Peggy L. Wachter
Peggy L. Wachter, 69, of 1619 W. Third St., Jamestown, NY, died at 6:05 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, in Hamot Medical Center, Erie. A Jamestown area resident since 1964, she was born May 27, 1932, in Lewistown, a daughter of the late George W. and Mary Myrtle Miller Davidson Sr., who preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 1980 and Sept. 17, 1987. She was the widow of Paul R. Wachter, whom she married Aug. 17, 1971 and died July 8, 1985. Surviving is a brother, Rev. Robert E. Davidson of McVeytown. She will be missed by her friend Nancy Miller and family. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mildred E. Snook, on Nov. 17. 1994 and a brother, George W. Davidson, Jr. on May 4, 1993. She was a clerk at Walt's General Store in McHenry, Maryland for four years. Mrs. Wachter was a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church and Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers. She loved to crochet shawls for shut-ins with the Golden Agers. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Lind Funeral Home, with the Rev. John F. Pascoe, pastor of Lakewood United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown, PA. Friends will be received 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mary Emeline Waddell
BELLEVILLE - Mary Emeline Waddell, 93, of Valley View Haven, Belleville, and formerly of Ironton, OH, died at 5:05 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at Valley View Haven. Born Feb. 13, 1908, in Webster, WV, she was the daughter of the late Charles Newton and Rose Lee (Warder) Dunnington. Her husband, Herbert Arnold Waddell, preceded her in death in Oct. 1991. Surviving are: sons, Charles Edward Waddell, Kettering, OH, and John A. Waddell, Reedsville; three grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family having been preceded in death by a brother and sister. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Central Christian Church, Ironton, OH, since she was 14 years-old. Her graveside service will be held Wednesday at Woodland Cemetery, Ironton, OH, with the Rev. Terry F. Wade Jr.
LEWISTOWN - Terry F. Wade Jr., 31, of 722 Highland Avenue, Lewistown, died at 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born June 1, 1971, at Camp Lejeune, NC, he was a son of Terry F. Sr. and Norma (Snook) Wade, McVeytown. Also surviving are: children, Amanda and Jacob Wade; brothers and sister, Tige Wade, Burnham, Greta Sheaffer and Todd Wade, both of Lewistown. He was a U.S. Marine and Gulf War veteran. He was active in the Juniata Area Detachment Marine Corps League, and was also a Sergeant in the Alpha Company 2nd Battalion, 112th Infantry of the PA National Guard. He was a survey technician at Maztech Inc., New Bloomfield. His funeral will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Pine Glen Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Donald E. Peters officiating. Interment with graveside military services by the 112th Infantry of the PA National Guard and men of the Juniata Detachment will be in Juniata Memorial Park. Alfred H. 'Whitey' Wagner
MCCLURE - Alfred H. "Whitey" Wagner, 77, of McClure passed away at 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, 2002 at William Penn Nursing Home, Lewistown, where he had been a resident since May 6, 2002. Born Jan. 23, 1925, in McClure, he was the son of the late Alfred H. Sr. and Cora Eva (Lash) Wagner. His wife, Helen L. Bishop whom he married in 1945, survives. Also surviving are: three daughters, Sandra K. Harpster and Linda M. Wray both of (Belltown) McClure and Gayle M. Strausburg of Lewistown; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sara K. Mowery, Lewistown, and June L. Renninger, Lewistown; and a brother, Thomas A. Wagner, McClure. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon L. Wagner, and a brother, Marshall Wagner. He retired in 1970 from the United States Navy after 23 years, retiring as a Lieutenant. He served during World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He had earned a National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. He attended Lewistown High School and completed his education through the service. He farmed in Decatur Township for the past 35 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 942, McClure; VFW Post 7011, Lewistown; Bannerville Rod and Gun and Upton Lodge Free & Accepted Masons, Cheshire, MA. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at McClure Chapel of Aurand Funeral Homes, North Brown Street, McClure, with Rev. John Moyle officiating. Interment will be held in the McClure Union Cemetery, where graveside military services will be provided by American Legion Post 942, McClure. Friends may call 4-9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 7-9 p.m. A Masonic service will be held at 8:30 p.m.

