Olexa
Edward F. Olexa of Vanport went to be with his Lord on Saturday, March 15, 2003 in Zelienople. He was born in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Stephen and Stephanie (Tishkowski) Olexa. Mr. Olexa was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. He lived the majority of his life in Ambridge and had worked for 36 years as a shipper-clerk for the former National Electric Co., later known as H.K. Porter Co. in Ambridge. Following his retirement, Olexa worked for several years at Penn State Beaver Campus in Center Township. In addition to his parents, Olexa was preceded in death by a son, James, in 2000. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Katherine (White) Olexa; a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Nancy Olexa of Ambridge; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and David Hazlett of Vanport; and nine grandchildren, one great grandson and three brothers. A private family viewing and service was held in the Simpson Funeral Home, Monaca. Internment followed in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.

Ross
Cecelia J. Ross, 77, of Aliquippa died March 16, 2003 in Beaver. She was born in West Aliquippa, a daughter of Cologero and Anna Messina. Mrs. Ross was a homemaker and member of St. Titus Catholic Church in Aliquippa. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Ross. Surviving are three children, Patricia Surmacz, Frederick Ross and Kathleen Nega; two sisters, Anne Trombetta and Mary Tolfa; a brother, James Messina; and four grandchildren. Friends were received at the Wayne N. Tatalovich Funeral Home in Aliquippa. Services were held at St. Titus Church with the Rev. John Lynam. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Sosebee
Elizabeth M. (Williams) Sosebee, formerly of Hopewell Township, died in UPMC Passavant Hospital on Sunday March 16, 2003. She was born in Pembroke, Va., a daughter of the late LeRoy K. and Mattie (Kipps) Williams. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Aliquippa, the First United Methodist Women, a former volunteer of the Aliquippa Community Hospital Auxiliary and a retired sales person for in the Beaver Valley Mall. She was preceded in death by her husband, E. Fay Sosebee, in October 1993, three brothers, three sisters, six nephews and two nieces. She is survived by a nephew and his wife, B.J. and Clarone Williams of Half Moon Bay, Calif.; two nieces, Phyllis Graham and her husband Warner of Bluefield W.Va. and Donna R. Price of Livonia, MI, several great nieces and great nephews and very dear friends, Shirley and George Tadich. Friends were received in the Huntsman Aliquippa Funeral Home, where a funeral service was conducted by her pastor, the Rev. Howard F. Burrell. Entombment followed in Sylvania Hills Mausoleum, Rochester.

Thomas
Wilma J. Thomas, 82, of Clare Bridge Cottage, Austintown, Ohio, formerly of Monaca, passed away Wednesday, March 12. She was born on Aug. 22, 1920 in Monaca, a daughter of the late William and Anna Sephton Fogel. Mrs. Thomas lived in Monaca for 78 years. In addition to being a homemaker, she was a clerk at C.W. Dalzell's Market and Schmuck's Shoes, both in Monaca, and served as Dr. R. R. Hopkin's receptionist for 17 years before retiring in 1985. She was active in the First Presbyterian Church of Monaca for many years and was a current member of the Monacrest Free Methodist Church congregation. She served both in numerous capacities. Besides church work, she was a past PTA president, Grange member, past president of the Monaca Garden Club and an avid singer. Her husband, Frank Thomas, who she married June 24, 1942, died in 1972. She also was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Fogel, Ann Zimmerman and Frances Quick. Surviving are her daughter, Jane Thomas of Warren, Ohio; many treasured friends too numerous to mention; and cherished neighbors, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A private family viewing and service was held in Simpson Funeral Home, Monaca. Burial was in Sylvania Hills. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, 23 Lisbon Street, Canfield, Ohio, 44406; Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Youngstown, Ohio, 44512; or the American Cancer Society, Mahoning-Columbiana-Trumbull County Unit, 525 North Broad Street, Canfield, Ohio, 44406, may be made to honor her memory.

