George 'Lou' Adame
George 'Lou' Adame, age 73, of Fombell, died Friday, April 30, 2004 at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Born December 28, 1930 in Laredo, TX, he was the son of the late Guadalupe & Aurora (Veytia) Adame.
Mr. Adame was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church, Zelienople where he sang in the choir. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran who served during the Korean War & he was also a member of the Zelienople American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Minnie Adame whom he married Aug. 18,1950; 7 children, Anthony J. Adame of Jefferson, OH, W. Bob Adame of San Diego, CA, Ronnie E. Adame of Port Orchard, WA, Cathy L. Farrell of Anacortes, WA, Cynthia A. Chrobak of Fombell, Christina M. Wiederkehr of San Diego, CA, John A. Adame of Medina, OH; brother Joe W. Adame of Cleveland, OH, Sylvia Adame of Corpus Christi,TX, Yolanda Rodrieguez of Laredo, TX, & Delores Fitzgerald of New York, NY. Also survived by 7 grandchildren.

Wilma E. 'Billie' Bankert, age 75, of Zelienople , died Thursday, September 30, 2004 at UPMC Passavant Hospital, McCandless Twp., PA.
Born March 16, 1929 in Sewickley Twp.Westmoreland County, she was the daughter of the late George & Margaret (McGrew) Funk. Mrs. Bankert was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Zelienople. She enjoyed Hockey and was an avid Pittsburgh Penguin fan.

Martha H. 'Marty' Bowers, age 80, of Zelienople PA, died Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at Good Sarmaritan Hospice, Wexford, PA.
Born December 22, 1923 in New Kensington, PA, she was the daughter of the late John F & Martha (Broad) Hasson. Mrs. Bowers was a member of English Lutheran Church and former member of the Traveler´s Club.
She is survived by 2 daughters,Stacy S. Dambaugh of Wilmington, DE & Tanis A. Fox of Ellwood City, PA; also a sister,Eva Fitzgerald of Pompano Beach, FL & 5 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence 'Augie' Bowers who died in 1992 and a brother, Jack Hasson.

Mary Louise (Boutwell) Campbell, age 84, of Houston TX, formerly of Zelienople, died Thursday, June 17, 2004 at St. Lukes Episcopal Medical Center, Houston, TX after a brief illness.
Born December 1, 1919 in Crawford County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Laurie J. & Bertha (Smith) Boutwell. Mrs. Campbell, a 1941 graduate of Slippery Rock College, retired in 1983 from Seneca Valley School District where she taught Ninth Grade English. During her twenty-eight years of teaching, she taught Elementary in Prospect,PA; English-Social Studies in Bloomfield High School, Crawford County,PA; Junior High Social Studies at Mars,PA; English at Zelienople High School; Elementary at Kittanning, PA and English at Seneca Valley Junior High School. While a resident of Zelienople, Mrs. Campbell was a member of Cavin Presbyterian Church, the Traveler´s Club, and also held membership in Sigma Tau Delta and Pi Gamma Mu honorary fraternities and Pennsylvania and National Educational Associations.
She is survived by her husband,Andrew W. (Andy) Campbell whom she married June 20, 1945; a daughter,Colleen Campbell Root, son-in-law, John W. Root and a grandson, Andy Root, all of Houston,TX; two brothers, Morris M. Boutwell of Corry, PA & Harold D. Boutwell of Erie, PA. she is also survived by three nieces and two nephews.

Thomas Caruso, age 88, of Cranberry Twp. PA, died Thursday, September 2, 2004 at UPMC Passavant Hospital, McCandless Twp., PA.
Born November 9, 1915 in Squirrel Hill, he was the son of the late Antonio & Giovana (Cuda) Caruso. Mr. Caruso was a member of St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, Cranberry Twp. where he was an usher for many years. He was a US Navy WWII veteran and member of the Mars VFW Post #7505 and Cranberry Elks Lodge #2249.
He is survived by his wife, Florence Caruso whom he married Sept. 27,1947;

Ellen E. Chaffee
Ellen E. Chaffee age 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 28, 2004.
Ellen is survived by three cousins who loved her dearly as well as many friends.
She was a former professor of nursing at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing; an author of an anatomy medical book and a nurse in the U.S. Army. Ellen had an exceptional sense of humor. She established nursing scholarships during her lifetime at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, The Pittsburgh Foundation and Miami University of Ohio to enable her love of nursing to continue.

