Bryant N. Artz
ELIZABETHVILLE - Bryant N. Artz, 62, of 210 Park Drive, died Monday, June 7 at Harrisburg Hospital.
He was a rural carrier for the U.S. Post Office for more than 20 years, and also worked for 20 years for the former Nedrich Shirt Co. in Elizabethville.
He served as treasurer for the Maple Grove Cemetery Association in Elizabethville and was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Elizabethville; Gratz VFW Post No. 2385; Elizabethville American Legion No. 404; and Millersburg Moose Lodge No. 59. He was a life member with Reliance Hose Co No. 1 in Elizabethville, and served for 15 years as treasurer of Medic 6, also in Elizabethville.
Surviving are his wife, Elaine M. Brosius Artz; a son, Kirby L. Artz of Harrisburg; a daughter, Kelly L. Stoneroad of Elizabethville; and three grand-
children.
Services were held June 11 from Hoover Funeral Home in Elizabethville. Burial was in Gratz Union Cemetery in Gratz.

Mary J. Johns
GRATZ - Mary J. Johns, 75, died Thursday, June 10 at Sunbury Community Hospital.
Born July 26, 1928 in Wiconisco, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Edna Shadle Waters, and was a graduate of the former Wiconisco High School.
She was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Loyalton.
Surviving are her husband, Marlin E. Johns; three sons, Stan of Elizabethville, Ray of Gratz and Roger of Van Alstyne, Tex.; three brothers, Mark and George Waters, both of Wiconisco, and David Waters of Lykens; two sisters, Cleo Malone of Millersburg and Gail Waters of Clarks Valley; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held June 15 from Maple Grove Cemetery in Elizabethville.

Wanda M. Miller
TOWER CITY - Wanda M. Miller, 34, of 105 W. Fourth St., died Sunday at her home.
Born Nov. 16, 1969 in Pottsville, she was the daughter of Kenneth R. Underkoffler Sr. of Tower City and Sharon R. Unger Stoneroad of Halifax.
She was employed as a data entry specialist with Synertech in Harrisburg and was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Reinerton.
She served as vice president of the Williams Valley Mat Rats Elementary Wrestling boosters.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are her husband Troy A. Miller; a son, Shaun at home; a sister, Teri A. Yuschock of Tower City; a brother, Kenneth Underkoffler Jr. of Lykens; a step-father, Roger Stoneroad of Halifax; two step-sisters, Shannon Lyndstadt of Florida and Victoria Underkoffler of Tower City; three step-brothers, Corey and Roger Stoneroad, both of Millersburg; and James Stoneroad of Florida; nephews; a niece; and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 16 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc. in Tower City. Burial will be in the St. Peters Cemetery in Orwin.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel.

Fern Alfretta Scheib
VALLEY VIEW - Fern Alfretta Scheib, 77, of 300 W. Main St., Tremont, formerly of Valley View, died Wednesday, June 9 at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born Oct. 1, 1926 in Valley View, she was the daughter of the late Simon and Verda Underkoffler Romberger.
She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Tremont and Tremont Area Senior Citizens.
She was the widow of Vernon E. Scheib, and also was preceded in death by a son, Warren V.; and a step-sister, Carol Zerbe. Surviving are two daughters, Darlene K. Bettinger of Tremont and Marie E. Cooper of Chambersburg; a son, Brian L. Scheib of Schuylkill Haven; three brothers, Clair and Dean Romberger, both of Harrisburg, and Lamar Romberger of Tremont; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grand-
daughter.
Funeral services were held June 12 from Buffington-Reed Funeral Home in Valley View. Burial was in United Methodist Cemetery in Tremont.

Carrie A. Ossman
MILLERSBURG - Carrie A. Ossman, 64, of 403 Moore Street, died Friday, June 11 at Holy Spirit Hospital.
Born in Hunter Station, she was the daughter of the late Raymond C. and Sara Harris Walborn Sr.
She had worked in the past as a baker for the former Hales Market in Halifax and was a member of Reigle's Bible Fellowship Church in Millersburg, where she served as nursery coordinator.
She was the widow of Edward L. Ossman.
Surviving are two sons, David L. Hoover of Carlisle and Dale L. Hoover of Danville; a brother, Ray C. Walborn of Long Valley, Nev.; and a grandson.
Services will be held Tuesday, June 15 at 3 p.m. from her church. Burial will be in Reigle's Bible Fellowship Cemetery, Millersburg.
Viewing will be at the church Tuesday from 2 to 3 p.m.

