MCCLURE - Kenneth M. "Kenny" Goss, 79, of 700 Whiskey Road, McClure, died at 11:15 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2002, at Brookline Manor, Mifflintown. Born Oct. 17, 1922 in McClure, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Gertrude E. (Zook) Goss. Surviving are: a brother and sisters, Richard A. Goss, RR1, Mifflintown, Mrs. Roy (Shirley) Weaver, Summit Road, McClure, Mrs. Fred (Dorothy) Goss, McClure, and Mrs. Wesley (Beryle) Wiser, Old Stage Road, McClure. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. He was employed in the Tire Fabric Department of the American Viscose Corporation for 22 years, before retiring in 1972. He was a member of the First Church of the Brethren in Lewistown. His graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Samuel's Cemetery, McClure, with the Rev. Kenneth C. Wagner officiating. Marjorie J. Goss
LEWISTOWN - Marjorie J. Goss, 70, of 247 W. Fifth St., Lewistown died at 10 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2002 at Valley View Haven, Belleville. Born Feb. 19, 1932, in McVeytown, she was the daughter of the late Harry Hambright and Florence Stewart. She was the wife of Charles A. Goss, whom she married in 1951. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. William (Cheryl) Haubrick Jr. of Lewistown; a son, Timothy W. Goss of Lewistown; three half-brothers, Charles Hambright of California, Russell Hambright of McVeytown and Jack Hambright of McVeytown; a half-sister, Marian Kline of Lewistown; a grandson and two granddaughters. She was preceded in death by a son, Kim Allen Goss; a sister, Vivian Haubrick; three half-brothers and a half-sister. Early in life, she worked at Fisher's Electronics. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Barr Funeral Home, Inc., 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. George Mark officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the home. Interment will be in Mattawana Cemetery, McVeytown. Park R. Goss
MCCLURE - Park R. Goss, 86 of RR2 McClure, passed away at 6:02 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2002, at Evangelical Community Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past two weeks and in ill health for four years. Born Dec. 8, 1915, in West Beaver Township, Snyder County, he was the son of the late Clarence S. and Lura P. (Peters) Goss. His wife, Virginia Goss, whom he married in 1947, survives. Also surviving are: daughter and son-in-law, Susan D. and Edward Kline Jr., RR2 McClure; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis E. and Donna Goss, RR4 Middleburg; three grandchildren, Michael, Tiffani and Skylar; two step-grandchildren, Heather and Nathan; two step-great-grandchildren, Brittany and Dawson; four brothers, Clair A. RR2 McClure, Marvin S. Sr., RR1 Beaver Springs, Fern A., Haymarket, VA and Gene G., RR2 McClure. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy E. Goss in 1960, and a brother, Eston Goss in 1922. He was a member of St. John's Ridge Lutheran Church, RR2, McClure and a life member of the Heiser-Hoffman VFW Post 5640, Middleburg. He was employed for the past 30 years at Super Service Garage, Beavertown, retiring in 1981. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Germany from 1942-1945. He enjoyed working in his shop, woodworking, metalworking and tractors. His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Ridge Lutheran Church, RR2 McClure, with the Rev. Robert G. Kidd officiating. Interment will be in Black Oak Ridge Cemetery, where graveside military services will be provided by VFW Post 5640, Middleburg. MCCLURE - Thelma M. Goss, 90, of West Specht St., McClure, died at 2:25 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, at Lewistown Hospital. Born Nov. 11, 1911, in West Beaver Township, Snyder Co., she was a daughter of the late Ralph J. and Sabina (Reitz) Knepp. Her husband, David Monroe Goss, preceded her in death in 2000. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Roy (Evelyn) Goss of McClure. She was preceded in death by a son, Dalton M. Goss, a grandson, Dalton Wayne Goss, three brothers, Glenn H. Knepp, Eugene Knepp and Park Knepp, and two sisters, Gladys Barr and Phyllis L. Knepp. She was employed at the American Viscose Corporation before retiring in 1972. She was a member of St. John's Ridge Lutheran Church, McClure. Her funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Ridge Lutheran Church, RR2, McClure, with the Rev. Clyde B. LEWISTOWN - Dorothy M. Gotshall, 85, of 1862 Middle Rd., Lewistown, died at 11:10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002, at Malta Home, Granville. Born Aug. 7, 1916, In South Fork, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Verna (Walker) Gusky. Her husband, Donald C. Gotshall, whom she married Jan. 14, 1957, survives. Also surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Deborah) Buffington, Alta Loma, CA; a sister, Mrs. Joseph (Esther) Berich, Lewistown; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Watson, one brother and two sisters. She was a homemaker and earlier in life was employed by American Viscose Corporation. She was a member of the Junction Fire Company. Her funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Hoenstine Funeral Home, Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Jacob T. Traxler officiating. A private interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Juniata Memorial Park Cemetery. BELLEVILLE - Helen Mae Grabbe, 92, a resident of Ohesson Manor Nursing Home, formerly of Belleville, died at 11:50 p.m. Monday Dec. 23, 2002 at Ohesson Manor Nursing Home. Born Jan. 25, 1910, in Mifflintown, she was a daughter of the late William and Camilla (Warner) Whistler. Her husband, William T. Grabbe died June 12, 1991. Surviving are: three daughters, Mrs. George (Lois) Mustain, Kenton, Ohio, Mrs. Cloyd (Viola) Pannebaker, Belleville, and Mrs. Samuel (Patricia) McKeehan, Mt. Union; six grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a half-brother. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Watts Memorial United Methodist Church, Belleville. Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown with Rev. Clarkson 'Scarge' Graham
MEXICO - Clarkson "Scarge" Graham, 82, of Mexico died Wednesday, November 27, 2002 at his home. Born April 25, 1920 in Mifflintown, he was a son of the late Marshall and Sarah (Bollinger) Graham. His wife, Mary Elizabeth "Libby" (Groninger) Graham, whom he married February 13, 1945, survives. Also surviving are 2 sons and 2 daughters: Dennis C. Graham, Woodstown, NJ, Nancy Farleman, Lewistown, Marie Stephenson, Elizabethtown, and Harold "Baldy" Graham, Mt. Pleasant Mills, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, James P. Graham, a step-grandson, 3 brothers, Frank Graham, Crawford Graham, John Graham; and 2 sisters, Kathryn Geedey and Mildred Graham. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was the head of the parts department for Switzer Chevrolet in Mifflintown, S&S Chevrolet in Lewistown and then owned and operated Baldy's Store in Mexico. He was a member of Walker Grange, Friendship Fire Company, Port Royal, Juniata County Sportsmen's Association, and the Westminster Presbyterian Church. In the 1960's, he was a league referee for high school and college basketball. He enjoyed hunting, collecting a variety of things, and traveling in Pennsylvania. His service will be at 2 pm Saturday at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown with Rev. Terry Smith officiating. Interment will be in New Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal where the flag will be folded and presented by the Juniata County Veteran's Council. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the service. Grace E. Dagnell Graham
MIFFLIN -- Grace E. Dagnell Graham, 97, of Locust Grove Retirement Village, died at 9:20 am Tuesday, May 21, 2002 at the village. Born Dec. 21, 1904, in Sunbury, she was a daughter of the late Harry S. and Annie M. (Stover) Dagnell. Her husband, Frank "Dick" Kenneth Graham, died Aug. 14, 1988. Surviving are a sister, Kathryn Miller, Valley View Haven, Belleville, a brother, Paul A. Dagnell of Belleville, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas S. Dagnell. She worked in the pressing department of the Cluett-Peabody factory, Lewistown and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Mifflin. Graveside services and interment will be held at 10:30 am Friday at Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown, with the Rev. James Harper officiating. There will be no public viewing. Albert F. Grassmyer