Elsie Ida Cole, age 84, of Cranberry Twp. and Dallas TX, died Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at her home in Dallas.
Born September 19, 1919 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Thomas A. & Elsie Lenhart Hewitt. Mrs. Cole was a member of the North Hills Christian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Gilbert E. Cole whom she married Aug. 1,1941; 4 daughters; Marlene Knopp of Indianapolis, IN, Beverly Cole and Corinne Cole, both of Dallas, TX and Kimberly Bates of British Columbia, Canada; 3 grandchildren: Jadon Bates, Cheryl Bates & Ami Zamora.
She was preceded in death by a brother.

Patrick L.'Corky' Connelly,Jr., age 76, of Cranberry Twp.,died Thursday, October 7, 2004 at his home.
Born August 17, 1928 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Patrick L. & Anna Lee Connelly,Sr.. Mr. Connelly was a 1946 graduate of Midland High School, where he lettered in all sports. He also played quarterback at Ohio University and Youngstown State. He was a US Marine Corps veteran and retired from Salem Furnace Co., Carnegie, where he was a cost analyst. Following retirement he worked as a ticket taker for both the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. A founder of the Seneca Valley Midget Football League he coached the Cranberry Eagles for many years and also managed the Cranberry American Legion Baseball Team. He was a member of St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, Cranberry Twp.
He is survived by his wife,Betty Connelly,whom he married December 20, 1979; daughter, Kathryn Suhoskey and her husband Jan of Sewell, NJ; son, Patrick L. Connelly III and his wife Terry of Mars; stepdaughter, Karen Wenzel and husband Rick of Zelienople; stepson, David Lotz of Cranberry Twp.; sister, Isabelle Kelly of Whitehall; 9 grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. In addition to his parents , he was preceded by 2 sisters, Grace Morrow and Mary Ann Huston and a brother, Robert 'Pat' Connelly.

Mr. Cretella was a member of St. Ferdinand Catholic Church and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII.
Beloved father of Ronald S. Cretella and Robert F. Cretella both of Cranberry Twp., brother of Rose Placido of the North Side, Mary Dailey of the North Side and Marge Steedle of Sheraden. Also survived by 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Born January 2, 1916 in Fombell, she was the daughter of the late Charles L. & Agnes J. (Donnell) Hazen. Mrs. Deemer was a life-long member of Providence Baptist Church, Ellwood City where she was a Sunday School Teacher and Deaconess. She was a graduate of Slippery Rock State Teachers College and retired in 1980 from Riverside School District after 29 years of teaching. She also was a member of the Pennsylvania Retired Teachers Assn.
She is survived by a daughter, Sally J. Happel of Lakewood, CO; 2 sons, Larry C. Deemer of Prosperity, PA & Jerry C. Deemer of Harrisburg. Also survived by 8 grandchildren & 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clair W. Deemer in 1995, 3 brothers & 3 sisters.

Mildred E. Fouse, age 89, of Zelienople, died Saturday, July 3, 2004, at her residence.
Born August 10, 1914 in Scott Twp., Lawrence County, she was the daughter of the late Frank & Sara Peebles Brown. Mrs. Fouse married Dr. Gerald H. 'Doc' Fouse, June 26, 1943 in New Castle. Dr. and Mrs. Fouse had practiced veterinary medicine in the Zelienople area since 1946. A 1935 graduate of Slippery Rock Teachers College she had also taught in the Bellevue and Harlansburg School Districts. She was a member of Calvin Presbyterian Church, Zelienople & was a past president of the Women´s Auxillary at Calvin Church. Mrs. Fouse had also been a member of the Traveler´s Club of Zelienople, the Auxillary of the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association, & the Zelienople Women´s Community Club.
She is survived by her daughter Mrs. Dana (Susan) Boyd of Canandaigua, NY; 2 sons, James R. Fouse and John R. Fouse, both of Zelienople; a sister, Jane E. Book of Harlansburg and 2 grandsons, Jason and Matthew Boyd.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Gerald H. 'Doc' Fouse on November 30, 1996.
Visitation and Interment will be private.