Fabi
Francis B. (Frank) Fabi, 59, of Los Angeles, Calif., formerly of Monaca, died March 22, 2003 at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. He was born in Monaca, a son of Dora A. (Scogna) Fabi of Brighton Township and the late Bernard Fabi. Mr. Fabi was vice president of the Co-Merica Bank of California and a veteran of the United States Navy during the Vietnam era. He was a former member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Monaca. He is survived by a brother, George A. Fabi of Beaver, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends were received at Batchelor Brothers Funeral Home of Monaca. Services were held at St. John the Baptist Church in Monaca with Father Frank Kurimsky officiating. Burial was in St. John's Parish Cemetery.

Galbraith
Elizabeth Poiarkoff Galbraith, 88, of Aliquippa died Sunday March 23, 2003 in her home. She was born April 22, 1914 in Aliquippa, a daughter of the late Michael and Mary Hresko Poiarkoff. She was a retired elementary school teacher with the Aliquippa School District with 53 years of service. She was a member of St. George Byzantine Catholic Church, Aliquippa where she was a religious education teacher for more than 35 years. She was a member and former treasure of the GCU West Aliquippa; She was a former Girl Scout Leader with Troup 107 in West Aliquippa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward O. Galbraith, in 1998; two2 brothers, John Poiarkoff and Michael Parker; and two sisters, Ann Poiarkoff and Dorothy Holesh. Surviving are two sisters, Virginia and Mary Poiarkoff, both of West Aliquippa, and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends were in the Huntsman Aliquippa Funeral Home, where Parastas (Blessing Service) was conducted. Panachida was conducted in the funeral home, followed by a service in St. George Byzantine Catholic Church, Aliquippa. Interment followed in Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery.

Kanyuk
Antonette Kanyuk, 83, of Aliquippa died Saturday, March 22, 2003 in Mariner Health West Hills, Moon Township. She was born Jan. 4, 1920 in Aliquippa, a daughter of the late Joseph and Angeline DiCarlo Damassa. She was a member of St. Titus Roman Catholic Church, Aliquippa and was preceded in death by her husband, John Kanyuk Jr., in 2002; and three brothers, Patsy, Bob and Frank Damassa. Surviving are a daughter and son in law, Kristine and George Avdellas of Hopewell Township; a son and daughter in law, Tom and Nancy Kanyuk of Morrestown, New Jersey; five grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Friends were in the Huntsman Aliquippa Funeral Home, where a prayer service was conducted, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Titus Roman Catholic Church. Private entombment followed in Beaver Cemetery Mausoleum. The family wishes to thank our friends at Mariner Health of West Hills for the wonderful, loving care they gave our mother.

Mlinarcik
Michael Mlinarcik, 84, of McKees Rocks, formerly of Center Township, died Saturday, March 22, in Vincentian Home in the North Hills. He was born Monaca, a son of the late John and Susan (Danko) Mlinarcik. Mr. Mlinarcik was a steelworker with Teledyne Vasco and a U.S. Army World War II veteran. He was a member of the Monaca American Legion and of St. Frances Cabrini Church in Center. In addition to his parents his wife, Irene Grosshans Mlinarcik, also preceded him in death. He is survived by his sister, Ann Mattauch. Friends were received in Batchelor Brothers Monaca Funeral Home, and services were held at St. Frances Cabrini Church, Center. Anderson
Eva Maria Anderson, 48, of Clearwater, Fla., formerly of Beaver, died in Florida on Wednesday, Sept. 24, after a brief illness, surrounded by her family. Born Oct. 11, 1955 in Beaver Falls, she was a daughter of Eve Anderson of Beaver and Kenneth Anderson of Gainesville, Ga. She was the founder and owner of EMA Accounting of Clearwater, Fla. and was a graduate of Beaver Area High School. Known as Evie, she will be sadly missed by her parents, her daughter, Heidi Anderson of Rochester; a very special, companion, Norman Beach of Clearwater; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Pam Anderson of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and Michael and Kimberly Anderson of Center; a sister and brother-in-law, Edie Jane and Chuck Clarke, Atlanta, Ga.; a grandson, O'Shea Anderson of Rochester; a maternal grandmother, Mary Otto of Munich, Germany; and four nieces, a nephew, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 11, at 4 p.m. in SS Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, Beaver, by Monsignor William Ogrodowski. Memorial contributions may be made if desired to the Beaver County Heart and Cancer Association, 3582 Brodhead Road, Suite 104, Monaca, Pa. 15061. Arrangements were handled by Noll Funeral Home in Beaver.