Anna M. Wagner
LEWISTOWN - Anna M. Wagner, 87, of Erie, formerly of Franklin Ave., Lewistown, died Wednesday, Nov. 20 in Erie. Born Jan. 25, 1915, in Selinsgrove, she was a daughter of the late George W. and Mabel (Fisher) Mease. Her husband, Andrew E. Wagner, preceded her in death June 4, 1995. Surviving are: a son, Andrew S. Wagner and wife Judith S., 3004 Contessa Lane, Erie; four grandchildren, Drew and Derek Wagner, Erie, and Jennifer and Chad Lykins, state of Indiana. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Lykins and a brother, William Mease. She was a graduate of Selinsgrove High School and Susquehanna University. She retired from Mifflin County School District as a math teacher. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Mifflin County Retired Teachers Association. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hoenstine Funeral Home, Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown with Karen McCachren officiating. Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery. Clifford D. Wagner
LEWISTOWN - Clifford D. Wagner, 86, formerly of Rosemont Ave., Lewistown, died at 3:45 a.m. Sunday Aug. 25, 2002, at Ohesson Manor. Born March 6, 1916, in Huntingdon County, he was the son of the late Emma (Wagner) Weiand. His wife, Dorothy (Hain) Wagner, died June 30, 1995. Surviving are: children, Linda Wagner of Lewistown and Mrs. Larry (Deborah) Peck of Mechanicsburg; half-sister, Mary Laub of Lewistown; three grandchildren and two great-grandsons. He retired in 1972 from FMC with 38 years. He was a member of the Lake Park United Methodist Church. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Mark Brower officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Rock Cemetery. There will be no viewing. MILROY - Darlene Fay 'Dee' Wagner, 50, of 95 Treeleaf Road, Milroy, died at 3:51 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, in Lewistown Hospital's emergency room. Born Sept. 11, 1951, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of Helen Elizabeth (Carl) Longwell, of Middleburg, and the late Charles C. Longwell. Her husband, Ronald L. Wagner, whom she married Aug. 14, 1977, survives. Also surviving are: two children, Shawn D. Weaver and Sherry L. Harper both of Mifflintown; a brother, Charles C. Longwell of Winchester, VA., a twin sister, Marlene K. Johnson of Lewistown; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: a brother, William T. Longwell and a sister, Peggy L. Hoffman. She was the owner of Wagner's Excavating. Previously she worked at Overhead Door, Dutch Country Inn, Reedsville, Burnham OIP and Burnham Holiday Inn. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, New Lancaster Valley. She was a 1969 graduate of Chief Logan High School and a member the New Lancaster Valley Volunteer Fire Company. LEWISTOWN - Doris J. Wagner, 74, of Ohesson Manor Nursing Home and formerly of 6 Barchus Ct., Lewistown, died at 12:50 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at the home. Born April 30, 1926 in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Joseph L. and Kathryn (Wilson) Reigle. Her husband, Warren E. Wagner, preceded her in death on May 22, 1966. Surviving are: children, Mrs. Gary (Mary Lou) Miller, 21 Pine Dr., Lewistown, and Gary R. Wagner, Newport News, VA; brothers and sisters, Joseph L. Reigle, Maryland, Richard E. Reigle, Lewistown, Gerald R. Reigle, Burnham, Mrs. Michael (Patricia) Olnick, Burnham, and Mrs. James (Joan) Bay, McClure; and one grandchild. She was preceded in death by an infant son and a brother, Herbert G. Reigle. He retired from Speedy Cleaners in 1991. Gary Lee Wagner
FISHKILL, NY - Gary Lee Wagner, 62, of Fishkill, NY, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002, in Wingate at St. Francis, Beacon, NY after a long illness. Born Oct. 9, 1940, in Lewistown, he was a son of Margaret (King) Wagner, Belleville and the late Walter Wagner. His companion, Nancy Bareford, survives in Carmel, NY. Also surviving are: a daughter, Natalie Thorsen, Wappingers Falls, NY; a son, Eric Wagner, Fishkill, NY; three brothers, James Wagner, Ft. Myers, FL, Gary King, Lewistown, and John Wagner, Saltsburg; a sister, Diana Wirt, Lewistown; and three grandchildren. He was a sergeant for the U.S. Army from 1959-62. He worked at AT&T for 26 years as a construction engineering manager and at Home Depot, Wappingers Falls for 6 years. His funeral service with military honors will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Homes, Inc., 1028 Main Street, Fishkill, NY with Rev. John Young officiating. Helen L. (Bishop) Wagner
