Larry R. 'Ike' Quay
BELLEFONTE - Larry R. "Ike" Quay, 62, of 208 Ash Street, Bellefonte, died at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday Dec. 17, 2002, at Centre Crest Nursing Home, Bellefonte.
Born April 23, 1940, in Derry Township, he was a son of Betty Quay Emel of Bellefonte. His wife, Maryann (Loudenslager) Quay, survives.
Also surviving are: four sons, Landon Quay, Centre Hall, Brian Quay, Pine Grove Mills, Allan Quay, Beech Creek, and Larry Quay II, Bellefonte; three half sisters, Barb Bathurst, Howard, Mary Cingle, Clarence, and Sue Hillard, Karthaus; one step-sister, Ann Ishler, Alabama; three half-brothers, Steve Emel, Red Lion, Gray Emel, Mill Creek, and Edgar Emel, Clarence; one step-brother, Phil Emel, Bellefonte; seven grandchildren, and four step-grandchildren.
He was raised with his aunt, Burnice Quay Sheaffer and his uncle, Richard Quay, both of Beech Creek.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents whom raised him, Issac and Viola Quay.
He was a 1959 graduate of Lewistown High School.
Her served in the Vietnam War as a corporal with 2nd Marine Division, HQ Company, HQ Battalion and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal.
He retired from Cerro Metal Products, Bellefonte in 1997 from the forge department after 33 years of service.
He was a Catholic by faith.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1600, Bellefonte, the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge, Bellefonte, the Undine Fire Company #2, Bellefonte, the American Legion, United Auto Workers Union Local #1282, Bellefonte. He was also in charge of the Cerro Retirees program.
He was a former chief umpire for Bellefonte Little League, a PIAA Umpire and a Legion Baseball Umpire. He was a former Bellefonte Little League and Teener League Coach. He was an exceptional bowler and a 20 plus year usher at Beaver Stadium. He enjoyed watching and rooting for Penn State Football and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
His funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Wetzler Funeral Home, 206 N. Spring St., Bellefonte with Father Richard B. Tomkosky officiating. Interment will be in Centre County Memorial Park, College Township. Military graveside services will also be held.

Nancy C. Quednau
MIFFLINTOWN - Nancy C. Quednau, 69, died at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2002, at the Brookline Manor and Retirement Village, RR#1 Mifflintown.
Born Dec. 11, 1932, in Hartford, CT, she was a daughter of the late Otto L. and Alice C. (Haberlach) Quednau.
She is survived by one sister, Virginia Q. Banks, Mifflintown; one nephew, Robert P. Banks III; one niece, Bonnie B. Holmes; three great-nieces and one great-nephew.
While in Mifflintown, she was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Lewistown, and was an active member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Hartford, Ct, where she taught Sunday School, played the piano, sang in the choir, was a member of the Girls Friendly Society and the Girls Friendly Sponsors.
She graduated from William H. Hall High School, West Hartford, CT, in 1951, and attended the University of Connecticut.
Her funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday from St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 21 S. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Dolores M. Calhoun officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford, CT.
There will be no viewing and the family will provide all funeral flowers.

MCVEYTOWN - Helen L. Rager, 77, of 4027 U.S. Highway 522 South, McVeytown, died at 10:59 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2002, at Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.
Born June 15, 1924, at RD1, McVeytown, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Maude Estelle (Rhodes) Sunderland. Her husband Herman W. Rager, preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 1997.
Surviving are: children, Mrs. Steve (Connie) Wike, RD2 Huntingdon, Susan C. French, Lewistown, Mrs. Walt (Patsy) McKnight, RR1 Port Royal, Dennis Rager Sr., Lockport, Lewistown, and a granddaughter, whom she raised, Desiree Stilwell, Lewistown; a sister, Mrs. Clark (Beulah) Barrow, Elkton, MD; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by 10 brothers and four sisters.
She was a production employee of C.M. Crietz Bologna, Mt. Union. Later she was employed by Empire Kosher, Mifflintown, then became a homemaker.
She was a member of Wayne United Methodist Church, RD1, McVeytown.
Her memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Wayne United Methodist Church, RD1 McVeytown, with the Rev. Marion Hartman and the Rev. Charles Rhodes officiating. Interment will be in Wayne United Methodist Church Cemetery.
There will be no public viewing.

