Velma L. Wagner
HERNDON - Velma L. Wagner, 80, of RR Herndon, died July 24 at Harrisburg Hospital. Born Dec. 14, 1924 in Dalmatia, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Carrie Inez Burrell Messner. She was a retired employee of Creative Playthings. She was a member of Zion Church of Herndon. She was a member of the Herndon Fire Company Auxiliary, Lower Northumber-land Senior Citizens and The Hut Wednesday Morning Breakfast Club. Surviving are her husband of 68 years, Floyd W. Wagner; three daughters, Patricia Krommes of Dalmatia, Susan Arbogast of Harrisburg and Jan Parker of Carlisle; two sons, Keith Wagner of Lewisberry and Reynold Wagner of Hegins; three sisters, Martha Lentz and Pearl Chubb, both of Millersburg, and Dena Hopper of Halifax; two brothers, Kenneth Messner and Ned Messner, both of Millersburg; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services were held July 28 at Zion Church. Burial was in Herndon Cemetery. James A. Reed Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mary Arlene Russell
CAMP HILL - Mary Arlene Russell, 90, a resident at ManorCare and formerly of Camp Hill, died July 25 at ManorCare. Born Feb. 10, 1915 in Upper Paxton Twp., she was the daughter of the late George W. and Susan M. Miller Boyer. She was a retired clerk for the State of Pennsylvania. She was a member of Faith United Church of Christ of New Cumberland. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Paul, William, Roy, Marlin, Clark and Charles; and three sisters, Gladys Boyer, Edna Boyer and Rheba Underkoffler. Surviving are two daughters, Nancy Kehler of Mechanicsburg and Susan Thomas of Memphis, Tenn.; a son, Terry Russell of Camp Hill; three sisters, M. Betty Hassinger and Blanche Shadel, both of Millersburg, and Bernice Weaver of Elizabethville; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services were held July 27 at Hoover Funeral Homes of Millersburg. Burial was in David's Church Cemetery. Ronald W. Forney
DALMATIA - Ronald W. Forney, 62, of 5534 State Route 147, died July 26 at his residence. Born June 30, 1943 in Millersburg, he was the son of Elwood Forney of Dalmatia and the late Pauline Wert Forney. He retired after 27 years as a truck driver for Nelson Express and was last employed by Alvord-Polk Tool Co. He was a member of Emmanuel Wesleyan Church of Gratz where he was the Sunday school superintendent, served on the church council and was a member of The Christian Motorcycle Association. Surviving are his wife, Peggy Troutman Forney; a son, Chris Forney of Lykens; a brother, Keith Forney of Watsontown; and four grandchildren. Services were held July 30 at Emmanuel Wesleyan Church. Donald R. Herner, Sr.
TOWER CITY - Donald R. Herner, Sr. 73, of N. First Street, died July 25 at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center of Pottsville. Born October 16, 1931 in Hegins, he was the son of the late Ray and Martha Deitrich Herner. He was a retired oil burner technician from Tower Sales and a coal miner. He was of the Protestant Faith. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Erma R. Bender Herner; two sons, Donald R. Jr. of Tower City and Dal E. of Lykens; a brother, Larry of Hegins; and five grandchildren. Services were held July 29 from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Homes of Tower City. Anna Mae Lucas
DONALDSON - Anna Mae Lucas, 67, of 323 W. Centre Street, died July 26 at the Hershey Medical Center. Born Sept. 28, 1937 in Barry Twp., she was the daughter of the late William Sr. and Verna Carl Lucas. She was a retired cook at Fort Indiantown Gap. She was preceded in death by two brothers, William Jr. and Harold and a sister, Verna. Surviving are her companion, Kenneth M. Wolfgang; a son, Randy M. Wolfgang of Elizabethville; a daughter, Wanda M. Wolfgang of Hegins; six brothers, Jerry of Delaware, Henry of Hegins, Joseph of Goodspring and Lewis, Robert and John, all of Joliett; 11 sisters, Marion Deeter, Shirley Deeter and Betty Wolfgang, all of Hegins, Linda Morgan of Valley View, Barbara Bassannsky of Llewellyn and Grace Maidenford, Jean Kroh, Pauline Carter, Carol Nelson, Janet Maidenford and Cindy Schnoke, all of Joliett; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Graveside services were held July 30 from the United Methodist Cemetery of Weishample. Dimon Funeral Homes in Tower City was in charge of arrangements.

