Betty Evelyn Watts
MIFFLINTOWN - Betty Evelyn Watts, 76, of 101 N. Fifth St., formerly of RR 3, Mifflintown, passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, at the home of her daughter, Patty Varner.
Born April 6, 1925, in Tuscarora, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Ray S. and Helen M. (Wagner) Walters. She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Robert Watts, on Oct. 26, 1973 and by an infant son on Nov. 14, 1949.
Surviving are four daughters, Patty, wife of Douglas Varner, Betty Jean "B.J.," wife of David Doray, Robin, wife of Dennis Clouser, all of Mifflintown, and Kathie, wife of Donald Wills of Lewistown; a sister, Dorothy Henry of Mifflin; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Presently, she was a homemaker and a mother. Early in her life she worked as a clerk at Gordon's Dept. Store and was co-owner of Watts Grocery Store, Mifflin, from 1961 to 1973.
She attended Juniata Joint High School. She was a life-long member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Mifflin, and also a member of the Milford Grange. She enjoyed house plants, baking and cooking.
Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. Douglas Kelley officiating. Interment will be in Lost Creek Mennonite Cemetery, Oakland Mills. Friends may call Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Charles H. Weaver Sr.
LEWISTOWN - Charles H. Weaver Sr., 75, of 1147 Glenwood Ave., Lewistown, died at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at his residence.
Born Feb. 12, 1927, in Derry Township, he was the son of the late William and Elizabeth R. (Knepp) Weaver. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte E. Weaver, on March 13, 1992.
Surviving are: children, Charles H. Weaver Jr., 5695 Old Stage Rd., McClure, Carol A. Caldwell, 235 Rimmey Rd., Centre Hall, Peggy Ritter, Mt. Union, and Dennis J. Weaver Sr., 415 Princeton St., Lewistown; a brother Clarence R. Weaver Sr., Roosevelt Ave., Lewistown; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
He retired from the tire mill of Standard Steel, Burnham in 1989, with 42 years of service.
He was a member of the Paintersville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, City Hook and Ladder Fire Company, VFW Post 7011, Lewistown Moose Lodge #143 and American Legion Post 90.
His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hoenstine Funeral Home, Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. George H. Mark officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park Cemetery.

Donald E. Weaver
PLEASANT GAP - Donald E. Weaver, 75, of 267 Whitman Ave., Pleasant Gap, died at 2:38 a.m. Sunday, March 31, 2002, at Centre Community Hospital.
Born April 8, 1926, in Pleasant Gap, he was the son of the late Earl A. and Florence E. (Sampsell) Weaver. His wife, Elva (Price) Weaver, whom he married July 14, 1956, in Lewistown, survives.
Also surviving are: two sons, Scott P. Weaver, Milesburg, and Donald A. Weaver, Granville; three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
He was a 1947 graduate of Bellefonte High School.
He was a WW II Navy veteran.
He worked at National Gypsum, Domtar and Conlime, all of Bellefonte, before retiring in 1988 after 40 years of service
He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Pleasant Gap, Logan Grange, Lions Club of Pleasant Gap and the Pleasant Gap Volunteer Fire Co.
His funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Pleasant Gap, with the Rev. Richard S. Zuber officiating. Interment will be in Zion Union Cemetery, Walker Twp.

Margaret C. Weaver
LEWISTOWN - Margaret C. Weaver, 92, of 126 Delaware Ave., Lewistown, died at 9:55 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2002, at Beverly Healthcare William Penn Nursing Home, Lewistown.
Born Jan. 19, 1909, in Patton, she was the daughter of the late Alexander Frank and Margaret (Koch) Tuttle. Her husband, William W. Weaver Sr., survives.
Also surviving are: children, William W. Weaver Jr., U.S. Highway 522 N., McClure, Donald S. Weaver, McClure RD2, and Ronald E. Weaver, McClure RD1; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, one sister, and a grandson, Alex Weaver.
Early in life she worked at American Viscose Corporation and later was a homemaker.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lewistown, and the Past Deputy Grand Regent of Lewistown Women of the Moose, where she served on the Grand Council for two years.
A private memorial service for family and relatives only will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Maitland Church of the Bretheran, 315 Crossover Drive, Lewistown, with the Rev. Charles M. Eldredge officiating. A private interment will be in Maitland Church of the Bretheran Cemetery.
There will be no public viewing.