Leona Ann Fresh, age 57, of Valencia, died Saturday, May 1, 2004 at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born January 14, 1947 in Clarion, PA, she was the daughter of Wanda (McCrackin)
Garris Carrol & the late George Garris.
Mrs. Fresh enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, & crafts and was an avid Elvis fan.
In addition to her mother who resides in Mercer she is survived by 3 daughters; Joyce A. Ridenour of Beaver, PA, Dawn A. Cramer of Saxonburg, PA, Stephanie L. Climo of Valencia, PA; a son, James A. Fresh of Butler, PA; 2 brothers, William & George Garris, both of Clarion, PA and 13 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Garris & her stepfather Don Carrol.

Robert M. Garis
Robert M. Garis, 77, of Zelienople, died Thursday, April 1, 2004 at his home.
Born Dec. 25, 1926 in Zelienople, the son of the late Robert A. & Ida L. (Eckhart) Garis.
Mr. Garis graduated from Westminster College & retired from Johns Manville. He was a member of St. Paul´s Lutheran Church in Zelienople & American Legion Post 474 of Zelienople. He was an avid golfer.
He is survived by a niece & a nephew. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister.
Private Graveside Services were held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Zelienople, with the Rev. William Brewer, his church pastor, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Mr. Garis may be made to a charity of the donor´s choice.
Lee B. Grant, MD
Lee B. Grant, MD, age 83, of Cranberry Twp., died Thursday, May 20, 2004 at Sherwood Oaks Retirement Community, Cranberry Twp.
Born December 2, 1920 in Detroit, MI, he was the son of the late Dr. Lee E. & Mildred (Booth) Grant. Dr. Grant retired in 1964 as a US Air Force Colonel and was Korean War veteran where he was awarded a bronze star. He was the Medical Director for PPG Industries from 1964 to 1981 and retired from Western Electric in Omaha,NE.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret D. Grant of Cranberry Twp.; four sons, Lee B. Grant, Jr. of Ft. Collins, CO,Thomas Mayes Grant of Poca, WV, James Taylor Grant of Brentwood, TN Joseph Durham Grant of Johnson City, TN and a daughter, Susan Lynn Bauer of Waxsaw, NC; he is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.

Margaret H. Grelling, age 89, of Zelienople, died Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at UPMC Passavant Hospital, McCandless Twp.
Born October 19, 1914 in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late Harvey & the late Norretta (Mangold) Ruckel.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Eleanor Stewart of Cranberry Twp., & Norretta Cooper of the North Hills; a son, Alvin T. Grelling, Jr. of Cranberry Twp.; brother, Harvey Ruckel of California; sister, Eilleen Klajnowski of the North Side. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, & 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Thomas Grelling who died in 1973, 1 great-grandson, 1 sister & 1 brother.

Born May 13, 1914 in Perry Twp., Lawrence County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph & Elsie Myers Marshall. Mrs. Hall was a member of Grace Church, Harmony.
She is survived by 3 sons,Leroy Hall of Lancaster Twp., Clyde Hall of Lancaster Twp., Don Hall of Volant; 3 daughters, Alice Short of Lancaster Twp., Mary White of Cottonwood, AZ, Rita Hahn of Harmony; 2 brothers, Irvin Marshall of Harmony, Clinton Marshall of Fombell; 3 sisters, Marjorie Knauff of Zelienople, Gladys Faull of Ellwood City, Annabelle Young of Aliquippa. Also survived by 19 grandchildren, 34 greatgrandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde A. Hall on March 16, 1962, and also by 1 brother and 1 sister.