Maxwell R. "Max" Rager Jr.
LEWISTOWN - Maxwell R. "Max" Rager Jr., 77, of 45 South Fourth St. (Highland Park), Lewistown, died at 7:12 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2002 at his residence.
Born April 23, 1924, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Maxwell R. Rager Sr. and Margaret (Swanger) Rager. His wife, Grace (Stimely) Rager, whom he married July 4, 1943, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Mrs. Eugene (Gloria) Deiss, Tampa, FL, and Mrs. William (Donna) Walters, Berkeley Springs, WV; a brother, Donald Rager, Hummelstown; five grandsons and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Rager.
He graduated from Yeager-town High School in 1942.
He served in the U.S. Army in World War II in the European Theatre.
He was a n owner/operator of Rager's Home Furnishing for 45 years before retiring in 1990.
He was a member of Rhodes Memorial United Methodist Church for 66 years. He was a former member of the Lewistown Country Club.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with the Rev. Thomas B. Morningstar officiating. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. at Juniata Memorial Park.
There will be no public viewing, however, family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

LEWISTOWN - Emma M. Ramsey, 71, of Beverly Healthcare William Penn, formerly of 305 Pinewood Road, Yeagertown, died at 12:11 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, in the home.
Born May 1, 1930, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late George Walters and Mabel E. (Specht) Bedlyon. She was the wife of the late Ellsworth Junior Ramsey, who died March 27, 2000. Her first husband, Thomas H. Harris Jr., died in 1983.
Surviving are a son, Thomas Harris of Lewistown; three daughters, Mrs. James (Pamela) Smyers of Lewistown, Kathy Fisher of Milroy and Mable Fairbanks of Burnham; four step-daughters, Patsy Hoar of McVeytown, Sandra Booher of Lewistown, Ruth Taylor of Lewistown and Wanda Peffer of Lewistown; a brother, Robert Walters of Shaw, MS; ten grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Walters, and a sister, Betty Gisewhite.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville with Major Herbert B. Hamilton and Rev. Thomas B. Morningstar officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

MIFFLINTOWN - Helen P. Ranck, 87, of the Brookline Manor & Retirement Village, RR1, Mifflintown, formerly of 7 South Front Street, Mifflintown died at 2:30 p.m. Monday Sept. 30, 2002, at the village.
Born Aug. 21, 1915, in Lewistown, Mifflin County, she was the daughter of the late Edward A. and Lottie (Bearley) Lowrey Sr. Her husband, Lucian S. Ranck preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 1993.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Donald A. (Florence R.) Myers, Mifflintown, Barbara E. Dysinger, RR1, Mifflintown; six half-sisters, Charlotte M. Ranck, RR2, Mifflintown, Marilyn V. Guyer, RR1, Thompsontown, Mada A. Graham, Lewistown, Nancy J. Swartz, Laurabelle Lowery, both of Mifflin, Jenny L. Lowery, Mifflintown, three half-brothers, Jackson C. Lowery, RR3, Mifflintown, Charles S. Lowery, Mifflin, Richard L. Lowery, Norta Ft. Myers, FL; five grandsons and six great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Mifflintown.
She had worked as a clerk for Shirk's Grocery Store, Mifflintown and she was a homemaker.
She enjoyed baking and making candy.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday from the Mifflintown Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge Street, Mifflintown with Rev. Clair R. Troutman officiating. Interment will be in the Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.