Wilma H. Webb
LEWISTOWN - Wilma H. Webb, 82, of 601 East Walnut St., Lewistown, died at 10:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2002, at her residence.
Born Jan. 2, 1920, in Shade Gap, Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas C. and Mary Ann (Appleby) Murphy. Her husband, Blaine W. Webb, preceded her in death Jan. 15, 1990.
Surviving are: a daughter, Glenda E. (Glunt) Varner, 533 East Walnut St., Lewistown; a sister, Esther, M. Glunt, Shade Gap; three grandchildren, Dewayne E. Varner, Yvonne S. Hathway, and Nathan A. Varner; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: five brothers, William, Warren, Merril, Leo, and Dean Murphy; four sisters, Erma Jaymes, Dessie Hampton, Alda Snyder, and Naomi McCartney; and a granddaughter, Lucinda R. Varner in 1991.
She worked at Fishers Electronics, Milroy, for six years.
She was also a homemaker.
She was a member of Calvary Bible Church, Lewistown.
She was a member of Loyal Ladies Bible Class and Church Seniors Group.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Shade Gap Bible Church, Shade Gap with Rev. Howard D. Houtz officiating. Interment will be in Shade Gap Cemetery.

James H. "Jim" Welshonse
MIFFLINTOWN - James H. "Jim" Welshonse, 50, of RR3 Mifflintown (Mexico), died at 2 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2002, at his residence.
Born July 3, 1951, in Derry Township, Mifflin County, he was the son of the late William A. and Ella Mac (Burns) Welshonse.
He was a loving husband to Sandra L. (Hower) Welshonse, whom he married Sept. 2, 1972. He was a loving father to his son, Jason E. Welshonse, and his wife, Dana, who live in Dubois, and to his daughter, Letitia M. Yoder, and her husband, Kenneth, who live in McCoysville.
Also surviving are two brothers, Harry W. Welshonse of McAlisterville and Donald J. Welshonse of RR5 Mifflintown; and a sister, Donna E. Welshonse of Port Royal.
He was a 1969 graduate of Juniata High School.
He was a member of Mexico United Presbyterian Church, Mexico, where he was a trustee. He was also a member of the Juniata County Sportsman Club, the National Rifle Association, the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #925, Millerstown, and Union Lodge #324 F.&A.M., Mifflintown.
He was a U.S. Navy Viet Nam veteran.
He was an avid hunter, especially enjoying archery season and muzzleloader hunting.
He was employed for 32 years as a platform manager at Naval Inventory Control Point, Mechanicsburg.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday from the Mifflintown Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. David A. Cook officiating. Burial will be in the Old Church Hill Cemetery, RR2 Port Royal, where full military burial honors will be accorded by the Juniata County Veterans Council.
A viewing will be 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Joan L. Wendorf
REEDSVILLE - Joan L. Wendorf, 70, of 101 Marlick Ave., Reedsville, died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday Dec. 28, 2002, at her residence.
Born July 10, 1932, in Detroit, MI, she was a daughter of the late John and Martha (Theel) Anton. Her husband, John F. Wendorf, whom she married Jan. 5, 1952, survives.
Also surviving are: three children, Mrs. Jeffrey (Debra) Weikel, Mrs. James (Patti) Shilling, and John A. Wendorf, all of Reedsville; a brother, John W. Anton, Oscoda, MI; a sister, Mrs. William (Janet) Montgomery, Largo, FL; and nine grandchildren.
She was employed at Watson's Optical, Lewistown with over 20 years of service.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family, Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home is in charge. Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville.

