Robert A. Wilson
Robert A. Wilson, 61, of 312 N. Grove Street, Lock Haven, died Friday Sept. 2, 2005 at his home.
He was born March 24, 1944 in Renovo, the son of the late Robert A. and Helen Hill Wilson Sr. He is survived by a son Robert W. Wilson of Renovo, a brother Richard Wilson of Florida, and 3 granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by a grandson Robert W. Wilson and sister Sara Jane Christin.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Alexander W. D'Ercole
Alexander William (Bill) D'Ercole, 79, of RD 1, Mill Hall, passed away at his place of residence on Sept. 5, 2005.
He was born on Aug. 10, 1926, the son of Michele and Anna D Ercole.
Bill was a World War II veteran. He retired from Champion Parts Rebuilders after 39 years.
Bill is survived by his wife of 19 years, Vela Brublia (June) D Ercole; sons, William D Ercole of Mill Hall, and David D Ercole, Daniel D Ercole and John D Ercole, all of Red Lion. He also has one step-daughter, Geraldine Lucas of Mill Hall.
He was preceded in death by his son, Charles D Ercole.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild.
As per Bill's wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

Bernadine E. Walizer
Bernadine E. Walizer, 84, formerly of Salona, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005 at the Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit.
She was born Nov. 26, 1920 in Rauchtown, the daughter of the late DeLoss and Florence Bixel Ramsey. On June 15, 1940 in Trout Run, she married Charles H. Walizer who survives in Mill Hall.
She was a 1938 graduate of Mill Hall High School. She was first employed by Sylvania, and then by the Lock Haven Wire Mill. She retired in 1985 after 18 years of service as a nurses aid at the Lock Haven Hospital.
She was a member of the Salona United Methodist Church. In her younger years she participated in area softball leagues with the Salona softball team.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter Kay E. Brungard (Richard), of Casa Grande, Ariz.,; a son Charles W. Biff Walizer (Becky) of Mill Hall; two sisters, Lois Crawford of State College, and Shirley Wells (George) of Lamar; two brothers, Charles Ramsey (Doris) of Mechanicsburg, and Donald Ramsey (Clarice) of Gardners; nine grandchildren and one great-grandaughter.
Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 9, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home Inc., 231 High Street, Flemington, with the Rev. John Welshans officiating. Private burial services will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
William B. McClure
William B. McClure, 79, of Milesburg, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005 at Mt. Nittany Medical Centre.
Born in Milesburg on July 9, 1926, he was the son of the late William M. and Carolyn Baird McClure. He was raised by his grandparents, the late Edward and Edith Baird.
Bill married Florence J. Thompson on Nov. 3, 1951 in Howard. She survives at home.
Bill attended Bellefonte High School. He was employed with Cerro Metal of Bellefonte for over 45 years. He was also a member of Faith Chapel United Methodist Church in Howard.
Bill was a member of Oak Flat Hunting Club, Howard Area Lions Club, Howard Grange #297, Milesburg American Legion, and Free and Accepted Masons Lodge #268 of Bellefonte.
Bill also served his country in the U.S. Navy During World War II.
In addition to his spouse, Bill is also survived by three sons, Gary W. and wife Peggy of Milesburg, Denis Denny and wife Sherry of Beech Creek, and Robert Bubba of Wingate; and four grandchildren, Michelle, Devin, Amber and Jonathan.
Services will be Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005, at 11 a.m. at W. Robert Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main Street, Howard, with Pastor Terry N. Daugherty officiating. Burial will take place at Schenck's Cemetery, Howard Township. Visitation will be Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. with a Lions Club memorial service at 9 p.m..