Book
Leon (Lee) Book, 73, of Avalon, died on Wednesday, Sept. 24, in his home. He was born in Pittsburgh, a son of the late James and Thelma (Dawes) Book. He was a postal clerk at the US Post office Pittsburgh main branch. Surviving are his sister and her husband, Shirley and Robert McGaffick of Ohioville; and two brothers, Ronald and his wife, Rose Marie, Book of Freedom and Robert Book of Beaver Falls. Nieces and nephews also survive. There was no viewing and no service. Burial was in Beaver Cemetery. Memorials gifts can be sent to any charity of choice. Batchelor Brothers Funeral Home in Rochester made arrangements.

Nemtz
Raymond Nemtz, 82, of Hopewell died on Wednesday, Sept. 24, in UPMC Passavant. He was a son of the late John and Nellie Nemtz and was retired from LTV Steel. In addition to his parents, his wife, Betty (Bernard) Nemtz preceded him in death. Friends were received at the Wayne Tatalovich Funeral Home in Aliquippa, where services were held with the Rev. Jim Bachner officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Cemetery.

Stratakis
Nicholas Stratakis, 70, of Moon Township, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, in Mariner Health Care, West Hills. He was the son of the late Astrinos and Mary Stratakis. Mr. Stratakis was president of NIRA Consulting Engineers, Inc., and a member of Aliquippa Greek Orthodox Church. Surviving are his wife, Angela (Cavoulas) Stratakis; his children, Marie Hartman and Joseph Stratakis; sister, Georgia Lucci; and four grandchildren. Friends were received at the Wayne Tatalovich Funeral Home in Aliquippa, and services were held at Aliquippa Greek Orthodox Church with the Rev. Nick Palis officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Vuckovich
Mildred 'Zecky' Vuckovich Langone, 80, of Midland, died Friday, Sept. 19, in Friendship Ridge following an extended illness. Born June 20, 1923 in Midland, she was a daughter of the late Milan and Helen Larvajana Vuckovich. She had been a resident of Midland all her life and had retired after 22 years at the Beaver Valley Geriatric Center. Mrs. Langone attended St. George Orthodox Church, Midland, and was a member of the American Yugoslav Club of Midland. Preceding her in death were her husband, Ernest Langone; and three brothers, Pete, Mike Jr. and Nick Vuckovich. Surviving are a stepson, Ernie Jr, and his wife, Kathy, Langone of Florida; a brother and sister-in-law, Bernard 'Brownie' and Lola Vuckovich of Industry; five sisters and a brother-in-law, Ann and Harold VanFossan of Calcutta, Ohio, Mary Stepanovich, Helen Cubra and Rose Vuckovich, all of Midland, and Dorothy Bulat of Fallston; and special friends, Shelma Potaro, Charleston, S.C., Marian Germusa, Midland, and Janet Loyash, Brighton Township. She also will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Friends were received in the Schwerha Funeral Home in Midland, where a blessing service was held with the Rev. Slavka Zorica officiating. Entombment followed at the Beaver Cemetery Mausoleum. A Pomen (blessing service) was held in the funeral home.

