SUDDEN DEATH - ISAAC HOOPES, a much respected
citizen of New Garden, Chester county, died suddenly on
Tuesday night last. His wife awoke during the night, and
finding he was suffering from indisposition and arose from
bed, but when she had struck a light she found the vital spark
had fled. He was in the prime of life, surrounded with every
worldly comfort - an amicable family and large circle of
friends, who will deeply feel his loss. On the previous day he
had been aiding one of his neighbors in raising a building.

SUDDEN DEATH - Joshua B. Pusey, a much respected
citizen of Londongrove township, died suddenly on Monday last.
His son was driving him to the railroad depot at Avondale
where he was to take the train for Friends'Boarding School in
Westtown to meet the school committee of which he was a
member. He felt somewhat indisposed the day before, spoke of a
pain in the breast, but felt no alarm. He probably died of
disease of the heart; his son observed his head to drop, and
at once drove to the residence of Davis Allen nearby; but in a
few moments the vital spark has fled. He was a useful citizen
and greatly respected by all who knew him. He was about sixty
years of age.

DEATH OF AN AGED WOMAN - Martha Way died at the
residence of her son-in-law, John Broomell, in Upper Oxford
township, on seventh day the 8th of 10th month, 1870, aged 97
years 11 months and 19 days. She was a minister in the Society
of Friends for more than fifty years. She was the mother of 13
children, but four of whom survived her; 62 grand children, 45
of which are living; 90 great grand children, 76 of them
living; and five great great grand children all living; making
170 descendants, 130 of which are still living.

SUDDEN DEATH - Mrs. Mary Farrell, wife of James
Farrell, of West Chester, died very suddenly, from hemorrhage,
on Monday morning last. Her health up to the time of her
death, had been better than for a long time, and she retired
to bed the previous evening, without making any complaint of
indisposition. She was upwards of 70 years of age, was born in
the county of Rosscommon, Ireland, and came to this country 17
years ago. She leaves behind her in West Chester, a very large
family, mostly grown up. - Her remains were taken to the
Catholic Church on Wednesday morning, and from thence conveyed
to the Cemetery, followed by a large number of relatives and
friends.
