Death date: October 30, 2002 Amelia M. (Kreutzer) Kalmeyer, age 82 of Cranberry Township, formerly of West View, on Wednesday, October 30, 2002 at UPMC Passavant Hospital. She was born in Pittsburgh on May 5, 1920, the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Fleishner) Kreutzer. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kalmeyer was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Kalmeyer, a daughter, Katheryn J. Miller, 7 sisters and a brother. Mrs. Kalmeyer is survived by two children, Shirley Fedorchak of Cranberry Township and William J. Kalmeyer of Reserve Township. Also survived by 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Amelia was a homemaker most of her life. Family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Schellhaas Funeral Home, Inc., 388 Center Avenue in West View, a "Pursuit of Excellence" Award Firm. Christine H. Monroe
Christine H. Monroe, age 85 of Ross Township on Wednesday, October 2, 2002 in Surburban General Hospital in Bellevue, PA. She was born in Pittsburgh on August 17, 1917, the daughter of the late George W. and Clara (Brethauer) Hopf. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Monroe was preceded in death by her husband, Albert D. Monroe, four brothers, Albert T., Edward A., Frank, and G. Walter Hopf and a sister, Virginia Frederic. Mrs. Monroe is survived by a brother, Fred W. Hopf of Ross Township. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Prior to her retirement, Christine was employed by Allegheny General Hospital in Central Services. Service and Interment will be private. Arrangements entrusted unto the care of Schellhaas Funeral Home, Inc., a "Pursuit of Excellence" Award Firm.
Frank C. Marrison
Frank C. Marrison on Friday October 4, 2002 peacefully in the presence of his family at U.P.M.C. Passavant Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. of Myrtle Beach S.C. age 78. Born September 6, 1924 in Pittsburgh, former resident of Ross Twp. PA, he was the son of the late Reginald C. Marrison and the late May Walpole. Formerly an executive financial officer of Child's Corporation, Iron Age and Ward White. 57 year member of Avalon Lodge #657 F.& A.M. a 32degree Mason, Syria Temple and American Institute of C.P.A.'s. Preceding him in death were his son Keith B. Marrison and a brother Paul Marrison. Surviving is his beloved wife of 57 years Pearl Reichle Marrison. Loving father of Chad F. and his wife Lynn Marrison of Brewster, N.Y. and Dale F. Marrison of Ross Twp., PA. Two granddaughters Heather M. Marrison and Sarah Tucker Marrison and one brother, William R. and his wife Alva Marrison of Mira Loma CA. and a sister in law Alice Marrison of Mt. Oliver, PA. The family will receive friends Monday, October 7, 2002, 2-4 & 7-9 at the Schellhaas Funeral Home, Inc., 388 Center Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA, a 'Pursuit of Excellence' Award Winning Firm. Raymond "RJ" Messmer, age 81, of Richland Twp., Gibsonia, died on Monday, October 7, 2002. He was born June 9, 1921 in Pittsburgh, PA, . Raymond worked as a General Superintendent for Penn Allegh Coal Co. Beloved husband of Lois (Bacurin) Messmer. Father of Roger Messmer, Jan Lees, Jon Bacurin, and Jae (Dennis) Fleissner. Brother of Margaret Soller. Special Grandfather of Jakeb Fleissner. Also 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Charles, Lewis, Wilbert and Ralph. Harry W. Finney, of Richland Twp., Gibsonia, died on Monday, October 28, 2002. Born on June 21, 1918 in Blythedale, PA, he was the son of the late David P. & Florence Mabel (Worrall) Finney. Harry worked as a Division Super for US Steel. He was a member of Alliquippa Lodge # 375 F. & A. M., Syria Temple, Pittsburgh Consistory, Shriners and American Legion Post # 117. Beloved husband for 60 years of Lydia D. (DeQuenne) Finney. Brother of Clyde Ray Finney of White Oak and Glenn R. Finney of Fairless Hills, PA. Also survived by many nieces and nephews Mr. Finney was preceded in death by his son Harry D. Finney on April 23, 2002. Services are private. Interment in Jefferson Memorial Park. Jean Marie Louis, age 49, of Valencia, on Sunday October 27, 2002. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on November 1, 1952 the daughter of the late Robert L. and Marie (Hoffman) Reutzel Sr. She was a homemaker most of her life and a member of the Glade Run United Presbyterian Church. Beloved wife of 32 years of James D. Louis; dear mother of James D. Louis Jr., Shawn D. Louis and Ashly Louis, all of Valencia; brother of Robert L. Reutzel Jr. of Valencia; also survived by two granchildren, T.J. Linhart and Danie Louis both of Valencia. (Grada) Britton; two sons, John and Scott Britton; two daughters, Lisa Leist and Donna Furman; one brother, Kevin and a sister, Karen Lennox, all of the North Side. Also survived by 10 grandchildren. Leonard H. Berg, Sr., age 84 of Ross Township, on Monday, October 14, 2002 at Manor Care North. He was born in Duluth, MN on July 2, 1918, the son of the late Olai Leonard and Constance (Olson) Berg. In addition to his parents, Mr. Berg is preceded in death by his wife, Rose (Nudi) Berg. Mr. Berg is survived by three children, Betty Polanosky of Ross Township, Barbara Chicarella of Kennedy Township and Leonard H. Berg, Jr. of Canonsburg and a brother, Roy A. Berg of Duluth, MN. Also survived by 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Prior to his retirement, Leonard was a carpenter in the construction industry.