Bailey
Gregg M. Bailey, 33, of New Brighton, formerly of Beaver, died unexpectedly Sunday, Sept. 28, in his home. He was born Aug. 10, 1970 in Rochester, a son of George 'Jake' and Dorothy 'Dottie' Rogus Bailey of Beaver. He formerly worked at Renkenberger Auto Parts of Beaver and the Beaver Borough as summer help for three years. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of six years, Stacy Gagliordony Bailey; a brother and sister, Michael Bailey and Jodi Hummel, both of Beaver; his mother and father-in-law, David and Eleanor Dougherty of Chippewa; a sister-in-law and her husband, Tina and John Foster, Chippewa; a brother-in-law, Anthony Dougherty; a niece and nephew, Cody and Jade Hummel of Beaver; a nephew, David Nicholson of Chippewa; his wife's grandmothers, Josephine Ecimovic of Rochester and Faye Dougherty of Chippewa. DiBacco
Emilio Ettore DiBacco, 90, of Monaca died Sept. 9, 2003 at his home. He was born in Pratola Peligna, Italy, a son of the late Domenico and Carmella (DiSimoni) DiBacco. Mr. DiBacco was a steelworker for more than 30 years, working at Colonial Steel, and was a member of the Monaca SOI and St. John the Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Trieste Gaetana DiBacco; and a son, Dominic DiBacco. Surviving are three daughters and two sons in law spouses, Carmella and Antonio Battaglini of Monaca, Maria and Martin Trella of Monaca and Rita Erzen of Hopewell; a brother, Attilio DiBacco of Monaca; six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Friends were received at Batchelor Brothers Funeral Home in Monaca. Services were held at St. John the Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Kurimsky officiating. Burial was in Beaver Mausoleum. Fortunato
Jean Fortunato, 87, of Center Township, died Sunday, Sept. 28, in Aliquippa Community Hospital. She was born in Lowellville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Guy Mustalo and Pauline Rosetti. She was a homemaker and member of Christian Mothers at St. John the Baptist Church in Monaca and Catholic Daughters of America. Surviving are her husband, Serefina Fortunato; two sons and their wives, Anthony and Virginia Fortunato of Beaver and Robert and Loretta Fortunato of Hopewell; and two daughters, Julie Fortunato of Pittsburgh and Jeannie and her husband, Rob, Neel of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. One grandchild and one great-grandchild also survive. Friends were received in Batchelor Brothers Funeral Home in Monaca, and services were held in St. John the Baptist Church, Monaca, with the Rev. Frank Kurimsky officiating. Gibson
Raymond S. Gibson, 86, of Ohioville died unexpectedly Sunday, Sept. 28, in The Medical Center, Beaver. Born Aug. 26, 1917 in Jenkins, Ken., he was a son of the late Joseph and Eva Brummett Gibson. He had been a resident of Ohioville for the past 48 years. Mr. Gibson was retired as from Crucible Stainless & Alloy division of Colt Industries, Midland, where he worked as a millwright at the blast furnace. He was a WWII veteran of the US Army and received a Purple Heart. He is survived by his wife of nearly 58 years, Emma Honaker Gibson; a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Julie Gibson of Ohioville; a daughter and son-in-law, Rosaleen and Bill Chludzinski of Rogers, Ohio; a sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Daude Adkins of Midkiff, W.Va.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death was a daughter, Sharon Diane Gibson, and a sister, Opal Hammel. Friends were received in the Noll Funeral Home in Beaver, where services were held with the Rev. Richard Raines of Fairview Reformed Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Marienwald
Mary Michel Marienwald, 99, formerly of Jeanette, passed away Saturday evening, Aug. 9, 2003 in the Rochester Manor, where she had resided for the past couple of years. Born Dec. 15, 1903 in Jeanette, she was a daughter of the late Anton and Marie (Bischof) Michel. Mrs. Marienwald lived the majority of her life in the Jeanette area, relocating to Beaver County four years ago. Blessed with a 'green thumb,' she was awarded numerous blue ribbons for her prized blue hydrangeas. She could also play a good hand of pinochle and had previously worked as a painter - decorator for the former Jeanette Shade and Novelty Co. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred, in 1963; three brothers, Arthur, Carl and Joseph Michel; and two sisters, Elizabeth Smail and Anna Mowry. She leaves a sister, Geraldine Patterson of New Brighton , a brother, Kenneth Michel, of Monaca; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Friends were in the Simpson Funeral Home in Monaca. Perri
Joseph Richard Perri, 66, of Aliquippa died Saturday, Sept. 20, in Beaver Elder Care. He was born in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Dr. Ernest and Stella (Gallagher) Perri and was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Monaca. Surviving is his brother, Dr. Francis Perri of Mt. Lebanon. Services were held in St. John the Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Kurimsky officiating. Burial was in St. John's Parish Cemetery.