Katheryn Showers Werner
LEWISTOWN - Kathryn Showers Werner, 93, of 501 East Walnut Street, Lewistown, died at 1:20 a.m. Thursday May 2, 2002, at her residence.
Born Sept. 3, 1908, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Uriah C. and Nanna O. (Guss) Showers. Her husband, Harold E. Werner, preceded her in death in 1977.
Surviving are: children, Mrs. Robert (Nancy) Battin, Riverside, CA, and Dr. Sara E. Werner, Racine WI; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
She was a teacher in the Mifflin County School District for 20 years.
She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was also a member of National, PA, and Mifflin County Retired Teachers Associations, Delta Kappa Gamma Society, the Lewistown Hospital Auxiliary, and Mifflin County Historical Society.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Gerald A. Krum officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Rock Cemetery.
There will be no public viewing, however, family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

Kenneth L. Wertz
LEWISTOWN - Kenneth L. Wertz, 87, of 205 Union Ave, Apt. #3, Lewistown, died at 1:08 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, at Hershey Medical Center.
Born Oct. 28, 1914, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Arthur C. and Inez (Stiffler) Wertz. His wife, Louella (Barlett) Wertz, preceded him in death on Nov. 28, 1993.
Surviving are: step-children, William B. Norris, Yeagertown, and Mrs. Melvin (Mary Lou) Robinson, Wilmington, DE; sister and brother, Marion Taylor, 95 Luther Dr., Lewistown, and Robert P. Wertz, Naples, FL; several step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Ray Wertz, in 1989.
He was a 1934 graduate of Lewistown High School.
He owned and operated Wertz Truck Stop, Lewistown.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Men's Sunday School Class.
He was also a member of F.W. Black Senior Citizens Center, a and a life member of City Hook and Ladder, Fame Fire Companies and AARP.
His funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., with the Rev. Dale Hippensteel officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Rock Cemetery.

PORT ROYAL - Edna Cisney Wharton, 90, of Brookline Retirement Village, RR1 Mifflintown, formerly of Port Royal, died at 10:30 p.m. Sunday April 28, 2002, at the retirement home.
Born March 10, 1912, in Mifflin County she was the daughter of the late Castor Portor and Viola (Bauchman) McCormick. Her first husband, Kenneth D. Cisney, preceded her in death on July 25, 1967. Her second husband, Robert W. Wharton, preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 1989.
Surviving are: one daughter, Mrs. John (Leota) Clay, Brooksville, FL; one son, Kenneth C. Cisney, Port Royal; one sister, Helen Cline, Auburn, OH; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Pearl Taylor, Ethel McCormick, and Ruth Trefs.
She was a graduate of the Lewistown High School.
She was a retired seamstress having worked for the Arrow Shirt Factory, Lewistown, with 26 years of service.
She was a member of the Port Royal Lutheran Church.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal, with the Rev. Marton J. Roberson officiating. Interment will be in the Old Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.

Amelia Margaret 'Minnie' Lloyd Whary
HUMMELSTOWN - Amelia Margaret 'Minnie' Lloyd Whary, 76, passed away Sunday, Nov. 10, 2002, in the Harrisburg Hospital.
Born in Lewistown on Oct. 9, 1926, she was the daughter of the late William and Rachel (Phillips) Lloyd. Her husband, Donald L. Whary, preceded her in death on April 3, 1981.
Surviving are: a daughter, Dawn Marie wife of Arthur F. Druckenmiller, Hummelstown; two sons, Kenneth L. Whary, Hummelstown, William E. and his wife Karen (Raynes) Whary, Elizabethtown; a sister, Jeannine Y. wife of Merrill L. Setzler, Hummelstown; a brother, William P. Lloyd and his wife Florence (Goss) Lloyd, Rockledge, Fl; two nieces, Rachel Setzler and Renee Setzler, both of Hummelstown; a nephew, Kevin S. Lloyd, Rockledge, FL; five grandchildren, Amy E. Fusher and Ann M. Whary, both of Hummelstown, Erin l. Whary, Enola, and Brian W. and Stacey Whary, both of Elizabethtown; three great-grandchildren, Michael C. Fisher, Matthew C. Fisher and Celeste J. Whary, all of Hummelstown.
She retired as an assembler for Phoenix Contact, Hummelstown.
She was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lewistown.
She was a Methodist by faith. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and enjoyed crocheting, playing pinochle and going to Atlantic City casinos.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trefz and Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Juniata Memorial Park.

