Chadish
Lucille Peters Chadish, 85, an Imperial resident for the past 58 years, died on Friday, March 16 [2001], in Sycamore Creek Nursing Home.
She was born on Oct. 21, 1915 in Graton, W.Va., a daughter of the late T.S. and Mary Robey Phillips.
Preceding her in death were her sister, Mabel Phillips; two brothers, Joseph and Claude Peters; grandson Lenny Karolewics; and two sons in law, John Shadursky and Leonard Karolewics.
Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Stanley Chadisy; three daughters, Mary Shadursky of Moon Township, Shirley Karolewiczs of Moon, and Patricia George of Mabie, W.Va.; two sisters, Margaret Winland and Eunice Barnes, both of Coraopolis; and nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held in Copeland's Moon Township Funeral Home, where a blessing service was held with the Rev. John Ayoob. Entombment was in Sylvania Hills Mausoleum.
Collins
Ada G. Collins, 85 of Glenwillard died on Wednesday, March 28 [2001], in UPMC, Aliquippa.
She was born on Nov. 6, 1915 in Erbaxon, W.Va., a daughter of the late George Washington and Icy Florence (Westfall) Stanley.
Preceding her in death were her four sisters, Tressie Lanning, Edith Harris, Freda Parrish and Marie Clark; and a brother, Carroll (Kay) Stanley.
Surviving are three children, Edward Collins of South Heights, Edith Viskochil of Pittsburgh and Elizabeth (Libby) Smith of Independence Township; two sisters, Geneve Parrish of Ripley, W.Va. and Thelma Kernick of McDonald; and eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held in Copeland's Coraopolis Funeral Home, where services were held with the Rev. Clyde Davis.
Burial was held in John Anderson Memorial Cemetery in Raccoon Township.
Foster
John Kennedy Foster, 91, of Sewickley, died on Tuesday, March 20 [2001].
He was born on Sept. 7, 1909 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Bayard and Nargisse (Kennedy) Foster.
Preceding him in death were his spouses Ann Rose Foster and Lucy Williams Foster, and his brother, William Foster.
Mr. Foster began his career with Shenango, Inc. as treasurer and retired in 1979 as executive vice president. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Sewickley, the Harvard, Yale, Princeton Club, the Allegheny Country Club, the Rolling Rock Club and the Duquesne Club.
Surviving are his two children and their spouses: John Foster, Jr. of Meadville and his wife, Doris, and Donald Foster of Wareham, Mass., and his wife, Pamela; a sister, Elizabeth Schoyer of Pittsburgh; and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held in the Presbyterian Church in Sewickley. Family received friends in the Robinson Room.

Howell
George Howell, Jr., 74, of Coraopolis died on Saturday, March 24 [2001].
He was born on Feb. 13, 1927 in Coraopolis, a son of the late George and Mabel (Goode) Howell.
Mr. Howell worked as a mail carrier and retired in 1984 after 27 years of service. He was a WWII veteran, serving in the Marine Corps and a member of the American Legion Post #450 of Sewickley. He also was active in Fore Runner Ministries.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Edith Louise (Wells) Howell and his loving children and their spouses-Leslie and spouse, Marie Howell of Maryland; Lorraine and spouse Larry Grey of Moon Township; and Adora and spouse the Rev. William Henley of Pittsburgh.
Also surviving is a granddaughter, Cheri Howell of Maryland.
Visitation was held in Copeland's Coraopolis Funeral Home, 867 Fifth Ave., where services were held with the Rev. William Henley officiating.
Burial was in Sewickley Cemetery.
Masterson
Betty (Yacho) Masterson, 75, a life-long resident of McKees Rocks, died on Tuesday, March 20 [2001], at her home.
She was born on July 20, 1925 in McKees Rocks.
Mrs. Masterson was a waitress at the Sewickley Country Inn and a member of the St. Malachy Church.
Her husband, Charles Masterson, preceded her in death. Surviving are her children, Richard Wolata of Kennedy Township; Kathleen Wolata, North Versailles; Steve Kotik, McKees Rocks-Robinson Township; and Sandra Julius, Kennedy.