Regalla
Bernice M. 'Rosie' Regalla, 79, of Monaca went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003. Born Feb. 25, 1924 in Rochester, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Grace (Motz) Fleischer. Mrs. Regalla worked for 30 years as the assistant manager of the Eugene Dalzell's Market in Monaca Heights, and for the last 10 years of her working career she managed several different stores at the Beaver Valley Mall. She was an active member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Monaca, where she sang in the church choir for more than 40 years. She was a graduate of Monaca High School. She leaves her beloved husband of 59 years, Peter A. Regalla Sr., who she married on Feb 21, 1944; four children, Joyce M. Dick of Columbus, Ohio, Peter A. Regalla Jr. and his wife, Patty, of Monaca, Yvonne Regalla of Oklahoma City and Christine A. Regalla of Orlando, Fla; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Allen and Howard Fleischer. Friends were received in the Simpson Funeral Home in Monaca. A funeral service was held in the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, with her pastor, the Rev. Mark Groves, officiating. Entombment followed in Sylvania Hills Mausoleum. Sutton
Robert P. Sutton Sr., 73, of Center Township passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, in his home. Born Aug. 16, 1930 in Ambridge, he was a son of the late Paul F. and Hilda M. (Farland) Sutton. A lifelong resident of Center Township, Mr. Sutton was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving as a sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the North Branch United Presbyterian Church, Center Township, where he served as an elder. He was retired from the seamless tube mill of LTV Steel Corp's Aliquippa works and later worked as a delivery driver for the Aliquippa News. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy M. (Rambo) Sutton, on July 14, 1992; and by a sister, Lorraine Stewart, and a brother, George Sutton. He leaves two sons, Robert P. Sutton Jr. and Paul J. Sutton, both of Center Township; two sisters and two brothers, Vivian (Dolly) Sutton of Aliquippa, Melvin Sutton of Florida, James Sutton of Beaver and Amanda (Jean) Mustach of Midland; and several nieces and nephews. Friends were received in the Simpson Funeral in Monaca. Services were held in the North Branch Presbyterian Church with his pastor, the Rev. Marvin Barney, officiating. Interment followed in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.