Mazie M. Kepner
Mazie M. Kepner, 82, of Route 973 Highway, Jersey Shore, died Monday, Sept. 5, 2005 in the Manor Care Health Center In Jersey Shore.
Mazie was born April 14, 1923 in Marsh Hill, the daughter of Millard Kepner and the former Lorina Jackson.
For many years she was a member of the Salladasburg United Methodist Church. Earlier in her life she was employed by Rayovac and the West Co.
Surviving are three sons, Harry S. Shaffer of Jersey Shore, Guy Howard of Cogan House and Gil A. Howard of Wichata Falls, Texas; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Edith Mussman of Cogan Station, Olive Rolls of Williamsport and Helen Crawford of Rose Valley, and one brother, Evert Kepner of Marsh Hill.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Kilmer.
Graveside funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 9, 2005 at 10 a.m. at the Pennsdale Cemetery, Route 14 North.

Evelyn A. McKeague
Evelyn A. McKeague, 90, a former Renovo resident died Friday, Sept. 2, 2005 at Gloucestor Manor, Sewell, N.J. where she resided for the past eight months.
Born June 21, 1915 in Lykens (Dauphin County) she was the daughter of Preston L. and Cathryn E. (Wolfe) Paul.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth L. McKeague who died in 1979.
Mrs. McKeague taught fifth grade at the former Farwell Elementary School retiring in 1975 after 29 years.
Surviving are one daughter, Janice Rotolo and her husband Gerald of Sewell, N.J.; three grandchildren, Denise, Andrea and Stephanie; six great-grandsons and one brother Marlin Paul of Renovo.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005 at Rest Haven Memorial Park, with Pastor Marian K. Anderson officiating.

Ronald L. Bower
Ronald L. Bower, 66 of 29 Woodward Meadows, Lock Haven, passed away Sept. 7, 2005 in Scranton.
Born Feb. 8, 1939 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Kenneth I. and Althea G. (Learn) Bower.
Mr. Bower retired from Jersey Shore Steel and was a U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving are four brothers, William R. Brungard of Castanea, Kenneth E. Bower Sr. of Lock Haven, Stephen P. Bower Sr. of Lock Haven and James M. Bower Sr. of Flemington; four sisters, Linda L. Demaree of Milroy and Agnes M. Croak, Patricia A. Winkleman and Frances M. Bottorf all of Lock Haven. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005 at 10 a.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home Inc., 231 High St., Flemington. Visitation will be Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. Burial will take place at Dunnstown Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Red Cross for hurricane victims.
Burnard B. (Sonny) Bartley
Burnard B. (Sonny) Bartley, 67, formerly of Fulmer's Personal Care Home, Dunnstown, died July 4, 2003, in Susque-View Home, Lock Haven.
Born Aug. 23, 1935 in Draketown, he was the son of the late Burnard Y. and Edna Myers Bartley.
He had worked as a custodian at Assante's and had previously worked at the Kilsdonk chemical plant in Lock Haven.
Surviving are two daughters; five sisters, Alice Croak of Bellefonte, Evelyn (Raymond) Barner of Mill Hall, Esther (Ted) Walters of Flemington, JoAnn Weaver of Prospect Park and Mary Yocum of Williamsport; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas B. Bartley, in 1965.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at 3 p.m., in the Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, Mill Hall. The Rev. Viola Tyson will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.

Daniel J. Fisher Sr.
Daniel J. Fisher Sr., 40, died July 6, 2003, in Geisinger Medical Center.
Born April 13, 1963 in National City, Calif., he was a son of Ronald G. Fisher Sr. and the late Janice E. Potter. He was a graduate of Ottumwa High School in 1981.
He was married to Billee Rae Workman Fisher on Dec. 31, 2001. She survives.
Employed as a truck driver for J.B. Hunt, Mr. Fisher was a member of the Castanea Fire Hall and also was active in the Flemington Little League.
Surviving are a son, Daniel J. Fisher Jr. of Chanute, Kan.; two stepsons, Wade and Matthew Fuller, both of Lock Haven; three daughters, Dannelle Fisher, Mystic L. Fisher, and Desera Fisher, all of Chanute, Kan.; two stepdaughters, Kayla and Brittney Fuller, both of Lock Haven; two brothers, Ronald Fisher Jr. of Lansing, Kan. and Timothy Fisher Sr. of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three sisters, Rhonda Courtland of Gilbert, Ariz., Linda Reiter of LaHarpe, Kan., and Lila Fisher of Arkansas City, Kan.; and a grandchild, Brian Stiver Jr.
He was preceded in death by his mother and brother Clifford Fisher.
Burial and services will be held in Iola, Kan. at the Yocum Funeral Home. Private memorial services will be at the convenience of the family in Lock Haven.

