Coey
Ethel May Coey, 76, of Penn Hills, formerly of Oakmont, died April 6, 2001, in Presbyterian SeniorCare.
Born Oct. 29, 1924, in'Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of John and Lois Haas Herbert. Mrs. Coey was a former member of Oakmont Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her husband, Clay Coey; sons, Jeffrey of Pittsburgh and Kenneth Coey of Canton, Ohio; daughter, Cathryn Glotfelty of McHenry, Pa.; brother, John Herbert; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Ferraco
Sadie A. "Sally" Ferraco, 67, of Penn Hills died April 6, 2001.
Born Nov. 18, 1933, in Verona, she was the daughter of Rosina Santucci Rinaldi of Verona and the late Antonio Rinaldi. Mrs. Ferraco was a secretary in Penn Hills.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of more than 45 years, Angelo Ferraco Jr.; sons, Robert of Penn Hills, Gary of Greentree and Greg Ferraco of Penn Hills; and nine grandchildren.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her son, Angelo Ferraco III; and her brother, Anthony "Sonny" Rinaldi.

Flisek
Carl A. Flisek, 76, of Oakmont died April 3, 2001, at UPMC St. Margaret Hospital.
Born April 16, 1924, in Harmarville, he was the son of Anton and Anna Komatz Flisek.
Mr. Flisek retired as a foreman with Edgewater Steel. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
A 1941 graduate of Oakmont High School, he was a member of St. Irenaeus Church, SNPJ Lodge of Oakmont and past president and member of American Slovenian Citizens Association of Harmar Township.
He was also a member of American Legion Post 600 of Oakmont, former member of Logans Ferry Button Box, past treasurer and member of Slovene Heritage Association and served formerly on Oakmont Athletic Association.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Jennie Bozich Flisek; sons, Carl of Cheswick, Robert of Plum and Kenneth Flisek of Bethel Park; daughters, Karen Lehr of Virginia and Mary Anne Aldrich of Maine; and six grandchildren.

Gaiser
Mabel M. Gaiser, 90, of Oakmont died April 6, 2001.
Born Aug. 2, 1910, in Butler, she was the daughter of Lee and Minnie Miller.
She moved to Oakmont in 1954, and was a long-time member of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Oakmont and the RCAC Senior Citizen center.
Mrs. Gaiser was an active member and officer of Dames of Malta in Butler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Gaiser.
Surviving are her children, Cora Lee Cranmer of Penn Hills, Donald Gaiser of Butler, Charles Gaiser of Verona and Louise Osselborn of Oakmont; brothers, Leland and Irvin Miller.
Also surviving are sisters, Lillian and Adeline Schwartzlander; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Francis Dale Gilmour, 71, of Penn Hills died April 3, 2001, at UPMC St. Margaret Hospital.
Born Feb. 22, 1930, in North Braddock, he was the son of Hugh and Anne Guttridge Gilmour. Mr. Gilmour was a retired mechanic with Shaull Equipment Co. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving are his brother, Hugh Gilmour; two nephews; and a niece.

Ayres
Harold W. Ayres, 87, of Feasterville, Pa., formerly of Verona, died April 1, 2001.
Born Oct. 17, 1913, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Irwin and Mary Abt Ayres.
Mr. Ayres was a retired employee of Union Carbide.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Gertrude Bannerman Ayres; his daughter, Nancy Bowman of Langhorne, Pa.; a granddaughter, Jennifer Bowman; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Ayres; and a sister, Anna Donatelli.

Costello
Howard S. Costello, 82, of Verona died March 30, 2001, in Harbor Side Health Center in Florida.
Born Dec. 7, 1918, in Verona, he was the son of Edward and Myrtle Ann Palmer Costello. Mr. Costello was a retired supervisor with the former Gulf Research in Harmar. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Verona Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Betty Livingston Costello; a son, Raymond Costello of Greensburg; a daughter Mary Ann Hadden of Pollock Pines, Calif.; sister, Marie Ogden of Penn Hills; and grandchildren, Rachel Costello, and Melissa and Alison Hadden.

Pruitt
Charles W. Pruitt Jr., 72, of Fox Chapel died March 29, 2001.
Born in Jacksonville, Fla., Mr. Pruitt brought a wide range of experience to the area when he moved to Pittsburgh in 1979, to become president and chief executive officer of Presbyterian SeniorCare, a position he kept until 1998 when he left to establish SeniorCare Solutions LLC, a consulting firm.
Under Mr. Pruitt's leadership Presbyterian SeniorCare went from the original two facilities to 60 new and managed facilities in 10 counties with even more in various stages of development.
He was recognized internationally as a leader and visionary in geriatric care. His list of awards and professional affiliations are numerous.
He was appointed by Governors Robert Casey and Tom Ridge to serve on boards including Pennsylvania Council on Aging, Pennsylva-nia Health Policy Board, Pennsylvania Intra-Govern-mental Council on Long Term Care.
He was deputy secretary of Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare and served to represent managed care at the long term care subcommittee.
Included in his awards are the 1997 Pennsylvania Association of Non-Profit Homes for the Aging Paul Haas Award for Distinguished Service, and the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging 1997 Award of Honor.
Surviving are his sister, Ruby Lohman; dear friend, Ruth Costin; and many niece and nephews.

