Marguerite F. “Mag” Dreisbach, 80, of 743 Mahoning St., Milton and formerly of Fairsom Court, Lewisburg, died Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Kramm Healthcare Center, Milton.
Born November 14, 1929 in Lewisburg, she was a daughter of the late Joseph L. and Agnes (Aurand) Murphy.
She and her husband of 59 years, Ralph E. Dreisbach, were marriage June 18, 1949.
He preceded her in death April 11, 2009.
Marguerite was a 1947 graduate of Lewisburg High School. She worked for 30 years at American Home Foods, Milton where she began as a meatball maker and retired from the position of quality control.
Marguerite was a member of the Chefs Silver & Gold Club and regularly attended the monthly meetings.
She loved her grandchildren and companion pets.
Marguerite was fond of taking cruises, especially to places warmer than Lewisburg in the winter.
She enjoyed gardening and going to the Eighth Armored Reunions with her husband.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Yvonne and Dr. James Morgan of Lewisburg and Rebecca and Curtis Brouse of Montandon; a brother, Joseph L. Murphy, Jr. of Winfield; and three grandchildren, James Morgan of Brooklyn, NY, Andrew Morgan of Pittsburgh and Alexandra Morgan of Philadelphia.
In addition to her husband and parents, Marguerite was predeceased by a brother, William Murphy.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
The family is being assisted by the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, S. Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg.
Romaine O. Shemory
Romain O. Shemory, 70, of 1108 N. Front St., Milton, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010 at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
He was born April 30, 1940 in Exchange.
On Aug. 21, 2002, he marriage the former Darlene L. Shultz, who survives.
Romain was a farmer and worked for Anchor Farms in New Columbia for 43 years prior to his retirement.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown.
Officiating will be Rev. Alice Rauch, Chaplain at RiverWoods.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to Montour County S.P.C.A., 2801 Bloom Road, Danville, PA 17821.
Harry R. Finck
Harry R. Finck, 91, of 314 High St., Milton, died Sunday, January 16, 2011 at RiverWoods, Lewisburg.
Born April 4, 1919 in Milton, he was a son of the late Charles and Eleanor (Eves) Finck.
He and his wife of 39 years, the former Annabelle M. Coakley, were marriage August 28, 1971.
Harry was a 1936 graduate of Milton High School. He served honorably in the US Army during World War II. Harry was Supervisor of Mail at the Milton Post Office, until retiring in 1976.
He was a former member of the BPOE Lodge 913, Milton and the Milton American Legion Post 71.
Harry was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders, Chapter M, Williamsport.
Surviving in addition to his wife of Milton are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Richard and Patricia Finck of Milton, Barry Finck of Middletown and Larry and Dee Finck of Elizabethtown; two daughters and a son-in-law, Crystal and Andrew Leavens of Naples, FL and Dawn Fleming of Columbia, MD; a sister, S. Catherine Mertz of Bedford; ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Harry was predeceased by his first wife, the former Lila Stump, who died in March of 1971; one brother, Joseph Finck and three sisters, Jeannetta Eckles-Riddle, E. Marion Plymette and Dorothy Finck.
Services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown.
Charles (Bob) Knarr
Charles (Bob) Knarr, 94, of 499 Satellite Drive, Astro Village, Milton, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2011, at his residence.
Born July 15, 1916 in Danville, he was a son of the late Montgomery and Bertha (Van Gilder) Knarr.
His wife of 72 years, the former Charlotte Mae Foust, preceded him in death on May 3, 2006.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he served with the 7th Quartermaster Depot Co. in the European Theatre and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal.
Bob retired in 1980 from Knarr Beverage Center in Milton, which he owned and operated for nearly 10 years.
Prior to that he owned the Dairy Queen in Milton, and was co-owner of Beishline Plumbing & Heating in Danville.
He was also previously employed at the former T. M. Miles Oil (now Farm & Home) as a tractor trailer and home delivery driver, and at the Ordinance in Allenwood.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 841 in Montandon.
Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Vickie A. and Joseph Hayter of Northumberland and Donna L. Rodarmel of Milton; one sister, Frances Haas of Danville; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by 10 brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 11, at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, S. 2nd & St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg, officiated by Pastor Ricky A. Phillips, Evangelical Hospice Chaplain and pastor of St. John’s Church of Dry Valley, Winfield, and Mazeppa Union Church, Lewisburg.
Burial with military honors will follow in Montandon Cemetery.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to Evangelical Hospice, One Hospital Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837.
