Leroy J. Kerstetter
HALIFAX - Leroy James Kerstetter, 72, of 79-A Matamoras Road, died Monday, Nov. 17 at home. Born in Millersburg, he was the son of Ida Phillips Kerstetter of Elizabethville and the late Riley A. Kerstetter. He was retired from the Mechanicsburg Naval Depot and was a member of American Legion Post No. 0326; VFW Post No 5507; Capital Area Scottish Rite Club; Susquehanna Lodge No. 364, F&AM; Moose Lodge No. 59; Battle of Ormoc Bay Association; U.S.S. Moale (DD693) Association; Lower Northumberland County Motor Club; Millersburg and Upper Paxton Twp. Historical Society; NARFE Chapter No. 1816; Tin Can Sailors Association of Destroyer Veterans; Millersburg Ferryboat Association; Halifax Fire Company; Santa Claus for community and various other organizations. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He attended Jacob's United Methodist Church in Halifax. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, M. Arlene Liddick Kerstetter; a daughter, Linda C. Danner of Halifax; a brother, Donald "Pete" Kerstetter of Millersburg; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Services were held Nov. 21, from Hoover Funeral Homes, Inc. in Millersburg. Burial with military honors was in Long's Cemetery in Halifax. Elaine M. Lettich
SACRAMENTO - Elaine Marie Lettich, 49, of 420 Fearnot Road, died Sunday, Nov. 16 at Ashland Regional Medical Center. Born Jan. 26, 1954 in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Miriam Koppenhaver Cirullo and was a graduate of Williams Valley High School and Empire Beauty School in Pottsville. She was a seamstress for the Lebro Shirt Factory in Lykens and a member of the ACTWU Garment Workers Union. She was of the Protestant faith. Surviving are her husband of 24 years, Randy R. Lettich; three sons, Kyle G. Mattern of Sacramento, Michael D. Mattern of Spring Glen and Randy R. Lettich of Cressona; a daughter, Mary L. Richter of Palo Alto; and five grand- children. Funeral services were held Nov. 19 at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home in Valley View. Burial was in St. Peter's Cemetery in Fearnot. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society.

Timothy M. Scheib
LANDSDALE - Timothy Michael Scheib, 28, of 830 West Second Street, died Friday, Nov. 14 at University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Born Aug. 10, 1975 in Norristown, he was the son of Roger Scheib of Bridgeport and Louise Maurer Scheib of East Norriton and was a 1994 graduate of Wissahickon High School. He was a manager at Duke's Safety Wash Fire Hose Company in West Conshohocken and was a member of Central Schwenkfelder Church in Worcester. Surviving, in addition to his parents are maternal grandmother, Mary Maurer of Valley View; a daughter, Kaeleigh Scheib of Lansdale; two sisters, Vicki Troutman of Hegins and Tammy DeMito of East Norriton; and a friend Alissa Villante of Lansdale. Funeral services were held Nov. 21 from his church. Burial was in St. Andrew's Cemetery in Valley View. Melvin L. Zarker
PINE GROVE - Melvin L. Zarker, 65, of 314 Tremont Rd., died Nov. 15 in Shippensburg. Born April 1, 1938 in Millersburg, he was the son of the late Holden and Catharine Fetterhoff Zarker and attended the former Lykens High School. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Lykens and was a retired employee of the former Hilliards Atlantic and the former Telegraph Press, both in Harrisburg. He also worked as a school bus operator for Jecks Service Center in Pine Grove and a security officer at Hershey Park. Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Thelma E. Kilgore Zarker; three sons, Kenneth of Harrisburg, Douglas of Loyalton and Daniel of Honolulu, Hawaii; two daughters, Janice Zarker Gontz of Harrisburg and Darlene Zarker Huff of Shippensburg; a sister, Kay Davis of Newville; two brothers, Donald of Duncannon and John of Etters; and eight grandchildren. Memorial services were held Nov. 21 at his church. Burial was in Calvary United Methodist Cemetery in Wiconisco. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, In Memory of Melvin L. Cletus C. Fetter
REBUCK - Cletus C. "Chickie" Fetter, 78, of Rebuck, died Monday, Nov. 17 at Sunbury Community Hospital. Born Oct. 21, 1925 in Ashland, he was the son of the late Clyde E. and Gertie M. Schreffler Fetter and was educated in the Upper Mahanoy Twp. schools. He was employed as a custodian from the former Mahanoy Joint School District in 1948 and retired from the Line Mountain School District in 1987. He was a school bus driver for 51 years, having been employed by Bowman Brothers; Line Mountain School District and Marvin E. Klinger, Inc. He was a member of Himmel's Lutheran Church in Rebuck; Woodmen of the World Lodge Camp No. 433 of Pitman; Mahanoy Lodge No. 551 Independent Order of Odd Fellows in Dornsife; Eureka Lodge No. 260 Independent Order of Odd Fellows in Leck Kill, where he served as past noble grand; and Klingerstown Fire Company. He was active with the Rebuck Boy Scout Troop No. 311 and served as an adviser of Exployer Post No. 2311 for many years. He also was a member of Meadow Brook Hunting Camp near Shade Mountain. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Ruth A. Wagner Fetter; three sons, Kerry S. of Smethport; Lee A. of Millersburg and Dale C. of Rebuck; nine grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, LaRee Wagenseller. Services were conducted Nov. 19 by the Mahanoy Lodge No. 551 of Dornsife, and funeral services were held Nov. 20, both from his church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Himmel's Church Memorial Fund, Rebuck 17867. The Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home in Klingerstown RR1 was in charge of arrangements.