TUSCARORA - Michael R. Rankin, 46, of RR3 Port Royal, died Saturday evening, Oct. 12, 2002, at his home.
Born Oct. 25, 1955, in Lewistown, he was a son of Robert L. Rankin of Lewistown and Joan A. (Marsh) Gers, Valrico, FL. His wife, Lesa J. (Detra) Rankin, whom he married Aug. 24, 1980, survives.
Also surviving are: a maternal grandmother, Hallie Marsh, Valrico, FL; two sons, Michael C. and Lucas A. Rankin, at home; two brothers, Daniel L. Rankin, Mifflintown and Jeffrey C. Rankin, Cincinnati, OH.
He was a 1974 graduate of Lewistown High School.
He was a furnace operator for Donsco Inc., Belleville. Earlier in his life he worked in general construction.
He attended the Tuscarora Church of the Brethren.
His funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m Tuesday at Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal with Rev. Charles Sheaffer officiating. Interment will be held in Locust Run Cemetery, Walker Township, Juniata County.

He graduated from Lewis-town High School. He was in the Army Air Corps, serving as a ra-dio operator during World War II.
Walter L. Rauch, Jr.
LEWISTOWN - Walter L. Rauch, Jr., 70, of Lewistown, died on Sunday, October 13, 2002 at his home.
Born March 30, 1932, in Juniata County, he was the son of the late Walter L. and Helen (Criley) Rauch. His wife, Lois Bingaman Rauch, survives.
Also surviving are children, Steven Rauch, Sr., Rick Rauch, Randy Rauch, Sr., Teresa Rauch, and Susan McMaster, all of Lewistown, Debra Zimmerman, RR 2 Port Royal, and Sheila Worthy, Mt. Union; brothers and sisters, Joe Rauch, Liverpool, Gary Rauch, Port Royal, Margaret Kahley, North Carolina, Janet Otte and Dave Rauch, both of Seymour, Indiana, Rita Dressler, Mifflin, Ruby Adair, Lewistown and Bertha Foltz, New Bloomfield; 19 grandchildren, and 2 great-grand children.
He was preceded in death by a brother, a sister, and two grandchildren.
He was a retired Eastern Industries truck driver.
He was a member of City Hook and Ladder, Fame, the Lewistown Moose and a life member of the Owl's Club, Lewistown.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday at the Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery.
There will be a viewing at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 7pm-9pm and one hour prior to the services Wednesday.

Eva L. Rearick
MILROY - Eva L. Rearick, 88, formerly of 234 S. Main St., Milroy, died at 6:55 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002, at Valley View Haven Retirement Community, Belleville.
Born Jan. 19, 1914, in Aaronsburg, she was the daughter of the late Newton W. and Viola S. (Beahm) Boyer. Her husband, Miles Joseph Rearick, preceded her in death April 28, 1965.
Surviving are several cousins.
She had worked at Laurelton State Village.
She was a member of the Milroy Presbyterian Church, Philathea Class of the Church, the church organist, a deaconess and church secretary for many years, a member of the former Galilee Shrine #30, the Mifflin County Historical Society, and the Milroy Area Homemakers.
Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Valley View Chapel, Belleville, with the Rev. Robert Zorn and Rev. Galen Sharp officiating. Interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy. A viewing will be held one hour before the funeral at Valley View Chapel.

LEWISTOWN - Marian L. Reed, 81, of 15 Goss Terrace, Lewistown, died at 3 p.m. Satur-day, May 11, 2002, at her residence.
Born July 3, 1920, in Garrett, she was a daughter of the late Cecil V. and Olive G. (Bowlby) Brown. Her husband, Alfred W. Reed, preceded her in death on March 3, 2001.
Surviving are: brother and sisters, Mrs. Robert (Fae) Weyman, 140 Terrace Boule-vard, Larry R. Brown, 310 Terrace Boulevard and Mrs. Thomas (Connie) Walters, 303 Bellevernon Avenue.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James B. Brown.
She was employed by Arrow Shirt Factory for 43 years, before retiring in 1983.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Gleaner's Sunday School Class.

