Katrina Marie Clark
Katrina Marie Clark, 23, of 33803 Centerville Road, Centerville, died Friday, April 6, 2001, at Butler Hospital, Butler, where she was life-flighted following a sudden illness.
Born Jan. 14, 1978, in Phoenix, she was a daughter of Rebecca Louise Stearns Clark. She never married.
A homemaker, she enjoyed reading, puzzles and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her mother, Rebecca Walker, and her stepfather, Daniel Roy Walker, with whom she made her home; two sisters, Danielle Marie Walker and Sarah Sue Walker, both at home; her paternal grandmother, Patricia Ann Cory of Meadville; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
There will be no calling hours.
Memorial services will be Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the little Cooley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sarah Roncolata officiating.

Marguerite J. (Marge) Harry
FRANKLIN - Marguerite J. (Marge) Harry, 65, of R.D. 3, Franklin, died Friday, April 6, 2001, at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie.
Born Jan. 22, 1936, in Framingham, Mass., she was a daughter of Wilfred F. and Emily Paradis. On April 15, 1954, she married Wayne E. Harry, who preceded her in death April 22, 1998.
She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, Franklin Post 476.
A homemaker, she enjoyed playing bingo and enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Dale Harry and his wife, Theresa, and Gerald Harry and his wife, Judy, all of Franklin; and four grandchildren, Jennifer Beers, Trish Worst, Marcia Strautnieks and Melissa Harry.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Rita Kelly and Marie Miller; a son, Stephen Harry; and a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Harry.

William D. Humphrey
GREENVILLE - William D. Humphrey, 79, of 553 Fredonia Road, Greenville, died Friday, April 6, 2001, at UPMC Horizon in Greenville.
Born Feb. 8, 1925, in Greenville, he was a son of Emerson and Hattie (Houselton) Humphrey.
On Dec. 6, 1960, he married Tethel F. Hays.
In 1985, he retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 30 years as a rural postal carrier. He also worked for the former Greenville Steel Car for 25 years as a machine operator. In addition, he was a mechanic for the former Stevenson Motors in Greenville.
He attended Jerusalem United Church of Christ in Greenville.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and taking walks through the woods.
He and his wife dedicated time to recycling, volunteering for Mercer County Recycling.
In addition to his wife of 40 years, survivors include a son, William E. Humphrey and his wife, Linda, of Greenville; two daughters, Jaunita Walls of Conneaut Lake and Sally Humphrey-Giles and her husband, Robert, of Greenville; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Leonard (Edith) Miller of Greenville and Mrs. Ernest (Erma) Clark of Hadley.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Humphrey; one sister, Helen Marini; a daughter, Patricia Wooley; and his first wife, Christina (Cindy) Anthony.

John. W. Racey
RICHMOND, Ohio - John W. Racey, 90, of 3472 State Route 7, Richmond, Ohio, died Friday, April 6, 2001, at his home.
Born Nov. 2, 1910, in Richmond, he was a son of William J. and Myrtle Gibbs Racey. On Sept. 19, 1936, he married Lola I. Falkenburg, who preceded him in death Jan. 13, 2001.
A life-long resident of Richmond, he was a potato farmer for 43 years with the former Shellito's farm, now the Boleratz farm.
He was a member of the Richmond United Methodist Church.
He enjoyed gardening, bird watching, cats and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Charles W. Racey and his wife, Virginia, of Conneaut, Ohio; one daughter, Norma J. Thompson and her husband, Duane, of Linesville; two grandsons, John R. Racey and Dale D. Thompson; four granddaughters, Debbie M. Maze, Mechele L. Stuper, Tammy R. Racey and Kathy A. Wight; 12 great-grandchildren; one nephew; and two nieces.

Victor L. Wise
Victor L. Wise, 68, of Louisville, Ky., died Friday, April 6, 2000, at his home.
A native of Meadville, he was a member of the Little House Baptist Church.
An army veteran who served in the Korean conflict, he retired as a lot manager for Tri-City Oldsmobile.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; two sons, Michael L. and Gary A. Wise; two daughters, Doreen L. Hampton and Laura E. Ratterman; one brother, Bernard M. Wise; a sister, Iris L. Williams; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Calling hours are from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville.
The funeral service will be at noon Tuesday at the funeral home.