Also surviving are her two sisters, Martha Smith of Florida and Roberta Shields, New Jersey, along with nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held in Anthony J. Sanvito, Inc. Funeral Home, Stowe Township.
Osborn
Esther Osborne, 75, of Clinton died on Friday, March 23 [2001], in the Valley Care Masonic Center, in Aleppo Township.
He was born Oct. 31, 1925 in Robinson Township, a son of the late Edward and Jean Patton Whiteford.
A homemaker, Mrs. Osborne was a member of the Clinton United Presbyterian Church and formerly employed as a dispatcher for Findlay Township and with the Gladieux food services at the Pittsburgh International Airport
She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Sewickley Chapter.
Surviving is her husband of 56 years, James Osborne, whom she married on Nov. 30, 1944.
Also surviving are her son and daughter in law, James Jr. and Bobbie Osborne of Moon Township; a daughter and son in law, Janie and Dave Silbor of Hopewell Township; a granddaughter, Heather Silbor; and a sister, Grace Despot of Clinton.
Friends were received in the Moody Funeral Home, Route 30, Clinton, where services were held with the Rev. Larry Weed, interim pastor of the Clinton United Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Internment followed in the Clinton United Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
Phillips
Helen Yary Phillips, 82, a life-long resident of Kennedy Township, died on Saturday, March 24 [2001], in Ohio Valley General Hospital.
She was born on Oct. 16, 1918 in McKees Rocks.
Mrs. Phillips was a homemaker and member of St. Mary's Church.
Surviving are her husband, Alfred Phillips of Kentucky; and her children-Alfred Phillips, Jr. of Kentucky, Rose Fallon of Thornburg and Kathleen Wildman of Sewickley.
Also surviving are her brothers, Slokey Yary of Pittsburgh and William Yary of Virginia; and grandchildren-Elizabeth Fallon, Alfred Phillips, III, Heather and Angela Wildman.
Her brother, Mike Yary, preceded her in death.
Visitation was held in Anthony J. Sanvito, Inc. Funeral Home, Stowe Township, where a blessing service was held with the Rev. Larry Smith officiating.
Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Moon Township.
Reardon
Mayme L. Reardon, 94, a resident of Neville Island for 30 years, formerly of Coraopolis, died on Sunday, March 18 [2001], in her home.
She was born on March 26, 1906 in Elliott, Pa., a daughter of the late George and Mary Alive (Linhart) Hayes.
Mrs. Reardon was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Coraopolis. She retired in 1971 after serving as a secretary for Gulf Oil, Corp. in the Controllers Department for 26 years.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Michael Reardon; four children-Michael and Philip Reardon and Norma Murphy and Ann Sexton; and two brothers, George Hayes, Jr. and William Hayes.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Lou Vogt of East Brady, Pa., and Mary Alice Reardon of Neville Island; two daughters-in-law, Nancy (Gfell) Reardon of Amesbury, Mass. and Bea (Chamberlain) Reardon of Sugar Land, Texas.
Visitation was held in Copeland's Coraopolis Funeral Home, where services were held with the Rev. John Free of the Presbyterian Church of Coraopolis.
Sahli
Floyd Sahli, 81, of Valencia, Middlesex Township, died on Monday, March 26 [2001], in his residence.
He was born in Mars, Pa. on Sept. 14, 1919, a son of the late Elmer and Mabel Bahme Sahli.
He was a Navy veteran of WWII and was a member of the Richland American Legion and the Breakneck Beagle Club.
Mr. Sahli also had worked as a mill worker for Allegheny Heat Treating in Chicora.
Preceding him in death were his two brothers, Howard and Oscar Sahli.
Surviving are his wife, Lois Knox Sahli, whom he married on May 14, 1948, and four daughters-Mrs. William (Sandy) Hollingshad of Bradfordwoods, Pa.; Mrs. Bruce (Julie) McCurdy of Bakerstown, Pa.; Joan Black of Mars, Pa.; and Mrs. David (Linda) Van Dyke of Cranberry Township.