Norma L. Bohner
WILLIAMSTOWN - Norma L. Bohner, 57, a resident of the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Williamstown, died July 27 at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center of Pottsville. Born April 2, 1948 in Williamstown, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Anna Wren Starnowsky. She was a member of the Evangelical Congregational Church of Williamstown and a social member of the Williams-town American Legion Post No. 239. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Starnowsky. Surviving are her husband of 30 years, William C. Bohner; two daughters, Tammy L. Keisling of Elizabethville and Teresa L. Bradley of Orwin; three brothers, Donald Star-nowsky of Tower City, Sherwood Starnowsky of Schuylkill Haven and Terry Starnowsky of Lancaster; two step- daughters, Betty and Linda Green of Conn.; and a grandson. Marguerite B. Beale Metzger
LANSDALE - Marguerite B. Beale Metzger, 94, died July 26 at Mercy Suburban Hospital. Born March 23, 1911 in Mifflin, she was the daughter of the late David B. and Clara DeHuff Beale. She graduated from Shippensburg University. She was a retired school teacher who had taught in the Halifax School District. She was a member of the Order of The Eastern Star, past president of Every-woman's Club of Glenside, senior advisor to Junior Every-woman's Club, past president of York Road Garden Club and past district president and past Pennsylvania state president of the Garden Federation of America. She was the widow of Walter Metzger. Suviving are a son, David W. Metzger of West Chester; and two grandchildren. Services were held July 30 at Meadowood at Worcester. Paul R. Geist
LECK KILL - Paul R. Geist, 74, died July 29 at the Evangelical Community Hospital of Lewisburg. Born April 5, 1931 in Leck Kill, he was the son of the late Russell and Mary Reitz Geist. He was a 1948 graduate of Pine Park High School of Leck Kill. He was a U.S. Army Corp of Engineers veteran of the Korean Conflict. He owned and operated Geist's General Store, Tavern at Leck Kill and the Leck Kill Post Office. He was a lifelong member of Christ United Church of Christ of Leck Kill, where he served on the consistory, choir and properties committee. He was a former member of the St. John's Reformed Cemetery Association, where he served as secretary/treasurer. He also was a lifelong member of the Herndon Fire Company, the Gratz V.F.W. Post No. 2385, Diamond Jubilee of Lykens Twp., the Alvin E. Long American Legion Post No. 504 of Mandata, where he was a past post commander and past district commander, Erdman's Sportsman Association, the Pine Park Alumni Association Reunion Committee and served as secretary/- treasurer for Barnett Spring Hunting Club. He was the widower of Shirley Lontz Geist. Surviving are a son, Steven Geist of Milton; a daughter, Paula Geist of Millersburg; and a sister, Mary Hoy of Millersburg. Services were held August 2 at the Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home. Burial was in St. John's Reformed Cemetery. Robert D. Reiber
WILLIAMSTOWN - Robert D. Reiber, 82, of Julian Street, died July 29 at the Harrisburg Hospital. Born Jan. 16, 1923 in Wiconisco, he as the son of the late George and Erma Jury Reiber. He was a graduate of the former Wiconisco High School. He was a retired inspector at Fort Indiantown Gap. He was a U.S. Army veteran of W.W. II. He was a member of the Williamstown United Methodist Church, Williamstown American Legion No. 239, Liberty Hose Co. No. 2 of Williamstown, life member of the Dauphin County Volunteer Firemen's Association and the Ashlar Lodge F&AM No. 570 of Lykens. He was the widower of Jean Shuttlesworth Reiber. Surviving are a daughter, Marilynn L. Fickinger of Williamstown; two sons, Robert M. of Williamstown and Joseph W. of Tower City; a sister Mildred Miller of Wiconisco; and four grandchildren. Services were held August 2 from his church. Burial was in the Calvary United Methodist Cemetery in Wiconisco. Donald A. Yeager
HERNDON - Donald A. Yeager, 85, of Main Street, died July 31 at Sunbury Community Hospital. Born April 4, 1920 in Hamburg, he was the son of the late James and Florence Bailey Yeager. He was a graduate of Hamburg High School. He was a retired mail carrier in Herndon and previously sold Rawleigh Products. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Herndon and a former member of the church council, the Herndon Area Senior Citizens, the Rural Mail Carrier Association, the Herndon Lions Club, the Herndon Lodge No. 702 F&AM, where he has been a past worshipful master, the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Harrisburg, Tall Cedars Forrest No. 65 of Sunbury and a life member of the Herndon Fire Company. He was the widower of Margaret Croll Yeager. He also was preceded in death by a brother Marvin Yeager. Surviving are two sons, Duane Yeager of California and James Yeager of Carlisle; two daughters, Beverly Zemanek of Omaha, Neb., and LuAnn Hoffman of Jackson, Tenn.; two brothers, Ernest Yeager of Auburn and Paul Yeager of Hamburg; and seven grandchildren. Viewing will be held Wednesday, August 3 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, August 4 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran and U.C.C. Church, Main St., Herndon. Services will be held Thursday, August 4 at 11 a.m. at his church. The Herndon Lodge No. 702 F&AM will conduct a service Wednesday, August 3 at 8 p.m. at his church.
