Wilma Jean (Messman) Kennedy
Wilma Jean (Messman) Kennedy, 76, Westport, died at her residence on Monday, June 30, 2003.
Graveside funeral services will be at the chapel in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hyner, at 3 p.m., Wednesday, with Fr. Donald Boslett officiating. There will be no public visitation.
Maxwell Funeral Home, Renovo, is in charge of the arrangements.
Jane E. (Ross) Summerson
Jane E. (Ross) Summerson, 83, Renovo, died at Bucktail Medical Center on Saturday, June 28, 2003.
Funeral services will be held at the Maxwell Funeral Home at noon on Wednesday. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until noon. Burial will follow in New Maple Grove Cemetery, Leidy Township.
Maxwell Funeral Home, Renovo, is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Richard E. Herman
Richard Emory Herman, 59, 17046 Virginia Ave., Williamsport, Md., died Sunday, June 29, 2003, in the Washington County Hospital.
He was born April 16, 1944 in Lock Haven, the son of the late Clair Emory and Bernice Hazel Miller Herman.
He was a 1962 graduate of Bald Eagle-Nittany High School. He attended Williamsport Area Community College, Williamsport, Pa.
He was a member of the marching band at BEN and attended both regional and state band in 1962. He also had been a member of the Backbeats band.
He was a project manager with Comcast Cable Company, Pittsburgh.
He was of the Methodist faith and was an amateur ham radio operator and fly fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Janet L. Sottile Herman; a daughter, Geri K. Myers, Mill Hall; a son, Richard J. Herman of Lock Haven; a sister, Donna K. Romig of State College; and a grandson, Matthew Hunter Myers of Mill Hall.
Memorial services will be Monday, July 7, 2003 at 8 p.m., in the Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, Mill Hall, with the Rev. Mark Riley officiating.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2003, at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport, Md., with the Rev. James E. Swecker officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, Williamsport, Md., Wednesday, July 2, 2003, from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral home will be open at 9 a.m. Wednesday for the convenience of the family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Central Mountain Band Booster Club through the Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home.
Local arrangements have been entrusted to the Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, Mill Hall.
Fred M. Brungard
Mr. Fred M. Brungard, 86, 4610 Dever Drive, Martinez, Ga., husband of 60 years to the late Eleanor M. Brungard, died at home, Monday, June 30, 2003.
A remembrance circle will be Thursday, July 3, 2003 at 3 p.m. in the Wymberly Club House.
Mr. Brungard was a native of Avis and had lived in the Martinez, Ga. area for 20 years.
He was a retired mechanic and welder, and for the past 18 years, had been a handyman for his Wymberly friends and neighbors. He had enjoyed golf.
Mr. Brungard was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church and was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the Air Force in Berma as a sergeant and armorer gunner.
He also was very active in the OCAW of the AFL-CIO for many years and served as president, secretary and treasurer.
He was a member of the Nittany Valley Fire Department.
Survivors include a daughter, Eleahn Dietrich Kahn of West Chester; a son, Fred M. Brungard Jr. of Liberty, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Kimberly Dietrich of Fairfax, Va. and Joshua Dietrich of Potomac Falls, Va.; two great-grandchildren, Samuel and Meera Dietrich; two sisters, Ida M. Brungard of Avis and Freida Paskovich of Osterburg; and a brother, Joe Brungard of Pittsburgh.

Mrs. Jane E. Temple
Mrs. Jane E. Temple, 83, formerly of Muncy and Twin Maples, Jersey Shore, died Monday, June 30, 2003, in the Williamsport Hospital.
She was born Oct. 25, 1919 in Hughesville.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Eben Harris and Willard (Bubba) Temple.
Surviving are two sons, Paul C. Harris of Lock Haven and Gerald E. Harris Sr. of Raphine, Va.; three grandchildren, Guy J. Harris of Palmyra, Gerald E. Harris Jr. of Hughesville and Julie A. Harris of Raphine, Va.; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Whistler and Betty Crawford.
Her hobbies were shopping and finding a good bargain. She loved her pets and was a joy to all those who knew her.
Memorial services and burial in Wildwood Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.

Dorothy J. Douglas
Dorothy J. Douglas, 92, of Daytona Beach, Fla., died at 12:38 a.m., May 21, 2003, at the Rockford, Ill. home of her daughter. She died as the result of a second stroke within the month of May.
Born Sept. 7, 1910, in Springhill, Nova Scotia, Canada, to Herbert and Georgina Terris, she was the last of nine children.
She took her nurses training at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Mass., moved to Detroit, Mich. and later married Russell Douglas on Feb. 11, 1938.