Also surviving are a brother, Samuel Sahli of Gibsonia; and four sisters, Mrs. Gabert (Mildred) Molnar of Butler; Mrs. William (Marie) Molnar of Valencia, Pa.; Mrs. James (Grace) Tyson of Gibsonia; and Mrs. Quay Jack (Jean) Quinn of Florida. Seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
Friends were received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. Mars, where services were held with the Rev. Darcy Hawk, pastor of the Gibsonia Presbyterian Church.
Internment followed in West Union Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Butler Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Stewart
Mary Vivienne Ford Stewart, 91, died on Sunday, March 18 [2001], in Sewickley Valley Hospital.
She was born on March 18, 1910 in Sewickley, a daughter of the late Mary Mitchell and William Ford.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Frazer Stewart.Mrs. Stewart was a homemaker and was a member of the Louisa Chapter #40 of the Eastern Star, serving at one time as treasurer. She also was a member of the ladies auxiliary in Sewickley.
Surviving are her brother, Gerald (Hunk) Ford of Aliquippa; and great nephews, Anthony and James Carpenter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Frazer Stewart.
Friends were received in the Richard Cole Funeral Home, 328 Beaver St., Sewickley, where a funeral service was held. Internment was in Sewickley Cemetery.
Memorials suggested to St. Matthew's AME Zion Church, Thorn and Walnut St., Sewickley. Louisa Chapter #40 also held a funeral service at the funeral home.
Combs
Matilda Combs, 70, of Clinton (Independence Township) died on Saturday, July 14 [2001], in Autumn Lane Personal Care Home, Aliquippa.
She was born in Ambridge on July 29, 1930 to the late Andrew and Helen Klopak Shabla.
A homemaker, Mrs. Combs attended the Hebron Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her husband, Earl Combs in 1996 and a son, Earl Daniel Combs.
Surviving are a son, Clinton Combs of Hookstown; a step son, Earl Marcus of Clinton; a daughter-in-law, Faye Kaufman of Alaska; and a grandson, Patrick Combs.
There was no visitation or services at Mrs. Combs' request. Cremation took place and internment followed in Hopewell-Hebron Cemetery. Moody Funeral Home, Clinton, made arrangements.
D'Amore
Roberto D'Amore, 67, a life-long resident of Coraopolis, died on Wednesday, July 11 [2001].
He was born in Italy on Nov. 25, 1933 to Luigi D'Amore of Michigan and the late Guiseppina D'Amore.
Mr. D'Amore was a chemical lab technician at LTV and also was employed in the Cornell School District.
He was a member of St. Joseph Church, Coraopolis; St. Anthony Congregation in West Aliquippa; Ambassador Lodge # 66 ISDA in Moon Township; and the IBA.
In addition to his father, surviving are his wife, Vincetta (Colangelo) D'Amore of Coraopolis; two sons and their wives, Louis and Brenda D'Amore of Imperial and Richard and Sandra D'Amore of Scott Township; and mother-in-law, Rose Colangelo of Coraopolis.
Also surviving are two sisters, Sister Fiorendina of the order of The Home Visitor of Mary, and Carolina Piccirilli, both of Michigan; three brothers, Tonino, Frank and Fernando D'Amore all of Michigan; and three grandchildren, Derek, Marissa and Matthew D'Amore.
Friends were received at Anthony J. Sanvito Funeral Home, 1316 Fourth Ave., Coraopolis, where services were held with the Rev. Malcolm McDonald officiating.
Mass of Christian Burial was held in St. Joseph Church. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hopewell.
DiMeolo
William E. DiMeolo, 86, of Coraopolis, died on Friday, July 6 [2001], in Wexford House.
He was born in Coraopolis on July 22, 1914, a son of the late Peter and Lena DiMeolo.
Mr. DiMeolo was a construction inspector for Allegheny County at Pittsburgh International Airport.
He was a member of St. James Church and of the VFW in Coraopolis and served in WWII.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Jean DiMeolo; his sister, Leona Caputo; and his brothers, James, Michael, Lubby, Tony and Frank DiMeolo.
Surviving are his sister, Mary McCutcheon of Ohio, and his brother, Fred DiMeolo of Coraopolis.