LEWISTOWN - Helen L. (Bishop) Wagner, 78, of McClure passed away at 5:17 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2002 at Beverly Healthcare-William Penn Nursing Home, Lewistown, where she had been a resident since Oct. 7. Born Nov. 14, 1923, in Mifflin, she was a daughter of the late Herve C. and Nellie M. (Dillman) Bishop. Her husband, Alfred H. "Whitey" Wagner Jr., whom she married in 1945, preceded her in death on Aug. 19, 2002. Surviving are three daughters, Sandra K. Harpster and Linda M. Wray, both of (Belltown) McClure, and Gayle M. Strausburg, Lewistown; a brother, Cecil H. Bishop; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon L. Wagner; a sister, Catherine E. Whitsel; and a brother, Charles I. Bishop. She was a housewife and helped her husband farm in Decatur Township for the past 35 years. She enjoyed helping Bannerville and East Derry volunteer fire companies, camping and fishing. Lisa A. Wagner
LEWISTOWN - Lisa A. Wagner, 39, of 430 S. Brown St., Lewistown, died at 6:45 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2002, in Jackson Township, Snyder County, as a result of an auto accident. Born June 3, 1962, she is the daughter of Harry H. and Dolores (Close) Confer of 76 Central Ave., Lewistown. Her husband, Douglas A. Wagner, whom she married Nov. 6, 1992, survives. Also surviving are: children, Derek B. Confer, Fullerton, CA; a step-son, Brett D. Wagner, Lewistown; and two brothers, Jeffrey L. Confer, Belltown, and Roger K. Confer, Lake Worth, FL. She was a 1980 graduate of Lewistown High School and a 1984 graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. Degree in Special Education. She was a 12 year veteran of the Department of Corrections. She began her career as a Corrections Counselor Two in 1990 at the State Corrections Institute, Smithfield, Huntington County. In 1995, she was promoted to inmate program manager at the State Corrections Institute, Muncy. In 1998 she was named Corrections Classification Program Manager at the State Corrections Institute, Muncy, a position she held until her recent promotion Deputy Superintendent for centralized services at State Corrections Institute, Frackville, Schuylkill County. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Lewistown. She was also a member of the International Community Corrections Associations, PA Association of Parole, Probation and Corrections, American Corrections Association, and Parent and Educators in Corrections. Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, with Rev. Dale Hippensteel officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Rock Cemetery, Lewistown. MIFFLINTOWN - Paul M. Wagner, 82, of Mifflintown RR 2, died Monday, Sept. 16, 2002, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born Oct. 26, 1919, in Havice Valley, Mifflin County, he was a son of the late Herbert C. and Amanda (Romig) Wagner. His wife, Ethel I. (Boyer) Wagner, whom he married Sept. 21, 1939, survives. Also surviving are: three sons and three daughters, Marian Booher and her husband William, Wayne Wagner and his wife Mary, and Susan Rickenbaugh and her husband Ronald, all of Mifflintown RR2, Donald Wagner and his wife Connie, McAllen, TX, Carl Wagner and his wife Elaine, Richfield RR1, Debra Butcosk and her husband Luke, Kreamer; two sisters, Ruth P. Shank, Lewistown and Rachael R. Sauers, Levittown; two brothers, John E. "Eddie" Wagner, Mifflintown RR1 and Benjamin W. Wagner, Thompsontown RR1; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, George W. Wagner and James L. Wagner; three sisters, Miriam L. Henry, Ada M. Bashore and Esther A. Ferrell; and two grandchildren, Holly Sue Rickenbaugh and Thomas C. Wagner. He was a farmer. He was a member of Centre Lutheran Church and Walker Grange and was a former Juniata County School Board director. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, baseball, camping, and traveling with his family. His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Centre Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert J. 'Butch' Wagner
LEWISTOWN - Robert J. "Butch" Wagner, 59, of 508 W. Fourth St., Lewistown, died at 7:35 p.m. Saturday Aug. 31, 2002, at Lewistown Hospital. Born May 20, 1943, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Kenneth A. and Violett J. (Rhoades) Wagner. His wife, Patricia (Myers) Wagner, whom he married 1963, survives. Also surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. Bradley (Robin) Jones of Camp Hill and Mrs. Patrick (Missie) Britt of Lewistown; four siblings, Mrs. Charles (Donna) Norton, Lewistown, Kenneth "Sonny" Wagner, McVeytown, Sue Gearhart, Lewistown, Ruth Langstaff, New York; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Kirby Wagner and a sister Linda Carpenter. He owned and operated the Robert Wagner Beauty Shop for 38 years and worked for the Mifflin County School District in maintenance. He was a member of the Lake Park Methodist Church. He was also a member of the B.P.O.E Lodge #663, he was a past exalted ruler and was Elk of the Year, he was also a member of the Moose Lodge #143. Vivian Pearl (Woods) Wagner
