Robert A. “Bob” Williams, 61, of 135 Dougal Street, Milton, died Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
Born October 20, 1947 in Monticello, IA, he was the son of the late Frank G. and Martha L. (Schawe) Williams.
On February 24, 2005, he marriage the former Joan Reish, who survives.
Bob was a graduate of Monticello High School and attended Boston University.
He was a U.S. Army veteran stationed at Fort Lee, VA during the Vietnam Era. He worked at the Universal Wood Corp. in Emporia, VA, then in 1975 went to the Masonite Corporation. Being a self employed publisher, he started the Fish Finder Inc. magazine in 1978 and also initiated and published the monthly Focus in Building Magazine for 12 years.
He was a member of the Central Susquehanna Valley Builders Association where he served on the county, state and national board and was the 2nd Vice President of the local chapter. Bob was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, Petersburg, VA, the Lewisburg Rotary and Kratzer-Dull American Legion Post #3182, Lewisburg.
Bob enjoyed traveling, gourmet cooking, working on his house and building things. He was in a local poker club for over 25 years and also an avid fisherman. His infectious smile got to everyone, making him able to cheer up people in any situation.
Surviving in addition to his wife of three years are two daughters and one son-in-law, Lindsey and Jonathan Randall of Cary, NC and Kirby Williams of Athens, GA; two step-sons, Chad Sample of Media and Brent Sample of Milton; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Judy Williams of Monticello, IA; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Becky and Kevin Carlson of Bettendorf, IA and Emily and John Wheeler of Fargo, ND and one grandson, Liam Randall.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family. A memorial service in June is being planned and will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bob’s name may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 100 N. Academy & Care Lane, Danville, PA 17821 or Camp Courageous of Iowa, 12007 190th Street, P.O. Box 418, Monticello, Iowa 52310.
The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second & St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg.
Hazel A. Place
Hazel A. Place, 99, of 743 Mahoning St., Milton, died Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Kramm Healthcare Center, Milton.
Born April 10, 1910, in Winfield, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Minnie (DeWire) Gemberling. She and her husband, Kenneth F. Place, observed 54 years of marriage until his death September 19, 2002.
After graduating from high school, Hazel attended Beauty School and received her degree. She opened a shop on Market Street in Lewisburg which she operated for many years.
She attended churches in both Lewisburg and West Milton.
In her spare time she enjoyed playing cards and often went with her husband to shoot guns.
Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by four brothers, Ervin, William, Richard and Raymond Gemberling and three sisters, Mae Stover, Margaret Derr and Violet Shirk.
Friends will be received from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, S. Second & St. Louis streets, Lewisburg, where her funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Patricia A. Bennett, pastor of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, West Milton, officiating. Burial will follow in the Lewisburg Cemetery.
Eleanor L. Weaver
Eleanor L. Weaver, 75, of 687 Noaker Road, Milton, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
Born April 19, 1934 in Lewisburg, she was a daughter of the late Fred M. and Martha (Dirk) Straub. On April 8, 1961 she marriage Thomas M. Weaver, Sr. They would have celebrated 49 years of marriage this month.
Eleanor was a graduate of Lewisburg High School.
She worked as a retail associate at the former Ames in Milton and Sunbury as well as the former Town and Country and other area department stores.
Surviving in addition to her husband are six sons, Thomas M. (Carol) Weaver, Jr. of Buffalo Mills, Samuel L. Weaver of Milton, David E. Weaver of Florida, Robert D. Weaver of Pottsgrove, Fred B. (Leah) Weaver of New Columbia and Oscar M. (Lisa) Weaver of New Columbia; three daughters, Dorothy E. (J. Stephen) Walker of Whitehall, Kathleen M. (Richard A.) Wesner of Lewisburg and Mary R. (Ray C.) Minnier of Sunbury; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a special friend Miranda S. Lubold who shared her life with Eleanor and Thomas.
Friends will be received from 10:30 to 11:00 A.M. Saturday, at the Crossroads Church of the Nazarene Lodge, 71 Nazarene Lane, Milton, where her memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Larry Keiser, visitation pastor of Crossroads Church of the Nazarene officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 3001 Gettysburg Rd., Camp Hill, PA 17011.

Richard A. Nachtway
Richard A. Nachtway, 80, of 979 High Street, West Milton, died Friday, April 3, 2009, at Kramm Healthcare Center, Milton.
Born May 9, 1928, in St. Marys, he was a son of the late Fred and Fidelis (Hoehn) Nachtway. Richard’s first wife, the former Marion Zitzler, died January 12, 1977. He marriage the former Hazel Heddings Bailey on April 28, 1979. This month they would have celebrated 30 years of marriage.
A U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War, Richard served in both the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard for a total of 23 years. He worked for ACF as a draftsman engineer for 15 years and then worked another 15 years in the construction field.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, Lewisburg, where he was an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist and taught CCD for 27 years. Richard served on the Parish Council, the building committee and the RCIA program. He was also involved in Leaders in Ministry and the Health Care Ministry and was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters and sons-in-law, Arris and Jeffrey Moser of Montandon, and Mary and Greg Adams of Lewisburg; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael and Donna Nachtway of Winfield, Fred Nachtway of Pottsgrove and Matthew and Wendy Nachtway of Middleburg; a stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Kendra Lee and Harold Danowsky, Jr. of New Columbia; a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Alphonse Kreig of Bonita Springs, FL; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, at the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, S. Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg, where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. by Richard Owens of the Knights of Columbus. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Sacred Heart Church, 814 St. Louis St., Lewisburg, with his pastor, the Rev. Msgr. William M. Richardson, officiating. Burial will follow in Lewisburg Cemetery.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the Knights of Columbus Charity Fund, P. O. Box 14, Milton, PA 17847.