Born March 13, 1927 in Shrader, he was the son of the late George Edward and Mary E. (Kauffman) Reed. His wife, Grace (Kuhns) Reed, whom he married April 12, 1950, survives.

Neff, Burnham, and Mrs. Darvin (Jeanne E.) Kanagy, Reedsville; sisters, Mrs. Prestie (Ardella) Paige, Milroy, and Betty L. Reed, Reedsville; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Woods, and two brothers, Charles E. Reed and Frank Reed.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II.
He owned and operated Honey Creek Lime and retired from New Holland in 1992.
He had 57 years of perfect attendance and taught Sunday School, and attended Centre Union Church, Lewistown.

EAST WATERFORD - Clifton L. Reeder, 35, of RD1 East Waterford, died of natural causes at 3:12 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, 2002 at his home.
Born July 23, 1967, in Lewistown, he was a son of Bertha E. (Seaholtz) Louder and her husband Richard Louder, S.R. 103 N. Lewistown, and Michael C. Reeder, Maryland. His lifetime companion, Lisa R. Lauver, survives.
Also surviving are: two children, Dustin L. Reeder and Summer S. Reeder, both at home; a sister, Mrs. Clair (Lana) Setzler, McVeytown; a brother, Curtis P. Louder, Sanford, ME; paternal grandmother, Florence Corbin, McVeytown.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Christina Reeder.
He was employed at Overhead Door Corporation, Lewistown, since 1993.
He enjoyed collecting Harley-Davidson and Ford Memorabilia, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and NASCAR fan.
His funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 S. Market St., McVeytown, with Pastor Judy Rowles officiating. Interment will be held in East Waterford Cemetery.

LEWISTOWN - Gerald R. Reese, 76, of 61 North River Road, Lewistown, entered into eternal rest at 3:32 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born March 18, 1926, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Robert L. and Maude (Fink) Reese Sr. His wife, Dora (Reynolds) Reese, whom he married on Dec. 30, 1950, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Michael L. Reese, Lewistown, Mrs. John (Dixie) Grosz, Mechanicsburg, and Mrs. Michael (Sheree) Goss, Mifflintown; brothers, Clark Reese, Lewistown, and Richard Reese, Richmond, VA; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Reese Ernest, in 1981, four brothers, Robert Jr., Russell, Donald and Paul, and three sisters, Helen Reese Temple, Delilah Cisney, and Carmen Reese.
He was a 1944 graduate of Lewistown High School.
He was a truck driver for Yankee Lines, Mason-Dixon Lines for 37 years. Later he was employed at the Overhead Door in Lewistown and PA Department of Transportation Winter Maintenance Program.
He was in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a member of Granville United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Teamster Local, McVeytown Masonic Lodge 376, Harrisburg Consistory, and Fraternal Order of Police Blue Ridge Lodge 45.
His funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Granville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark S. Brower officiating. Interment will be private at Juniata Memorial Park.
Family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.

MCCLURE - James W. "Bill" Reich Jr., 73, of McClure, passed away at 7 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2002, at his home following an extended illness.
Born Nov. 5, 1928, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late James W. Sr. and Marie V. (Jacobs) Reich. His wife, Dolores G. Plank, whom he married May 3, 1948, survives.
Also surviving are: three sons, James Z., RR1 Beavertown, Robert W., Terre Hill, and Barry D. of McClure; five grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis, in 1985 and a stillborn daughter in 1962.
In 1993, he retired from the former Beavertown Weaving Mills, after thirty years in the maintenance department.
He enjoyed fishing, football and racing.
His funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at Aurand Funeral Homes, North Brown St., McClure, with the Rev. John Moyle officiating. Interment will be in the McClure Union Cemetery.

