Charles D. Parker, 63, of 1805 Turbot Ave., Watsontown, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born Aug. 8, 1948 in Lewisburg, he was a son of the late Lee M. and June B. (Spotts) Parker. On Oct. 10, 1970 he marriage Charles served as a Lance Corporal in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. He worked as a forklift operator at the former Interstate Motor Freight in New Columbia
He was a member of the Muffley-Huff Post 8206 V.F.W. in Turbotville, the American Legion Post #44 in Northumberland, the Loyal Order of Moose #171 in Milton, the Fraternal Order of Eagles #1208 in Milton, and the Hemlock Girl Scout Council. Charles enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as traveling on his motorcycle. He also volunteered as a coach for t-ball and Little League baseball.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one son and daughter-in-law, Charles D. II and Natalie J. Parker of New Columbia; two daughters and sons-in-law, Camella A. and Tedd A. Brungard of Watsontown and Tessa M. and Michael M. Fisher of Milton; one brother, Lee “Pete” (Carol) Parker of Northumberland; three sisters, Barbara Carl of New Columbia, Nancy (Rich) Hendricks of Milton; and Linda Boop (Joseph) Noll of Vicksburg; and six grandchildren, Cassandra Brungard, Trishelle Brungard, Tierra Fisher, Montgomery Fisher, Wyatt Parker and Drake Parker.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two brothers-in-law, Nathan Boop and Roland “Bud” Carl.
Friends will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Watsontown United Methodist Church, 1319 Eighth St. Drive, Watsontown, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Officiating will be Rev. Douglas M. Eberly. Full military honors will be accorded following the service at the church.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to Veterans Support Foundation, 8719 Colesville Road, Suite 100, Silver Spring, MD 20910.

Nancy Ann Ladd
Nancy Ann Ladd, 75, of Watsontown, died Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at home surrounded by family and loved ones.
Born February 27, 1936 in Watsontown, she was the daughter of the late John and Madelyn (Allen) McIntyre. A 1954 graduate of Watsontown High School, she also received an Associate Degree from the former Our Lady of Angels in Aston.
Nancy and her husband, Dennie Ladd, were marriage She was an avid reader, her favorite quote being “You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.” Nancy enjoyed traveling, and most often spoke of Ireland, England, Bermuda and Alaska, as some of her favorite destinations. She was a crossword puzzle extraordinaire, enjoyed gardening and was a passionate fan of Elvis. Nancy also loved old movies and enjoyed discussing them with anyone who shared her interest. She loved to cook and bake and shared her recipes and kitchen talents with her sons. Nancy held the time she got to spend with her family, especially her grandchildren as the most precious.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 57 years are four sons and two daughters-in-law, Dennie R. Ladd of New York, Barry “Mike” and Suzi Ladd of Brookhaven, John Ladd of Aston and Brian and Caren Ladd of Chadds Ford; one brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Diane McIntyre of Watsontown; six grandchildren, Jason, Sean, Shane, Brian, Brooke and Conor; and ten nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one grandson, Adam Michael Ladd.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 25, at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown. Officiating will be Pastor Todd Baker, minister at First Baptist Church, Elimsport.

Richard C. "Dick" Gottschall, Sr.
Richard C. "Dick" Gottschall, Sr., 75, of 202 E. 9th St., Watsontown, died Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
Born September 15, 1936 in Muncy, he was a son of the late Willard and Pearl (Andrews) Gottschall. On November 11, 1961 he marriage A graduate of Muncy High School in 1954, he went on to serve in the United States Air Force for 4 years. Dick retired in 1999 after 44 years at Sprout Waldron (now Andritz) in Muncy, where he worked as an inspector.
Dick was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Turbotville.
He was a lifetime member of the Keystone Sportsmen Association, Muncy and was very involved with the Muncy Historical Society. Dick was interested in canals and covered bridges and was a member of the Pennsylvania Canal Society. He also loved to scrapbook, hunt and fish.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Richard Gottschall Jr. and Rodney Gottschall both of Watsontown; one daughter, Deborah Gottschall of Watsontown; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Connie Gottschall of Florida; and two grandchildren, Mark and Melissa Catherman of Mansfield, TX.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by one daughter, Cathy "Marie" Gottschall; and one brother, James Gottschall
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2012 at the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown, where the funeral will be held at 11a.m. with the Rev. Jill Seagle, pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Delaware Run, officiating.
Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.

Vivian K. Guyer
Vivian K. Guyer, 88, a resident of Kramm Healthcare Center, Milton, died Friday, March 30, 2012.
Born March 20, 1924 in Lewisburg, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Ethel Mae (Martin) Kline. On January 1, 1966, she marriage Vivian was a graduate of Lewisburg High School. She later retired as a supervisor from JPM, Lewisburg.
Vivian enjoyed spending many summers with her husband at their retirement home in Poe Valley. Among her many interests, she liked to play cards, read and spend time with her family.
Surviving is one daughter; Karen Whitman-Browder of Montandon, two grandchildren, Vicki DeVett and Nicole Browder; and five great-grandchildren, Amaya Walswick, Izabella and William DeVett and Bertram and Chauncy Davis.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one son, Charles R. Whitman; one granddaughter, Kimberly Davis; one sister, Isabel Hanlin; and one brother, Raymond Kline.
In keeping with her wishes, services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.

March 5, 1954. Following marriage, they relocated to Brookhaven. She was a loving wife and wonderful mother, spending much of her time raising four boys. In 2001, Nancy returned home to Watsontown along with her husband to celebrate their retirement.
the former Emily M. Crawford, who survives. Together they celebrated 50 years of marriage.
William D. Guyer, with whom she shared 38 years until his death on July 23, 2004.
