Death date: November 21, 2003 Dorothy M. (Garrigan) Barkin, age 81 of West View on Friday, November 21, 2003. She was born in Pittsburgh on January 29, 1922, daughter of the late Cornelius and Stella (Windstein) Garrigan. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barkin was preceded in death by her husband, George J. Barkin, Sr. Dorothy was a member of the Toastmistress and the Lay Carmelites. Mrs. Barkin is survived by two children, George (Virginia) J. Barkin, Jr. of Renfrew and Bernadette M. Sens of West View; 6 grandchildren, Michael (Paula) Barkin of Sewickley, Melanie (Peter) Comstock of Ohio, Nichole Farr of West View and Brian, Richard and Sara Sens, all of West View. Also survived by 3 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Sunday 1-9 pm at the Schellhaas Funeral Home Inc., 388 Center Avenue, West View. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Sebastian Church on Monday at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in North Side Catholic Cemetery, Ross Twp. William H. Douds, age 58, of West Chester, PA formerly of Ingomar, PA on Wednesday, November 12, 2003. Mr. Douds was born on December 19, 1944 in Pittsburgh, PA. Dear son of Martha Lincoln Douds of The Village of St. Barnabas and the late Raymond A. Douds. Brother of Janet, and her husband Samuel Holloway of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Uncle of Deborah Holloway of Silver Spring, MD. Also survived by great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Sunday, November 23, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. in the Westminter Presbyterian Church in West Chester, PA. Rev. Ann Dickey will officiate. He received his BS degree in Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and an associate degree in computer science from the Delaware County Community College. William R. McQuaide
William R. McQuaide, age 67, of West View, on Saturday, November 8, 2003 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born on November 21, 1935 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph H. and Ruth C. (Walters) McQuaide. Also preceded in death by two brothers, Howard J. and Ralph C. McQuaide. William worked as the Controller at Miller Electric Construction Inc. in Allison Park, and was a member of St. Athanasius Usher's Club, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, and the Knights of Columbus. Loving husband for 46 years of Ruth A. (Schwer) McQuaide. Mother of Colleen (Dave) Brenneman of Hampton Twp., William (Carolyn) McQuaide of Hampton Twp., Gregory J. McQuaide of West View, Maureen (Bill) Miller of Hampton Twp., and Eileen (Paul) Curry of Hampton Twp. Brother of James (Jeanne) McQuaide of Michigan. Brother-in-Law of Leona McQuaide of Mt. Oliver. Also survived by eighteen grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday 7-9 p.m. & Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Schellhaas Funeral Home, Inc., 388 Center Ave., West View. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Athanasius Church on Wednesday, November 12, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery, Glenshaw. Rae Heintz
Rae Heintz on Saturday November 1, 2003, passed in peace to Gods glorious heaven. She was born October 11, 1934 to the late Albert Barko and Margaret Boone. Rae was a graduate of Edgewood High School and Allegheny General School of Nursing. She was a longtime resident of Ross Twp. She leaves her loving and devoted husband of 47 years Ray Heintz; their 3 beloved daughters Jill Guthrie and her husband Darryl of McCandless Twp., Jodie Hunter and husband Ed of Hookstown PA, and Jan Lythgoe and husband Jack of Montclair VA; her six adoring grandchildren Matt, Rebecca, Tj, Taylor, Brooke and Blaire; brothers Larry Barko and Bruce Boone both of Virginia Beach VA; sister Wendy Kunkle of Daisytown PA. Rae leaves behind many friends and relatives that will always remember her radiant personality, her love for laughter and devotion to family, friends and faith. Friends will be received at the Schellhaas Funeral Home, Inc. 388 Center Avenue, West View on Monday and Tuesday 2-4 7-9. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Athanasius Church on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Robert A. Norton celebrating. Interment will follow in North Side Catholic Cemetery. Carl W. Moeller