LEWISTOWN - Albert F. Grassmyer, 86, of 420 Valley St., Apt. 1-B, Lewistown, formerly of 23 Terrace Blvd., Lewistown, died at 8:14 a.m. Tuesday April 30, 2002, at his residence. Born Oct. 18, 1915, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late M. Wayne and Mary (Yeatter) Grassmyer. His wife, Geraldine (Hart) Wyland Grassmyer, whom he married Sept. 3, 1989, survives. Also surviving are: step-children, Leroy Wyland, Lewistown, and Mrs. Richard (Peggy) Ruble, Lewistown; a sister, Fanny Cherry, Lewistown; three step-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Samuel Grassmyer and a sister, Dorothy Price. He was employed as an Oxygen Therapist at Philadelphia General Hospital, before retiring in 1976. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren, Shaw Avenue, Lewistown. He was a member of Lewistown Golden Age Club, Pensioner's Club, and PA Railroad Technical and Historical Society. Born Sept. 17, 1907, in Listie, PA, she was a daughter of the late John and Peggy (Spangler) Sheeler. Her husband, Charles D. Grassmyer, preceded her in death in 1965. Born Nov. 15, 1916, in Bratton Township, she was a daughter of the late Harry E. Sr. and Sylvia (Rebman) Rittenhouse. Her husband, Clyde A. Grassmyer, preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 1968. Surviving are: children, Donald P. Grassmyer, McVeytown, John I. Grassmyer, Dillsburg, Mrs. Glenn (JoAnn) Ranck, McVeytown, and Mrs. Richard (Linda) Ritter, Bainbridge; siblings, Gladys R. GRANVILLE - Robert P. Grassmyer, 77, a resident of The Malta Home, Granville, died at 9:49 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2002, at Lewistown Hospital. Born Jan. 1, 1925, in Bratton Township, he was the son of the late Harry and Molly E. (Renninger) Grassmyer. His wife, Nan Laureen (Bell) Grassmyer, also of The Malta Home, survives. Also surviving are: children, David L. Ripple, Robert W. Ripple, Hagerstown, MD, Randall K. Ripple, 36 Cliffside Dr., Lewistown, and Steven C. Ripple, Tampa, FL; a sister, Mary. L. Kenepp, McVeytown; 10 step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. He was a steel checker/inspector for Standard Steel for 18 years, retiring in 1987. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and The Korean Conflict. He was a member of Pine Glen Church of the Brethren. He was a member of VFW Post 7011, American Legion Post 90, Lewistown Moose Lodge, and a life member of City Fire Company. BELLEVILLE - Donald C. Graybill, 76, of 315 King Lane, Belleville, died at 2:46 pm Sunday, July 7, 2002 at his home. Born July 8, 1925 in Walker Township, Juniata County, he was a son of the late Ira and Lucy (Brubaker) Graybill. His wife, Sara Ann (Peachey) Graybill, whom he married Dec. 27, 1951, survives. Also surviving are: a daughter, Ellen Dyer and her husband, David, Harrisburg; 3 sons, Donald C. Graybill, Jr. and his wife, Joyce, Mifflintown RR 2, Roger L. Graybill and his wife, Renee, Port Royal RR 1, Richard L. Graybill and his wife, Susan, Mifflintown RR 3, brothers and sisters, Anna Saner, McVeytown, Alma Brubaker, McAlisterville RR 1, Ethel Brubaker and Wilbur Graybill, both Mifflintown RR 2, Chester Graybill, Souderton, Esther Peachey, Belleville, 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. ROCKVILLE, MD - Edith (Zackowitz) Greenberg died peacefully on March 11, 2002, in Rockville, MD. Born Feb. 6, 1913, in Greensburgh, PA. Predeceased by her parents Benjamin and Toby Zackowitz and by her sisters Elizabeth Dates, Rose Hoffman, Edna Greenberg, Charlotte Zackowitz and Mae Zackowitz. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Barbara and Steve Inkellis, Rockville, MD, and Judy Malkin and Elliott Jacobson, Toronto, Canada. Grandmother of Elizabeth and David Inkellis, Rachel Jacobson, and Jena Roesky. Great-grandmother of Benjamin and Rebecca Roesky. LEWISTOWN - M. Louise Grose, 76, of 3735 SR 103 North, Lewistown died at 8:40 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at her residence. Born Jan. 27, 1926, in Lewistown she was a daughter of the late Richard E. and Zelda (Fisher) Fisher. Her husband, Howard E. "Chub" Grose preceded her in death on Jan. 3, 2000. Surviving are three children, Stephen L. Grose, Enola, Gregory E. Grose, Lewistown, and Mrs. Mark (Anita) Dias, Hershey; four brothers, Herbert F. Fisher, Lewistown, Norman R. Fisher, Enola, Larry A. Fisher and Ralph E. Fisher, both of Lewistown; a sister, Connie R. Crosson, Lewistown; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard E. and William R. Fisher. She a 1944 graduate of Lewistown High School. She worked for Central Penn Supply for 14 years, and then served as tax examiner for the state of Pennsylvania for 11 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of Granville United Methodist Church, where she was primary Sunday School teacher, and youth director for six years. She was also president of United Methodist Women, member and past president of U.C.T. Council 591, and president of Granville PTA. She was a dedicated mother, neighbor and sister. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Granville United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. S. Ronald Parks officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Leon 'Eugene' Gross