Charles W. Marsteller
CONNEAUTVILLE - Charles W. Marsteller, 78, died Thursday, April 5, 2001, at Rolling Fields, Conneautville.
Born at Sandy Lake June 29, 1922, he was a son of William P. and Alice Stone Marsteller. He married Irene Heffern Aug. 29, 1942.
A veteran of World War II, he retired from Ohio Rubber in Conneautville after working there from 1956 to 1986.
He was a member of United Presbyterian Church of the Redeemer of Meadville, where he was an elder and Sunday school teacher. He was also a member of Conneautville American Legion.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of 58 years, include a son, Donald E. Marsteller and his wife, Dianna, of Downers Grove, Ill.; a daughter, Ronda Marsteller Deitch and her husband, Charles, of Mooresville, N.C.; four grandchildren, Douglas, Dean and Dwayne Marsteller, and Steven Deitch; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Jean Hassan of Pittsburgh; and a brother, C. Richard Marsteller of Sandy Lake and his wife, Dana.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffery Charles Deitch.

Richard T. Gill
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Lt. Col. Richard T. Gill, 72, retired, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001 at Colorado Springs.
He was born in Grove City Aug. 26, 1928, a son of Ray and Gladys Gills Gill. He married Billie J. Joyce Feb. 15, 1955. He was a resident of Colorado Springs from 1991 to 2001.
He served for more than 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and retired Nov. 30, 1969 with the rank of lieutenant colonel.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of 46 years, include three daughters, Patti Hurt of Jacksonville, Fla., Teri Cappellucci of Monument, Colo., and Leslie Corey of Littleton, Colo.; eight grandchildren; two brothers, James and Donald Gill, both of Meadville; and three sisters, Dorothy Wood of Cochranton, Connie Merchbaker of Meadville and Sue Riley of Erie.
Private services were in Mountain View Mortuary, 2350 Montebello Square Drive, Colorado Springs.

Dawn M. Carpenter
Dawn M. Carpenter, 40, of 11146 Saeger Lane, Meadville, died Thursday, April 5, 2001, at Meadville Medical Center.
She was born in Meadville Feb. 11, 1961, a daughter of Donald E. and Mary Edna Caskey Beck. She had been married to Randy L. Carpenter.
Employed by Meadville Medical Center, she had attended Conneaut Lake High School.
She enjoyed life and her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her parents, of Meadville; a daughter, Mandi Marie Latsko of Meadville; a son, Sean Carpenter, at home; two grandsons, Matthew and Kevin Lusier; a sister, Cheryl Harry of Conneaut Lake; a brother, Walter R. Beck of Meadville; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald R. Beck; and her grandparents, Walter and Audrey Beck and Robert and Matilda Caskey.

Russell D. Freyermuth
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Russell D. Freyermuth, 84, a 47-year resident of Albuquerque, N.M., died Friday, March 23, 2001.
He was born March 15, 1917 on a farm near Meadville, a son of Daniel J. and Gertrude M. Shilling Freyermuth.
He was a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a degree in industrial engineering. He served in World War II as a combat fighter pilot with the 14th Fighter Group flying P-38 Lightnings, and later with the 363rd Fighter Group flying P-51 Mustangs. The U.S. Air Force (formerly the U.S. Army Air Corps) awarded him several decorations and gave him credit for 77 combat missions. He retired as an Air Force colonel and from Sandia National Laboratories in 1977.
He was a charter member and elder of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque, lifetime member of the Penn State Alumni Association, member of the New Mexico Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association, member of the Air Force Association and a founding member of the American Air Museum in Britain.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Geraldine; three children, John and his wife, Carolyn, of Las Cruces, N.M., Lee Ann Calhoun and her husband, Thomas, of Manassas, Calif., and Thomas and his wife, Patty, of Corrales, N.M.; four granddaughters; a stepgrandson; a stepgranddaughter; a brother, Wesley Freyermuth and his wife, Mary Jane, of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth, in 1974.
Cremation has taken place.
The memorial service was March 29 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, Albuquerque.
Burial followed in Santa Fe National Cemetery with full military honors.

