Martha Scanlon Ernest, 92, passed away on Saturday November 18, 2017 at Grace Park, Stroudsburg PA, her home since 2009.
She was born on November 12, 1925 in Oakland CA but grew up in Oreland PA. She received a BA in Religious Education from Maryville College, Maryville TN, and taught public school for several years. In 1948, Martha marriage her college sweetheart, Nelson Ernest of Port Royal PA, who passed away in 2015. They started their life together in Michigan before moving to New Jersey where they lived until 2003. The Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania was their beloved second home. Martha was a homemaker and raised a family while proving her keen administrative skills in volunteer work with the United Presbyterian Church, Church Women United and the Girl Scouts among others. She was an enthusiastic writer of newsletters, poetry and journals. Her other passions were music and travel. Intellectually curious, good-hearted and grateful to the end, Martha will be sorely missed. She loved the large circle of family that enriched her life.
Martha is survived by her two daughters, Miriam Bandfield and husband Peter of Marion IA, Cynthia Ernest and her partner Elizabeth Grossi of Pawtucket RI, and son Timothy Ernest and wife Wendy of Stroudsburg PA; grandchildren Jessica Matthews of Leeds UK, Jennifer Wenner and husband Jason of Benton PA, Laura Bandfield of Cedar Rapids IA, Jesse Bandfield and wife Emily of Detroit MI, and Anna Bandfield of Cedar Falls IA; great-granddaughter Macey Wenner and well-loved nieces and nephews and their families.
The memorial service will begin at 11:00am on Friday, November 24, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg PA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Stroudsburg United Methodist Church.
Mark A. Masgula
(December 3, 1974 - November 18, 2017)
Mark A. Masgula, 42, of Stroudsburg, died suddenly on Saturday evening, November 18, 2017, at home.
Born on December 3, 1974 in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of Patricia (Molyneaux) Masgula of Stroudsburg and the late Michael Masgula. He was a lifetime resident of Monroe County and graduate of Stroudsburg High School.
Mark worked at All American Sports Corp..
In addition to his mother, surviving are a brother, Timothy Vought of Stroudsburg; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by a half brother, James Mascula.
The viewing will begin at 2:00PM followed by a funeral service at 3:30PM on Friday, November 24, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. Private cremation will follow with burial at a later date at Sand Hill Cemetery.

Ruth M. Auer
(December 1, 1917 - November 17, 2017)
Ruth (Marshall) Auer, 99, of Stroudsburg, passed away Friday, November 17, 2017, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono in East Stroudsburg. She was a resident of Pleasant Valley Manor nursing home for the last 5 1/2 years. Ruth was the widow of Rudy M. Auer with whom she shared 73 years of marriage at the time of his death on March 17, 2013.
Born on December 1, 1917 in Stroudsburg, she was the daughter of the late Paul L. and Laura (Neipert) Marshall and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County. Ruth graduated in 1935 from Stroudsburg High School and then returned in 1936 to complete a post grad course in typing and bookkeeping. For ten years she was employed by A.B. Wyckoff Department Store in the accounting office.
Ruth was a member of the Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm where she enjoyed helping with school children in the gift shop as a cashier.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Smigel and husband Eugene of Stroudsburg, and Karen Rouse and husband Christopher of Philadelphia; and a grandson, Daniel Rouse of Philadelphia.
There will be a small private memorial service for Ruth.

Waldron H. Smith
(October 23, 1939 - November 17, 2017)
Waldron H. Smith (aka “Nip” “Nipper” or “Barney”) went peacefully to eternity on Friday morning, November 17, 2017, at Slate Belt Nursing & Rehab. Center in Bangor. He was the widower of Kay Smith who died November 18, 2015.
Born on October 23, 1939 in East Stroudsburg, he was the only child of the late Harry and Ruth (VanWhy) Smith and was a lifelong resident of Monroe County.
He was a 1957 graduate of Stroudsburg High School and in 1965 began working at McGraw Edison/Cooper Industries, from where he retired after 35 years of service.
Waldron enjoyed serving his community he loved so dear. In the 1970’s he assisted the Civil Defense division in Monroe County by monitoring creeks and rivers for flooding. He later went on to become a member of General Ambulance Corps transport crew for several years; and also volunteered with Salvation Army delivering food or serving firemen at fires. Throughout his life he enjoyed staying connected with friends by talking on his “CB Radio” and belonging to radio clubs in Monroe County. Waldron was committed to keeping his community safe by spending long hours on Crime Watch and Police Commission meetings with his friends Wanda and Charlie. He was also a member of Presbyterian Church of the Mountain in Delaware Water Gap.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda Kaufman and husband Edward and grandson, Daniel: and Joy Titman and husband Thomas and grandchildren, Kohl, and Jessica Smith; four great grandchildren, Joshua, Amor, Nazae and Zyier; a son, Brian Richards and wife Lauren and their daughter, Grace; and his faithful canine companion, Misty.
The viewing will begin at 2:00PM followed by the funeral service at 3:00PM on Monday, November 20, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. The Rev. Sherry Blackman will officiate. Private cremation will follow with burial at Stroudsburg Cemetery.

