Irene M. Zigner
CAMP HILL - Irene M. Zigner, 70, formerly of Wiconisco Ave., Tower City, died Oct. 3 at Select Specialty Hospital in Camp Hill.
Born Oct. 4, 1934 in Tower City, she was the daughter of the late Beneville and Beulah Wise Reiner.
She was a retired seamstress for the former J.E. Morgan garment factory.
She was a member of the Millersburg Assembly of God.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and James Reiner.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Marlin M. Zigner; a son, Gary L. Zigner of Camp Hill; a daughter, Lori A. Sigouin of Harrisburg; a sister, Carol Reiner of Millersburg; a grandson; and a great-granddaughter.
Services were held Oct. 6 from the chapel at Dimon Funeral Homes. Burial was in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Betty Jean Koppenhaver
MECHANICSBURG - Betty Jean Koppenhaver, 81, of Messiah Village, formerly of Valley View and Harrisburg, died Oct. 1 at Messiah Village.
Born Nov. 5, 1923 in Valley View, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Carrie Schwalm Koppenhaver.
She was a retired secretary for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Office of Ad-ministration in Harrisburg.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Valley View.
Surviving are a brother, Russell Koppenhaver of Wyomissing.
Graveside services were held Oct. 7 at St. Paul's Cemetery in Sacramento.

MILLERSBURG - Elsie I. Klinger, 91, of 990 Medical Rd., formerly of Elizabethville, died Oct. 3 at the Manor at the Susquehanna Village.
Born Nov. 13, 1913 in Tower City, she was the daughter of the late John and Charlotte Warfel Heberling.
She was a retired seamstress of the former Bestok Clothing factory in Tower City.
Surviving are her husband, Mark I. Klinger and a son, Ronald L. Klinger of Elizabethville.
Graveside services were held Oct. 5 at Maple Grove Cemetery.

DALMATIA - Lynne M. Wynn, 47, of Lanker Lane, died Oct. 5 at home.
Born May 26, 1958 in Sunbury, she was the daughter of Derl and Audrey Brubaker Schaffner of Dalmatia.
She was a dental assistant wtih Endodontic Specialists in Camp Hill.
She was a member of Hillside Christian Fellowship in Millersburg.
Surviving are her husband, Timothy H. Wynn; a daughter, Heather Henninger of Dornsife; a son, Brian Henninger of Gratz; three sisters, Joanne Snyder of Millersburg, Tamie White of Millersburg and Pamela Novinger of Pillow; and a granddaughter.
Services were held Oct. 8 at Hillside Christian Fellowship. Burial was at Northumberland Memorial Park in Stonington.

MILLERSBURG - Mae L. Kessler, 73, of 913 Meadow Lane, died Oct. 5 at the Harrisburg Hospital.
Born August 19, 1932 in Washington Twp., she was the daughter of the late Clarence J. and Amelia E. Williams Wolfe.
She attended St. John's Lutheran Church in Berrysburg.
She was the widow of Elvin L. Lower. She also was preceded in death by a grandson, Thomas C. Lower.
Surviving are her husband, Russel L. Kessler; two daughters, Kathy L. Hepner and Tracy M. Wertz, both of Millersburg; two sons, Stephen L. Lower of Berrysburg and Ricky A. Lower of Millersburg; a stepson, Dr. Kevin Kessler of Longview, Texas; two sisters, Mary S. Shumaker of Bainbridge and Anna R. Whitcom of Elizabethville; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 10 at Hoover Funeral Homes in Millersburg. Burial was at Riverview Memorial Gardens in Halifax.

Robert E. Bettinger
TOWER CITY - Robert E. Bettinger, 72, formerly of Tower City, died Oct. 7 at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born Sept. 5, 1933 in Orwin, he was the son of the late Arthur and Hilda Hand Bettinger.
He was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was retired from the banking and insurance industry in Florida.
He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Tower City and the Porter Tower Lions Club.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and Leroy and two sisters, Pauline Hand and Alverta Bettinger.
Surviving are three sisters, Shirley Nasados of Tower City, Faye Jones of Muir and Myra Shomper of North Carolina.
Services were held Oct. 10 from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home. Burial was in St. Peter's Cemetery in Orwin.

Robert J. Scheibelhut
WILLIAMSTOWN - Robert J. Scheibelhut, 65, of 314 E. Spruce St., died Oct. 6 at his home.
Born Feb. 19, 1940 in Tower City, he was the son of the late John and Mildred Evans Scheibelhut.
He was a retired freight clerk with U.S. Air at the Harrisburg International Airport.
He was of the Methodist faith and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Donna L. Ferron Scheibelhut and two daughters, Tracey L. Scheibelhut of Middletown and Ginger A. Sergott of Middletown.