A. Harold Grosser
HALIFAX - A. Harold Grosser, 66, of 708 Straw's Church Road, died Friday Nov. 21 at Harrisburg Hospital. Born in Jackson Twp., he the son of the late Henry and Elsie Warfel Grosser. He was retired as owner from Grosser Excavating Contractors and was a member of Susquehanna Lodge No. 364 F&AM; Millersburg Tall Cedars No. 125; and Studebaker's Driver's Club. He attended St. James Church in Carsonville. He also served in the Pennsylvania National Guard. Surviving are his wife, Betty L. Zimmerman Grosser; three sons Rick, Jeffrey and Douglas, all of Halifax; a daughter, Vicky Hoover of Halifax; two brothers, Ernest of Halifax and Marlin of Elizabethville; two sisters, Betty Troutman of Loyalton and Marie Miller of Halifax; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services, beginning with a Masonic service, will be held Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 11 a.m. from Hoover Funeral Homes, Inc. in Elizabethville. Burial will be in Miller's Church Cemetery in Halifax. Viewing will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Daniel W. Jury
MILLERSBURG - Daniel W. Jury, 93, of the Bridges at Bent Creek in Mechanicsburg, formerly a lifelong resident of Millersburg, died Saturday, Nov. 22 at Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill. Born Jan. 14, 1910 in Washington Twp., He was the son of the late Oliver and Annie Lenker Jury and was a graduate of the former Elizabethville High School. He retired as a foreman from the former Muskin Shoe Company and also served as sexton of St. Paul's Lutheran Church for 27 years. He was a technical sergeant in World War II, serving as a platoon sergeant with the 276th regiment of the 70th infantry division during the Battle of the Bulge. He received the bronze star for valor and the purple heart medal. On June 15, 1944, he was honored with receipt of the expert infantryman badge, having been one of eight out an initial group of 51 men in his division to take and successfully complete the test. He also received the combat infantryman badge, good conduct medal and the European African Middle Eastern service medal with two bronze stars. He received the rating of expert rifle M1 in 1943 and sharpshooter bar in 1944. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Millersburg; a life member of American Legion Post No 326; and a founding member of VFW Post No. 5507. He was active with the Millersburg Fire Company for many years, having led the company marching unit in the 1950's and served several terms as president. He also served as president of a former Millersburg area twilight baseball league. He was the widower of Sara "Sally" Deppen Jury and also was preceded in death by an infant son, Truman Allen; two brothers; George and Mark; and a sister Verna Lilly Deibler. Surviving are a daughter, Doris Miller of Dillsburg; and a granddaughter. Services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Millersburg. Burial with military honors will be in Stone Valley Cemetery in Hickory Corners. Viewing will be Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church. Tina Marie Krammes
HEGINS - Tina Marie Krammes, 47, of 249 Dell Road, died Thursday, Nov. 20 at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Pottsville. Born Oct. 14, 1956 in Pottsville, she was the daughter of Robert Maurer of Riverside, Calif., and the late Betty Herb Maurer. She was employed as an optical technician from Reese's Candy in Hershey. Surviving are her husband of 14 years, Robert Krammes; a son, Chad Deitrich of Manheim, a daughter, Nikole Deitrich of Klingerstown; a step-daughter, Amanda Krammes of Maryland; maternal grandmother, Marie Herb of Tremont; paternal grandmother, Mae Maurer of Hegins; a brother, Rahn Maurer of Hegins; a sister, Bonnie Maurer of Pine Grove; and a grandson. Funeral services were held Nov. 25 from the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home in Valley View. Burial was in Fountain Community Cemetery in Fountain.

Eric R. Deloe
LEWISBURG - Eric R. Deloe, 18, of Springhouse Drive, died Friday, Nov. 21 at his home. Born Dec. 11, 1984 in Bradford, he was the son of Don and Brenda Byerly Adams of Lewisburg and Robert Deloe Jr. of Bradford. He was a 2003 graduate of Lewisburg High School, where he played trumpet in the marching and jazz bands and the school orchestra. He also helped with school musicals as a lighting technician and was a member of the high school bowling team. He was a member of Boy Scout Troop No. 538 in Lewisburg, where he served most recently as an assistant scoutmaster. He earned his Eagle Award in April 2002, completing his Eagle project by helping make the Rapid Run Nature Trail in R.B. Winter State park handicapped accessible. In April he received the McMurtrie Award, given to those who are deemed to represent the highest ideals of Boy Scouting. In Sept. he was honored with the James E. West Fellow National Endowment Award. Upon graduation, he had planned to join the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Lewisburg and was active in the church youth group. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Loren C. Adams, maternal grandmother, Dorothy Mattern Byerly of Herndon; and paternal grandparents, Clara Zande Deloe of Bradford and Clyde Adams of Dornsife. Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 29 from 12 to 3 p.m. at his church, followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m. Later in the evening, a contemporary youth memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m., also at the church. Memorial donations may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ Memorial Fund, 1050 Buffalo Road, Lewisburg 17837; or Susquehanna Council Boy Scouts of America, 815 Northway Rd., Williamsport 17701.