Robert D. Acker
VENANGO - Robert D. Acker, 83, of 21784 Erie St., Venango, for the past several years, died Thursday, April 5, 2001, at Meadville Medical Center following a brief illness. For most of his life he maintained residences in Sebring, Fla., and Vail, Colo.
Born in Venango July 31, 1917, he was a son of George D. and Mildred Lilly Acker. He never married.
Following his graduation from Cambridge Springs High School in 1935 where he was active in sports, particularly baseball, he attended the University of Ohio in Athens for three years pursuing a degree in petroleum engineering. He became a veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a fighter pilot.
Following the war, he worked for several years at Talon Inc. in Meadville and then until the late 1950s as personnel manager at Mesta Inc. in New Castle. He then began a career of golf course management, first as owner of a course in Georgia and then for a number of years as a manager at South Hampton National Golf Course in Long Island, N.Y. In recent years, he was employed by Charley's Shirt Company in Vail.
He belonged to American Legion Post 381 in Cambridge Springs and Venango Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 169 in Venango. He also belonged to Covenant Masonic Lodge 473 in Cambridge Springs and Scottish Rite Bodies, Erie Consistory.
Survivors include two brothers, James F. Acker of Venango and Jack L. Acker of Bulger.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy J. Acker; and a brother, George Gerald Acker.

Ora Hunter Fultz
Ora Hunter Fultz, 85, formerly of Holland Towers, Meadville, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at Meadville Medical Center.
Born in Arbovale, W.Va., Aug. 18, 1915, he was a son of Jessie and Etta Mae Hinkle Fultz.
He retired from Talon Inc. Plant No. 5 in August 1977 after 37 years.
He was a life member of the Meadville Club.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Verna Tracy; and two brothers, Jessie and Woodrow Fultz.
There will be no services.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Harmonsburg.

William E. Reed
William E. Reed, 72, formerly of 480 Hartz Ave., Meadville, and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community since June 26, died there Tuesday, April 3, 2001.
He was born in Bentleyville Oct. 3, 1928, a son of Albert Evans and Anna Deems Reed. He married Marion Roach Oct. 26, 1945.
In 1956, he and his brother opened and operated Reed's Amoco on Washington Street and subsequently opened Reed's United at North and Liberty streets, and Reed's Gulf Station in the Park Avenue Plaza. He opened and operated Mr. Donut in Meadville Feb. 17, 1970, with his business partner Norm Sundstrom. They subsequently opened Mr. Donut stores in Edinboro and Myrtle Beach, S.C., retiring in 1992.
He was a life member of Meadville Sertoma Club and Meadville Elks Lodge 219. He was a former member of the Meadville Country Club, Happy Hashers Square Dance Club and Meadville High School Basketball Boosters. He was the recipient of the first Outstanding Citizen Award in 1970 from Meadville Area Chamber of Commerce for his active participation in many youth activities.
He loved golf and especially taking golf trips to Myrtle Beach.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of 55 years, include two daughters, Donna Giles and her husband, Carey, of Saegertown, and Darilynn (Lynn) Luzier of Saegertown; a son, Dean Reed of Meadville; six grandchildren, Pamela Ryder, Bill Novak, and David, Kelly, Lynsey and Christopher Luzier; two step grandchildren, Darren Giles and Kimberly Snyder; five great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nora Pemberton, and Amanda Harsch and her husband, Jim, all of Cleveland; and two brothers, Albert (Bud) Reed of Sun Valley, Ariz., and Milton Reed and his wife, Edna, of Fruita, Colo.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Elizabeth Waid, Sara Smith Brown and Martha Meadville.
The funeral is today at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. David R. Hosick of First Presbyterian Church officiating.
Burial will be in Beallsville Cemetery, Washington County.

Lynda Jane Kerlin
CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS - Lynda Jane Kerlin, 57, of 325 Center St., Cambridge Springs, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001 at Saint Vincent Health Center, Erie.
Born in Erie June 17, 1944, she was a daughter of Dorothy Wagner and Joseph Wawrzyniak-Wagner. She married Jack Kerlin Oct. 9, 1976. She had lived in Cambridge Springs for the past 25 years.
A homemaker, she enjoyed gardening, interior decorating, cooking, reading and especially her family and children.
Survivors, in addition to her husband of 24 years, include her mother of Edinboro; two daughters, Danielle Bartone and Jessica Kerlin, both of Cambridge Springs; two sons, Curtis Bartone and his wife, Pamela Warren, of Chicago, Ill., and Jeffrey Bartone of Indiana, Pa.; three step children, John Kerlin of Meadville, Karla Kerlin-Torres and her husband, Rick, of Los Angeles, Calif., and Tony Kerlin of Erie; three grandchildren; a sister, Olivia McCoy of Terra Lynda, Calif.; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her father.

