LEWISTOWN - Anna E. Packer, 81, of 486 W. Fourth St., Lewistown, died at 8:42 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at her residence. Born Jan. 10, 1921, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Bertha M. (Stewart) Gross. Her husband, Richard Packer, preceded her in death in 1975. Surviving are: children, Thomas Gross, April Paige, Richard Packer, Patrick Packer, and Mrs. Terry (Theodora) Brittain, all of Lewistown, Martin Packer, Baltimore, MD, Kitty Packer and Mrs. Eugene (Robin) Harpster, both of Lewistown; a sister, Mrs. Robert (Geneva) Clark, Lewistown, and a brother, Charles Gross, Lewistown; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Early in life she worked at FMC Cake Converting and later at Bell Laundry. She was a member of the Lewistown Presbyterian Church and the Brooklyn Fire Company, Lewistown. Her memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Presbyterian Church, 17 E. Third St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Bruce Hinderliter officiating. Veida J. Pagana
BELLEVILLE - Veida J. Pagana, 95, a resident of Valley View Retirement Community, Belleville, formerly of 108 West Fourth Street, Lewistown, died at 11:50 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at the Retirement Community, Belleville. Born March 15, 1907, in Mt. Union, she was the daughter of the late J. Marshal and Minnie (Bowsman) Jones. Her husband, C. Charles Pagana, who was a veteran, preceded her in death on June 8, 1973. Surviving are: children, Mrs. Walter (Wanda) Clews, Harrisburg, and Mrs. G. Edward (Constance) Miller, Reedsville; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was a homemaker. She was Methodist by faith. Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. MILROY - Ardella R. "Dolly" Paige, 81, of 1653 New Lancaster Valley Rd., Milroy, died at 11:35 a.m. Sunday, July 14, 2002, at her residence. Born May 30, 1921, in Shrader, she was the daughter of George Edward and Mary E. (Kauffman) Reed. Her husband, Prestie E. Paige, whom she married March 29, 1946, survives. Surviving are: children, Shirley E. Goss, Hardwick, Vermont, Sandra J. Himes, Stanley M. Savitts, Charlotte A. Wagner, all of Milroy and Peggy A. Gross, Hartleton; a sister, Betty L. Reed, Reedsville; 10 grandchildren, one step-grandchild, 14 great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchldren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Charles and Frank Reed. She was employed at the American Viscose, Lewistown, before retiring from the Beaver Shoe Company, Beavertown. She was a member of Evangelical Methodist Church, New Lancaster Valley. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bohn Funeral Home, 55 N. Main St., Reedsville, with the Rev. MIFFLIN - June Mae Palm, 38, of Mifflin, died at 3:58 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002, at her home. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with Pastor Dennis Thompson and Pastor Judy Rowles officiating. Diego Palminteri
MECHANICSBURG - Diego Palminteri, 87, of Mechanicsburg died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, at his home. Born May 24, 1915 in Palermo, Italy, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Caterina Cusamano Palminteri. His wife, Emily Rose Damicantonio Palminteri, survives. Also surviving are a son, James R. Palminteri of Mechanicsburg; and two sisters living in New York. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Mechanicsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Bellefonte. Interment will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Bellefonte. A viewing will be held 7-9 p.m. Monday at Wetzler Funeral Service Inc., Bellefonte, with a wake service beginning at 8 p.m. Malpezzi Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg, is handling local arrangements.

