Mr. Kostkas was the owner of North Hills Lawn and Landscaping Service.
Gordon P. Merzlak
Gordon P. Merzlak, 46 of Allison Park, died Friday, June 14, 2002 of Lung Cancer. Born May 8, 1956 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the loving son of Rudolph P. and Mary Ann Merzlak. He worked as a Truck Driver most of his life. In addition to his parents he is also survived by four brothers, Ronald J. Merzlak of Allison Park, Stanley P. Merzlak of Wexford, Wayne R. Merzlak of Allison Park, Jerry E. Merzlak of Cranberry Township and a sister, Donna L. Olson of Wexford . Friends will be received at the Schellhaas Funeral Home, Inc., 388 Center Avenue, West View, PA, a "Pursuit of Excellence Award Firm" www.schellhaasfh.com on Monday & Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Robert L. Neighley, age 81, of Middlesex Twp., Valencia, died on Tuesday, June 11, 2002. Born on April 11, 1921 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late James C. & Susan (Meyerhoefer) Neighley. Beloved husband for 52 years of Dolores (Ebel) Neighley. Dear father of Phyllis Neighley Riley of Cincinnati, Ohio and Jayne Neighley Cain of Richland Twp. Brother of James C. Neighley of West Kittanning. Grandfather of David & Cheri Cain and Leslie & Lindsey Riley. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Corrine Neighley and Marie Iseman. Friends received on Thursday, June 13, 2002 from 7:00 -9;00 p.m. and Friday, June 14, 2002 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Schellhaas Funeral Home Ltd. 5864 Heckert Road Bakerstown, a "Pursuit of Excellence" award firm. Darci Joy Linn, age 13, of Richland Twp., Gibsonia, died on Monday, June 10, 2002. She was born on February 7, 1989 in Pittsburgh, PA. Beloved daughter of Pamela (Pschirer) Linn of Richland Twp and Karl Linn of Mars. Dear sister of Tyler & Cory Linn both of Richland Twp. Granddaughter of Marion (Zoeller) Linn of Mars. Also many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She worked as a Housekeeper for the Health Care Industry. Surviving include a Niece, JoAnna Conlon and a Great Niece, Roberta Biehl Webster. Preceding her in death were her husband Ernest DeFrancesco and a Brother, Anthony DeMarco. She was born in Pittsburgh on November 28, 1905, the daughter of the late Raymond and Anna (Shettle) Weber. Beloved wife of the late Oliver T. Covert; mother of Karlene Beveridge and her husband, Wayne of Glenshaw; grandmother of Steve W. Beveridge and his wife, Mary of California; stepmother of Charles Covert and his wife, Susan and Dorothy OConnor and her husband, Kenneth and the late Albert Covert; stepmother-in-law of Christine, Billie, Covert. Also survived by 5 step grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Howard A. Brosi
Howard A. Brosi, age 88 of North Side, on Tuesday, February 5, 2002 in Valley Care Masonic Center, Sewickley, PA. He was born in Pittsburgh on March 28, 1913, the son of the late Johann Gottlob and Bertha (Krapf) Brosi. Mr. Brosi is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Esther M. (Ketterer) Brosi, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Prior to his retirement, Howard was employed in the Food Industry as a Meat Cutter and was a member of the Perry Ionic Lodge #796 F.&A.M.;, the Islam Grotto and the Syria Temple. He was also a 32degree Mason of Scottish Rite. Family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Schellhaas Funeral Home, Inc., 388 Center Avenue in West View where services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Ralph Link will officiate the service at the funeral home. H. Elizabeth "Bette" (Nied) Lauterbach, age 86 of McCandless Township, on Wednesday, November 14, 2001 in U.P.M.C. Passavant Hospital. Born March 4, 1915 in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward C. and Helen (Falkenstein) Nied. In addition to her parents, Bette is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter A. Lauterbach and son, William "Billy" Lauterbach. Survivors include two daughters, Penney Miller of McCandless Township and Sandra Beckwith of Idaho; one sister, Annalou Poole of McCandless Township; Grandchildren, Monica Monismith, Ben and Emily Miller, Max Beckwith and Danielle Beckwith Lehman; Great Grandchildren, Rebecca and Micah Monismith and Brooke Beckwith.