Born Aug. 17, 1911, in Clearfield County, she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Helen M. (Hoyt) Clark. Her husband, J. Nelson Wheeler, preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 1990.
Surviving are seven children, Nelson L. Wheeler, Pine Grove Mills, Delores Rhodes, 714 S. Grand St., Mrs. Donald (Marlene) Fisher, 503 S. Wayne St., Mrs. Margaret R. Yoder, 501 S. Wheeler, Jack's Creek Road; two sisters and a brother, Marie Riddle, Curwinsville, Edward Clark, Clearwater, FL, and Clara MacElwee, Terrace Boulevard; 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
She was a homemaker.

John Whiteman Jr.
LEWISTOWN - John Whiteman Jr., 73, of 90 Lute Lane, Lewistown, died at 1:40 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002, at his residence.
Born Jan. 3, 1929, in Burnham, he was a son of the late John and Clayre (McCardle) Whiteman Sr. His wife, Florence Louise (Hartsock) Whiteman, preceded him in death on Feb. 9, 2000.
Surviving are: three children, Mrs. Joseph (Sherry) Morrow, Monroe, MI, Mrs. Frank (Cindy) Sheakes, Miami, FL, and John D. Whiteman, III, Brooklyn, NY; three siblings, Jeanne W. Ferreira, Baltimore, MD, Mrs. Richard (Joyce) Moore, Lewistown, and Joseph Whiteman, Havelock, NC; three grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Jacqueline Varish.
He was a self-employed truck driver and last employed at Wal-Mart Super Store, as a greeter for 8 years retiring in 1999.
He was an Aviation Engineer for the U.S. Air Force.
He was a member of Paintersville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, VFW Post 7011, Lewistown, City Hook and Ladder Fire Company, Owl's Club, and American Legion Post 90.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Lockport with Rev. Mark S. Brower officiating. A private interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery.

MIFFLINTOWN - Dorothy R. Whitesel, 88, of Mifflintown RR 3, died at 11:55 am, Monday, December 23, 2002 at her home.
Born June 30, 1914 in Licking Creek Valley, she was a daughter of the late George and Emma (McCahan) Sheesley. Her husband, Roy A. Whitesel, died on January 26, 1977.
She is survived by 4 sons and 4 daughters: Frederick E. Whitesel, Charlton, NY, Henry K. Whitesel, Nottingham, Beverly Ann Whitesel, Lacey, WA, Lucille E. Taylor, Linda K. Whitesel, Roger R. Whitesel, Esther E. Bratton, and James D. Whitesel, all of RR 3, Mifflintown; 2 brothers and 2 sisters, Nellie Stine and David Sheesley, both of Tucson, AZ, Lloyd Sheesley, RR 3, Mifflintown and Gladys Barns, Millerstown; 21 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Ruth Whitesel on December 24, 1957, a brother and 2 sisters, John Sheesley, Beulah Noss, and Mary Ellen Sheesley, and 2 great-granddaughters, Emma and Cora Taylor.
She was a graduate of the Mifflin and Mifflintown High Schools and a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, the Friendship Sunday School class, the Women of the ELCA and Milford Grange. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and at Locust Grove Retirement Village.
She enjoyed reading, playing the piano, gardening, sewing and needlework and had made a quilt for each of her grandchildren.
Her service will be held at 11 am Friday at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church with Rev. Louise Knotts officiating. Interment will be in St. Stephen's Lutheran Cemetery.
There will be a viewing on Thursday from 7-9pm at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown and on Friday at the church from 10 am until the time of the services.

