Richard L. Kerstetter, 82, of Mexico Road, Milton, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at his residence.
Born April 29, 1929 in Coal Township, Northumberland County, he was a son of the late Harvey E. and Theresa (Weslosky) Kerstetter. He marriage the former Jean Dideum Straub on January 5, 1996. Together they celebrated 15 years of marriage.
Richard was a 1947 graduate of Coal Township High School, where he played on the football and boxing teams, and was an all-state basketball player. He served in the 101st Airborne division of the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.
For a total of 30 years, he was employed by Ritzcraft of Paxinos and then Universal Supply of Selinsgrove as a General Manager.
Richard was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Shamokin and also attended Sunbury Bible Church.
His favorite pastimes included fly fishing, hunting and golfing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Richard C. Kerstetter of Shamokin; one daughter and son-in-law, Shellie and Warren Pinner of Runnemede, NJ; two stepdaughters, Judy Evans and Robin Straub, both of Quakertown; one stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, David and Ruth Straub of Williamsport; three grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Jane Kroh.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Officiating will be his nephew, Rev. Frank Hrabak, pastor of Trinity Community Church, Langhorne. Interment will be in Northumberland Memorial Park.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made to either Evangelical Hospice, One Hospital Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837 or American Cancer Society, Union County Unit, 57 Reitz Blvd., Suite 102, Lewisburg, PA 17837.
The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, Lewisburg.
George C. Peters
George C. Peters, 92, of Northumberland, died on September 22, 2012 at Nottingham Village of congestive heart failure.
He was a native of Madisonville, Louisiana, and a graduate of Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana.
George served in World War II as a Marine officer assigned to the battleship Nevada. He participated in the invasions of Normandy, southern France, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa. George retired from the Corps with the rank of Captain.
He had a successful business career with General Motors in Detroit and retired in 1984 as the Manager of Administrative Affairs, Public Relations Staff.
George is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Thomas Williams of Dallas, TX; one son and daughter-in-law, Dr. John and Carrie Peters of Lewisburg; one sister, Imelda Amadon of New Orleans; two grandsons, George and Michael Williams; and one granddaughter, Shannon Peters.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Dorothea.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 18, at the Sacred Heart Church, 814 St. Louis St., Lewisburg, with the Rev. Msgr. William M. Richardson, officiating. Burial will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to benefit Camp Victory may be made to The Nicholas Wolff Foundations, P.O. Box 810, Millville, PA 17846.

Marie Isabelle Wright
Marie Isabelle Wright, 96, formerly of Elm Street and Warrior Run Manor, Watsontown, passed away Friday, Sept. 2, 2011 at the Watsontown Health & Rehab Center.
Born Sept. 8, 1914 in Watsontown, she was a daughter of the late Homer C. and Elsie (Faux) Gauger. On Oct. 21, 1939 she marriage Boyd O. Wright, who preceded her in death on April 30, 1983 after 44 years of marriage.
A 1933 graduate of Watsontown High School, she worked for Mrs. Wagner as a young girl, and also for many years in the late 1940’s to the early 1960’s at Becker’s 5 & 10 cent store in Watsontown. She enjoyed cooking, baking and working crossword puzzles, and was also fond of going out to eat with her family and attending events at the Williamsport Community Arts Center. Marie dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and especially enjoyed traveling with them in later life.
Marie was a member of Watsontown United Methodist Church.
Surviving are one son, Charles A. “Pete” (Lois) Wright of Turbotville; one brother, Jack M. Gauger of Watsontown; one sister-in-law, Helen Gauger of Watsontown; three grandchildren, Robin C. (Bonita) Wright of Cameron, NC, Donna L. Dietterick and companion, Bran, of Atlanta, GA, and Richard D. (Tracie) Wright of Montgomery; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by two brothers, Emerson and Albert Gauger; and two sisters, Helen McClintock and Dorothy Moore.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown, where the funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Officiating will be her pastor, Rev. Douglas M. Eberly. Burial will follow in Watsontown Cemetery.
The family welcomes flowers; however, if desired memorial contributions may be made to Watsontown United Methodist Church, 1319 Eighth St. Drive, Watsontown, PA 17777.
Mary Kathryn Dunkelberger
Mary Kathryn Dunkelberger, 93, of 298 Carroll Road, Sunbury, entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 4, 2012 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born on September 25, 1918 in Northumberland, a daughter of the late Budd Doble and Florence I. (McCreary) Yeager. On June 14, 1997 she marriage Kenneth W. Dunkelberger, who survives.
Mary was a member of Mazeppa Union Church.
She attended Northumberland, Laurelton and Lewisburg School’s. She retired after 25 years as the Head Cook in the Lewisburg High School cafeteria.
Mary was a member of Women of the Moose, Lewisburg and the Lewisburg Chapter #394 Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, crossword puzzles and cooking.
Surviving in addition to her husband are one daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Bill Schmidlin of Wauseon, OH; one daughter-in-law, Joanne Stahl of Lewisburg; one brother, Willard “Bump” Yeager of N.C.; four step-children; six grandchildren, Laurie Kay Smith, Carla Rice, James Stahl, Donald Schmidlin, Jeffrey Stahl and Patti Creager; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her first husband, Albert L. Stahl; second husband, William A. Swartz; one son, James Y. Stahl; one sister, Doris Ross; and two brothers, Leroy and John Yeager.
Friends will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, at Mazeppa Union Church, 3200 Johnson Mill Road, Lewisburg, PA 17837, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. officiated by her pastor, Rev. Ricky A. Phillips. Burial will follow in Mazeppa Union Cemetery.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the Mazeppa Union Church, 3200 Johnson Mill Road, Lewisburg, PA 17837.