Ida M. Leitzel
MUIR - Ida M. Leitzel, 82, of 117 W. Church St., died Oct. 7 at ManorCare in Pottsville.
Born Nov. 3, 1922 in Hegins, she was the daughter of the late George and Minnie Swinehart Carl.
She was a 1941 graduate of the former Hegins High School and a graduate of the Pottsville School of Nursing.
She was an LPN with Home Health Care.
She also was the owner of the former Ida's Craft Shop in Reinerton and a demonstrator for American Home Toys and Beeline Clothing.
She provided emergency shelter for Children Services, took children in from Topton Home and the Hershey Home and was a sponsor for Fresh Air Children.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Muir and its Ladies Bible Class, Altar Guild and was a teacher for vacation Bible school and Children of the Church.
She volunteered for Meals on Wheels, the Williams Valley Elementary School, was a member of the Tower Porter Ambulance Association, Old Home Week Committee, a former Girl Scout leader, ran the refreshment stand at the Tower Porter swimming pool, competed with the Senior Olympics and was a member of the Pottsville and Pine Grove Bowling Leagues.
She was the widow of Robert J. Leitzel. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Lois Reiner and a sister, Edna Rhoades.
Surviving are a daughter, Monica S. Romberger of Muir and Kimberly M. Leitzel of Harrisburg; a son, Glenn Baker of Tower City; two brothers, Charles Carl of Gordon and George Carl of Tower City; three sisters, Violet Lucas and Anna Marwine, both of Tremont and Joan Kroeck of Annville; two grandsons and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 11 from her church. Burial was in the Methodist Cemetery.

HALIFAX - Helen Irene Zyry, 87, of 27 McClellan Rd., formerly of Millersburg, died Oct. 8 at The Manor at Susquehanna Village.
Born Sept. 8, 1918 at Pontiac, Mich., she was the daughter of the late Anthony Kotoskie and Ida Smeltz Kotoskie Neiter.
She was a retired machine operator at Muskin Shoe Factory.
She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Fisherville and the Red Hats Society at The Manor at Susquehanna Village.
Surviving are her husband, Peter R. Zyry; a son, Wayne R. Herb of Dalmatia; four brothers, Donald Neiter of Michigan, Luther Neiter of Tennessee, Howard Neiter of Carlisle and Ray Neiter of Halifax; two sisters, Mildred Rothermel of Halifax and Jean Feidt Teats of Millersburg; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 11 at Reinhard Funeral Homes. Burial was at Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Killinger.

DALMATIA - Jacob Andrew Zeigler, 81, of Dalmatia RR 1, died Oct. 8 at the home of his son in Fishers, Ind.
Born Jan. 15, 1924 in Dalmatia, he was the son of the late Franklin E. and Margaret Susan Bingaman Zeigler.
He was a graduate of the former Lower Mahanoy High School.
He was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was a retired machinist from Brubaker Tool Company in Millersburg.
He was a member of the Mandata American Legion, the Millersburg American Legion, the Millersburg V.F.W. and the Dalmatia Fire Company.
He was the widower of Jean A. Markel Zeigler. He also was preceded in death by a son, Jan A. Zeigler; four brothers and five sisters.
Surviving are a son, Jeffrey A. Zeigler of Fishers, Ind.; a sister, Needa Rumberger of Carlise; and two grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday, Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ in Dalmatia. A viewing will be held from noon to 2 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Dalmatia Cemetery.

MILLERSBURG - Duane D. Billow, 50, of 1362 Route 25, died Oct. 7 at the Harrisburg Hospital.
Born Oct. 28, 1954 in Harrisburg, he was the son of Grant E. Billow of Millersburg and the late Shirley M. Heller Billow.
He worked as a machinist at Tyco Electronics in Lickdale and was a former employee of Brubaker Tool Co. in Millersburg.
He was a member of Susquehanna Lodge No. 364, F&AM of Millersburg, Millersburg Forest #125, Millersburg American Legion No. 326, Woodman of the World No. 0721 and a former member of the National Fishing Lure Collector's Club.
Surviving are his wife, Gail S. Hassinger Billow; a daughter, Holly K. Billow of Millersburg; a sister, Patty L. Ferrari of Manheim; and a brother, Thomas G. Billow of Millersburg.
Services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 11 a.m. at Hoover Funeral Homes In Millersburg. A viewing will be held Tuesday, Oct. 11 from 7 to 9 p.m. with Masonic Services starting at 8:45 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m., both at the funeral home. Burial will be at David's Church Cemetery in Killinger.