Ruth M. Reitz
BOALSBURG - Ruth M. Reitz, 76, of Boalsburg, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2002, at her residence.
Born September 15, 1925 in Lewistown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Harry Dean and Rhoda Ryan Esworthy. On January 26, 1945, she married Harry M. Reitz, who survives at home.
Also surviving are: five daughters, Barbara J. Hambright, Cleveland, OH, Shirley A. Wagner and Debra K. Howe, both of Petersburg, Peggy L. Harman, Alexandria, and Donna M. DeHoff, State College; a sister, Grace Wolfe, York; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant son and three sisters, Helen Young, York, Ethel Nixon McCaleps and Jean Hackenberry, both of Lewistown.
She was a 1943 graduate of Lewistown High School. She was a sales clerk for Danks Department Store until her retirement in 1981. She had previously been employed by G. C. Murphy Co. and as a bookkeeper for Standard Steel Co.
She was a member of the Mount Nittany United Methodist Church. She loved sewing and needlepoint.
Her funeral service will be held at Mount Nittany United Methodist Church, 1500 E. Branch Road, Lemont, PA on Thursday, January 17 at 10 a.m. with the Reverend Carl E. Hill officiating. Interment will be in the Lind Memorial Cemetery, Lewistown, PA.

Born July 22, 1926 in Mattawana, he was a son of the late John D. and Caroline (Moist) Renninger.
Surviving are: two sisters, Mrs. Craig (Martha Lou) Rupert, McVeytown, Mrs. William (Phyllis) Goodman, Wilmington, DE; two brothers, Larry G. Renninger, Mifflintown, Darrell L. Renninger, Etters.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Susan Jean Moyle and Miriam Strawhecker.
He was a World War II Veteran of the United States Navy having served in the Pacific Theatre.
He retired in 1992 as a financial advisor for Investors Diversified Services. He was previously employed as a representative for Prudential.
He was a member of the McVeytown Lodge #376 F&AM, the Valley of Harrisburg Consistory, and the Jaffa Shrine, Altoona.
His Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 South Market St., McVeytown, with the Rev. Jerry Lee Miller officiating. Interment will be in the Pine Glen Cemetary.

David Rudy Renno
BELLEVILLE - David Rudy Renno, 83, of 102 Valley View Terrace, Belleville, died at 4:51 p.m. Thursday, July 4, 2002, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born Sept. 1, 1918, in Belleville, he was the son of the late David H. and Jemima (Peachey) Renno. His wife, Mattie B. (Hostetler) Renno, preceded him in death on Nov. 4, 1987.
He is survived by two sisters, Sylvia Renno and Sadie Stein, both of 208 Hartzler Drive, Belleville.
He was preceded in death by a son, Paul David Renno on June 1, 1989; two brothers, Pius Renno, Attrenis Renno; and a sister, Miriam Peachey.
He was a retired laborer with the roofing crew of J.M. Young & Sons, Inc of Belleville.
He was a member of Locust Grove Mennonite Church, Belleville and the Senior Mens Sunday School Class.
His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Locust Grove Mennonite Church, 3358 W. Main St., Belleville, with ministers, Max Zook, Joseph Peachey and Erie Renno. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery.
A viewing will be from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.

MCVEYTOWN - Eli S. Renno, 70, of State Route 103 N., Lewistown, died at 4:50 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at his home.
Born Nov. 30. 1931, in Belleville, he was a son of the late John and Mollie (Peachey) Renno. His wife, Hettie (Peachey) Renno, whom he married Dec. 4, 1952, survives.
Also surviving are: two sons, Jake and David, Brookston, TX, seven daughters, Nancy, Dorothea, Sara and Martha Lorraine, all of Moundridge, KS, Mary, McVeytown, Linda, Dumas, AR, and Clara, Inman, KS; a sister, Malinda Peachey, Belleville, two brothers, John, Northumberland, and Jonas, Mifflintown; and ten grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhoda, two sisters, Nancy and Mary, and three brothers, Crist, Joshua, and David.
He was a retired self-employed farmer.
He was a member of the Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Rock Haven Congregation, Belleville.
He also delivered meals on Wheels in the McVeytown and Atkinson Mills areas.
His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at his church with Ministers Sylvan Yoder, Henry Swarey and Amos Peachey officiating. Interment will be in Rock Haven Mennonite Cemetery, Belleville.