Carl W. Moeller, age 81, of Butler Twp., formerly of West Deer Twp. on Monday, October 20, 2003. Born July 14, 1922 in Fishers Perry, PA, he was the son of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Volmer) Moeller. Carl was a Layout Artist & Advertising Salesman for the Butler Eagle for 28 years, retiring in 1982 and an U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. Preceding him in death were his sister Anna Mooney and brother Albert Moeller. Loving husband of Frances M. (Eyman) Moeller. Beloved father of Deborah Voegler of Bethel Park, Eden Moeller of West Mifflin, and Carl W. Moeller II of Butler. Brother of Michael Moeller of Wilkinsburg. Also survived by two grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Schellhaas Funeral Home, Ltd., 5864 Heckert Rd. Bakerstown, Richland Twp. Rev. Vernon C. Borchert, celebrant. Beloved husband of Marlene (Straka) Rowda, son of Betty Rowda and the late Robert Rowda of North Versailles, brother of SallyAnn Caliguiri of North Versailles, and the late Daniel Rowda. Evelyn R. (Schmitt) Ebeck on Thursday October 16, 2003 age 80 of West View. Was born in Pittsburgh on July 18, 1923, the daughter of the late Elmer and Hilda (Hosenfeld) Schmitt. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ebeck was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer P. and a brother, Donald Schmitt. Mrs. Ebeck is survived by 6 children, Elmer of Cranberry Twp., Edmund of Ross Twp., Eugene of Ross Twp.and Eric Ebeck of California, and Elaine Richard of New Bethlehem PA and Evelyn Morgan Cheswick PA; a brother, Elmer Schmitt of McCandless and a sister, Marion Fabian of South Carolina. Also, 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends on Saturday and Sunday, 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Schellhaas Funeral Home, Inc., 388 Center Avenue in West View. Sally K. Lewicke, age 86, of Shaler Township formerly of Bellevue, on Tuesday, October 1, 2003. Born in Pittsburgh on November 5, 1916, the daughter of the late Edward C. and Mathilda M. (Kern) Rahn. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lewicke was preceded in death by her loving husband, William A. Lewicke and her brother, Edward Rahn. Mother of William J. (LuAnn) Lewicke of McKees Rocks and Robert M. Lewicke of Lawrenceville. Mrs. Lewicke was employed as an Elevator Operator in the Buhl Building until her retirement and was a member of Etna B.P.O.E. Lodge #932 and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #46. Friends received on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 at the Schellhaas Funeral Home, 388 Center Avenue, West View, where service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Robert Strobel officiating. Kathleen C. (Wynne) Hufnagel, age 88, of the Village of St. Barnabas in Richland Twp., Gibsonia, formerly of Penn Hills, died on Sunday, February 24, 2002. Born in Sunderland, England on November 21, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Peter & Katherine (O'Halloran) Wynne. Beloved wife for 61 years of Andrew Hufnagel. Dear mother of James A. Hufnagel of Des Moines, Iowa and Katherine Hawkes of Casco, Maine. Sister of Margaret Wyne of Pittsburgh. Also 3 grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 1 brother and 2 sisters. Friends received Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 at SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME LTD 5864 Heckert Road Bakerstown. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday 10:30 a.m. in St. Richard Catholic Church. Fr. Ken Oldenski will officiate. Interment private in Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Hufnagel was a member of St. Richard Catholic Church and a former member of St. Bartholomew in Penn Hills. Mrs. Hufangel will be remembered for her active enthusiasm in begining the Knitting Club at St. Barnabas Retirement Village in Richland Twp., Gibsonia. Elizabeth E. Loebig
Elizabeth E. Loebig, 76, of Ross Twp., died Monday, April 8, 2002 in Sewickley. Born May 28, 1925 in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Catherine (Outley)O'Donnell. In March of 1967 she was employed at the Eastern Star Home on Bellevue Road in Ross Township where she advanced herself to being the Administrator of the Home for the last 20 years before her retirement in 1994. She was the former President of the Perrymont North A.A.R.P. #2991 and was a member of Norwood-Harrington Chapter O.E.S. #356, St. Athanasius Christian Mothers and the Catholic Daughters of America. Surviving are two daughters, Joan (Frank) Zotter and Janice (Denny) McGrath both of McCandless Township; a son, Joseph (Darlene) Loebig of Ross Township; a daughter in law, Sharon Loebig of Ross Township; a sister, Patricia (Bill) Fedorka of Stowe Township; and a brother, Edward (Marilyn) O'Donnell of New Jersey. Also survived by 8 Grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband Joseph F. Loebig Sr., a son, Marty Loebig and a brother, Francis O'Donnell. In addition to her parents she was prededed in death by her beloved husband Wallace G. Weibel, Sr. and 6 brothers and sisters She worked as a Homemaker. Weibel, Jr. of Butler, Daughter, Wilma A.Busa of Butler, 3 Brothers & 4 Sisters all of North Carolina, 9 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren.
