HALIFAX - Evelyn J. Kryscio, 78, of 3274 Back Rd., died Dec. 25 [2005] at Harrisburg Hospital. She was born Dec. 19, 1927 in Dickson City. She was a member of Queen of Peace Church in Millersburg. She was the widow of John A. Kryscio. She also was preceded in death by a son, John Kryscio. Surviving are a son, Raymond J. Kryscio of Halifax; five grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Graveside services were held Dec. 30 at St. Bernard Cemetery in Bridgewater, N.J. Hoover Funeral Homes in Millersburg was in charge of arrangements.

Eleanor A. Kramer
MIDDLETOWN - Eleanor A. Kramer, 92, died Dec. 22 [2005] at Frey Village. Born July 17, 1913 in Millersburg, she was the daughter of the late Wilmer and Hazel Fralick Romberger. She was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Harrisburg. She was a member of A.A.U.W. of Harrisburg, Order of Eastern Star, Harrisburg Choral Society, Frey Village Auxiliary, Friends of the Symphony, Bethesda Mission, Food Pantry, Meals on Wheels and the C.P.L.C. She was the widow of Stewart E. Kramer. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Ronaele A. Rotz. Surviving are a daughter, Ellen K. Palmer; three sons, Wilmer "Bud" Kramer, Robert L. Kramer and John S. Kramer; a brother, Wilmer L. Romberger; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 7 at 11 a.m. at her church. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to a local library. Auer Memorial Home and Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.

Ida May Herner
HEGINS - Ida May Herner, 86, died Dec. 27 [2005] at Rest Haven in Schuylkill Haven. Born Feb. 16, 1919 in Coal Twp., she was the daughter of the late George Monroe and Carrie Kehres Snyder. She was a graduate of the former Coal Twp. High School. She was a retired school bus aid and bus driver at Tri-Valley School District. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Hegins. She also was a member of the former Daughter's of America of Hegins, Hegins Fire Company Auxiliary, the Tri-Valley Senior Citizens and the Woodmen of the World Pitman Lodge. She was the widow of Paul Ralph Daniel Herner. Surviving are a son, Dr. Rev. Daniel G. Herner of Lebanon; three daughters, Sharon G. Behm of Birdsboro, Corinne P. Wolfgang of Hegins and Mae E. Allvord of Duboistown; a brother, Irvin Snyder of Shamokin; a sister, Ada Orner of Enola; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Services were held Dec. 31 at St. John's United Methodist Church. Burial was at St. John's Cemetery in Hegins. Vincent D. McCormick
LYKENS - Vincent D. McCormick, 81, died Dec. 24 [2005] at his home. He was the son of the late James and Kathryn Platzer McCormick. He was a U.S. Army veteran of W.W. II serving in the battles of Normandy, Rhineland and Ardennes. He received the Purple Heart after being seriously wounded in Normandy, the American Campaign medal, the European African Middle Eastern Campaign medal and the World War II Victory medal. He was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church. He also was a member of American Legion Post No. 124 and a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by four brothers, James, John, Joseph and Peter and a sister, Helen Shaeffer. Services were held Dec. 30 from his church. Burial was at the Irish Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 100 E. Brown St., Middletown 17057. The John R. Shultz Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Norman E. "Bud" Warfel
MILLERSBURG - Norman E. "Bud" Warfel, 81, of 256 Center St., died Dec. 21 [2005] at his residence. Born Jan. 7, 1924 in Millersburg, he was the son of the late N. Marlin and Mary Watkeys Warfel. He played minor league baseball for the White Sox organization. He served in the U.S. Army during W.W. II, participating in battles in Northern France, Belgium, Holland and Ger-many for which he received three bronze campaign stars. He was a retired school teacher at Line Mountain High School where he coached the golf team and was an assistant football coach. He was a member of the Bonnie Scots and Westshoreman Drum and Bugle Corps; the Blue Notes dance band; Navy Boys Band; was the 1957 National Buglar; and a member of the American Legion Post No. 326 and the VFW Post No. 5507. He formed the Silver Stragglers senior golfers group at Harrisburg North Golf Club and was a former columnist for the Upper Dauphin Sentinel. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Warfel. Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Walter Warfel; a daughter, Lynne Warfel-Holt of Northfield, Minn.; a stepdaughter, Jennifer Erdman of Camp Hill; three stepsons, Michael Erdman of Mechanicsburg and Matthew Erdman and Christopher Erdman, both of Millersburg; and seven grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service with military honors will be held Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 11 a.m. at Trinity UCC in Millersburg. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Millersburg. Memorial contributions may be made to: American Diabetes Assoc., 3544 N. Dorothy "Dot" Umholtz
LYKENS - Dorothy "Dot" Umholtz, 89, of 452 1/2 S. 2nd St., died Dec. 26 [2005] at Osteopathic Hospital in Harrisburg. Born Dec. 31, 1915 in Williamstown, she was the daughter of the late Alexander W. and Jenny Llewellyn Hoffman. She was a retired seamstress from the garment industry. She was a member of Lykens United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Harry L. Umholtz. Surviving are two sisters, Betty M. Showers of Williams-town and Jeanne M. Turner of Mechanicsburg; and a brother, Marshal R. Hoffman of New Jersey. Services were held Jan. 3 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Dimon Funeral Homes in Williamstown was in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy M. Fetterhoff