In the eight cities they lived in during their 64 years of marriage, she was active in church women's groups, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts with her two children, and Republican Women's Club. She enjoyed pinochle, bridge, knitting and needlepoint.
She returned to nursing in 1960 and was a nurse in the newborn nursery at Ingells Memorial Hospital, Harvey, Ill., where she took care of three of her grandchildren born there in 1964, 1966 and 1967.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia (Douglas) Matthews; a son, Daniel Davis; seven grandchildren, Joyce (Matthews) Barringer, Gail (Matthews) Giglio, Roy Matthews, Julie (Douglas) Williams, Kris (Douglas) Barnsfather, Janie (Davis) Stockman, and Gena Davis; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Russell, and a son, Kenneth.
Memorial services will be held in Rockford, Ill. Burial will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery.
Marian E. Grove
Marian E. Grove, 75, 194 Grove Road, Linden, died Wednesday, July 2, 2003, at ManorCare, Jersey Shore, following a brief illness.
She and her husband, Sheldon R., observed their 56th anniversary on Aug. 10.
Marian retired as the head cook at Lose School. She was a member of the former Linden United Methodist Church, the Good Sam Club Chapter 11, the Salladasburg Senior Citizens, the Pine Run Grange, a former member of the Susquehanna Swingers Square Dance Club, and enjoyed bowling, camping and square dancing.
Born Aug. 2, 1927 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of Edward Sr. and Miriam Doebler Schweikart.
Surviving besides her husband are a son, David E. of Jersey Shore; a daughter, Linda L. Schuck, and a brother, Edward Schweikart Jr., both of Linden; sisters, Susan Feist of Nisbet, Evelyn (Jack) Billman of Covington, La., Catherine Carr of Jersey Shore, and Carol (Richard) Retorick of Montoursville; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Knight-Confer's, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport, with the Rev. Thomas J. Fetterolf officiating. Burial will be at Green Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home.
Robert J. (Jud) Confer
Robert J. (Jud) Confer, 95, formerly of 496 Long Run Road, Mill Hall, died July 4, 2003, at ManorCare, Jersey Shore.
Born March 10, 1908 in Loganton, he was the son of the late William A. and Helen Carstetter Confer.
He was married to Lillian C. McClintick Confer on Jan. 16, 1932 in the Salona Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death Aug. 6, 2001.
He was a 1926 graduate of Jersey Shore High School.
From 1935 until 1950, he worked for the Bellefonte Lime Company and from 1950 until he retired in 1992, he owned and operated Confer's Service Station in Salona.
He was a member of Lafayette Lodge 199, Lock Haven; Williamsport Consistory; Jaffa Shrine, Altoona; and the Clinton County Shrine Club. He was also a member of the Salona Lutheran Church.
Surviving are a son, Robert L. Confer of Lock Haven; a sister, Josephine Linderman of Jersey Shore; four grandchildren, Sharon Morley of Bouckville, N.Y., JoAnn Walizer of Loganton, Julie Panczysny of Linden, and William Confer of Lock Haven; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be July 9, 2003, at 11 a.m., in the Salona Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, 320 Main St., Mill Hall.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salona Lutheran Church through the funeral home.
Maj. Leslie M. Hilty
Maj. Leslie M. Hilty, 58, of 27 Jeffrey Drive, Larksville, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
She was born in Latrobe, Pa. on Aug. 21, 1945, the daughter of Cyntha Steck Sperber of Latrobe and the late Glenn E. Sperber.
She was married to Maj. Daniel E. Hilty Sr. on Nov. 8, 1968. He survives in Larksville.
She was a 1963 graduate of Latrobe High School.
She and her husband were Salvation Army officers for 22 years, serving in Pen Argyl, Pa. for six years; Lock Haven for 14 years and two years in Wilkes-Barre.
She loved visiting people, preaching, reading and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family.
She was the loving mother of three children, Tracy L. and husband, Fred, White of Lock Haven; Daniel E. Hilty Jr. and wife, Jennifer, of Lock Haven and Glenn E. Hilty at home; two grandchildren, Devin and Bryann Hilty; and three sisters, Lindsay Shaffer of Mt. Pleasant, Pa., Cindy Myers of Coral Springs, Fla. and Laura Edmiston of Altoona.
Services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Salvation Army Citadel, Lock Haven, with visitation Monday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the Citadel.
Memorial contributions will be accepted to the Maj. Leslie M. Hilty Scholarship Fund, in care of Salvation Army School for Officer Training, 201 Lafayette Ave., Suffern, N.Y. 10901-4798.