BEAVER SPRINGS - Leon "Eugene" Gross, 81, of Beaver Springs, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2002, at his home. Born Jan. 17, 1921, he was the son of the late Charles D. and Nettie (Moyer) Gross. His wife, Frances "Mary" Grice, whom he married May 1, 1945, preceded him in death on July 21, 1994. Surviving are: two brother-in-laws, Bob B. Herbster, Beaver Springs, and Ron Grice, Heckington, Sleaford, England; three nephews, Robert L. Herbster, Beavertown, John Plamer, Harlexton, Grantham, England and Rex Plamer, Folkingham, England; and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty I. Herbster in 1995. He was a member of Christ Church, Beaver Springs. He served in the US Air Corps as a radio operator from 1942-1945. He worked for American Viscose from 1946-1972 and Yorktown Kitchens, Mifflinburg until 1975. He retired from Selinsgrove State School in 1985 after 10 years as a nurse's aide. He enjoyed painting, raising cacti and watching wildlife. His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Beavertown Chapel of Aurand Funeral Homes, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown, with the Rev. David Meckley officiating. Interment will be in the Adamsburg Cemetery, Beaver Springs. BEAVER SPRINGS - Patricia L. "Patsy" Gross, 71, of Beaver Springs, passed away at midnight, Aug. 6, 2002, at Harrisburg Hospital, Harrisburg, where she had been a patient for one day. Born Nov. 10, 1930, in Beaver Springs, she was a daughter of Eva (Dreese) Felker of Beaver Springs and the late Ernest W. "Nick" Felker, who passed away in 1972. Her husband, Bob E. Goss, whom she married on April 2, 1950, survives. Also surviving are two daughter and sons-in-law, Debra and Tim Benner of McClure and Barbara and Gilbert Martini of Doylestown; four grandchildren, Ty, Kara, Ross and Ryan; and a great-grandson, Dalton. She was a member of Beaver Lutheran Church, Beaver Springs, where she taught Sunday School, Bible School and Catechism classes and was a member of the altar guild. She graduated from Beaver Vocational HIgh School in 1948. She retired from Selinsgrove Center in 1989, after 32 years as a clerk typist. She enjoyed reading, latch hook, playing cards, her grandchildren and her dog, Lucky. A service of Christian Burial will held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Beaver Luther Church, with Rev. Charles A. Ruth May Guerrini
LEWISTOWN - Ruth May Guerrini, 84, of 2 Pine Park Dr., Lewistown, died at 6:01 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002, at her residence. Born Nov. 6, 1917, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late George E. and Mary V. (Leonard) Himes. Her husband, Patrick A. Guerrini, preceded her in death on Oct. 22, 2000. Surviving are: four children, Roger M. Guerrini, Baltimore, MD, Steven K. Guerrini, Waynesboro, VA, Mrs. Park (Gail) Barner, Harrisburg, Mrs. Kenneth (Diane) Shaefer, Lewistown; a grandson she raised, Dale M. Guerrini, Sedalia, MO; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family having been preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. She was a homemaker She was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with the Father John Schmalhofer officiating. Mrs. Guerrini was donated to the Humanities Gifts. There will be no viewing. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 106 N. Dorcas St., Lewistown, PA 17044 or to Hospice the Bridge, 152 E. Market St., Suite 200, Lewistown, PA 17044. Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, is in charge of the arrangements.

David K. Guyer
LEWISTOWN - David K. Guyer, 69, of William Penn Nursing Center, Lewistown and formerly of RR 1, Box 251, Huntingdon, died at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5 at Lewistown Hospital. Born Feb. 8, 1933, he was the son of the late Arthur V. and Thelma (Friday) Guyer. His wife, Hilda M. (Snyder) Guyer, survives at the Huntingdon residence. Also surviving are three sons, one daughter, two brothers, one sister, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the John B. Brown Funeral Home, 417 Washington St., Huntingdon, with Rev. Henry A. Theys officiating. Interment will be in Donation Cemetery, Oneida Township, Huntingdon County. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to National Parkinson's Foundation, 1501 NW Ninth Ave., Miami, FL 33136.