James P. Hannigan
James P. Hannigan, age 72, of Cranberry Twp., died Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at UPMC Passavant Hospital, McCandless Twp.
Born January 5, 1932 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late James P. & Katherine Casper Hannigan.
Mr. Hannigan was a letter carrier retiring in 1987 from the US Postal Service, McKnight Station. He was a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the Blawnox American Legion. He was also a member of Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church, Wexford.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy A.(Humes) Hannigan, whom he married August 1, 1959. 2 daughters, Mrs. Al (Jodi L.) Novak of Butler & Colleen K. Kost of Valencia; a son, Todd Eric Hannigan of Warrington, PA; 3 brothers, Charles Hannigan of Phoenix, AZ, Martin Hannigan of Columbus, GA, & Walter Hannigan of Shaler; 4 sisters, Mildred Brame of Phoenix, AZ, Ora Edmundson of Shaler, Katherine Biernesser of Charlotte, NC, Aline Misitis of Tionesta.
Also 5 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Andrew J. Hohman, age 90, of New Sewickley Twp., died Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at UPMC Passavant Cranberry.
Born June 6, 1914 in Ingomar, he was the son of the late Harry & Minnie Wagner Hohman. He was a WWII Army veteran. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and was a member of Operating Engineers Union Local #66 for 58 years. He was also a member of the PA Pony Pulling Assoc. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Highland, McCandless Twp.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth 'Betty' Hohman, whom he married September 24, 1949;
son, Charles Hohman of Crestview, FL; 2 daughters, Sandra Link of Portales, NM & Kathy Laue of Connoquenessing Twp.; 2 brothers, Earl Hohman &Roy Hohman, both of Cranberry Twp.;4 sisters, Lucy Logan of Ross Twp.,Jane Schmidt of McCandless Twp., Betty Layden of Allison Park & Wilma Gruver of Ross Twp. Robert W. 'Bob' Hollerman
Robert W. 'Bob' Hollerman, age 86, of Harmony, formerly of Mercer Road, New Brighton, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 1, 2004.
Born March 5, 1918 in Middle Lancaster, he was the son of the late William & Nellie Belle (Moyer) Hollerman. Mr. Hollerman was a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church, Middle Lancaster where he was head usher for 26 years and Chairman of the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery Association. He was a retired Police Captain with the Pennsylvania Railroad and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in the Beaver Valley. Mr. Hollerman was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather and an avid hunter, fisherman and skilled carpenter.
He is survived by his daughter,Sandy Mandeville & her husband John of Charlotte, NC;
3 grandchildren: Sarah Mandeville of Oklahoma City, John Mandeville & his wife, Tiffany of Russell, PA , Robert 'Bob' Mandeville of Warren, PA and 1 great granddaughter: Madison MandevilleBrother-in-law of: Blaine & Betty Shidemantle, Doris Schott, Hazel White, Margaret Schott, Helen Schott, Irene Schott, & Dave Gibson He is also survived by many nieces & nephews.

Georgetta J. Jackson, age 78, of Zelienople died Monday, October 11, 2004 at Creek Meadows Personal Assisted Living, Franklin Twp, Beaver County.
Born May 1, 1926 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Frank J. & Stella B.(Powell) Rape. Mrs. Jackson was a life-long member of English Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Loyal Sunday School Class and Friends In Christ. She was a graduate of Zelienople High School, class of 1944 and worked at Mellon Bank in Zelienople for 17 years.
She is survived by her son, Neal H. Jackson & his wife, Jennifer of Zelienople and
three grandchildren; Kevin N. Jackson, Megan C. Jackson, & Aaron A. Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard E. Jackson whom she married Sept. 5, 1948 and who died Dec. 26,1995; and 2 sisters, Bordella and Bernice Rape.