LYKENS - Betty M. Welker, 330 North St., died Monday, June 7 at Susquehanna Lutheran Village in Millersburg.
Born in Williamstown, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Laura Schell Garber.
Surviving are her husband, Kenneth M. Welker; a daughter, Deb Henry; two sisters, Dorothy Baddorf and Delores Nau; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at the convenience of the family.

Eileen Marie Mattis
ELIZABETHVILLE - Eileen Marie Mattis, 73, of 425 W. Market St., died Saturday, June 5 at her home.
Born Jan. 21, 1931 in Lykens Twp., she was the daughter of the late Mark Carl and Alvesta Troutman Klinger, and was a graduate of Elizabethville High School Class of 1948.
She was a housewife and a member of Miracle Revival Church in Coaldale; and Reliance Hose Co. No. 1.
She was the widow of Bright Mattis, and also was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest Nelson Dietrich. Surviving are a daughter, Millie Mae Webster of Lykens RD; a son, Mark Dietrich of Harrisburg; a sister, Francis Chomper of Elizabethville; a brother, Carl Klinger of King of Prussia; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 21 at 1 p.m. from her church. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Elizabethville.
Visitation will be held at the church Monday from noon until the time of services.

Luther E. Brown
LECK KILL - Luther E. Brown, 83, of HC-63, died Tuesday, June 8 at Friendly Nursing Home in Pitman.
Born June 8, 1921 in Leck Kill, he was the son of the late A. Wilson and Emma Howerter Brown, and was educated in the Leck Kill area schools.
He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Klingerstown. He was a former member of the Klingerstown Fire Company and the Mahantongo Fire Company in Pitman.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Eva J. Klinger Brown; a son, Richard C. of Reading; a daughter, Sandra M. Angst of Pillow; four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Norman P. Brown and a grandson.
Funeral services were held June 11 from his church. Burial was in the church cemetery.

TOWER CITY - Irene C. Koppenhaver, 101, of 1017 E. Colliery Ave., formerly of Rakers Mill Road, Elizabethville, died Wednesday, June 9 at her home.
Born in Lykens Twp., she was the daughter of the late James and Katie Beisel Troutman.
She was the oldest member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Berrysburg.
She was the widow of George L. Koppenhaver.
Surviving are a daughter, Sara Doe of Tower City; three sons, Larry of Manheim, Richard of Elizabethville and Paul of Terri, Mont.; a brother, John Troutman of Elizabethville; a sister, Florence Young of McAlisterville; eight grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and 15 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Bruce.
Services were held June 15 from Hoover Funeral Home in Elizabethville. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery in Elizabethville.
Ethel M. Breslin
LYKENS - Ethel M. Breslin, 93, of 716 E. Main Street, died Tuesday, June 8 at Susquehanna Lutheran Village in Millersburg.
Born Oct. 21, 1910 in Lykens, she was the daughter of the late Thomas A. and Margaret D. Briet Flynn.
She was retired from the local garment industry and was a life member of Our Lady of Help Christian Catholic Church in Lykens, and the church's Catholic Womens Club.
She was the widow of Lawrence Breslin; seven brothers; and a sister. Surviving are a daughter, Mary Margaret Perhach of Adelphi, Md.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated June 12 from her church. Burial was in Irish Catholic Cemetery in Lykens.

REBUCK - Dominic C. "Nick" Richard, 58, of HCR 63, died Sunday, June 6 at his home.
Born June 9, 1945 in Sellersville, he was the son of the late Roy Richard and Elfrieda "Fritzie" Angstadt Richard.
He was a retired tool and dye maker from Knoll International in East Greenfield, and a member of Grace Community Church in Herndon RD.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Dianne Adams Richard; a son Dominic of Kutztown; a daughter, Tanya Richard of Boyertown; a brother, Larry of Red Hill; a sister Brenda Nicholson of Emmaus; and six grand-
children.
Memorial services were held June 9 from his church. Burial was in County Line Cemetery in Dalmatia.