Mildred P. Whitesel
GRANTHAM - Mildred P. Whitesel, 82, of Messiah Village, Grantham, formerly of McVeytown, died at 2:20 a.m. Monday, January 28, 2002 at the Village.
Born February 8, 1919 in Everett, Bedford Co., she was a daughter of the late Harry P. and Stella I. (Weyant) Hann. Her husband, Alfred U. Whitesel, preceded her in death on May 21, 1973.
Surviving are: children, Nova Jean Crider and her husband Daryl, Chambersburg, Anita Abell and her husband Ken, Morrison, IL, Leona Asper and her husband Clayton, Harrisburg, and David A. Whitesel and his wife Susan, Newville; one sister, Dorothy L. Reed and her husband Paul, Milroy; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, D. Willard Hann.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Newton Hamilton Brethren in Christ Church. In the 1940's, she was a Missionary for the Brethren in Christ Church for home missions in Kentucky, Ohio and Pennsylvania. She was a Sunday School teacher for a number of years in several different Brethren in Christ Churches. Later in life she volunteered with Child Evangelism Organization.
She enjoyed reading, sewing, making quilts, bird watching, collecting stamps and pennies and taking care of flowers and houseplants.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown with the Rev. Kenneth R. Abell officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.

ELIZABETHTOWN - Helen Irene Wileman, 80, of 443 West High Street, Elizabethtown, died Sunday, April 28, 2002, at Community General Osteopathic, Harrisburg.
Born in Honey Grove, she was the daughter of the late Dallas and Dorothy (Adams) Bollinger. Her husband, Edward J. Wileman, preceded her in death in 1998.
Surviving are: a son, Charles E. and wife, Linda (Bowman) Wileman, Elizabethtown; one grandchild and one great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel Bollinger.
She was a homemaker.
She attended Elizabethtown Brethren in Christ Church.
Her funeral service will be held in the McCullach's Mills Cemetery, McCullach's Mills, at the convenience of the family.
Fina P. Williams
MSGT (E8) Fina P. Williams, U.S. Army (Ret.), 74, of Mifflintown RR 2 died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002 at Brookline Manor, Mifflintown.
Born Aug. 15, 1928 in Slagle, LA, he was the son of the late Henry N. and Ella Mae (Grimes) Williams. His wife, Ruth A. (Dressler) Williams, whom he married July 3, 1952, survives.
Also surviving are children: Pamela Y. Shellenberger, wife of Tom; Fina P. Williams II and wife, Karen; Jody L. Varner, wife of Dean; Joni L. Rowe, wife of Nelson; two sisters: his twin, Melvina Brown, Leesville, LA and Belle Moon, Texarkana, TX and grandchildren, Holly Thomas, Jessica Thomas, Jennifer Williams, Melanie Williams, Rebecca Varner, Katie Varner, Andrew Rowe and Alex Rowe.
He was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 6 brothers.
He was an Army Veteran, serving over 20 years on active duty in Korea, Japan, SE Asia, and Europe. He was employed as a supervisor at Triangle Pacific Cabinet Corp. for 22 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Mifflintown. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed his children and grand-children.
His funeral service will be held at 11 am Wednesday at the First Baptist Church, Mifflintown with Rev. Ronald Shupe officiating. Interment will be in Locust Run Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the Juniata County Veteran's Council.
There will be a viewing from 7pm-9pm Tuesday at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown and on Wednesday at the church one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, HC 63, Mifflintown, PA 17059.
Helen M. Williams
LEWISTOWN - Helen M. Williams, 71, of 14 W. Fourth St., Lewistown, died at 11:01 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at her residence.
Born June 19, 1930, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the later Frank J. and Anetta M. (Smith) Campbell. Her husband, James A. Williams, whom she married Dec. 24, 1951, survives.
Also surviving are: children, James F. Williams, Gwendolyn W. Williams, Melissa "Minnie" Williams, Charles L. "Charlie" Williams, Mesha J. Rogers and Ambrosia T. Dudley, all of Lewistown, and Mary M. Williams of Dunnellon, FL; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was the last of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and two grandsons.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Bethel AME Church in Lewistown and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family, with private interment at Mt. Rock Cemetery. There is no public viewing.
The Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.
Ruth Willis
MCALISTERVILLE - Ruth Willis, 82, of RR1 McAlisterville (Bunkertown), died at 5:45 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2002, in Brookline Manor, RR1 Mifflintown.
Born Aug. 11, 1919, in Bunkertown, Juniata County, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Lydia (Dillman) Nace. Her husband, Robert Willis, whom she married Oct. 15, 1942, survives.
Also surviving are: two sons, Barry L. and his wife Cathy, Enola, Anthony C. and his wife Mary Ann, Mifflintown; a sister, Maxine House, Richfield; a brother, C. WIlliam "Bill" Nace, McAlisterville; a granddaughter, Amanda WIllis; and a step-grandson, Gregory Stottle.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Cletus E. Nace in 1964.
She was a 1938 graduate of Fayette High School, McAlisterville.
She was employed as a seamstress for L. Shellenberger and Son, McAlisterville and then retiring from Lyons Fashions, McAlisterville in 1995.
Her hobbies included gardening, especially flowers, collecting glassware and reading.
She was a life-long member of Bunkertown Church of Brethren, Bunkertown, where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the McAlisterville Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes, 16 Westfall St., McAlisterville, with Pastor James Huskins officiating. Burial will follow in Goodwill Cemetery, Bunkertown.
Friends will be received 4-9 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present 7-9 p.m., at the funeral home.