FLEMINGTON, WV - Vivian Pearl (Woods) Wagner was born in this Earthly Sphere on Sept. 13, 1944, the eighth of nine children, to Garfield Franklin and Mildred Pearl (Dalton) Woods in Flemington, West Virginia. She received her early education at Lincoln Elementary School in Rosemont, West Virginia. Vivian graduated from Flemington High School in 1962. Her Spiritual Realm began at an early age with her attending and joining the Rosemont Baptist Church. In the Personal Realm of her life, on Oct. 6, 1962, Vivian married Roger D. Wagner Jr., of Lewistown. They were the loving parents of two children, Shanna E. (Wagner) Hinton and Jay Dalton Wagner. Because her beloved husband was an officer and engineer in the United States Air Force, the couple lived in West Virginia, Missouri, Texas, New York, Florida, California and Maryland before residing in Pennsylvania. Prior to moving to Johnstown in 1988, the family lived in Penn Hills. Vivian continually embraced new friendships while maintaining older ones. She listened well and offered wise counsel when requested. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, Vivian initiated many families festivities and celebrations. She and her cherished husband enthusiastically assisted family members and friends in myriad ways. Vivian Pearl (Woods) Wagner passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 3, 2002 at 8:30 p.m. in the Intensive Care Unit of Conemaugh Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. Vivian embraced the Spiritual Realm throughout her life. A devoted Christian and adored member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, Vivian loved worshiping and fellowshipping with other Christians and participating in the activities of other Johnstown Churches. She was Bethel's financial secretary, a trustee, steward, chairperson of the usher board, Sunday School teacher, member of the missionary Ministry and Gwen Carter Singers. Vivian also directed craft activities for Vacation Bible School each year. In the Community and Civic Realm, Vivian was a diligent and dedicated supporter and leader who made significant contributions to several organizations. She served as financial secretary and chairperson of the fund-raising committee for the Elizabeth Lindsay Davis Club, treasurer of the Pennsylvania State Federation of Negro Women's Clubs, member of the Northeastern Federation and National Association of Colored Women's Clubs, Inc. Vivian was a volunteer for the United Way Clothing Drive and for Communities That Care , and a subscribing life member of the NAACP. In 1985, she received the prestigious Boy Scouts of America East Valley Area Council, Amicus District Award of Merit for her outstanding leadership services with both Cub and Boy Scouts. In March of 2001, she accompanied a group of fifty educators on a two week visit to South Africa during which time gifts were presented to selected schools and children. In the Educational and Professional Realm of her life, Vivian attended several colleges/universities. In 1977 she earned an Associate's Degree from the University of California Santa Barbara with a concentration in Sociology. She also earned a certificate in Business Administration from the Monroeville School of Business. She utilized her extraordinary business and financial expertise in various business ventures in partnership with her husband and daughter. Preceded in death by her parents, Garfield and Mildred Pearl Woods, and two brothers, Joe L. Woods and Thomas E.H. Woods; Vivian has moved to her Heavenly Sphere. Our precious Vivian leaves to cherish the many joys of her life, a loving husband, "the love of her life" for forty years; her daughter; her son; four grandchildren: Craig S. Walker Jr., Allen A. Hinton, Jajuan A. Hinton, and Brittany E. Strelnik; six surviving siblings: John A. Woods of Cincinnati, OH; Lola Bertha Woods and Mary Jane Thomas of Steubenville, OH; Franklin G. Woods and Lois E. Reeves of Weirton, WV and Jerry N. Woods of Fayetteville, NC; mother-in-law, Sarah E. Wagner of Lewistown; sisters-in-law, Gainelle E. Wagner of Harrisburg; Bertie (Davis) Woods Freeman of Rosemont, WV; Evelyn (Thomas) Woods of Weirton, WV and Joyce (Davis) Woods of Fayetteville, NC; a brother-in-law, Jesse Reeves of Weirton, WV and God-Daughter, Kendra T. Thomas of Steubenville, OH as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Gordon D. Walker Jr.
