Death date: December 10, 2001 Howard P. Fischer, age 81, of Ross Township on Monday, December 10, 2001 in St. Clair Hospital. Born in Pittsburgh on April 24, 1920, he is preceded in death by his loving parents, the late Joseph and Gizella (Wolf) Fischer; one sister, the late Laura Baum; and three brothers, Carl, Walter, and Robert Fischer. Mr. Fischer is survived by his loving wife Edna M. (Lampus) Fischer; one daughter Sheran L. Allsopp and her husband Thomas of South Park; two grandchildren, Shelly Bosanac and her husband, Frank, of Ross Township and Kimberly Allsopp of South Park; one great-grandchild, Frank Howard Bosanac; and two sisters, Ida Hauck and Elsie Brezina.
Cecelia "Dot" M. Swartz
Cecelia "Dot" Swartz of West View on Friday, December 7, 2001 in UPMC Passavant Hospital. Born in Pittsburgh on August, 23, 1919, she was loving daughter of the late Frank and Cecelia (Haffner) Reichel and the beloved wife of the late William E. Swartz. She is survived by her son, Ronald Swartz of Ross Twp.; a sister, Sarah Munsch of Florida and two grandchildren, William and Ronald Swartz Jr, both of Ross Township. Family will receive friends MONDAY 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Schellhaas Funeral Home Inc., 388 Center Avenue, West View. Private services will held at the convenience of the family on Tuesday. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer, North Side Catholic Cemetery, Ross Township. Dot retired last year with 30 years of service as a school guard for the Boro of West View. If desired memorials may be made in Dot's name to a charity of your choice.

Albert "Bert" Joseph Zoth, age 85, of Franklin Park Boro, recently residing at Fosnight Personal Care Home in Gibsonia, died on Friday, December 7, 2001. He was born on November 1, 1916 in Etna, PA. Beloved husband of Elizabeth H. (Myers) Zoth. Dear father of Deborah H. Newcomer and her husband J. David Newcomer of Valencia, and Michael H. Zoth and his wife Jennifer L. Reed of Erie. Borther of Vera Schermock of Amheist, Ohio and Marie Plumsky of Etna. Loving Grandfather of Amanda & Jonathan Newcomer of Valencia and Spencer & Rickie Zoth of Erie. A private memorial service and interment in Allegheny County Memorial Park were held by the family. If desired memorial donations may be made to Hosanna Industries 109 Rinard Lane Rochester, PA 15074. Albert was employed for 46 years at RobRoy Industries in Verona as Executive Vice President & Secretary Treasurer and also served on the Board of Directors. After retirement he continued to serve on the Board of Directors with a total of 52 years of service to RobRoy Industries. An Army Veteran of WWII with more than two years in the infantry in Europe. A member of the PA National Guard, St. John Neuman Catholic Church and Sewickley Heights Golf Club. His Hobbies included golf, woodworking and gardening. Dorothy C. Garrison Dorothy C. (Wolf) Garrison, age 93, of Mars formerly of Alton, Illinois died on Wedensday, December 5, 2001 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cranberry. Born in East St. Louis, Illinois on October 24, 1908 she was the daughter of the late Henry and Julia (Kelly) Wolf. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son Thomas Garrison and three sisters. Beloved wife for 67 years of Albert Garrison. Dear Mother of George H. Garrison of Huston, Texas and Judy Achkio of McCandless Twp. Loving sister of Marian Matthey of Rocky River, OH. Also survived by 3 grandchildren. Born in McDonald, PA on October 29, 1900, she was the daughter of the late John J. & Josephine (Cruden) Johmen. Wife of the late Peter Uffelmann and Bernard Cyphers. Loving Mother of Grace Mihalyi of Valencia, Mary Rutkowski of Daytona, FL and Harold Uffelmann of Ocean Side, California. Also 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren. In addition to her husbands and parents she was preceded in death by one sister Josephine Krenn. In 1950 he and his wife, Martha, built and established Bakerstown Golf Course, renamed Pittsburgh North Golf Club in 1969. Sox was a member of the PGA, PGO (Pennsylvania Golf Course Owners), and the Etna Elks. Born on February 7, 1927 in Fairview Twp., Butler County he was the son of the late Warren and Jennie (Rankin) Korn. Beloved husband for 29 years of Dee (Patten) Korn. Betty (Boch) Kemerer, age 85, of Gibsonia, on Sunday October 21, 2001; wife of the late Raymond "Lou" Kemerer; mother of Russell R., Rodney T., and Chris F.; also survived by grandchildren Craig, Jeffrey, Julie, Laura and Adam. Born in Paintertown, PA, she grew up in Irwin and was the valedictorian of the Norwin High School Class of 1934, and a graduate of Seton Hill College. A resident of Gibsonia since 1960, she was a founding member of the Friends of the Richland Public Library. As a teacher and avid lifelong reader, memorial contributions are suggested to the Northern Tier Regional Library, Richland Center, 4015 Dickey Road, Gibsonia, PA 15044. She was born in Pittsburgh on March 17, 1913, the daughter of the late Adam and Mary (Simonic) Kolarcik. Mrs. Maruscak is the beloved wife of the Late Michael A. Maruscak and was a homemaker most of her life. In addition, she was preceded in death by two sons, Michael and Rudy Maruscak. Elizabeth is survived by four children, Nancy Reukauf of West View, Fran Munson of Shaler Township, Christine Galovich of Franklin Park and Ralph Maruscak of Ross Township. Born in Aspinwall, PA on November 30, 1907, the loving son of the late Ewald C., Sr. and Mary (Bauer) Menn, and beloved husband of the late Alberta E. (Rothert) Menn. Mr. Menn is survived by one daughter, Erma Linda Lenz of Spring Hill; one sister, Wilma Wheeler of Indiana; and five grandchildren, Charles and Caryn Lenz, and Carol, Scott, and Chalene McGinty. Also survived by 4 Great Grandchildren. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Menn was the Manager of a Liquor Store.

Virginia T. Jost Virginia T. Jost, age 83 of North Side, on Thursday, January 31, 2002 at her residence. Born in Pittsburgh on October 30, 1918, she was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Fox) Hunkele. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jost was preceded in death by a son, Keith Jost. Mrs. Jost is survived by her husband, Edward of North Side; five children, Edward (Rick), Dennis, Cheryl Schweizer and Valarie Wirkowski, all of North Side and Kenneth of Troy Hill and a sister, Alice Bestic of North Side.