Brandon S. Berry
Brandon S. Berry, 18, of 181 Shemory Lane, Jersey Shore, died Thursday morning, August 19, 2004 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Born Oct. 1, 1985, in Jersey Shore, he was a son of Kenneth L. Berry and the former Lori A. Shemory.
Brandon was a 2004 graduate of the Jersey Shore High School. While in high school, he was a member of the varsity basketball and football teams.
He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, was a student at the Pennsylvania College of Technology, and was employed by Federal Express and Pizza To Go.
His mother and father survive him, as well as two brothers, Kenneth L. Berry and Ian P. Berry, both of Jersey Shore; maternal grandparents Donald and Helen Shemory of Waterville; and his paternal grandfather, Samuel C. Berry of Cornwall.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandmother Ruth E. Shemory, and his paternal grandmother, Lenora M. Berry.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004 at 11 a.m. in the Trinity United Methodist Church, corner of Allegheny and Glover Streets, Jersey Shore. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, 2004 at the church. The Rev. Richard B. Cartwright, his pastor, will officiate.
Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery.

Violet C. Frederick
Violet Clark Frederick, 90, of 15 1/2 W. Keller St., Castanea, died Aug. 20, 2004 in the Susque-View nursing home in Lock Haven. She had entered Susque-View July 27.
She was born March 19, 1914 in Lock Haven and was the daughter of the late John B. and Florine Smith Clark.
Violet was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Frederick Sr., who died Oct. 30, 1968. They were united in marriage June of 1933.
She was a member of the Castanea Community United Methodist Church. Violet had worked at the former Sylvania Plant in Mill Hall, the former Bloomsburg Mills of Lock Haven, the Woolrich Woolen Mill, and was last employed at the former Mohawk Hotel in Dunnstown.
Survivors include a son, James E. Frederick Jr. and his wife, Ann, of Lock Haven; a brother, Donald V. Clark and his wife, Pearl B., of Mill Hall; two grandsons; three great-grandchildren; and a special niece and nephew, Carol Rodgers and Robert Frederick, both of Rote.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004 at 2 p.m. in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven. Interment will be in the Dunnstown Cemetery. Friends will be received in the funeral home Saturday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial will be accepted to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association through the funeral home.

Louella G. Shaffer
Louella G. Shaffer, of R.R. 1 Sunbury, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004 at the Sunbury Community Hospital where she had been a patient since July 25.
Born July 18, 1923 in Lock Haven, she was a daughter of the late Joseph C. Kitchen and Edith Wagner Kitchen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clair F. Shaffer Sr., and a sister, Anna J. Seybold, also of Lock Haven.
Mrs. Shaffer worked in a local laundry and was employed by Westinghouse during World War II. Following the war, when her husband, Clair, returned from his service in France and Germany, she resumed her duties as a wife, mother, and home-keeper. They were married on Sept. 19, 1940 and enjoyed 58 years together until Clair's death in 1998. The couple lived in Lock Haven and Flemington until 1950 when they moved to Mackeyville. In 1973, the moved to R.R. 1 Beech Creek, and due to health problems, returned to Mackeyville in 1988. Last Nov. 1, she moved in with her son, Clair Jr. and his wife, Brenda, in R.R. 1 Sunbury, because of declining health.
Mrs. Shaffer enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidering, ceramics and various crafts. She also liked gardening, flowers and traveling. Despite her health problems, which spanned a period of 56 years, she was a positive-thinking person who loved life.
She was a member of the Mackeyville Church of Christ which she and husband, Clair, and two other couples re-opened in 1951. Mrs. Shaffer was an active member for 52 years, holding various offices and helping whenever there was something to do. She was dearly loved by the members of the church who even traveled to Lewisburg to meet with her at the Country Cupboard Restaurant.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy J. Brininger and husband, Elwood, of R.R. 1 Beech Creek; a son, Clair Shaffer Jr. and wife, Brenda, of R.R. 1 Sunbury; a brother, Joseph C. Kitchen Jr. and wife, Delores, of Mackeyville; a sister, Betty Bartges of Madisonburg; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Louella was a Christian, born again through faith in the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, and now resides in Heaven with Clair Sr., and many family members and friends. She is dearly loved and sorely missed.
Services will be Monday, Aug. 23, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home Inc. with visitation from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
Memorials may be made to the Mackeyville Church of Christ.
Marion E. Snyder
Marion E. Snyder, 86, of 619 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, died Friday, Aug. 20, 2004 in the Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit.
Born May 24, 1918 in Mill Hall, she was the daughter of Grover Seyler and the former Ethel Masden.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas E. Snyder on Oct. 9, 1991. They were united in marriage Aug. 27, 1941 in Jersey Shore.