Emily Rose (Damicantonio) Palminteri
MECHANICSBURG - Emily Rose (Damicantonio) Palminteri, 87, of 5218 Windsor Boulevard, Mechanicsburg, died at 9:20 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002, in Centre Community Hospital, College Township. Born April 15, 1915, in Naginey, she was a daughter of the late Angelo and Josephine Beradis Damicantonio. Her husband, Diego Palminteri whom she married Dec. 20, 1947, in Lewistown, preceded her in death Sept. 26, 2002. Surviving are: a son, James R. Palminteri, Mechanicsburg; a sister, Mary Ficarra, Bellefonte; two brothers, Anthony and Dominic Damicantonio, both of Reedsville. She was preceded in death by a sister, Theresa Damicantonio and a brother, Peter Damicantonio. She attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Mechanicsburg. She and her husband would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary this year and Emily, as in life, followed her beloved husband Diego to their Eternal Glory. She was a homemaker. Her funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John's The Evangelist Catholic Church, Bellefonte with Father Neil R. Dadey officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Catholic Church Cemetery, Bellefonte. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 8 p.m. on Friday. Mark Allen Pannebaker
THOMPSONTOWN - Mark Allen Pannebaker, 37, of RR1 Thompsontown, died at approximately 10 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002 at his home. Born Oct. 28, 1964, in Derry Township, Mifflin County, he is the son of Ted and Sandra (Willard) Pannebaker of RR1, Thompsontown. His wife, Marcella Christine "Marcy" (Colyer) Pannebaker, whom he married Dec. 15, 1984, also died Jan. 24, 2002. Also surviving are: a son, Steven H. Pannebaker, at home; a brother, Matthew L. Pannebaker, Thompsontown, two sisters, Paula J. Naylor, McAlisterville, and JoAnn L. Gantt, Thompsontown; and his maternal grandmother, Beatrice (Sausman) Willard, Mexico, PA. He graduated from East Juniata High School in 1982. Early in life, he was employed by the Pannebaker Cabinet Company, McAlisterville, and was currently employed by Home Depot, Harrisburg, and also as a part-time dockworker for Consolidated Freightways, Carlisle. He attended the Newport Assembly of God Church, Newport, and was a member of the Teamsters Union, Local #776. He enjoyed woodworking and was always willing to help people. He was an avid NASCAR fan and was a proficient backyard mechanic. Born June 20, 1966, in Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County, she is the daughter of Frederick S. and Marcella K. (Harshbarger) Colyer Sr., of RR1, Thompsontown. Her husband, Mark Allen Pannebaker, whom she married Dec. 15, 1984, also died Jan. 24, 2002. Also surviving are: a son, Steven H. Pannebaker, at home; two brothers, Frederick S. Colyer Jr., Mt. Pleasant Mills, and Timothy E. Colyer, Yellowstone National Park, WY. She was a 1984 graduate of East Juniata High School. Early in life, she was employed as a freelance reporter for five years at the Port Royal Times, and was currently employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Dept. of Environmental Protection, Harrisburg. She was also a Notary Public. She attended the Newport Assembly of God Church, Newport. She loved shopping, photography, graphic arts, crafting and being a newspaper reporter. Harry L. 'Houser' Parchey Sr.
MCVEYTOWN &emdash; Harry L. "Houser" Parchey Sr., 74, of Country Lane, McVeytown, died at 10:43 a.m. Monday, August 5, 2002, at Lewistown Hospital. Born October 18, 1927, in Oliver Township, he was a son of the late Howard W. and Mary E. (Donahey) Parchey. His wife, Helen P. (Aultz) Parchey, preceded him in death on July 17, 1997. Surviving are: children, Harry L. Parchey Jr., Howard L. Parchey and Robert H. Parchey, all of McVeytown, Mary Ellen Parchey, Fairfield, William W. Parchey, Outlook Pointe, Reedsville, and Mrs. Scott (Patricia A.) Wilson, McVeytown; brothers, Wesley W. Parchey and Robert R. Parchey, both of McVeytown; and one grandson. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from Parchey's Sawmill, McVeytown, and had previously worked at Standard Steel, Burnham. CHAMBERSBURG - Ella L. Parson, 96, a resident of Menno Haven, Chambersburg, formerly of 360 B. Menno Village, died Saturday afternoon Dec. 28, 2002 at Chambersburg Hospital. Born Nov. 5, 1906, in Center County, she was a daughter of the late George R. and Annie (Blair) Meiss. Her husband, William S. Parson, whom she married Oct. 19, 1929, died Jan. 24, 1983. Surviving are: a daughter, Ramona P. Conley, Chambersburg; and three granddaughters, Spreng E. wife of Pete McIntire, Shady Grove, Gina D. wife David Greene, East Aurora, NY, and Tammy R. wife of Danny Shank, Chambersburg; six great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren and one niece. She was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Chambersburg for 52 years, where she was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. Mr. and Mrs. Parson were merchants who owned and operated a store in Huntingdon County and then two in Juniata County, one in Pleasant View and one in Port Royal. They also owned and operated the Star Lite Motel in Carlisle, the former Red Bridge and Keystone Motels of Chambersburg and the former Ranch Restaurant of Chambersburg. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 750 Norland Avenue, Chambersburg with Rev. A. Robert Cook and Chaplain Samuel J. Troyer officiating. Born Oct. 1, 1944, in Fermanagh Township, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late D. Orville and Esther M. (Worrall) Dunn. Her husband, William J. Parson, preceded her in death on Oct. 25, 1996. Surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. Steven C. (Tammy A.) Roselle, Palmyra, and Mrs. Daniel B. (Kathy J.) Brown, Mifflintown; three brothers, Gary E. Paul C. "Johnnie" Parson, 72, of RR1 Port Royal (Pleasant View), died Monday at Lewistown Hospital. Born Feb. 14, 1930, in Huntingdon County, he was the son of the late Alva and Beulah (Parsons) Parson. His wife, Betty L. Parson, preceded him in death in 2001. Surviving are: a daughter, Melodye A. Chapman, New Berlinville; seven sisters, Annabelle Koons, Geraldine Lauffer and Sherley Plum, all of Chambersburg, Mary Bailey, Upper Strausburg, Betty Goshorn, East Waterford, Madeline Crouse, Roxbury, and Mildred Harry, Blairs Mills; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was a retired machine operator for International Union of Operating Engineers. He was a member of Union Lodge 774 F&AM and Harrisburg Consistory. Born July 22, 1920, in Belleville, he was a son of the late Simmon J. and Susan (Bawel) Peachey. His first wife, Effie (Kauffman) Peachey, preceded him in death in 1955, and his second wife, Mary A. (Yoder) Peachey, survives. BELLEVILLE - Andrew Jesse Peachey, stillborn, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002 at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. Born Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, his parents are Paul and Julie (Swarey) Peachey of 36 Peachey Road, Belleville. His paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Steven N. Peachey, HCR 61, Allensville; maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Jesse D. Swarey, Wagner Lane, Reedsville; maternal great-grandfather, Mr. Daniel J. Swarey, Green Lane, Reedsville; his siblings are, Aaron K., Amy Jo, and Brent W. Peachey, all at home. BELLEVILLE - Anna E. Peachey, 73, of 155 South Kishacoquillas St., Belleville, died at 3:52 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at her home. Born July 12, 1928, in Belleville, she was a daughter of the late Jonas J. and Annie B. (Yoder) Peachey. Surviving are: sisters, Mrs. Mose (Lomie) Zook, Belleville, and Kore J. Peachey, 61 Pond Place, McVeytown; and eight nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Peachey, and two sisters, Nancy Peachey and Rhoda Peachey. She was employed at Vogts Garment Factory, Allensville, for 10 years, then worked 20 years as a nurses aide at Children's Hospital, Elizabethtown, and spent two years working at Phil Haven Mental Hospital, Lebanon. She also worked at Central Trucking, Harrisburg, for eight years, and the remaining ten years were spent working at Peights Store, Belleville. She was a member of Allensville Mennonite Church and the Dorcas Sisters Sunday School Class and also the Sisters Sewing Circle at the church. She enjoyed helping people. Her funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at