Rouzer
Richard Rutledge Rouzer, 85, of Verona died March 25, 2001.
Born in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Harry and Isabelle Livenspire Rouzer. Mr. Rouzer was co-owner of The Timbers. He was a member of Mifflin Avenue Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Fisher Rouzer.
Surviving are his child, Babs Dias; special companion, Margaret Bachmann; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at Mifflin Avenue Methodist Church with the Rev. Jack Piper officiating. Arrangements were handled by Jobe Funeral Home.
Trumble
Elaine D. Trumble of New Kensington, formerly of Oakmont, died March 31, 2001.
Born March 28, 1940, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Joseph and Mary Kopka Rogozinski. Mrs. Trumble was an aide at Verland Foundation in Bairdford Township.
Surviving are her children, Michael Trumble of Jefferson and Shari Hiller of Gibsonia; sisters, Carol Lohr, Mary Ann Ramsey and Geri Glenn; and two granddaughters.

George W. Keene, 79, of Allison Park, formerly of Verona, died July 8, 2001, at UPMC'Montiefiore.
Born June 26, 1922, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of George and Ella (O'Brien) Keene. Mr. Keene was a retired business executive in the grocery business.
He was a member of St. Joseph Church.
Surviving are his children, Georgette Sprajcar of Verona, Denise Ferguson of Delaware and Timothy Keene of Allison Park; a brother, Thomas Keene; a sister, Marion Welch; dear friend, Lee Schumaker; and 12 grandchildren.

Marjorie A. McNamara of Pittsburgh died July 2, 2001.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years, James McNamara; her brothers, Leo and Edward Rusteakus; children, Thomas and James McNamara and Patricia Mena; and a granddaughter, Annie McNamara.

Mamie Frances Taylor, 81, of Iowa City, Iowa, formerly of Oakmont, died July 8, 2001, at Greenwood Manor Nursing Home in Iowa.
Born May 10, 1920, in New Kensington, she was the daughter of Leo and Delilah (Beasley) Grays.
Mrs. Taylor was a retired nurse with Citizen General Hospital.
She was a member of St. Paul's Baptist Church in Oakmont, TOPS and a former active volunteer in the community.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Taylor; a brother, Leo Grays Jr.; and a great-grandchild, Juwao Johnson.
Surviving are her children, Kevin of Iowa, Vincent of Chicago and William Taylor of Chicago; a sister, Ruby White; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Timothy A. McAfee, 91, died July 2, 2001, at St. Barnabas Nursing Center.
Born Sep. 30, 1909, in Braddock, he was the son of John and Margaret (O'Connor) McAfee.
Mr. McAfee was a retired machinist for Edwin L. Wiegand Manufacturing Co. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Joseph "Bill" Herbert, 83, of Verona died July 5, 2001, at St. Margaret Hospital.
Mr. Herbert was a retired print shop supervisor, and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church, Monroeville-Plum Creek Ma-sonic Lodge #799 and Oakmont Elks Lodge #1668 BPOE.

Mrs. Gregor was a former member of St. Victor Roman Catholic Church.

Weimerskirch
Charles D. Weimerskirch, 67, of Springdale died July 6, 2001, at UPMC St. Margaret.
Born June 19, 1934, in Verona, he was a steelworker at Union Special Steel in Verona.
Mr. Weimerskirch was a graduate of Penn Hills High School, and an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member and past commander of Oakmont American Legion, Verona Eagles and Harwick Polish Club in Springdale.
Surviving are his companion of 18 years, Margaret Nicolazzo; sons, Don of Atlanta, John and Joe Weimerskirch, both of Oakmont; daughters, Charlene Kumar and Lisa Ewing, both of Oakmont, and Sandy Ciconi of Verona; eight grandchildren; brothers, Leo and Raymond Weimerskirch; and sisters, Ann Weimerskirch and Catherine Baratta.

Clyde H. Conklin, 66, of Oakmont died July 27, 2001.
Mr. Conklin was a retired Post-Gazette carrier.

Samuel Suchevich, 81, of Penn Hills died July 26, 2001.
Born Sept. 29, 1919, in Pittsburgh he was the son of Samuel and Jennie (Sudar) Suchevich.
He was a retired sheet metal worker at Universal Atlas Cement Division of U.S. Steel.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Suchevich was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church of Verona, the American Slovenian Citizens Association in Harmar and SNPJ.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Helen (Langus) Suchevich; sons, Thomas, Robert and James Suchevich; six grandchildren; and sisters, Mary Suchevich and Catherine Maiolo.

Veronica Lapusnak, 94, of Frazier died July 27, 2001, at UPMC St. Margaret.
Surviving are her sons, Bernard of Indiana Township and Joseph Lapusnak of Memphis, Tenn.; daughters, Veronica Banyas of Frazier and Madeline Chinchilla of Lyons, Ill.; 16 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Mary (Koval) Kravits; her husband, Frank Lapusnak; sons, Albert and Francis Lapusnak; a grandson; and a brother and four sisters.

Herbert Heid, 73, of Verona died July 24, 2001, at UPMC St. Margaret.
Born July 1, 1928, he was the son of Ralph and Violet (Thorton) Heid.
Mr. Heid was retired from J&L Steel.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving is his brother, Ralph Heid of Plum Borough.

Soxman
Thomas Joseph Soxman, 57, of Penn Hills died July 24, 2001.
He was the son of Thomas Soxman and the late June Rose (Fisher) Soxman.
Mr. Soxman was the owner of Soxman Funeral Homes, Roth and Morasco chapels. He graduated with a degree in psychology from John Carroll University.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and went on to graduate from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1971.
His community membership included Kiwanis Club of Penn Hills, YMCA board member, Knights of Columbus #4242, Penn Hills Chamber of Commerce, Penn Hills Planning Commission, Universal Loyal Order of Moose and president of the board for Plum Senior Citizens Center. As a member of St. John the Baptist Church, he served as Eucharistic minister and on the pastoral council.
Surviving are his wife, Donna Soxman; his sons, Brian and Mark Soxman; siblings, Nikki and Phil Blough of Rhode Island; and 10 nieces and nephews.