Margaret Louise Fahr Kirkpatrick
Margaret Louise Fahr Kirkpatrick, 76, of Concord House, Golfview Manor, Meadville, formerly of Tucson, Ariz. died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Meadville Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Meadville Dec. 24, 1924, a daughter of Herman Fahr and Carolyn B. Arthur. Upon the death of Herman Fahr, she was adopted by William C. Arthur.
She grew up in Meadville, attended finishing school at the House of the Pines, and graduated from Meadville High School.
A homemaker, she was a devoted mother and grandmother, an avid lover of animals and volunteer for the American Cancer Society.
Survivors include two sons, T.E. (Tim) Kirkpatrick II and his wife, Luann, of Meadville, and Bruce H. Kirkpatrick and his wife, Nancy, of Danville, Calif.; four grandchildren, Monnie Fahr Kirkpatrick, Maile Louise Kirkpatrick, Conor William Kirkpatrick and Kelley Anna Kirkpatrick; and two step-brothers, William C. Arthur Jr. of Jaffrey, N.H., and Dr. James Arthur of Aurora, Colo.

James T. Welsh
PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. - James T. Welsh, 87, of 6820 SW 16th Street,Pembroke Pines, Fla. died Monday, March 26, 2001. He was a resident of the Linesville area for 35 years prior to moving to Florida.
He graduated from Slippery Rock State Teachers College in 1937 and received his Masters in Education from West Minister College. He was employed in the Linesville Conneaut Summit School System. Prior to him becoming the guidance counselor at Linesville High School, he taught physical education as well as algebra. He was instrumental in the development of the Linesville High School May Gym Show and coached volleyball.
He was a member of the Linesville Pine Lodge 498 as well as the Solomon Royal Arch Chapter No. 191, Royal Arch Masons, Meadville. He was a member of Zem Zem Shrine Club in Erie.
In addition to his wife of 60 years Sarah Walker Welsh, he is survived by a son, James C. of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; two daughters, Susan Stranahan and her husband, Gary, of Union, Mich., and Betsy Welsh of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; and a grandchild, Jami Stranahan.

James Russell Roberts
SANDY LAKE - James Russell Roberts, 59, of 374 Lake Road, Sandy Lake, Millcreek Township, died Tuesday, April 3 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born in Geneva Oct. 19, 1941, he was a son of Malcolm E. and Florence B. Pfaff Roberts. He married Dianne K. Fisher Aug. 2, 1973.
He was a graduate of Lakeview High School. Self-employed as a saw mill operator, he was talented with the ability to straighten and sharpen the large-diameter saw mill blades. He was a supervisor for Millcreek Township.
He was a member of Sheakleyville Church of the Nazarene.
A Hadley Rod and Gun Club member, he enjoyed hunting and was an avid NASCAR fan, previously owning and racing his own stock car at Mercer Speedway.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of 27 years, include two daughters, Barbara O'Hara and her husband, Robert, of Oil City, and Laura McNany and her husband, Greg, of Emlenton; four sons, Michael Davison of Sheakleyville, and Jason Roberts, Jonathan Roberts and Jeremy Roberts, all of Sandy Lake; four grandchildren, Brandon Harrah, Jami Harrah, Kenton McNany and Ashton McNany; two sisters, Gloria Davison and her husband, John, of Hadley, and Jane Polick and her husband, David, of Jackson Center; and a brother, Merlin Roberts and his companion, Mae Taylor, of Utica.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Lois June Robinson
SAEGERTOWN - Lois June Robinson, 75, formerly of 19365 Boone St., Meadville, and a resident of Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown, died Monday, April 2, 2001, at her residence.
Born in Pittsburgh Nov. 17, 1925, she was a daughter of Jerry O. and Gertrude J. McGurk Fulkerson. She married Thomas Robinson June 21, 1950, and he preceded her in death Sept. 18, 1995.
She had been employed at the former Meadville Talon Employees Credit Union, retiring in 1989.
She was a member of St. Agatha's Roman Catholic Church in Meadville, and a former member of West Mead 1 Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas Michael Robinson and his wife, Cindy, of Linesville, and Robert John Robinson and his wife, Linda, of Cochranton; a daughter, Lois Jean Stein and her husband, Dallas, of Meadville; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Norma Campbell of Franklin.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Elma Coulter, LaVerne Green and Mae Hovis; a brother, Jerry Fulkerson; and a great-granddaughter, Kayla Robinson.