Gladys W. (Weber) McKinney
Gladys W. (Weber) McKinney, 89, Beech Creek, died Saturday, July 5, 2003, in Susque-View Home, Lock Haven.
She was born July 11, 1913 in Rebersburg, a daughter of the late Ambrose and Lydia Stitzer Weber.
She was a 1931 graduate of Lock Haven High School, and a 1933 graduate of Lock Haven Normal School. She was a teacher at Beech Creek Elementary School from 1933 until 1951, and she was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Russell B. McKinney, whom she married March 22, 1951 in Indiana, Pa. They celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary this past March. Also surviving are two step-granddaughters, Trina and Christel McKinney, both of Dillsburg; a half-brother, Leonard Weber of Lamar; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Robb, in 1944; a sister, Beulah Zerby; half brothers Willard and Wilson Weber; and a stepson, Russell B. McKinney Jr.
Funeral services will be at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall, Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Franklin Helt officiating. Burial will follow in Hayes-Fearon Cemetery. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

JoAnna E. Quiggle
JoAnna E. Quiggle, 58, 212 Logan Ave., Castanea, died Tuesday, July 8, 2003, in Centre Community Hospital, State College.
Born June 11, 1945 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Blair L. Earon and Ruby A. Klinefelter Earon of Lock Haven.
She was married to Joseph L. Quiggle on Nov. 9, 1963 in Lock Haven. He survives.
JoAnna worked for Weis Markets and later for Widmann's Warehouse, McElhattan. She was currently employed at Scot's Lo-Cost as a baker and was known to many as the Hoagie Roll Maker.
She was a member of the Flemington First Church of Christ and was an avid crafter who enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and sewing.
Along with her husband, she ran a crafting business known as Flags by JoAnna.
She was also known as the scrubby lady because of her knack for crafting pot scrubbers. She had recently made 150 of the scrubbers for the Relay for Life.
She enjoyed camping.
Surviving are two sons, Rodney L. Quiggle and his wife, Amy, of Mill Hall and Keith E. Quiggle of Swissdale; a daughter, Maloni J. Miller and her husband, Terry, of Canonsburg; a brother, Gary Earon of Lock Haven; and four grandchildren, Lea Michelle Miller, McKayla Brooke Miller, Courtney Roseanna Quiggle and Chelsey Jo Dershem.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Earon.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 11, 2003 at 10 a.m. in the Moriarty-Dutcavich Funeral Home, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven. The Rev. Mark E. Riley will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday, July 10, 2003 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home.

