis of Allentown; his grandchildren, Rebecca, now deceased; Jennifer (Shukaitis) O'Hay and her husband, Keith of East Stroudsburg; Diane Shukaitis of East Stroudsburg, Stevphen Shukaitis and his wife, Stefanie of Wivenhoe, England, Matthew Shukaitis of West Hollywood, CA and Annette, Virginia, Andrew II, Mark, Kyle and Lacey, all of East Stroudsburg; his great grandchildre, Gustav of Wivenhoe, England; and a daughter-in-law, Jill Shukaitis and her sister, Jeanie Maiden.
Joseph is survived by his brother, George Shukaitis of Flourtown, whose wife, Charlette is deceased. They had two children, Val of Flourtown and Gary who is deceased. Joseph's other brother, Edward Shukaitis, is deceased, survived by his wife, Christa, of Wilmington, DE and their children, Karen Mark and Lisa.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am, Saturday, at 10:00AM at St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church, East Stroudsburg with Msgr. John A. Bergamo as celebrant. Interment will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Shawnee Valley.