Allensville Mennonite Church, Allensville, with the Rev. Mark Zook and the Rev. Earl Peachey officiating. Born Oct. 20, 1915, in Belleville, she was a daughter of the late Jesse J. and Sadie (Yoder) Yoder. Her husband, Elam C. Peachey, preceded her in death May 24, 1991. Surviving are: children, Chester M. Peachey, Trout Run, Elam J. Peachey, Hesston, KS, Willard J. Peachey, Belleville, Allen R. Peachey, Goshen, IN, Mrs. Floyd Anna Mary Borntrager, Humboldt, IL, Mrs. Lowell Marlene Wenger, Mt. Sidney, VA; 19 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers, Chester, John, Albert, and Norman C. Yoder and a sister, Amanda Blyer. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Mountain View Mennonite Chapel, Reedsville. She was also a member of the Women's Missionary Sewing Circle of the church , she was involved with church and nursing home visitation and she had attended Rosedale Bible Institute with her husband and helped with the cooking at Rosedale. MILLMONT - Christian C. Peachey, 84, of Canada Drive, RR2, Millmont, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2002. Born Jan. 7, 1918, in Belleville, Mifflin County, he was a son of the late John Henry and Sadie Catherine Sharp Peachey. His wife, the former Naomi Ruth Mayer, whom he married Dec. 14, 1942 in Rockville, MD, survives. He attended Belleville area schools. He attended Millmont Mennonite Church. At his request, a private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family in Buffalo Mennonite Church, RR3, Lewisburg.

BELLEVILLE - Eldora L. Peachey, 91, of Valley View Haven, Belleville, died at 11:45 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, at Valley View Haven. Born May 4, 1911, in RR1, Belleville, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Rebecca (Byler) Hertzler. Her husband, Raymond S. Peachey preceded her in death on June 25, 1980. Surviving are: five children, Mrs. Samuel L. (Ruth) Yoder, RD, Belleville, Mrs. Eugene (Pauline) Stucky, Lennox, SD, Leonard Peachey and his wife Esther, Belleville, Mrs. Byron (Zelda) Zook, Mill Creek HCR 61, and Mrs. David (Eleanor) Stoltfus, Bridgewater, VA; 18 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She was the last of her immediate family having been preceded in death by four sisters, Mattie Yoder, Amanda Smucker, Bertha Hartzler, and Sadie M. Hertzler. She was a custodian at Allensville Elementary School for 25 years, attended Market in Huntingdon for at least 25 years, a member of the Locust Grove Mennonite Church, Willing Workers Sunday School Class, a Sunday School teacher, and a member of Belleville senior citizens. Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Valley View Haven Chapel, Belleville with Reverends Max Zook, Galen Sharp, and Erie Renno officiating. BELLEVILLE - Ezra J. Peachey Jr., 77, of Valley View Haven, Belleville, died at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 4, 2002 at Valley View Haven. Born Aug. 6, 1925, in Belleville, he was a son of the late Ezra J. and Clara (Bender) Peachey Sr. His wife, Verda "Toot" (Peachey) Peachey whom he married Nov. 28, 1946, of 164 N. Kishacoquillas St., Belleville, survives. Also surviving are: three children, Gerald J. and Dennis R. Peachey, and Mrs. Kenneth (Bonita) Stoltzfus, all of Belleville; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was the last of his immediate family having been preceded in death by an infant daughter April 11, 1951; four brothers, Raymond, Merle, Leonard, and Norman Peachey; and two sisters, Thelma Bawel Byler and Viola Scheffel. He was a farmer and worked at Belleville Livestock Market. He was a member of Locust Grove Mennonite Church and the Lewistown Ostomy Assoc. Born Jan. 5, 2000, in New Jersey, he was a son of David Z. and Hannah (Troyer) Peachey Jr., 4020 Front Mountain Road, Belleville. Surviving are; grandparents, Monroe L. (Katie) Troyer, Sugarcreek, OH, David Z. (Linda M.) Peachey Sr., Belleville; great-grandmother, Annie L. Peachey, Belleville; and a sister, Sheri Lynn Peachey, at home. Wilbur "Dick" Pecht