Linda L. DeLaney Hershberger
Linda L. DeLaney Hershberger, 59, 209 Elm St., Jersey Shore, died July 7, 2003, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 26, 1944 in Jersey Shore, a daughter of Donald N. DeLaney Sr. and Helen Billman DeLaney.
She was a 1961 graduate of Jersey Shore.
Linda was employed by Jersey Shore Hospital as the director of Housekeeping, Dietary and Linen for 24 years.
She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church.
Linda loved to read and enjoyed flowers and crafts.
She is survived by a son, Ralph M. Jr. of Jersey Shore; two granddaughters, Devin R. Hershberger of Anchorage, Alaska and Daidra G. Hershbeger of Jersey Shore; a grandson, Braucht A. Hershberger of Jersey Shore; a brother, Donald DeLaney Jr. of McElhattan; a sister, Christine (Dean) Kistner of Jersey Shore; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a son, Vincent Charles, and a brother, George Charles.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Thursday in the St. John Lutheran Church with the Rev. Kerry Aucker officiating. Interment will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery. The family will provide the flowers. William Edward Bang Durkin
William Edward Bang Durkin, 88, Beech Creek, died Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at Lock Haven Hospital.
Born July 15, 1914 in Blanchard, he was the son of the late William Joseph and Anne Elizabeth Stricker Durkin.
He was married to Hazel Phillips Durkin on May 31, 1941 in Monument. She survives at home.
He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran.
Mr. Durkin worked for General Refractories Brick Yard in Beech Creek and Harbison-Walker of Monument. He then worked for Piper Aircraft in Lock haven until his retirement in 1979.
He was a member of Camp Big Pine on Beech Creek Mountain.
He enjoyed hunting, all types of gardening and above all, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are a daughter, Carol and husband, Jack Robison of Mingoville; a son, Ken and wife, Fran Durkin of Bellefonte; a sister, Joanne Vilello of Lock Haven; three grandchildren, Michelle and husband, Greg Herman, Jill and husband, Mike Weaver and Shawn Robison; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Bryan Durkin, on July 24, 1992.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2003 in the W. Robert Neff Funeral Home, 837 Main St., Howard. Rev. Stan D. Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Baptist Cemetery, Blanchard. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, July 11, 2003 in the funeral home.
Anne Jo Summers
Anne Jo Summers, 69, widow of Samuel E. Summers, 60 Water St., Loganton, passed away on July 9, 2003 at Lock Haven Hospital.
Born in Loganton, she was the daughter of Thelma Matthews of Carroll and the late Mickey Slim Matthews.
She was a seamstress for the former Arrow Shirt Co. of Williamsport, and tied fishing flies for National Sporting Goods of Jersey Shore and Orvis Sporting Goods.
She was an E.M.T. and firefighter for Sugar Valley Volunteer Fire Co. No. 13.
Besides her mother, she is survived by three sons, Michael W. and William M., both of Loganton and Robert A. of Williamsport, and three grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was pre-deceased by two brothers, Charles and James Matthews.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Wayne P. Urbine Funeral Home Inc., Main and Water streets, Loganton, with the Rev. Brian K. Roloson officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Rosecrans.

Dorothy O. Blanchard
Dorothy O. Blanchard, 76, passed quietly to the nearer kingdom of God, in her home, on July 1, 2003 following a long battle with cancer. Mrs. Blanchard was born in Jersey Shore on Dec. 13, 1926 to the late LaMont and Hazel Overdorf.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 55 years, Raymond S. Blanchard; a sister, Lois J. Prinzo of Slingerlands, N.Y. and several nieces and nephews. She was also the beloved mother of four Chosen Daughters, Marianna Rizzo of Crofton, Md., Lorraine Charboneau Wynne and Susan Pezzolla, both of Albany, N.Y. and the late Michele Zedek. Dorothy was pre-deceased by a sister, Sarabelle Phillips.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2003, at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Delmar, N.Y., with a reception to follow. Interment of her cremains will be at a later date.

Joshua W. "Josh" Schneider
Joshua W. Josh Schneider, 15, Avis, died Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at Camp Dost, Millville, after a lengthy illness.
He was the son of John and Denise Douty Schneider.
A memorial service will be Saturday, July 19, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall, with the Rev. Wayne L. Hepler officiating. Friends and relatives may call from 12:30 until 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Interment will be private. The family will provide the flowers. Philip J. Salvaggio
Philip J. Salvaggio, 70, of Lemoyne, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004 at Spring Creek Rehabilitation Center, Harrisburg.
He was retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a security officer and had previously worked for the commonwealth as a barber, park ranger, duplicating machine operator, and supervisor.
A devoted husband, father, and brother, he enjoyed bowling, guitar playing, and was an avid New York Yankees and Penn State Football fan.
He was born June 9, 1934 in Mayfield, Lackawanna County, to the late Salvatore and Mary Capadona Salvaggio.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Miller Salvaggio; two sons, Chad M. of Harrisburg and Salvatore A. of Lemoyne; four sisters, Rosalie Tokarczyk of Germyn, Johanna Freno of Mayfield, Grace Nati of Carbondale, and Mary Chaykovksy of Columbia, Md.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Hanover Township. There will be no viewing or visitation.