She was active in the Jersey Shore Senior Center and was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels.
Surviving are a son, Thomas E. Snyder of Horseshoe Bay, Texas; two daughters, Patricia A. Bowman of Mill Hall and Edith M. Hanley of Jersey Shore; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchilden; nine step-great-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clair Seyler and Richard Seyler, both of Mill Hall; and five sisters, Helen Rogers of Lock Haven, Geraldine Ishler of Bellefonte, Betty Brooks of Beech Creek, Shirley Decker of Lock Haven and Marchua Weaver of Mill Hall.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004 at 11 a.m. in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Friends may call from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. Rev. Theodore Van Schoick will officiate.
Luther 'Glenn' Young
Luther 'Glenn' Young, 63, of Dogwood Drive, Lock Haven, went to be with the Lord in the comfort of his home on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004.
Born in Hublersburg on Oct. 19, 1940, he was the son of the late James C. and Helen (Harter) Young.
Glenn married the former Mary Lou Eichenlaub on Nov. 25, 1959 at the East Main Street Methodist Church in Lock Haven.
Glenn was a committed Christian who demonstrated his faith through his willingness to help anyone in need. He was a devoted husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather. His family meant everything to him.
Glenn was an avid sportsmen and skilled craftsman. He enjoyed hunting, NASCAR races, woodworking and antique restoration.
He was a member of the Southern Clinton County Sportsmen Association and the N.R.A. He was a 1958 graduate of Bellefonte High School.
Glenn was a member of the Nippenose Bible Fellowship, where he served on the church leadership team. He was employed by the Pennsylvania College of Technology.
In addition to his wife, Glenn is survived by his two daughter, Shawnda L. McCoy (Steve) of Lock Haven and Savonna R. Flick (Wade) of Philipsburg; two grandsons, Shawn K. Bower of Philipsburg and Reagan G. McCoy of Lock Haven; two step-grandchildren, Robert and Julie Flick of Bellefonte; two sisters, Virginia Meyer of Lamar and Mildred (Lloyd) Rogers of Zion; four brothers, James C. (Phyllis) Young of Zion, Dale (Norma) Young of Lamar, Theodore (Helen) Young of Runville and Haldane Young of Howard and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall, with the Rev. David McCoy, his pastor, officiating. Friends and relatives will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. Interment will be in Jacksonville Cemetery. Arthur R. Seiffert
Arthur R. Seiffert, 78, of 326 Washington Ave., Jersey Shore, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004 in the Jersey Shore Hospital.
He was born in Mt. Vernon, N.Y. on Nov. 27, 1925, a son of Rudolph and Esther Laine Seiffert.
He married the former Maxine Zerbe on Feb. 14, 1948, and she survives.
He was employed over 33 years with Bethlehem Steel, retiring as a machine operator.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Jersey Shore. He was a life member and past exalted ruler of the Jersey Shore BPOE Lodge No. 1057.
During World War II, he served in the maritime service with the Merchant Marines.
He enjoyed hunting.
Besides his wife, Maxine, he is survived by one daughter, Candace J. O'Connor of Hughesville; two sons, Paul A. Seiffert of Jersey Shore and Jeffery A. Seiffert of Pittsburgh; a sister, Gertrude Lanni of Cinnaminson, N.J.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by three brothers.
Art's life celebration will begin with a visitation on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. from the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 'A Life Celebration Home,' 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore. Funeral services will follow on Wednesday at the funeral home at 1 p.m. with Rev. Ralph Heagy officiating. Burial will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery. An Elks service will be held Tuesday at the visitation.
Shirley M. Speicher
Shirley M. Speicher, 72, of Allegheny Road, Manns Choice, died at 10:05 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004, at home.
Born in Juniata Twp., Bedford County, on Saturday, Feb. 20, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Louise (Robb) Hillegass.
She was a housewife.
She was the wife of Meredith D. Speicher, whom she married on July 26, 1952.
She was a member of the Christ Victory Church, New Buena Vista.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Richard L., husband of Marie (Wartella) Speicher, of Jersey Shore and David D., husband of of Carla (Becquet) Speicher of Hopewell; a sister, Lois E., wife of Foy, of Manns Choice; numerous nieces and nephews; and five grandchildren, Richard, Julia, John, Sean and Michelle Skowronski.
Funeral services will be at the Christ Victory Church at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. Kerry Cathers officiating. Interment will be in Schellsburg Cemetery, Schellsburg. Friends are invited to call today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg, and Wednesday from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at Christ Victory Church.