MIFFLINTOWN - Wilbur "Dick" Pecht, 73, of Mifflintown RR 3 died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002, in Brunswick, GA. Born June 17, 1929, in McVeytown, he was a son of the late Charles and Hazel (Kauffman) Pecht. His wife, Diann (Heister) Pecht died on June 17, 1988. Surviving are: three children, Mrs. M. Richard (Teresa) Dimm, Mifflintown RR2, Mrs. Roger (Dana) Brouse, Ringtown, and W. Scott Pecht, Mifflintown RR3; four brothers, William "Bill" Pecht, Darl "Pete" Pecht, Ronald "Snip" Pecht, and Robert "Pork" Pecht, all of McVeytown; his close friend, Margie Byler, McVeytown; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was a United States Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He drove truck for CD Zimmerman for more than 40 years and was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending time with his brothers, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with Rev. Howard D. Houtz officiating. Interment will be in the Mattawana Cemetery, McVeytown, where the flag will be presented by the Juniata County Veterans Council. Bernard H. Peck
Bernard H. Peck, 90, of 4 Licking St., Mifflin, died at 7:20 pm Tuesday, May 21, 2002 at Locust Grove Retirement Village. Born Oct. 4, 1911, in Newport to the late John William and May (Souder) Peck, he was raised by his grandparents, Harry P. and Annie E. Smith. His wife, Margaret E. (Bowers-Leach) Peck, whom he married on Nov. 30, 1940, survives. Also surviving are children, Margaret "Peggy" Sieber of Mifflin and Bernard "Butch" Peck of Port Royal, 2 half-sisters, Ethel Kidd and Janeese Jordon, both of Valparesso, FL, 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was a trackman for the Pennsylvania Railroad retiring on Feb. 1, 1975, after 47 years of service. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Mifflin and was the treasurer of the Mifflin Little League for many years. He enjoyed camping and gardening. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Saturday at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown with Rev. George Reynolds officiating. Interment will be in St. Stephen's Lutheran Cemetery, Licking Creek Valley. Friends may call Friday evening 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Elsie C. Pennebaker
STATE COLLEGE - Elsie C. Pennebaker, 83, of State College, died Monday, Nov. 4, 2002 at Centre Community Hospital. Born Jan. 22, 1919, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Augustus and Martha (Kernes) Cavanaugh. Her husband, Russell N. Pennebaker, whom she married Aug. 12, 1937, survives. Also surviving are: a daughter, E. Norene and her husband George Ritchey, Port Matilda; a grandson, Terrence Michael Ritchey, Port Matilda; and three great-grandsons, Wesley J., Eli F., and Caleb R. Ritchey, all of Bellefonte. She was preceded in death by thirteen brothers and sisters. She was a sales person for Sears Department Store for 12 years, retiring in 1981. She previously worked as a sales person for a shoe store in Lewistown. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church, State College. She loved children and babysitting. Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College with Rev. Drew Fenstemacker officiating. Interment will be in St. Mark's Cemetery, Lewistown. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Howard M. "Bradley" Pennebaker
MCCLURE - Howard M. "Bradley" Pennebaker, 85, of 5616 Back Maitland Rd., McClure, died at 7:15 a.m. Sunday, March 10, 2002, at his residence. Born July 12, 1916, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Hervey B. and Daisy C. (Shreffler) Pennebaker. His wife, Esther (Long) Pennebaker, whom he married April 15, 1938, survives. Also surviving are: a son, Kenneth C. Pennebaker, Troy, WV; and a sister, Edith M. Patrick, Myerstown; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Bradley M. Pennebaker, in 2000, seven brothers and one sister. He was employed at Standard Steel, Burnham, as a tool smith/welder for 38 1/2 years before retiring in 1980. He was a Methodist by faith. He was a life member of Junction Fire Co., Brooklyn Hose Co., City Fire Co., East Derry Fire Co., and a social member of V.F.W. Post 7011 and American Post #44, Northumberland. He was also a member of Lewistown Elks Lodge #663, Lewistown Moose Lodge #143, Selinsgrove V.F.W. Post and an associate member of the Fraternal Order of Police. His funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Dan Smith officiating.