Linda L. Fravel
Linda L. Fravel, 64, of 16 Buttercup Lane, McElhattan, died Dec. 30, 2004 at her home.
Born Nov. 1, 1940 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Glenn Dick and Dorothy Bitner Rupert.
She married Lester C. Pete Fravel on July 18, 1959. He died May 9, 2002.
She was a 1958 graduate of Lock Haven High School.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Ladies Auxiliaries of American Legion Post 131, Lock Haven and Post 623, Beech Creek. She also attended the Senior Citizens in Beech Creek. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needle point and baking.
Surviving are five daughters, Lori Bruno of Phoenix, Ariz., Lisa Fravel and Jodi Fravel, both of McElhattan, Shelly Allen and Cindy Simcox, both of Mill Hall; two sons, Tory Fravel of Sumneytown and Christy Fravel of Lock Haven; a brother, Larry Rupert of Beech Creek; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lucinda M. Storm, on Nov. 17, 2004.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 2005 at the Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, 320 Main St., Mill Hall. Officiating will be Jim Leitzel. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday and one hour prior to services on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be held at the Hayes-Ferron Cemetery, Beech Creek.

Gladys T. Beck
Gladys T. Beck, 81, formerly of Linn St., State College, died Jan. 10, 2004 in Bucktail Medical Center.
Born Oct. 1, 1922 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Ann Beattie Thompson.
She was married to Nevin A. Beck in 1976. He died Dec. 21, 1996.
She was an executive secretary for Merck Corp. in Philadelphia, retiring in 1978. She was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, State College.
Surviving are stepdaughters, M. Lavonne Hillyer of South Renovo and Eileen E. Herring of Merrimack, N.H.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a stepson, Elwood Beck, on Feb. 10, 1995.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004 at 2 p.m. in the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home Inc., 231 High St., Flemington. The Rev. Donald Fornwalt will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association.
Forrest Glenn Rogers Jr.
Forrest Glenn Rogers Jr., 76, a retired personnel manager, died Dec. 13, 2003.
He was the son of the late Glenn and Mabel Rogers of Nittany.
Survivors included a daughter, Barbara Wise of Nashville, Tenn.; two sons, Tom Rogers of Tallahassee, Fla. and Todd Rogers of Atlanta, Ga.; three sisters, June Stover, Helen Miller of Nittany and Marian Ream of Centre Hall; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Lois Ankey Rogers.
He was born in NIttany and served in the Navy during World War II. He subsequently graduated from the Pennsylvania State University and began working in the field of personnel management.
He lived in Lock Haven for 10 years. He moved with his family to Tampa, Fla. in 1956 and then to Miami and Atlanta. He retired to Orlando area and had been living near his son in Tallahassee since 2001.
Services were private.
Ralph L. Dugan
Ralph L. Dugan, 65, formerly of R.R. 1 Lock Haven, died Jan. 9, 2004 in the South Mountain Restoration Center, South Mountain.
Born March 30, 1938 in Lock Haven, he was a son of the late Charles D. and Pearl Ramser Dugan.
He was married to Myrtle E. Clayton on Oct. 29, 1976. She died Oct. 13, 1989.
He had worked for the Woolrich Woolen Mills, Bloomsburg Mills and Simon Andrews Burial Vault Company.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are a daughter, Brenda Probst of Mill Hall; two sons, Ralph L. Dugan Jr. of Lock Haven and Carl M. Dugan of Lock Haven; five sisters, Eldora Croak of Beech Creek, Helen Hayes of Lock Haven, Betty Koch of Haneyville, Grace Walk of Salladasburg and Geneva Duck of Flemington; two brothers, James Dugan and Robert Dugan, both of Lock Haven; 11 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Wynn, who died in 1994; a brother, Raymond Dugan; and a grandson, Matt Wynn.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Jan. 13, 2003 in the Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, Mill Hall. Pastor Bruce Wallace will officiate. Interment will be in Woolrich Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the South Mountain Restoration Center, in care of the funeral home.