Jonas K. Renno
Jonas K. Renno, 74, husband of Mary (Peachey) Renno, of Mifflintown RR 2, died at 3:15 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2002, at his home.
His funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the John Kanagy farm in Belleville. Interment will be in the Renno Cemetery.
The viewing is today at the Menno Peachey farm, Mifflintown RR2.
Nancy B. Renno
RONKS - Nancy B. Renno, 93, of 3017 Irishtown Road, Ronks, died Saturday morning, Nov. 16, 2002, at 83 Lower Valley Rd., Christiana after a six month illness.
Born in Belleville, she was a daughter of the late John M. and Barbara Yoder Peachey. Her husband, John S. Renno, preceded her in death in 1989.
Surviving are: several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Sue Yoder, Mary and Naomi Peachey; two brothers, Abe and Jacob Peachey.
She worked as a homemaker and domestic worker for several families.
She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Her funeral services were held at noon Monday. Interment was in Beiler's Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Furman's Home for Funerals, 59 W. Main St., Leola.
Glen O. Resler Jr.
LEWISTOWN - Glen O. Resler Jr., 76, of 232 W. Fifth St., Lewistown, died at 11:10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002 at James E. VanZant VA Medical Center, Altoona.
Born Aug. 6, 1925 in Muncie, IN, he was the son of the late Glen O. and Mary Resler Sr. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Flora (Bonshire) Resler, and his second wife, Anna M. (Davis) Resler.
Surviving are: three children, Carole Thomas, North Carolina, Karen Thomas, 211 W. Fifth St., Lewistown, and Glen H. Resler, Delaware; one step-sister; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy.
He was employed as a mold maker in various glass factories.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #90, Lewistown.
His graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, at Lind Memorial Cemetery, with the Rev. Jacob T. Traxler officiating.
There will be no public viewing.

Dr. Joseph E. Rex
KEY LARGO, FL - Dr. Joseph E. Rex, 82, of Key Largo, FL, and formerly of Lewistown and Stratford, CT, died at 10 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, at Mariners Hospital, Tavernier, FL.
Born Oct. 23, 1920, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Joseph E. and Hazel Kirk (Knepp) Rex Kissinger. His wife, Edna (Hart) Rex, whom he was married to for 56 years survives at Key Largo, FL.
Also surviving are: a daughter, Susan Rex Bilson, Key Largo, FL; a son, Christopher Rex, Scranton; two nephews, Walter A. Rex, Port Royal, and Rex Norris, Belleville, IL; a niece, Carole Marvonek, Interlachen, FL; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Walter A. Rex, Sr., a sister, Lois Norris and step-father, Joseph Kissinger
He was a graduate of Bassick High School, Bridgeport, CT and the Junior College of Connecticut. In 1949 he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Evans Dental School at the University of Pennsylvania. His dental practice was in Bridgeport, CT until his retirement in 1979. After his retirement he was employed for 12 years at the John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, Key Largo, FL.
He was a veteran of World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He served as a P-47 fighter pilot with the Twelfth Air Force in Italy and then with the 27th Fighter group in France. While returning from his 69th mission he was injured when he parachuted out of his fighter.
His memorial service was held Monday, Nov. 11 at H.W. Beyer Funeral Home, Key Largo, FL. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
Matthew T. "Matt" Reynolds
MIFFLINTOWN - Matthew T. "Matt" Reynolds, 17, of R.R. #2, Mifflintown, died at 9:31 p.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2002, in the emergency room of the Lewistown Hospital from injuries sustained as a result of an automobile accident in Walker Twp., Juniata County.
Born April 17, 1984, in Derry Township, Mifflin County, he was the son of Thomas L. Reynolds of HC 67, Mifflin and Linda S. (Bashore) Reynolds, R.R. #2, Mifflintown.
In addition to his parents, also surviving are: one brother, Daniel W. Reynolds, at home; maternal grandparents, Wayne and Dorothy "Dot" Bashore, R.R. #2, Mifflintown and paternal grandmother, Margaret "Peg" Reynolds, Mifflintown.
He was a senior at Juniata High School, Mifflintown. After graduation, he had been accepted into the United States Air Force leaving July 21, 2002, and was currently employed as a part-time laborer at Empire Kosher, Mifflintown.
He was a member of Centre Lutheran Church, R.R. #2, Mifflintown.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 8, at the Centre Lutheran Church, R.R. #2, Mifflintown with the Rev. Louise Reynolds officiating. Interment will be in the Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.
There will be no public viewing, however, family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m., Thursday, at the Mifflintown Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown.
Silva M. Reynolds
MILROY - Silva M. (Rager) Reynolds, 85, of 1658 Lingle Valley Road, Milroy, formerly of Baltimore, MD., died 3:27 p.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2002, at Ohesson Manor, Lewistown.
Born August 25, 1916 in Naginey, she was the daughter of the late Charles J. and Lizzie J. (Try) Rager. Her husband, Floyd R. Reynolds, preceded her in death on July 16, 1988.
Surviving are: a sister, Dora Christman, Irwin, and 3 brothers, Homer D. Rager, Akron, OH, William Russell Rager and Fred Rager, both of Milroy.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lester C. Rager in1990 and Charles J. Rager on March 5, 1995.
She was a 1934 graduate of Milroy High School.
She had worked as a cook at Martin Marietta, Baltimore, MD.
She was a member of the Milroy American Legion Auxiliary.
She was a loving and caring Aunt, Great Aunt, and Great-great Aunt.
Her funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, with the Rev. Wilma Ingland officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy.