Walter Charles 'Walt' Willow
MILLERSTOWN - Walter Charles 'Walt' Willow, 68, of 320 Seven Stars Road, Millerstown, entered into eternal rest at 3:50 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002, at his residence following an illness since the latter part of April, 2002.
Born Nov. 3, 1933, at RR1, Richfield, the son of the late John Albert and Elizabeth (Chubb) Willow. His wife, Donna May (Miller) Willow, whom he married June 22, 1952, survives.
Also surviving are: a son, Steve J. Willow and wife Carol of Millerstown, two daughters, Penny E. Frey and husband James Jr. of Liverpool and Crystal L. Thompson and husband Wade of Millerstown; a brother, John R. Willow and wife Dawn of Richfield; three sisters, Judy Howell and husband Charles of Newport, Linda Keisling and husband Winston of Liverpool and Stella Willow of Downingtown; three generations of nieces and nephews; five grandchildren, Caden J. Frey, Casin J. Frey, Alyssa N. Thompson, Ashley E. Thompson and Adam W. Thompson; and a great-grandson, Weslei M. Frey.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Minium.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was educated at the former Millerstown Joint High School.
He was employed since January 1950 at Triangle Pacific Cabinets Corp., RR1 Thompsontown. He retired Dec. 31, 2001 as vice president of operations and as a consultant, traveling to various states in his employment. He was skilled in carpentry, plumbing and electrical works.
He was formerly associated with St. James United Methodist Church, RR2 Millerstown.
He was a member of the Millerstown Fire Company and ambulance league. He was also a member of the Shindle Gap Hunting Club Assoc., McClure.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at the George P. Garman Funeral Home, 606 N. Front St., Liverpool, with Pastor Salvatore E. Buonocore officiating. A burial with full military honors will be provided by the Liverpool American Legion Post #364 in St. James United Methodist Cemetery, RR2 Millerstown.
The family will receive friends for the viewing from noon until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