LEWISTOWN - Gordon D. Walker Jr., 73, of 2448 Back Maitland Rd., Lewistown, died at 1:26 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002 at Lewistown Hospital. Born June 1, 1928 in Erie, PA, he was the son of the late Marie (Beck) and Gordon D. Walker Sr. His wife, Iris Marie (Decker) Walker, preceded him in death on Dec. 4, 2000. Surviving are: children, Suzanne Fisher, Nancy L. Walker, Gary D. Walker and Neal R. Walker, all of Lewistown; brothers, John N. Walker, Lexington, KY, and Melvin R. Walker, Hermitage, PA; and six grandchildren. He earned his B.S. degree from Penn State University and was the director of Agricultural Extension in Mifflin Co. through Penn State. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean era having served in Europe. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and Lewistown Lodge 203 F & AM. He was also a member and secretary of the Lewistown Rotary Club, an avid bowler and secretary of the church bowling league, a substitute teacher at Mifflin-Juniata Co. Vo-Tech School and was an advocate for world hunger. His memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church, 200 E. Third St., Lewistown, with the Rev. David Schmuck and Karen McCachren officiating. A private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing. Joseph E. 'Junction' Walker
MCVEYTOWN - Joseph E. "Junction" Walker, 18, of 45 Appleby Lane, McVeytown, died at 5 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002, at his grandfather's residence, 30 Duquesne Way, Lewistown. Born March 3, 1984, in McComb, MS, he was the son of James A. and Sue (Walker) Howell. Also surviving are: maternal grandparents, Clyde E. Walker Jr. of Lewistown and Betty M. Walker of St. Petersburg, FL; maternal great-grandmother, Betty M. Colyer of Lewistown; and maternal great-great-grandmother, Mable Walker of Lewistown. He was a student. He was a member of Pine Glen Church of the Brethren and a member of the church youth group. His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with Rev. Bernard Carpenter officiating. Interment will be in Pine Glen Cemetery. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Lois L. Walter
LEWISTOWN - Lois L. Walter, 91, of Ohesson Manor Nursing Home and formerly of Kish Apartments, South Main Street, Lewistown, died at 12:26 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2002, at the home. Born March 18, 1911, in Altoona, she was the daughter of the late Emory A. and Rosetta (Campbell) Searer. Her husband, Clarence E. Walter, died on April 5, 1995. Surviving are four children, Gloria Wilson of McClure, Marvin E. Walter of Redwood City, CA, Ronald E. Walter of Dunedin, FL and Mrs. Ronald (Carol) Shank of Lewistown; five siblings, Alice Ritzman of Mifflintown, Mrs. Lillian Olson of Lewistown, Gordon E. Searer of Milton, Arthur T. Searer of Jersey Shore and Dale P. Searer of Harrisburg; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Mark's Friendship Class of the Sunday School. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with Rev. Dan Smith officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park. Gary Lee Wagner
FISHKILL, NY - Gary Lee Wagner, 62, of Fishkill, NY, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002, in Wingate at St. Francis, Beacon, NY after a long illness. Born Oct. 9, 1940, in Lewistown, he was a son of Margaret King, Lewistown and the late Walter Wagner. His companion, Nancy Bareford, survives in Carmel, NY. Also surviving are: a daughter, Natalie Thorsen, Wappingers Falls, NY; a son, Eric Wagner, Fishkill, NY; three brothers, James Wagner, Ft. Myers, FL, Gary King, Lewistown, and John Wagner, Saltsburg; a sister, Diana Witt, Lewistown; and three grandchildren. He was a sergeant for the U.S. Army from 1959-62. He worked at AT&T for 26 years as a construction engineering manager and at Home Depot, Wappingers Falls for 6 years. His funeral service with military honors will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Homes, Inc., 1028 Main Street, Fishkill, NY with Rev. John Young officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Lois Seretta Wagner