MUIR - Dorothy M. Fetterhoff, 71, of 213 W. Wiconisco St., died Dec. 27 [2005] at the Hershey Medical Center. Born March 24, 1934 in Muir, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Eleanor Hand Laing. She was a retired seamstress from the former Bobbi Rogers garment factory in Tower City and a manager at Tower Sales Mini Market in Reinerton. She was a member of the Tremont congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Rowland "Bench" Fetterhoff; three daughters, Christine M. Harner of Minersville and Sandra L. Bender and Teri Ann Fetterhoff, both of Muir; a son, Rodney W. Fetterhoff of Tower City; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Services were held Dec. 31 from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Homes in Tower City. Burial was at the convenience of the family at Fairview Cemetery in Muir. Audrey E. Brosius
DORNSIFE - Audrey E. Brosius, 78, of Dornsife RR 1, died Dec. 27 [2005] at her residence. Born March 31, 1927 in Joliett, she was the daughter of the late George and Sarah Helen Rhody Miller and the stepdaughter of the late Ruth Bendigo Miller. She was a retired employee of the former Mandata Poultry Plant. She was a member of Himmel's Lutheran Church in Rebuck, where she helped the Women of the Church. She was the widow of her first husband, Bryant I. Morgan and her second husband, George S. Brosius. She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin "Mick" Miller, Clair "Shin" Miller and Guy "Pook" Miller. Surviving are four daughters, Linda Wetzel of Sunbury RR 1, Beverly Konyar of Lewisburg, Theresa Dobson of Dalmatia RR 1 and Cheryl Lesher of Dornsife RR 1; two sons, Randy Brosius and Jeffrey Brosius, both of Dornsife RR 1; four sisters, Lois Boyer of Good Spring, Joy Morgan of Hegins and Alice Boyer and Faye English, both of Tower City; a brother, James Miller of Joliett; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Services were held Dec. 31 at Himmel's Church in Rebuck. Burial was at Himmel's Cemetery in Rebuck. Elsie M. Buffington
LYKENS - Elsie M. Buffington, 84, of Parkview Rd., died Dec. 28 [2005] at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the daughter of the late Earl and Jennie Strayer Williams. She was the proprietor of the former Helt's Furniture Store. She was a member of the Lykens United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Lykens Area Senior Citizens and Lykens High School Alumni Association. She was the widow of her first husband, James D. Helt Jr. She also was preceded in death by three sisters, Mildred Wetzel, Margaret Bressler and Erma Clay and a brother, Earl Williams. Surviving are her husband, James A. Buffington, Sr.; two stepchildren, James A. Buffington Jr. and LaDonna Buffington; and three stepgrandchildren. Graveside services were held Dec. 30 at Calvary United Methodist Cemetery in Wiconisco. Joseph E. Hawk
TOWER CITY - Joseph E. Hawk, 77, of 42 Porter Rd., died Dec. 30 [2005] at his home. Born Nov. 8, 1928 in Wiconisco, he was the son of the late Roy and Emma Houtz Hawk. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a retired highway designer from Baker Engineers in Harrisburg. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and a member of its Sunday school, the choir and Men of Victory. He was a statistician for the Williams Valley High School wrestling program, a security guard for the school district and a member of the PA Trail Riders Association. He was the widower of his first wife, LaVera Schumber Hawk. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Lubold, a sister, Margaret Popp and a brother Roy Hawk. Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Jean E. Leitzel Hawk; two sons, Keith A. of Fredericksburg and John A. "Jake" of Millersburg; a daughter, Dianne M. Bender of Tower City; a sister, Shirley Messner of Harrisburg; seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 4 at 7 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church in Tower City. A viewing will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Burial with full military honors will be held at Thursday, Jan. 5 at 10 a.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. MILLERSBURG - Leona H. Moore, 82, of 644 Center St., died Dec. 31 [2005] at Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill. Born July 15, 1923 in Millersburg, she was the daughter of the late William W. and Alvena A. Hassinger Howard. She and her late husband George owned Johnson's Jewelry in Millersburg. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Millersburg and OES Glen Chapter No. 425. She was the widow of George W. Moore. She also was preceded in death by a brother, John Howard and a sister Phyllis Lebo. Surviving are two sisters, Frances Shoop and Kathryn Teats, both of Millersburg. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Oak Hill Cemetery in Millersburg. A public memorial service will be held at a later date. Mary E. Snyder Fenstermacher
MILLERSBURG - Mary E. Snyder Fenstermacher, 93, of Polk Personal Care, died Dec. 30 [2005]. She was the daughter of the late George M. and Edith M. Eshenhaur. She was the former owner of Eshenhaur's Confectionary in Millersburg. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Millersburg where she taught Sunday school and volunteered on many committees. She also was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, serving as a Worthy Matron; a member of Millersburg Upper Paxton Historical Society and Mahanoy Mahantongo Historical Society; and a former volunteer with the Millersburg Ambulance Association. She was the widow of Richard E. Snyder. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Yvonne M. Laudenslager and a granddaughter. Surviving are her husband, Robert C. Fenstermacher of Paxton; two daughters, Carol J. Hose of New Cumberland and Deborah A. Thompson of Dauphin; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. HALIFAX - Madeline S. Ott, 31, died Jan. 1 [2006] at York Hospital as the result of an auto accident. She was a 2001 graduate of Albright College in Reading and a graduate of Harrisburg Area Community College. She was employed by Human Resources Management in Camp Hill. Surviving are her mother, Ellen P. Graham of Harrisburg; her father and stepmother, Arthur N. and Deborah A. Ott of Chambersburg; and two brothers, Christopher A. Ott of York Haven and Matthew K. Ott of Halifax. Services will be held Thursday, Jan. 5 at 8 p.m. at the Ronald C. L. Smith Funeral Home in Duncannon.