Blanche L. Say
GROVE CITY - Blanche L. Say, 94, of Trinity Living Center (formerly Buchanan Commons), Grove City, since October 1999, formerly of Harrisville and Zelienople, died Monday, April 2, 2001, at United Community Hospital, Pine Township, Mercer County.
Born in Clay Township, Butler County, Jan. 13, 1907, she was a daughter of Mossie E. and Pearl M. Tebay Grossman. She married Asa William (Bill) Say Dec. 6, 1922. He preceded her in death Feb. 23, 1965.
A homemaker, she helped her husband in his auto business.
She was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, Slippery Rock Township, its women's missionary society and the adult Sunday school class.
She was also a member of Grove City Order of the Eastern Star 86 and White Shrine of Jerusalem Grove City Chapter 53.
An avid gardener, she was also very active in needlework.
Survivors include three daughters, Pearl B. Hughes Kilpatrick and her husband, James W., of Butler, Betty S. Waechter and her husband, Eugene H., of Overland Park, Kan., and Margie C. Thompson and her husband, Glenn W., of Meadville; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, P. Mae Faith of Worthington and Margie R. Thompson of Butler.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert W. Say and Clarence A. Say; a sister and two brothers.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Jamison Funeral Home, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville.
The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jack D. Patterson, retired minister, officiating.

June M. Drake
June M. Drake, 65, formerly of Water Street, Meadville, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Meadville Medical Center.
She was born in Townville Aug. 30, 1935, a daughter of Morris Earl and Carol Sybrant Drake.
A graduate of Townville High School, she was a secretary with Carpenter Electric for seven years. She then worked at Penelec for 27 years and retired in 1991.
She enjoyed crocheting afghans, photography and traveling.
Survivors include her mother of Townville; two sisters, Joan M. Drake Bentley of Laurel, Md., and Janet M. Chris and her husband, Bill, of Spartansburg; a brother, Gary M. Drake and his wife, Dottie, of Townville; a sister, Judy M. Glasgow and her husband, Rusty, of Baltimore, Md.; and seven nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.

Edna Evelyn Schroer
COCHRANTON - Edna Evelyn Schroer, 85, of 22647 State Highway 285, Cochranton, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown.
She was born in Summit Township April 15, 1915, a daughter of Homer and Grace Gerard Consla. She married John J. Schroer July 15, 1937, and he preceded her in death March 31, 1990.
A homemaker, she enjoyed taking care of her yard and dancing at the senior citizen center.
Survivors include a daughter, Janis Friend and her husband, Robert, of Pinellas Park, Fla.; two sons, Raymond Schroer and his wife, Shirley, of Hadley, and Robert Schroer of Cochranton; eight grandchildren, Tracie Aitken, Vicki Mitchell, Michael Schroer, Lori Sindlinger, Patty Alcorns and Christy Burchill, and their spouses, and Jon J. Schroer and Eric Schroer; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Merritt Consla.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Roofner-Collins Funeral Home Inc., 544 Chestnut St., Meadville.
The church service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joseph C. Rial, retired Methodist minister, officiating.

Helen O'Connell
Helen O'Connell, 78, of 557 Chestnut St., Meadville, and formerly of Reading, died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at Cribbs Home of Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community.
Born in New York, N.Y., May 13, 1922, she was a daughter of Impolis and Blanche Zukas Baltrusaitis. She married Dennis O'Connell Aug. 11, 1950. He preceded her in death March 11, 1995.
She received her master's and bachelor's degrees in business administration from City College, New York.
As director of personnel for Rockwood Corp. in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was a member of one of the first white-collar unions. She was also secretary in the architectural firm of Kahler and Kahler in Milwaukee, Wis., and worked as assistant to the borough secretary in Morris Plains, N.J.
She attended St. Catherine Church of Siena in Reading.
She enjoyed New York theater and shopping, reading, walking and spending time in the sun. Nothing was more important to her than being with friends and family.
Survivors include two daughters, Deirdre Kingen and her husband, Ted, of Meadville, and Barbara O'Connell of Weston, Conn.; two grandchildren, Matthew and Autumn Kingen; a sister, Alga Gabriel of Olympia, Wash.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
There are no calling hours.
There will be a private service at a later date.