GOLDEN, CO - Gary G. Rhodes, 57, of 18400 W. 60 Avenue, Golden, CO, passed away Friday, April 19, 2002, at his home.
Born Oct. 28, 1944, he was the son of Alma R. Rhodes of Lititz and the late Glenn H. Rhodes. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dianne Meisel Rhodes, in September 2001.
Surviving are: two children, Gary G. Rhodes Jr. and Julie Rhodes, both of Colorado; brothers and sisters, Gene C. Rhodes, Spring Run, Mrs. Larry "Carol" Hayes, McVeytown, Barry L. Rhodes, Lititz, Mrs. Michael "Pamela" Schreiner, Lititz, Roy H. Rhodes, McVeytown, Daryl E. Rhodes, McVeytown, and Mrs. Charles "Linda" Kratzer, McVeytown; two stepchildren, Mrs. Ron "Bernice" Williams, Golden, CO, and Jeffrey Brook, San Diego, CA; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He was a graduate of Rothrock High School.
He was employed at Elichs Gardens.
His funeral services were held 10 a.m. Friday, April 26, at Olinger Wadsworth Chapel, Golden, CO, with the Rev. Jack McKeney officiating. Burial was in Fort Logan National Cemetery.

Ruth E. Richard
LEWISBURG - Ruth E. Richard, 77, of Outlook Pointe, Lewisburg, entered into the presence of her God and Savior at 9:50 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
Born June 20, 1924, in Mifflin County, she was the daughter of the late Henry Addison and Ada (Lash) Laub. Her husband J. Maynard Richard, died on Sept. 13, 1988.
Surviving are: two sons, Barry Richard and Randy Richard; a sister, Anna M. Laub; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
She retired from Danks and Company.
She was a member of Maitland Church of the Brethren.
Her funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Hoenstine Funeral Home, Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with Mike Kenny and the Rev. Charles M. Eldredge officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park Cemetery.

Tommy Richens
Tommy Richens, 46, of RR4 Mifflintown, died at 9:16 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2002, at Hershey Medical Center.
He was the son of Merale Richens of Utah and the late Claude Richens. His wife, Delores A. (Rhodes) Richens, survives.