ALLIANCE, OH - Lois Seretta Wagner, 88, of Alliance, OH, died at 8:55 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at home. Born Sept. 14, 1913, in Beaver Springs, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Seretta (Barger) Kempfer. Her husband, John N. Wagner, whom she married in Jan., 1939, preceded her in death in June, 1989. Surviving are: two sons, Dr. J. Richard and Judith K. Wagner, Coos Bay, Oregon, and David J. and Bonnie Wagner, Alliance, OH; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers. She graduated from Beaver Springs Vocational High School, attended Beauty School in Pittsburgh and owned and operated a Beauty Shop in Verona, PA. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Avalon, and the Unity Center, Pittsburgh. She was also an active member in the Avalon Couples Club, Children's Choir Director at the Trinity Lutheran Church, a Piano Teacher, and a member of the Edgewood Tennis Club. A prayer service will be held 8:30 p.m. Monday in the chapel of the Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, 75 S. Union Ave., Alliance, OH. June E. Warntz
COBURN - June E. Warntz, 82, of Coburn died Friday, Sept. 13, 2002 at River Woods Nursing Center, Lewisburg. Born June 1, 1920, in Coburn, she was the only child of Reese G. and Dolly R. (Kerstetter) Auman. Her husband, Rev. Malvin F. Warntz, whom she married June 1, 1941, survives in Coburn. She was preceded in death by an infant son. She was a 1938 graduate of East Penns Valley High School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from Asbury College in Wilmore, KY, in 1950. She was a pastor's wife. She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Millheim. She was a member of East Penns Valley Womans Club. She enjoyed doing crafts of various kinds and giving them away. She continued to do this as long as she was physically able. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 117 Penn St., Millheim, with Rev. Edward H. Putt Sr. and Chaplin Jerry Haupt of River Woods Nursing Care officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Millheim. Dr. Roland E. Warntz
LITTLE TORCH KEY, FL - Dr. Roland E. Warntz died on Dec. 17, 2001, at his home on Little Torch Key, FL. He was the son of the late Heber and Elizabeth (Jones) Warntz. His wife, Alice (Massey) Warntz, survives. Also surviving are: a son, Bradford Warntz; sisters, Helen (Warntz) Weyman, Phyllis (Warntz) Beaver; and two brothers, Harold Warntz and Donald R. Warntz. He graduated from Lewistown High School and entered the Navy Air Corps. He was stationed at Corpus Christi Naval Air Station as a flight instructor. After the war, he entered the University of Pittsburgh Dental School, graduating in 1953. He practiced in Emmaus for 30 years. Funeral arrangements were handled by McCluney Funeral Home, Marathon, FL.

Dorothy E. Watson
BELLEVILLE - Dorothy E. Watson, 95, a resident of Valley View, Belleville, formerly of RD1, Milroy, died at 1:20 a.m. Thursday, April 25, 2002, at the retirement home. Born December 25, 1906, in Graham, she was the daughter of the late William and Mae (Harper) Johns. Her husband Norman S. Watson, preceded her in death April 9, 1972. Surviving are: several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. She was employed at American Viscose for 18 years, before retiring in 1942. She was a member of Ellen Chapel Church and the Milroy Methodist Church. She attended services at Valley View Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lind Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Galen Sharp officiating. There will be no public viewing. Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.