Friends were received in Anthony J. Sanvito Funeral Home in Coraopolis, where services were held with the Rev. Ray officiating.
Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Faulkner
Kenneth Louis (Hussel) Faulkner, 37, died on Wednesday, July 4 [2001].
He was born on August 3, 1963 in Sewickley to the late William and Mattie Faulkner.
Mr. Faulkner accepted Christ as his Savior on Feb. 14, 1999 and was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Zion Church.
He served in the United States Air Force, was an active member of the Narcotics Anonymous (NA) Tuesday Night Miracle group held at St. Paul's Church.
He previously held the position of Group Service Representative of the group.
He sponsored newly recovered addicts by providing encouragement as well as transportation from rehab centers to NA meetings.
Preceding him in death were his father, William Faulkner, mother, Mattie Faulkner, and brother, Oscar (Petey) Faulkner.
Surviving are his wife, Judy Dee Faulkner; two daughters - Malika and Morgan Faulkner; seven brothers - Harold (Sonny) Williams Jr. of Harrisburg, Pa., James W. Williams and Floyd (Butch) Faulkner of Coraopolis, Joseph T. Faulkner of Pittsburgh, George W. (Trot) Faulkner and Edward L. Faulkner of McKees Rocks, Michael P. Faulkner of Aliquippa; three sisters - Jean L. Faulkner of Aurura, Colo., Carol A. Beattle and Cynthia L. Faulkner of McKees Rocks; and nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and other family members and friends.
Friends were received at Copeland's Coraopolis Funeral Home, where services were held with the Rev. Donald Smith officiating.
Burial followed in Coraopolis Cemetery.
Garvey
Anita (Sassano) Garvey, 77, of Kennedy Township, died on Friday, July 13 [2001].
She was born in Stowe Township on March 1, 1924.
She was a member of St. Malachy Church.
Her husband, Lawrence (Sonny) Garvey, preceded her in death.
Surviving are her daughter, Marlane, and her husband, Kenneth Sobeck of Scott Township, and her granddaughter, Melanie Sobeck.
Friends were received in Anthony J. Sanvito Funeral Home in Stowe Township. Funeral services were held in St. Malachy Church. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Kohut
Walter Kohut, 80, a life-long resident of Neville Island, died on Wednesday, July 11 [2001], in his home.
He was born in New Kensington, Pa., on June 4, 1921 to the late Samuel and Pelegra Kohut.
Mr. Kohut was retired from Pittsburgh Screw and Bolt then was deputy sheriff for Allegheny County Sheriff's Department for 26 years, retiring from there in 1985.
He was a member of the Coraopolis Moose, where he had reached the Pilgrim Degree.
He also was a member of the Coraopolis VFW Post 402, AARP, Coraopolis Golden Agers, and served in the US Army during WW II.
He was a past Neville Island commissioner and a member of St. Joseph Church.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Winters Kohut; his son, Dr. W. Dennis Kohut and his wife, Teresa, of Greensboro, N.C.; his daughter Dorothy Kohut of Coraopolis; his daughter, Maureen Puskar of Neville, and his daughter, Michele Schaffer and her husband, Steve, of Wexford.
Also surviving are three grandsons, Matthew, Phillip and Stephen Kohut.

Krol
Rhonda Krol, 50, resident of Robinson Township and the surrounding area most of her life, died on Thursday, July 5 [2001], in her residence.
She was born in Windber, Pa., on Nov. 29, 1950, a daughter of the late John and Nona (Gearhart) Krol.
Mrs. Krol served in the US Army and received a National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Her son, Kenneth Ashbaugh preceded her in death.
Surviving are her former husband, Richard Ashbaugh of Coraopolis and her three sons - John Krol of Natrona Heights, Pa; Richard Ashbaugh, Jr. of Coraopolis; and Herbert Ashbaugh of Robinson.
Also surviving are her sister, Jan Tagliaferi of Moon and her brother, Keith Krol of Michigan.
Friends were received in Copeland's Coraopolis funeral home, where services were held with the Rev. Tom Barnicott officiating.