Erdelyi
Mary Erdelyi, 92, of Monaca died on Saturday, Feb. 14 [2004]. She was born in Monaca, a daughter of the late Paul Chleba and Anna Yatzik. Mrs. Erdelyi was a candy maker for Rosalind Candy Company and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca. Surviving are her daughter, Mary McAllister, two sisters, Elizabeth Crudden and Lucille Zaluska and four grandchildren. Friends were received in Batchelor Brothers Monaca Funeral Home, and services were held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca. Burial was in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Gillin
June Gillin of Center Township was reunited with her late husband, Daniel, on Wednesday, Feb. 11 [2004], in the Aliquippa Community Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born in Monaca Heights, a daughter of Elizabeth Westwood Keefer of Monaca and the late John Keefer. A homemaker, Mrs. Gillin resided in Center Township her entire married life. She was a member of the Van Kirk Lutheran Church, Center, and enjoyed traveling to the mountains, collecting antiques and gardening. In addition to her father and her husband of 52 years, Daniel Gillin who passed away Sept. 7, 1997, she was preceded in death by a brother, George Keefer, and a sister, Betty Ann Fath. Surviving in addition to her mother are her son, Daniel L. 'Spike' Gillin of Big Beaver, a daughter, Melanie Gillin Summerville of Center, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a nephew and niece and several great nieces and nephews. Friends were received in the Simpson Funeral Home, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, where services were held with her pastor, the Rev. Cheryl Berner, officiating. Piquet
Clyde Piquet, 86, of Industry died on Monday, Feb. 16 [2004], in The Medical Center, Beaver, following a brief illness. He was born May 18, 1917 in Midland, a son of the late Charles and Rose Wenger Piquet. A 1934 graduate of Lincoln High School, Midland, Mr. Piquet was an active resident of Midland and Industry all his life. He retired as a patternmaker from Whemco and the former McIntosh-Hemphill of Midland after more than 60 years and was a member of the St. Blaise Parish family, Midland. Mr. Piquet formerly was an Industry Township School Board member, former Industry Township tax collector, the first secretary of the Ohioview, Industry and Glasgow Borough joint school district. He was a member of the school authority that built the Ray W. Snyder School; appointed to the Industry Plannning Board from 1958 to 1961; an officer in the Ohioview Community Club; elected to Industry Council in 1963; Industry's Mayor for four terms from 1973 to 1989; and the former president of Mill Creek Valley Historical Association. Mr. Piquet was a former chairman of District 6, Industry, Midland, Ohioview, and Glasgow for the Beaver County Historical Research and Landmarks Foundation. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Loretta Hauck Piquet, three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Glenda Kay Piquet, Chubbuck, Idaho, Thomas and Diane Piquet, Bay City, MI, and James and Sharon Piquet, Newton Falls, Ohio, and seven grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Mary Robertson Piquet, and a sister and brother-in-law, Rosemarie and Samuel Caffro. Friends were received in the Schwerha Funeral Home, 600 Beaver Ave., Midland. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Blaise Church with his pastor, the Rev. John Jordan officiating. A Vigil service also was held in the funeral home. Interment folllowed at Oak Grove Cemetery, Industry. McKinney
Frederic Roy McKinney, 59, of Industry died on Tuesday, Feb. 24 [2004], at his residence. He was born in Pittsburgh, a son of Lois and the late Arthur McKinney. Mr. McKinney worked in the utility department at Zinc Corporation of America. He was a member of the Monaca SOI and F&AM Ambridge Lodge. In addition to his mother, surviving are his wife, Shirley Scott McKinney; children, Wendi McKinney, Patricia and her husband, Larry, Higley, Mary Ellen and her husband, Kevin, Warrell, stepson Brian McKinney, Frederic McKinney and Richard and his wife, Stacey, McKinney; two brothers, James and his wife, Elsie, McKinney and Donald and his wife, Susan, McKinney; and 11 grandchildren. Friends were received at Batchelor Brothers Monaca Funeral Home where services were held with the Rev. Richard Raines officiating.

Miocic
Joseph Miocic, 42, of Vanport died Monday, Feb. 23 [2004], at The Medical Center, Beaver, following a brief illness. He was born April 16, 1961 in Rochester, a son of Thelma and the late Albert Miocic. In addition to his mother, surviving are two brothers and a sister-in-law, Greg and Dawna Miocic of Brighton Township, and Terry Potts; two nieces, Caitlin and Maria Miocic; an aunt, Dorothy Luchansky of Shippingport; two uncles, Jack 'Pete' Morrow of Shippingport and Robert Morrow of Georgetown. Friends were received in the Noll Funeral Home in Beaver, where a blessing service was conducted with Monsignor William Ogrodowski, pastor of SS Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, officiating. Interment followed at Beaver Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made, if desired, to the Angel Fund of the SS Peter & Paul Church, East End Ave., Beaver.