Anthony M. Kojeszewski
(April 2, 1943 - November 15, 2017)
Anthony Michael Kojeszewski, 74, of Henryville, died Wednesday morning, November 15, 2017, while under hospice care in his home. He was the husband of Beverly D. (Alfrey) Kojeszewski with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.
Born on April 2, 1943 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Anthony and Beatrice (Wetton) Kojeszewski and lived in Monroe County since 1979, moving from Philadelphia.
He was a member of Pocono Bible Church in Mountainhome.
In addtion to his wife, surviving are four children, Anthony D. Kojeszewski of Stroudsburg, Kevin Kojeszewski of Mt. Pocono, Jeffery Kojeszewski of Henryville, and Sharon Doerr of Henryville; eight grandchildren, Andrew Doerr of East Stroudsburg, Michael Doerr of Henryville, Madeline Kojeszewski of Mt. Pocono, Benjamin Kojeszewski of Mt. Pocono, David Kojeszewski of Stroudsburg, Justin Kojeszewski of Stroudsburg, Jakub Szypulski of Stroudsburg, and JoAnna Szypulski of Stroudsburg; ; five siblings, Deloris, Shirley, Helen, Charlotte and Michael; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice.
The viewing will begin at 10:00AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00AM on Monday November 20, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. Pastor Barry Whitmer will officiate. Burial will follow at Laurelwood Cemetery in Stroudsburg.

Nancy Lynne Baird
(September 4, 1962 - November 14, 2017)
Nancy Lynne Baird, 55, of Mount Bethel, died Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg in Bethlehem. She was the wife of Terrence "Terry" D. Baird with whom she shared 33 years of marriage.
Born on September 4, 1962 in East Stroudsburg, she was a daughter of the late Ronald and Evelyn (Schuster) Horl; and lived in Monroe County until moving to Mt. Bethel in 1992.
She worked as a dental assistant at West Morris Dental Associates in Succasunna, NJ and Star Dentistry in Phillipsburg, NJ.
In addition to her husband, surviving are two sisters, Debra Schick of Mountainhome and Brenda VanDervelde of Phoenix, AZ.
The viewing will begin at 11:00AM followed by a prayer service at 1:00PM on Friday, November 17, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. The Rev. Carmen Perry will officiate. Entombment will follow in Mountain Laurel Mausoleum at Laurelwood Cemetery in Stroudsburg.

Doris A. Bond
(August 7, 1923 - November 5, 2017)
Doris A. Bond, 94, of Cherry Valley, died early Sunday morning, November 5, 2017, at The Gardens at Stroud in East Stroudsburg. She was the widow of Warren N. Bond with whom she shared 62 yrs of marriage at the time of his death on July 16, 2014.
Born on August 7, 1923, in Nazareth, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Nellie (Young) Wunderly and was a life long resident of Monroe County.
She was a member of Poplar Valley United Methodist Church.
Surviving are five sons, Donald Serfass and wife Kathy of Gray Court, SC, Terry Bond and wife Chris of Dickson, TN, Hal Serfass and Brenda Brown of East Stroudsburg, Jean Serfass (former wife) of Coopersburg, Timothy Bond and fiancee Michelle of Cherry Valley and James Bond and wife Lynn of Newfoundland, 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lesler Wunderly, a son, Gary Bond, a granddaughter, Jayne Marie Bond and a daughter-in-law, Melanie Bond.
The viewing will begin at 10:00 am followed by funeral service at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 11, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. The Rev. Paul Crikelair will officiate. Burial will follow at Keller’s Cherry Valley Cemetery.