Rev. Earl Emerson Roberts
GREENVILLE - The Rev. Earl Emerson Roberts, 89, of White Cliff Nursing Home, 110 Fredonia Road, Greenville, and formerly of Adamsville, died Monday, April 2, 2001, at White Cliff.
Born in Fredonia July 15, 1911, he was a son of Samuel and Anna Coulter Roberts. He married Beryl Youngblood 68 years ago.
He retired from the former Chicago Bridge and Iron Co. after 37 years as a machinist.
He was a member of Greenville Church of the Nazarene. An ordained minister with the Association of Fundamental Ministries and Churches, he was a member of the Greenville Ministerial Association. He was the retired pastor of Rambling Acres Camping Association and the Rambling Recs Camping Club. He was the supply pastor for several local churches, and held church services for many years at White Cliff.
He enjoyed gardening, camping traveling and reading.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of 68 years of Greenville, include two sons, Arden Roberts of New Castle and Edward Roberts of Cochranton; four daughters, Beverly Miller and her husband, C.R, Millie Carlson and her husband, Robert, Audrey Snodgrass, and Janet Scannell and her husband, Rodney, all of Greenville; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Grant Earl Roberts; a grandson, Rusty Roberts; a brother, Joseph Roberts; and a sister, Delores Buck.

Lena Luper
CONNEAUT LAKE - Lena Luper, 87, of 11745 Oakwood Road, Conneaut Lake, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at Rolling Fields after a long illness.
Born April 19, 1913 in Uniontown, she was a daughter of Frank and Annie Machulka Malik. She married George B. Luper Feb. 26, 1934. He preceded her in death Jan. 22, 1987.
She was an honorary life member of the Harmonsburg Volunteer Fire Department auxiliary.
She enjoyed making ceramics and was an instructor in the Harmonsburg area.
She was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Sally Luper; a son, George B. Luper Jr. and his wife, Gloria, of Conneaut Lake; three brothers, Charles Malik of Lehigh Acres, Fla., Harry Malik and Alfred Malik, both of Uniontown; four grandchildren; three great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Edith Robinson.
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family at Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Corner of Lakeview United Methodist Church officiating.

William Fred Sandy
William Fred Sandy, 79, of Circle West, Meadville, died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Erie.
He was born July 17, 1921, in Akron, Ohio, a son of Howard H. and Margaret Luce Sandy. He married Marjorie Yim Oct. 23, 1943.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and was a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor in World War II, serving then as a sergeant at Wheeler Field, Oahu.
He had been employed as a salesman at various car dealers and at Lake Road Trailer Sales.
He was a 32nd degree Mason, Crawford Lodge 234 and Valley of Erie, and was a past president of the Pennsylvania Pearl Harbor Survivors.
He was affiliated with Watson Run Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years; a sister, Eleanor Allen of Maryland; three nieces; five great-nieces; two great-nephews; three great-great-nieces; and one great-great-nephew.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home and Crematory, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville.
Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
Dana R. Hoffman
CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS - Dana R. Hoffman, 43, of Cambridge Springs, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001.
He was born in Erie Nov. 17, 1957, a son of Don and Opal Hoffman. He married Lynda Clonan, who preceded him in death in April 1997. He subsequently married Cecile Przekop Aug. 15, 1998.
He was employed by Standard Manufactured Home Sales of Erie.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his parents of Cambridge Springs; six children, Mary Frontera, Martha Stewart, Wesley and Benjamin Hoffman, and Lisa and David Barbieri; three grandchildren; and five brothers, Rod and Lance Hoffman of Greenville, Bradley Hoffman of Springboro, Kirk Hoffman of Lancaster and Robert Hoffman of Albion.
The memorial service will be Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Cambridge Springs Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, 412 McClellan St.