Thompson
Ronald W. Thompson, 62, of Brighton Township died Friday, Feb. 27 [2004], in his home following an extended illness. He was born on April 18, 1941 in Blairsville, Pa., a son of the late A. Glenn and Helen West Thompson. He had been a resident of Brighton Township for the past 30 years. Mr. Thompson retired in 1989 from Babcock & Wilcox, Beaver Falls, after 27 years and was a member of SS Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Beaver. He was a veteran of the US Navy. Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Rosemary Jodikinos Thompson; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Tina Thompson, Duncanville, Texas, and Ronald and Erica Thompson, Pittsburgh; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Bill Thompson, Beaver, and Art and Rose Thompson, New Brighton; and four grandchildren. Friends were received in the Noll Funeral Home in Beaver, where a blessing service was held with his pastor, Monsignor William M. Ogrodowski. The family of Mr. Thompson would like to thank those people who extended such loving care such as the Forbes Hospice of Pittsburgh and Ronald's friends and family.

Ciccone
Salvatore (Sam) Ciccone, 70, of Monaca, died Saturday, Feb. 28 [2004], at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh. Mr. Ciccone was born Oct. 8, 1933 in Monaca to the late Salvatore and Mary (Grosso) Ciccone. Following graduation from Monaca High School, class of 1952, he entered the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the St. Joe Lead Corp. in Potter Township in September of 1994. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Monaca and a lifelong member of the Monaca American Legion Post No. 580. Besides his parents, Mr. Ciccone was preceded in death by a son, Michael, two brothers, Leo and Carl, and a sister, Frances Rubino. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie; one son, Mark E. (Karen) Ciccone of Brighton Township; one sister, Margaret Gentile of Aliquippa; two granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends were received at Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. John the Baptist Church in Monaca. Interment with full military honors was held at the parish cemetery.

Kelly
Allan D. Kelly, 73, of Midland died Monday, March 1 [2004], at his home. Born June 11, 1930 in Rochester, he was the son of the late Edward and Eleanor Lowe Kelly. He had been a resident of the Midland area all of his life. Mr. Kelly was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War. In 1982 Mr. Kelly retired from Crucibles Stainless and Alloy Division of Colt Industries, Midland. Surviving are his wife, Linda Stuttler Kelly; a daughter, Anna Marie Kelly of Midland; two sons and daughter-in-law, Allan and Lori Kelly, Las Vegas, Nev., and John Swager III, Midland; a brother, John Kelly, Brighton Township; two sisters, Twila Holben, Bridgewater, and Eleanor Reynolds, Industry and five grandchildren. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were two brothers, George and Edward Kelly, and a sister, Mary Hartman. Friends were received in the Schwerha Funeral Home, in Midland. Services were private.

Nichol
Agnes A. Nichol, 87, a lifelong resident of Monaca, died Saturday, Feb. 21 [2004], in The Medical Center, Beaver. Mrs. Nichol was born June 15, 1916 to the late Stephen and Mary (Frank) Hurray. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the Beaver Valley Sportsman Club auxiliary and the 4th Ward Volunteer Fire Department auxiliary, all of Monaca. She was a past member of the Monaca Football Mothers. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David, three sisters, Mary Gaskins, Margaret Emerick and Betty Krovich, and three brothers, Robert Hurray, John Hurray and Stephen Hurray. Survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law, David A. (Louise) Nichol, Ronald A. (Joann) Nichol, and Robert O. (Michelle) Nichol, all of Monaca; and one daughter and son-in-law Margaret A. (Joseph) Kross of Patterson Township. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Friends were received at Simpson Funeral Home in Monaca. A Mass of Christian Burial followed at St. John the Baptist Church in Monaca. Interment followed at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park in Daugherty Township.