Burial followed in Coraopolis Cemetery.
Liberatore
Brada (Bolli) Cercone Liberatore, 87, a lifelong resident of Coraopolis, died on Saturday, July 7, 2001.
She was born in Italy on Aug. 5, 1913.
Mrs. Liberatore was a member of St. Joseph Church, Coraopolis; St. Joseph Council; and St. Anthony Congregation. She worked in Jackson Show Store in Coraopolis.
Preceding her in death were her husband, John Cercone, and brothers, Abram and William Bolli.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph Liberatore; daughter, JoAnn Thomas and her husband, Arnold, of Moon Township; son, John Cercone and his wife, Lilly, of Moon; and sisters, Gretchen D'Agostino and Linda Bush, both of Moon, and Ellen Weathers of North Carolina.
Also surviving are three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Friends were received in Anthony J. Sanvito Funeral Home in Coraopolis, where services were held.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held in St. Joseph Church. The Revs. Mauro Cautela and Malcolm McDonald co-celebrated. Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery, Moon Township.

Murphy
Donald Murphy, 66, of New Kensington, died on Sunday, July 15 [2001], in Highlands Nursing Center, Brackenridge.
He was born in Coraopolis on July 22, 1934, a son of the late Lawrence and Elizabeth McFeaters Murphy. He lived in Coraopolis until 1958.
A steelworker, he was a grinder for the Blawnox Steel Corp. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, serving as an Airman 2nd Class. He was a member of St. Andrew Episcopal Church, New Kensington, and enjoyed racecars.
Surviving are his brother, Lawrence Murphy, Jr., of West Leechburg, and two nieces, Colleen LoCicero and Sharon Szymanski. In addition to his parents, his wife, Shirley Quick Murphy preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held in St. Andrews Episcopal Church, New Kensington with the Rev. John Golden, Jr. officiating.
Novacki
Mary Novacki, 89, of Moon Township died Thursday, July 12 [2001], after an extended stay at St. Francis Nursing Center, Cranberry Township.
She was born in Schulkille County in Maryd, Pa., on Jan. 1, 1912, a daughter of the late Anthony and Catherine Novacki.
She was a member of St. Joseph Church, Coraopolis.
Preceding her in death were her brothers, John Novacki and the Rev. Michael Novacki, OP.
Surviving are her sister, Irene Briggman, of Philadelphia, Pa., and her brother, Stanley Novacki, Sr. of Moon Township.
Friends were received in Anthony J. Sanvito Funeral Home in Coraopolis. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in St. Patrick Church, Pottsville, Pa., with the Rev. Michael Briggman officiating.

Buzonas
Anna Marie (Galba) Buzonas, age 74, a Moon Township resident for the past 40 years, died on Thursday, Aug. 30 [2001], in HCR Manor Care, Bethel Park.
She was born in McKees Rocks on Jan. 20, 1927 to the late Charles and Anna (Studenz) Galba.
Mrs. Buzonas was a retired admissions clerk for Sewickley Valley Hospital and a retired clerk from Equitable Insurance. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church, Christian Mothers and the Homemakers of Moon Township.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Benjamin Buzonas in 1989 and her brothers, Charles and Ludwig Galba.
Surviving are six children: Deborah and her husband, Clement DeFrancesco of Moon; Benjamin and his wife, Barbara, Buzonas, Jr. of Houston, Texas; Jeffrey and his wife, Tracey, Buzonas of Houston, Texas; Laurie and her husband, Craig Lalama, of Findlay Township; Steven Buzonas of McDonald; and Michael and his wife, Maria, Buzonas of Atlanta, Ga.
Also surviving are 13 grandchildren-Kimberly, Heather, Benjamin, Mathew, Samantha, Joslyn, Cassandra, Candice, Chelsy, Brandon, Steven, Lauren and Nicolette.
Friends were received in Copeland's Moon Township Funeral Home, 981 Brodhead Road. Funeral Mass was held in St. Margaret Mary Church with the Rev. John Ayoob officiating.
Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials may be made in her name to the American Diabetes Association.