Rev. David E. Kemberling
The Rev. David E. Kemberling, 77, of Selinsgrove, went to be with his Lord at 8:02 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004, at the Penn Lutheran Village, where he had lived since March 15, 1999.
He was born April 29, 1927 on the Isle of Que, Selinsgrove, a son of the late Eugene and Lottie (Maurer) Kemberling, who were the founders of the Dutch Pantry Restaurants.
He was a 1944 graduate of Selinsgrove High School, a 1951 graduate of Lycoming College and a 1956 graduate of Westminster Seminary, Maryland.
Rev. Kemberling served in the Navy during World War II and began his ministry with the Methodist Episcopal Church and then the Evangelical United Brethren Church. He retired from the United Methodist Church.
He served charges in Millville, Catawissa, Curwensville, State College, Jersey Shore, Altoona, Burnham, Liverpool and Fort-Loudon-Edenville, before retiring in 1990 after 41 years in the pastorate.
Rev. Kemberling was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Selinsgrove.
His favorite hobby was photography.
Surviving are three sons and three daughters-in-law, Stephen and Leslie Kemberling of Seattle, Wash., Philip and Kathy Kemberling of Danville and Mark and Sherri Kemberling of Eagle River, Alaska; one daughter, Kristel Kemberling of Seattle; six grandchildren and one sister, Rebecca Weirick of Selinsgrove.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jess Kemberling and Dr. Sidney Kemberling.
Visitors may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove. The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 300 Rhoads Ave., Selinsgrove, with the Rev. Donald C. Rowe officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Union Cemetery, Selinsgrove.

Ernest H. Dawes Sr.
Ernest H. Dawes Sr., 53, of 115 S. Fairview St., Lock Haven, died Aug. 23, 2004 at his home.
Born April 27, 1951 in Lock Haven, he was the son of Helen Dawes of Lock Haven and the late Arthur Dawes Sr.
He was married to Geneva I. Jeirles Dawes, who survives.
He was a U.S. Marine veteran, and a member of the V.F.W. and Castanea Fire Hall.
Also surviving are a son, Ernest H. Dawes Jr. of Lock Haven; two daughters, Chrissie Earl of Virginia and Susan M. Dawes of Lock Haven; two brothers, Arthur Dawes Jr. and James Dawes; three sisters, Beverly Richardson, Beulah Auman and Helen Baney, and one grandchild.
Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 30, 2004 at the Salvation Army Citadel. There will be no visitation.
Weldon U. Lumadue
Weldon U. Lumadue, 82, of Beech Creek, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004 at Lock Haven Extended Care Facility.
Born Nov. 21, 1921 in West Decatur, he was the son of the late George M. and Mary E. Lansberry Lumadue.
He was married to Isabelle Powell on Aug. 14, 1943. She survives at home.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II.
Mr. Weldon was a self-employed welder in Clinton County since 1964. Prior to that, he lived and worked in the Phillipsburg area.
He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Blanchard.
Surviving are two sons, John W. of Beech Creek and D. Mark of Taylor, S.C.; a sister, Dora Moore of Orchard Park, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Weldon and his wife raised three grandchildren, Dawn Smith, Raymond Homan and Nicole Barauskas.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Marilyn Kathleen Homan; five sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27 in the W. Robert Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main St., Howard. Pastor Troy Kerstetter will officiate. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Schencks Cemetery, Howard Township.

Thomas E. Walker Sr.
Thomas E. Walker Sr., 66, of 220 Railroad St., Jersey Shore, went to be with his Lord on Monday, Aug. 23, 2004 in Jersey Shore Hospital.
He was born Jan. 29, 1938 and was the son of Thomas E. and Dorothy Blair Walker.
Tom was married to the former Tammy Koch who survives.
He was the former owner of West Branch Collision and was a truck driver.
Tom was a former member of the BPOE No. 1057, Moose Lodge No. 214 and the Castanea Fire Company.
He enjoyed his family, the outdoors and fixing up his home.
Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Thomas Walker Jr. of Rauchtown, Zachary Mauck-Walker of Haneyville and Zebulin Mauck-Walker of Jersey Shore; three daughters, Sherry Wohlers of Cogan Station, Dorothy Klinger and Lyndsey 'Toot' Walker, both of Jersey Shore; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
He was predeceased by one daughter, Lori, in 1967.
A celebration of Tom's life will begin Thursday with a visitation from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home Ltd., 'A Life Celebration Home,' 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Baker officiating. Interment will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Central Pa. Chapter, 3607 Rosemont Ave., Suite 404 Camp Hill, Pa. 17011.
